Plough Inn in South Gloucestershire

Always a warm welcome from all staff. Nothing too much trouble. Never had a bad meal yet. Sundays are always busy as the Roasts are superb.

I stopped here on the chance of spending the night in my campervan, the bar lady was extremely friendly and helpful. Cost £10 to spend the night in the car park next to their camping field which is equip with toilet, cdp and fresh water tap. I opted to order a meal which was fantastic and a non alcoholic larger. I will be visiting again with my wife in tow next time. WOULD RECOMMEND.

We stayed here twice in our motorhome for 10 GBP and had a great dinner.

They have a large field with plenty of fruit trees. We were able to take some home.

We were able to spend the night there with our camper. The restaurant was packed so the food was apparently very good. We didn't eat there because it was so full, but we hung out at the bar and had a nice chat and a drink.

The Plough Inn, Pilning. We stayed at this fab Britstop pub in Pilning near Bristol (postcode) BS35 4JJ last night. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the busy pub where lots of friendly locals were being treated to a live music evening. Our three Border Collies were welcomed into the pub whilst we ate in the friendly atmosphere. There was plenty of space to park and stay overnight and a clean & tidy toilet available for overnighters in the field together with a small park for the children and walking space for the dogs. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS THAT I HAVE BEEN HERE AND WE WERE NOT DISSAPOINTED, THE FOOD WAS LOVELY ALTHOUGH MY PEAS WERE A LITTLE HARD BUT IT DID NOT SPOIL THE MEAL (MORE ABOUT FEEDBACK THAN COMPLAINT) AND WE WOULD DEFINATELY RETURN. INFACT IT'S GREAT TO SEE THAT WITH BEING A LITTLE OUT IN THE STICKS THEY HAVE WEATHERED THE PANDEMIC AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN THROWN AT THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. KEEP IT UP.

Excellent lunch meet at the Plough today. The food was very good, with an extensive menu, which I feel could be halved, but good quality. I recommend the garlic chicken in white wine sauce. Delicious! We will be back. :) xx

A lovely place for a meeting and socialising and still welcoming

Visited as a stop over in our Motorhome,we missed Sunday lunch but they put us up a take away which was excellent. We played bingo, watched rugby and chatted with the staff and regulars who couldn't have been more welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

Good country pub. We've been here for live music & quiet drinks. I understand the food is good, from other people, but haven't tried it myself yet. Hope to soon.

What a lovely friendly pub. The food was lovely, especially the lamb and mint pie, portions are big. Definitely come again 8f in this area.

Fantastic food. Went there today for lunch with hubby, myself and our neighbour. All decided to have pie, hubby had steak, I had steak and Stilton and neighbour had lamb in mint gravy, we had it with chips and peas. The pies were delicious and so much rich gravy. Can highly recommend. Will have to try the lamb and mint pie next time I go there. Lovely staff. Brilliant service. Well done!

1st stop off on our road trip , the early evening weather was glorious , we ordered food and drinks , I highly recommend the lamb and mint pie. Later on in the evening we were entertained by a local singer who’s music talents didn’t let us down. Thank you “the plough” our next stop his Taunton .

Stayed last weekend with a caravan rally. Landlord very helpful and runs a great friendly pub. Staff very much on top of things. Food was highly recommended by our members dining. 6X and Henry's on tap. Lager's etc available. Back again next year without doubt.

Great local friendly pub With a lovely vibe

Six of us went for the roast on last Sunday before Christmas.The place was busy but not crowded.They offer a choice of roast meats in three different size portions ,children’s ,medium and large. All of us went for the large option as we were not familiar with their portion sizes.After a reasonable wait considering how busy it was ,we were each served with a huge plate of food. I had the beef which was tender, tasty and of a more than generous amount.There was a good variety of vegetables on the plate topped by two Yorkshire puddings.The food was tasty but we found the large size portion to be somewhat overwhelming and unless you are really hungry I would recommend the medium size portion. We thought it was excellent value for money , good filling grub with no pretensions of being a gastronomic experience.

Visited for a private function which they appear to be fully prepared for; a marquee adjoining the main building and food prepared and set out. A stage is available for entertainment, and free parking seems an ideal venue. I've eaten there before and found it good.

Good food including a children's menu all at reasonable prices. Really friendly staff. Traditional pub. Clean throughout I think it's a hidden gem.There is a small children's play area to the rear.

We attended The Plough for a Wedding party with a meal on a Friday evening. Event was held in a marquee. Excellent service and food. 100 guests kept happy. Certainly would return to this pub for a meal. Excellent.

Not been here for many years and glad we did. What a lovely lunch. Menu had loads to choose from, something to suit everyone. Not a long wait and all meals arrived looking delicious and hot. We all enjoyed the meals and the great service. Will definitely be back.

Popped in The Plough for a bite to eat with chums the other day as part of a walk on a lovely clear sunny April day. I had fishcakes, chips and mushy peas, served with a wedge of lemon. My friends chose ham egg and chips, the all-day breakfast and a burger. Food arrived quickly and was all of it cooked nicely and tasted great. All washed down with a choice of Wadworth's beers. My 3 fish cakes were standard, chip-shop fayre, being small, crispy and a bit fishy. The chips were crisp and hot, the mushy peas exactly as you'd expect, so the dish was very like what you'd get from the local chippy. Staff were young, cheerful, polite and helpful. All-in-all, a spot-on example of decent inexpensive, unadventureous, fresh-fried pub food - sometimes that's exactly what you want!

Wow ! Just had Christmas dinner served here, was the best ever, not your usual pub grub, lol, every thing from the Stilton soup to the roast beef, that was so tender and cooked to perfection, the cheese cake was delish. the attention to detail was more like a five star restaurant, compliments to the chef, and all your staff was perfect. Thank you

Always a nice welcome. Prices are incredibly reasonable with good quality fresh food served daily. I've never had a less than great meal here. Also a nice garden area adjacent to the canal.

Hadn't been here for a long time until recently. Staff are very nice and welcoming, pub seems a tad run down tho. I know they run some events so I'm hoping to catch one soon and maybe I'll see a different side to the pub. It was very quiet during the day on my last 2 visits.
