We visited The White Hart for a birthday lunch. We all enjoyed our meals - roast beef, roast pork, burger and ham, egg and chips, with apple crumble and a brownie to follow. Everything was cooked beautifully. The service was excellent, including some delicious Bloody Mary shots, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. We will definitly be visiting again soon.

Couldn't ask for a more accommodating and warm-hearted place. We were at the White Heart for a family engagement announcement and Danielle and co went above and beyond our expectations. We actually visited the night before after a 6+ hour drive and had a quick bite to eat then again on the day we had booked. As a bonus, dogs are welcome. Definitely recommend and will be back again in the future.

Really disappointed, wish I’d spent my birthday and money elsewhere. Food took so long to arrive, which was really annoying as we had to pre-order the day before. The Roast beef dinner, ( £20) the beef portion was tiny and the veg was cold and tough. I was expecting something special for that price. Not what was expected. The roast pork was really tough and the skin rather than being crispy was tough and inedible. We were all still hungry afterwards, so ordered a dessert. Most of the deserts were nice (chocolate brownie and cheesecake) apart from the fruit crumble. Not sure what happened to it but the crumble topping had been burnt and turned into bits of hard toffee which were inedible and hurt your teeth to eat. All in all we came out feeling disappointed. Very expensive for what we got. We have had much nicer roast dinners elsewhere!

The beer was very frothy and dripped all over glass, as they were brought to the table, perhaps they could have been wiped, we had to use napkins as mats. We were a table of 4. Three meals - chicken pie came out together- the fourth meal was 10 minutes late. The staff were clearly embarrassed. The pies were good, the 4th meal steak bavette - was not prepared correctly- therefore it was tough. Crumble for dessert was good, custard very thick, hard to get out of the tiny jug. This is a nice pub that we have been visiting for many years, it’s seems to be under new management again. Nice garden at the front, plenty of parking and within walking distance of the river Severn if you want a walk after your meal.

Just the right place for a mid-week lunch with friends. Good food in a atmospheric bar. Service was great and the food delicious. Mid-price and well worth it. Also lots of space to relax and if the weather had been better we could have been outside in a beautiful rural setting.

The menu was very restricted with a lot of options unavailable . We felt sorry for the front of house staff had to apologise for - no ham, no pies, no cheese. There had been 2 birthday parties during the day. Our table was booked a week ago and so it wasn't as if we weren't expected. Poor management of the pub and kitchen.

Today 16/08/2024 visited the pub for lunch. We both had the Steak and Ale pie, by far the best pie we have ever eaten out, Piping hot food, very tasty, we could taste every ingredient in the pie and was crammed full of meat. Just loved it and we will be back, to try the Sunday roast. Lovely friendly staff, who took time to engage with us. We highly recommend eating here, we eat out a lot and just know, when something you are eating is a bit more special. We watched food being taken to tables and it all looked beautifully presented and good sized portions.

Very good service. Many areas to choose to sit including outside. Tables are not too close. We had 2 starters each, both delicious: smoked salmon scotch egg and smoked mackerel pâté, attractively presented, and very good chips. Drank sparkling rosé, never tried before, very nice. We visited for Sunday lunch and were sat inside. The atmosphere was pretty flat and there were only 2 couples sat where we were. The staff we attentive and pleasant. I did have a wait a long time when I ordered a 2nd drink and had almost finished my meal before it arrived. We ordered roast which was very average and lack vegetable. The parsnips were under cooked. we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which did warrant the £7.50 price tag and should have been half the price. This is a great summer pub, if sat outside, and I feel it’s more geared toward the standard pub food as opposed to roasts

The squid was fantastic, but I have seemed to notice the quality and style of which the menu is prepared changes quite often, perhaps due to a constant change in chefs? Skinny fries were bang on, which is what I expect for such an establishment. However, I seemed to notice a chill when I sat down, usually the fires’ are roaring, but not on this occasion. Standards have dropped. Table service was slow/non existent had to order from the bar which had three people behind. Despite standards slightly dropping, I cant stop myself coming back! Xxxoxoxoxox

A lovely pub near footpath so can walk off the calories! Dog friendly, mention that when booking. Limited menu choice (5 mains). I chose a starter, fried halloumi sticks with greens. Quite solid to eat, not my favourite dish. However the other 3 in the party loved their burgers. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit dry but the lovely waitresses gave me some pouring cream. They also gave the dog a treat! All in all would recommend especially for the service and atmosphere.

It's a lovely pub, very historic and with friendly, welcoming staff. We went for Sunday Lunch as the White Hart has a good reputation for Sunday roasts. All three of us opted for Roast Beef but I'm afraid we were underwhelmed. The beef was stringy and chewy, the potatoes and carrots a bit leathery and the food was generally cool. It would have helped if the plates were hot not stone cold. The vegetables were good. We asked for and received extra gravy which was a mistake because I was left with wind problems for the rest of the afternoon! I don't normally write critical reviews but I'm afraid we were genuinely disappointed with the food.

This used to be a lovely pub, our go to place for a nice meal or even just lunch. Unfortunately in the last few years it has gone from bad to worse. The quality of the food has decreased. The menu is very basic and disappointing. There is now no lunch menu for sandwiches. You have to have a ploughman’s sharer for £19. Which we had and too be honest, very disappointed compared to the ploughman’s sharer that you used to get. Cheese had very little going for it, ham had as much fat as it did meat and pretty thin slice, sausage roll was nothing to shout about and nor was the scotch egg. The cider was flat. This is a shame as we would often go here for lunch or for dinner but definitely not our first choice now. The staff are not as welcoming as they were. Tell you need the app. In the middle of nowhere data doesn’t work and the Wi-fi outside is very slow. It took 15 mins before we were offered a drink and the place was dead! I mean there must’ve been 3 tables. Eventually after 20 mins of getting the app downloaded and an account set up managed to order some food. But as already stated the menu was disappointing. There doesn’t appear to be a menu for children. This experience was not as expected. Very disappointed as genuinely loved this place.

Really nice pub. Stumbled across it while driving looking for a spot to enjoy the evening sun. We sat out side in the lovely garden. Table service was really good and worthy of five stars, however I have to take a point off for the app. Due to the pandemic, every where you go now has online ordering, which is perfect and actually easier than standing at the bar... but the registration process is unnecessary and annoying. The majority of places don't require you to actually download an app and sign up, just a simple online ordering system is all that's needed. Also there was a sign as you walk into the garden saying "please wait to be seated" but there was no one around. Just put QR codes on the table and let people order, if it was easier you wouldn't need to give each customer personal instructions on how to download the app.

We have always enjoyed drinking and dining at the White Hart, so it was a pleasure to be back after so long, on a gloriously sunny day too. Starters and mains were both very good, staff were careful and considerate of Covid-related restrictions and the app ordering and payment system was surprisingly efficient: if others have had problems then any bugs must have been ironed out by the time that we arrived. What could have been a rushed and uncomfortable experience was, in fact, very enjoyable. We shall be back!

We visited Saturday evening with my parents and our young son.We were greated at the entrance and shown to our table.Plenty of hand sanitizer stations around and paper menus one per table in use.The waitress arrived to take our drinks order, the iPad she was using wasn't working so a replacement was sourced. Unfortunately she didn't really know what the bar stocked and spent a lot of time searching for drinks we asked for, no non-alcoholic beer/larger or j2o.Our food was ordered, it arrived about 20-30 mins later, I did keep explaining to my parents that everywhere was running on reduced staff and to be patient. My parents ordered fish & chips this arrived first, then a good 3-5 minutes later my husband's burger, then a few minutes later mine arrived, at this point I asked about my son's meal. The waiter came back and said it would be a few minutes, looked like it had been forgotten. When it did arrive the waiter said there would be no charge. My parents were concerned the staff didn't wear face masks, but they were keeping their distance from the tables, it didn't worry myself or husband. My parents had visited before and had lovely meals, this was a first for us.They were disappointed with their fish, apparently it wasn't as nice as what they had had previously. Maybe a new supplier in the current circumstances? The pub seemed very nice, tables were well spaced out and toilets clean. It was a shame the service wasn't great.

Came here on Monday with my family, we had the Cote de Beouf to share which was fantastic. We sat out in their lovely garden. The service from the team was very prompt and friendly, I have been here quite a few times and the food never disappoints. A great selection of food, beers and wine. Will be back soon I’m sure.

Visited recently for dinner with my family. Very friendly welcome to adults, children and the dog. Interesting menu to suit our various tastes, my son enjoying the cote de boeuf while the lobster was a hit with my daughter. A very enjoyable meal. Will definitely visit again soon.

We have previously eaten many times at The White Hart but this evening I was sadly disappointed. Really poor service. Cheap transport cafe salt and pepper pots , mediocre Luke warm food and staff that ignored us on numerous occasions. We waited over 20 minutes for drinks to arrive and asked for the billl three times - you can do so much better.Bring back Andres

1st time coming back here in about 18 months since Andrea left, but I can honestly say the food is absolutely gorgeous, i had probably one of the best meals here ever! And I cant leave the wonderful desert out, this has to be the best anywhere, also the lovely lady on the front of house at the front of the pub(long dark hair) was so friendly and welcoming! Well done to you all, I will be recommending you locally

We were a bit nervous. Our first pub since COVID 19 and we weren't even sure they were open or if we could eat. (Not a day to eat outside). We should not have worried. A very fine welcome and all well set out for distancing. It was such a delight and our 4 starters for the 2 of us were excellent. After all this time it was a great occasion to drop into a pub for lunch. So glad that we did and enjoyed the food and the super service. Thanks!

we decided to eat here as we were going for a walk in the area. We called ahead and booked and were permitted to park in the very spacious car park before setting off for our walk. We returned some 40 minutes early for our reservation since the walk did not take as long as advertised - no problem, we were shown to our table, we shortly had our drinks and then not long after our food arrived. Excellent food, couldn't fault it and despite being quite full, we decided to order desserts as well - once again, very nice food. The pub was clean, the service and food very good. It is a little out of the way so I don't know whether I shall return but hope I do - I am not one to write reviews unless prompted so I think the White Hart can take this as a well deserved pat on the back that I have bothered to write this.

We had an excellent lunch on 21/07/20 - a day after the pub reopened after lockdown. The staff were marvellous and every possible social distancing and sanitising requirement were observed. The fish and chips were fantastic - huge slabs of wonderfully crispy cod with double cooked chips and fresh tartare sauce and the mussels were to die for - sensational! You MUST try and eat here - a great experience all round - despite the very onerous and long winded app needed to order!

Excellent evening. Food well prepared and very tasty. The staff very friendly and attentive. The warm fireplaces and wood stoves made it very homely. Little tricky to find but google can figure it out. Great pub.

A nice pub in a lovely location. We ate here for lunch on New Years Day - sat at a table next to a roaring log fire, ate a delicious meal and enjoyed the atmosphere. My only slight criticism was how cold it was due to the toilet block being in a separate building. Made me all the more happy to get back to the fire though!

As an old regular during the 80’s, 90’s and early 00’s this used to be a wonderful pub! Just been and I am absolutely blown away at the level of cleanliness and hygiene! Filthy pub, disgusting toilets and in need of deep clean!

Decided to come out of our way and try somewhere a bit further afield for us (came from weston-super-mare) and was not disappointed. Lovely setting with excellent service, Dave in particular was really good and gave some awesome food recommendations. The pork bites with blue cheese special was very tasty but the mains were amazing. The recommended braised ox cheek just melted in the mouth and the burger was perfectly cooked with the a good amount of toppings. 9/10... only a 9 cos it's so far away from where we live

Just had a family lunch of 11 of us. The service was impeccable, the variety of food on offer was sufficient and different from usual pub fayre with very tasty curries. Biryani was full of flavour, with good vegetarian and children's options. Trad Sunday lunch excellent with fresh veg. The staff were so friendly and attentive on what was a very busy day. Decor and cleanliness tip top. A real pleasure, we were looked after very well from start to finish. Prices reasonable too, although the desserts may need to be rebalanced between cost and quantity. A lovely lunch for all. Thank you. Steve + 10

Chips were excellent, just a shame a large chips £4.20 was served in there smallest box. Dread to think what a small chip portion would look like .

Take a punt on the Grumpy Griffin. It might be your lucky day but then again you might regret it. A mixed set of results from customers. Mine was negative. No real ale. Only a few peeps on Sunday mid-afternoon and one was drunk as a Lord and seemingly spoiling for trouble. Background music was fine. Quality tv showing a premiership game. Just cider, lager and Guinness on tap. Feels like a local pub where others are not made welcome.
