Costa in South Somerset

Been in a lot recently due to a kitchen referb. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, they promptly get your order ready. Food and drinks have been perfect every time. It's a really nice little local coffee shop with a really welcoming atmosphere.

I was in 2 minds about writing this, but I feel I need to say something. As a whole I enjoy visiting this costa, it’s convenient for me with a baby that doesn’t like the car and I often go with a few other mums after our baby group on a Monday morning. I also visit with my partner and stepchildren on the odd weekend too. Generally speaking, the place is clean and the staff are upbeat and friendly despite it being busy. There was a lovely guy making the hot drinks on Saturday 9th March 2024, I’d say he was maybe early-mid 20’s and went above and beyond! There is one person who just makes me so anxious on my visits and is usually there working and I’m afraid he may even be the manager. I was in 2 minds as I get 2 versions of him and usually within the same sentence. He doesn’t appear to enjoy working there either. The first few regular visits my baby was 5-8 weeks old, he was friendly and chatty. Then started coming the passive-aggressive comments. We spoke briefly about my job and I said I didn’t want to go back until she was 2. He made an eye roll as if I had just had a baby to avoid work. Another time he was obviously annoyed one of the other babies in our group had dropped some snacks on the floor, huffed as he walked past the table. At the weekend (9th March ‘24) he got annoyed because my stepdaughter wanted a bubble tea - no longer available and then took a while deciding. I could sense his annoyance so cancelled my order so he could serve the person behind me, before queuing again to place our order where she wanted a hot milkshake and he stated “you’ll have to wait, they take a while to make!” Which was fine. Today I went in alone with my baby to sit down before another mum could join me. He (I think is called Alex, middle aged, has teenagers and I’m guessing ex military?) started pleasantly, though understaffed and busy. Asked if he’d seen me in an Airsoft cap a week or so ago. I stated yes and it’s mine and my partners hobby (not many people know what it is, so I thought maybe this would be a positive conversation). He then followed up with the following comments during the conversation “so you like to play toy soldiers” “it’s not so fun when you get shot for real” I stated how I wouldn’t know as I wouldn’t have passed the fitness test and im too old to join “what? You’re over 33!?” Whether the unpleasantness beforehand was because he thought I was some young mum trying to not work, I don’t know! Later during this visit my friend’s 1-yr-old had dropped snacks on the floor. We were going to pick them up at the end, as we know dogs come in and it was raisins (we are vet nurses). Before we were leaving he put the dustpan and brush over my head and behind me. I brushed up the mess as we got ready to leave. On leaving he apparently said to my friend “oh you got the hint to clean up your own mess then!” I’m never one to not leave a place as I found it. I put my rubbish in the bin & id put my tray with plates etc in an area designated if there was one. I just constantly feel like a pain by him when I visit and am starting to think we need to find another local coffee shop to visit. Which is a shame as I enjoy my costa rewards. I also never complain, but he’s never like this when I’m with my partner and he makes me want to walk out, I get such anxiety visiting now!

The man serving me was very passive aggressive, and then eventually just went straight aggressive, not a pleasant experience.

Tuesday 19 December 2023 , 2.15 pm. Cafe quiet at this time. Behind counter very dirty, staff scruffy and look dirty. waited ages to be served while all staff were just chatting to obviously a regular customer. Many Tables not cleared. The worst Costa I've ever been in.

We've been in a few times recently and can only say we won't be back! Service terrible, tables not cleared, staff seem unmanaged, on this visit they spent more time telling us what they didn't have, than what they did have! Iced Cappuccino was unpleasant, tasted burnt. Definitely won't be visiting again.

Stopped in for hot drinks which were lovely. The queue to order/collect was quite long and slow moving and the tables were not cleared quickly so had dirty cups and plates left on them.

Always seems to close earlier than the scheduled times!

Service really slow. Forgot my order. They had to check 3 times on what I was waiting for. It wasn't busy either. Two friendly staff one male and one female brown hair(her badge said trainee) Other female one experienced member was rude

Popped in about 7.30am for breakfast before visiting the Local Auction House -. Very clean , airy and comfortable . The young lady in charge was great - Knew her customers well , smiley and chatty - a delight .- should be given a pay rise!!

Like all other Costa's but the decor is very dreary. Helpful staff. Now the sun is out again very pleasant and uncrowded outside space with 10 tables.

One of the nicer costa shops ive been to. Staff very friendly and efficient. The young lady serving the day we visited greeted me before i had chance to get my foot through the door. Brilliant.

Lovely spot for a cuppa, we grabbed a window seat and enjoyed some autumn sunshine. The only letdown was a child running around shouting for fun, we saw a couple leave because of it as it was going on for over 10 minutes. The parents thought it was cute 🙄. It really wasn't. Not Costa's fault of course.

Very very short staffed lately , unfair on the only two working as fast as they possibly could hence dirty dishes everywhere inside and outside , no clean tables

We use to be regular visitors but have been informed the owners are not dog friendly, unless you want to sit outside in the rain and inhale secondhand smoke. We will now take our cash elsewhere. Goodbye Crewkerne Costa

As all else was closed we were able to get a take away coffee here; so thanks to the young couple who were working in difficult circumstances; and as further closures and measures take place I hope you remain safe and sound!

Good service, usual quality coffee, spacious, comfortable and clean loos.

I am a regular, but have so many faults about the place, firstly dogs should not be indoors, as that big brown one outside is also a nuisance pestering people for food, fed up of screaming kids and women breastfeeding in the café in public and people using the cafe as a creche and also people on their laptops using the place as an office, we have a library for creches and laptops. The staff are very slow at clearing and wiping down tables, also the tables are always wobbly which is very annoying.

Very friendly and welcoming Barristas. Dog friendly. I would recommend to anyone visiting/passing through Crewkerne.

We Visit this Costa quite frequently, the staff are always freindly and helpful, just the other day I went in with my daughter and having bought us all treats I thought I'd get the dog a wafer, when I said I was buying it for the dog the young lady said we do have dog biscuits, she then proceeded to give me free of charge 3 dog bone biscuits. So we all enjoyed our coffees and treats :)

Popped in here today for a bit of lunch. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. There is a lovely atmosphere. The cafe is clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately the choice of sandwiches available today was quite small and there was no fresh fruit. However, the cafe has a welcoming feel to it and dogs are allowed too.

Our favourite coffee house in Yeovil

Very friendly staff and atmosphere, pop in there most days to unwind and read the newspapers that are provided, do not usually have anything to eat but occasionally they have some unsold croissants and the like which they hand out for free, whoop whoop.

Toilets seats in Crewkerne are loose. Reported this the last time we were there over 2 months ago. Tables needed clearing and washing.

We generally pop in here for a coffee after church on a Sunday morning. The coffee is always good but some time the service can be a little slow and the tables in need of clearing. A lot appears to be dependent on the manager being around.

I like my coffee served in a particular way & the friendly staff are more than willing & helpful to take the time to make it this easy way for me. The premises is a little outdated or tired & could do with a refurb, but I put this down to the fact that this Costa is very popular & well frequented. Their toaster machine is also out of date compared to some but I prefer my toast made with this old machine. All in all I can't find anything to complain about, so keep up the good work Crewkerne Costa :)

Steve are lovely, it is a safe place if ever get lost in Crewkerne, always a laughter and coffee. Always clean even in busy time, has a great atmosphere. One of my favourire Costa's thank you all.

Costa is what you'd expect from Costa. This gets the full five stars because my dog is welcome inside, as well as at their outdoor seating area!
