Lovely food, professional, friendly staff, and a warm, cosy environment. Child friendly, with a substantial play area to the rear. We will definitely return to this local gem. Thank You All

Nice enough meal but you can't really go wrong with Ham, egg and chips. Not a lot on the menu although there were items on the specials board but 3 of those were sold out! Desserts rather expensive and so we skipped dessert and had coffee instead. Staff polite and pleasant.

Went with family for an evening meal. Unfortunately not a great experience I had the sausage and mash but could not eat it as the potato was very peppery and gravy quite lumpy. The chilli beef wraps were OK but the cheese over the top of them was only part melted so ended up taking it all off. Was seated in the top section next to the door and as people were in and out constantly meals were cold very quickly. Not the best experience unfortunately on this occasion. On the plus side, as a rule the meals are large and lovely so maybe just a one off.

A table was booked for 12 people the day before But had a Very bad experience this time. waited 1hr for food..we only had it in the end ,as I had to ask how much longer was it going to be I could see that the restaurant was being served 1st. Eventually it was brought out into the marquee.. With no order of cutlery or condiments. Until we asked as no one knew what they were doing our food came out luke warm, roast potatoes were dry & tasted disgusting.. Garlic bread was put on to serve with mains .as we originally wanted it as a starter.. It was a complete shambles, and when we spoke to the owner he was rude & his customer service. Needs serious attention.. All we got was you should have pre ordered.. Poor excuse!! He knew we had been forgotten about in the marquee .. And Would have been better to have owned up Been there before & food was good, but no apologies at all..

Lovely place, great food (great portions!), & nice play area for the kids. Knocked off a star as there were a couple of mistakes made with our desserts, which meant one of us went without. Not the end of the world, obviously, but still a shame. Would happily return though!

We went there for our daughter in law 30th birthday meal I had cod & chips with peas , the cod was very large and great value for money. I would recommend the new inn. It's spot on. And everyone there said the same.

Well this pub is an absolute little gem and deserves every good review it gets, staff very friendly and the landlord will do his upmost to serve you what ever you want on your plate, 100% you will not leave this pub hungry wanting anymore food, i’m still stuffed 12 hours later.

Im probably like most people and only leave a review if the experience was really good or really bad so just had to leave one for what were the best steaks we've had in a long time (we all had the 10z sirloin) so flavoursome and tender. It was nice to have steak with all the trimmings, most places now seem to want to charge you for the extras but here you get steak, chips, side salad, peas, mushrooms and grilled tomato and just pay extra if you want to add a sauce (to which I might add they do the best Stilton sauce I've ever had - my son even liked it and he doesn't like Stilton). Can't fault the meal at all in fact so good going again with the girls on our next meal out. We'll done New Inn!!

Nice country pub. Meals plentiful, but only comment would be about the overload of gravy. Would probably be better with a gravy boat to allow you to put your own on and not miss out the Yorkshire. My roast potatoes very a bit squishy because of this but food was very nice otherwise. Sorry just had to mention it in passing.

Cracking pub with great food. Top chef working the kitchen. Very engaging atmosphere with smiles on everyone's faces. Kids have a lovely play area outside, with plenty of tables for adults to relax...

Wow what a place, went there for my husband's 65th birthday meal with family, the staff, food and drinks were amazing , a big shout out to the landlord Mark who was super friendly and very helpful, thankyou all for the great service, i would highly recommend this place..we will certainly be returning.. Plenty of parking also and a lovely garden and children's play area..

Very rare I write a review but this place absolutely deserves one! From the moment we set foot inside we were greeted by the loviest staff, given a little tour around as it was our first time visiting! The service from start to finish was just brilliant the food absolutely amazing!! Will definitely be returning soon 😊

Lovely, family-friendly pub. We went for dinner with our 3 children aged 2-8. All of the team were friendly and the food was great, traditional pub grub. The play area is great and kept our kids occupied for a couple of hours. Would definitely reccommend.

Brilliant little family run pub, only live down the road l so very convenient to me and my other half and kids. Food and service is exceptional they can't do enough to be at hand with the excellent service. Portions are beyond belief believe me on this one.

Friendly place but the food is more size over substance. Huge meals that you probably won’t finish that aren’t actually that tasty.

First visit and probably the last. We visited for a couple of drinks and very quickly felt that we were not as welcome as diners. We sat outside as the weather was great so were given plastic glasses. There were no ashtrays outside so I went in and asked for one and was informed the smoking area was at the other end. An area next to the kitchen and not that nice. For a pub claiming to be a real ale and cider pub a choice of two real ales and one traditional cider is disappointing. I went for the Adnams Ghost Ship, it was not up to the standard I would expect. In summary a great location and building (mind your head) but let down by the beer and service.

Had lunch in here today. The "best" Sunday roast I've ever had!! Only ordered the smaller portion and I struggled with that. Huge portions of food, delicious and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking when I arrived early but car park was full when I left but that's no surprise. All staff were very friendly, extremely efficient but just want to give a big shout out to the very young lad that took our drinks order, so polite and professional, he even knew all about the types of wine when asked, he did an amazing job!!.. Fantastic pub, no wonder they are always busy!! 😊

I cannot rate this pub enough. The food is phenomenal, the service is brilliant. The meals are huge.....HUGE (they reduce it if you ask) and they have no issues with you having whay ever you want, they way you want it. Its my favourite pub to go to for special family meals......by far the best pub around x

Called to enquire if we could hold a wake there, following a funeral. The staff LAUGHED & said no, we don't do wakes. Appalling.

Lovely classic pub with great food and outdoor facilities for the kids!

Food plentiful service was fast and efficient. However, the server was a bit abrupt when taking order ( maybe bad day)

Building was from the 1600’s so mind you head on the low cross beams! Fantastic character, brick walls showcasing its history and large open fireplaces. A real rustic feel. Food looks expensive but trust me you won’t be leaving hungry. The portion sizes are big so it’s money well spent and it’s not microwaved food either. Steak and ale pie has proper chunks of steak, slow cooked as it falls apart and it’s all lean, no fat or gristle. You can taste the ale in the gravy too. Really can’t fault this place except if you order something with salad, the salad is a bit lack luster. Could do with a dressing or dollop of coleslaw, but honestly can’t remove a star for that. After all it’s a pub and it’s good hearty food, not a fancy restaurant.

Absolutely brilliant, food is superb! Lovely atmosphere. Would go there any night of the week.

The place was nice . The food was massive. Almost too much, i struggled . The prices weren't cheap but you get what you pay for.

I visit the New Inn occasionally, simply to sample the amazing quality of the food there. I have never been left disappointed, every meal is always cooked to perfection, & served piping hot, my favourite, being the mixed grill,…absolutely superb, & I doubt if you will go anywhere else after trying this. Full credit also, to the hardworking bar staff & waitresses there. Fabulous!

Eaten here twice in one week. Extensive menu of pub grub favourites and big portions. Big slab of lemon cheesecake was lovely.

The food is very good but, portions too large. I wanted a light bite but apparently only available at lunch times. I did ask for a small meal as I knew I would be unable to eat a full meal. However there was no facility for my request. I therefore had a meal costing £17.95 of which I only ate half. Such a waste of food and money

Always excellent quality food, large portions, reasonable prices. Spent £15 per person for the weekday lunch menu and drink each.

First visit in awhile, food arrived within an adequate time, was very presentable and hot. Portions generous. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely fab service and food at The New Inn as always. They're particularly great at dealing with large crowds. We had a big baby shower group in the back room and the team asked if we needed help setting up, food was served swiftly and correctly even with changes made and everyone was happy with their food. Thank you so much! We will always be back for more!

Very large portions of food, so good value but overwhelming. Good service but encouraging you to spend more by pushing extras. Not much space, as customers are crammed in.

Visited on the off chance for Sunday lunch, we were lucky to get a table (opposite the bar) - so glad we could, the Beef roast was fantastic, lots of meat, pots and vegetables - everything was piping hot, including the gravy. Service was excellent, and would definitely recommend, but unless you want to be disappointed I advise you book in advance!

Went for a Friday solo lunch and saw that they did T Bone Steak. All the staff were friendly and Steak was cooked to my liking as medium. Dessert of Ice cream Raspberry Sundae was just right. Only minor critisism if that T Bone presentation could have been a little better but it did not effect the enjoyment.

This is the second year of having a work Christmas meal here, the food is so good! Huge portions, great tasty food. Everyone happy in the party. Veggie Christmas meal very good too.

We we're there with nine others, the meal was pre ordered, the place was very busy, we had to wait one and a half hours for the meal to arrive . The main meal was filled high on the plates,the food was quite nice but I thought lacked taste, too be fair I was the only person in our group with this opinion...

Great food, great portions & great service!

Amazing food, lovely people, excellent service. We went there on the 8th December and they had crackers, on every table, ready for the customers to use them. I can’t wait to go again next time and visit the playground with my son 🛝

We visited just prior to Christmas on a Wednesday lunch time. There was plenty of staff meaning the service was good. The food especially the Christmas lunch was really very good with plenty of meat and well cooked vegetables. Overall a very good experience. Will definitely visit again.

I would say booking is essential. This is a popular place to eat and it's understandable. The food was fantastic, really great portion sizes. If you are a lover of sticky toffee pudding, leave room for it. The best I've had.

Went to the New Inn today 6th Dec as a table of 4. Arrived at 1245. Seated and ordered by 1300. The table was squashed in a corner so not the best. Drinks orders taken by a waitress food orders taken by a man. Food arrived 45 minutes later and was lovely. Fish and chips and Gammon Steak and eggs. At 1430 I went looking for our waitress and asked her to clear the plates and bring dessert menus. That's an hour after food was delivered. 30 minutes later she still hadn't been back for our dessert order so we paid and left. It's unfortunate. The food was really good. Please, please keep an eye on tables. I know you were very busy but the waitress was clearing and wiping tables when people had left rather than attending to those still on the premises. We will come back but please can we be looked after and not ignored. We wanted to enjoy a 2 course meal and drinks. Didn't get a second drink. We spent half what we intended to.

My wife and I had Sunday roast there was plenty of potatoes veg and stacks of chicken and lamb best Sunday roast we’ve had in a long time also the sundaes are to die for very friendly staff

Great portions but prices a bit high but quality was there. Good selection of beers. I am sure it could be turned into a trendy modern gastro type pub if someone wants to spend half a million. No need it's traditional pub

The food was very underwhelming and seemed like the vegetables were from a frozen packet and also had a strange smell and taste. The staff were not very attentive either.

Just average really, everything needed to be warmer, lots of dishes with crisp bacon, but only soft tasteless bacon covered with cheese was served.

Highly recommended to anyone who is passing, staff very friendly and welcoming,food outstanding real value for money you will never leave there hungry 😋 and we will definitely be going there again.

It was quite busy but they managed to squeeze me and my partner in. He had the mixed grill, I had a gammon steak. We are still taken back by how delicious it was! The portions were huge, which we loved. Sadly we didn't have room for dessert but we WILL be back in the near future. The owner was funny and welcoming too! Thank you ever so much

Disappointed really, recommended by friend, just honest pub grub. 6 or 7 dishes spoke of crispy bacon, I had 2 of these dishes thinking of stripes of crispy bacon laid across the food, but none in sight. Everything needed to be hotter. Shame.

Visited The New Inn for Sunday lunch with friends. Really delicious - we had beef and lamb with all the trimmings. Fresh veg and Yorkshire pudding for us all. Staff very friendly and certainly would go back again and recommend to friends.

Lovely pub but poor customer service. Served with drinks but left after 45 mins as food order had still not been taken. Noisy group on tables next to us. Waiters/waitresses passed our table numerous times. Could see that menu's were still on our table and that we were clearly waiting. After 35 mins asked a waiter when he was passing if we could be served and he said that he would get the waitress dealing with our table. She still did not come. Left after paying drinks bill. Staff behind bar informed us that busy and apologised. Not good enough. If we had been told when waiting that they were busy and that there would be a wait then it would have been fine but nothing. Very disappointing. Had a meal at another pub nearby to celebrate mothers 84th birthday.

Sharing platter was a mistake, it was just a plate full of carbohydrates. 😒 I wish I'd order something else. Maybe one day I I'll come back to check other dishes. Service, and the pub itself it very nice though.

After numerous people saying how good the place is we finally made the effort & went.I had a mixed grill & the wife had chicken with a cheese sauce.Both were beautifully cooked & the portions were huge.Many thanks we shall 100% be back.

But disappointed really. I totally understand that they were rushed off their feet but , as a business owner myself, I do know you should let the stress show in front of customers. The landlord was clearly stressed and a bit cross with the staff and the lady behind the bar was very offish. No please or thank you. The young staff in black were great. Friendly and trying their best. Felt quite uncomfortable. On a lighter note, the food was fine.
