Wednesday 19 February 2025 evening. Popped into The Swan with my partner. On arrival at the bar the young blond guy just stared with hostility wordlessly. Not a word. Zero hospitality, very uncomfortable experience. Will not be returning to this pub. Never experienced such as this ever.

Amazing. Usually with these they are the same. This one is great. My parents are frequent customers and on my visit today they were great. Chris is what customer service standards should be measured against. Great with my kids. Accommodating, conversational and great at what he does. By far the best place for a something to eat or drink in thornbury.

Great spot , great food , lovely staff , roaring fire, everything you should expect from a country pub , slightly on the pricy side ,but I don'd mind paying for good service

Long and slow queue, lock broken on the toilet door (appears to be an ongoing problem), general shabby service-station look to the place. Unappealing choice of stodgy cheese toasties or ultra-processed cakes.

Great selection of beer and ciders, friendly staff, and lovely food at a good price.

Excellent place. Specially food taste is fabulous. Highly recommend for dine in.

Went for afternoon tea Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere Disappointing food sandwiches and cakes dry scones very small Good cup of tea and coffee Quite cold although sat by fire Noise from preparation area of loud banging by staff Took 20 minutes to bring clean tea cup to table had to get up and find staff by then tea was stewed Price was costly as £40 each not value for money Quite disappointing

Bar staff a lad with blond hair blowing bubble gum bubbles out of his mouth today getting spit from the white gum he was chewing. Had egg n chips. Eggs were full of lard. Bread was hard. Come home we both were sick all afternoon bringing up eggs. The pumpkin latte was nice. But won't be having any more food in there. We seen a dirty chef. Looked like the was on day release from layhill prison.

The fish and chips is fine, but they are advertising gluten free when they don't actually offer it unfortunately. They advertise gluten free on Sundays, but when you actually call them up to ask they won't make it, presumably because it's too much effort to make up a fresh batch Update - I followed the instructions they replied with below and they ignored me. Issue still isn't resolved
