I have a takeaway carvery every week and it is so delicious. It’s my favourite meal of the week, full of lovely fresh vegetables and lovely lean meats, completed with the most tasty sausage. Would highly recommend this lovely pub.

I come here at least once a week and have done for several years. The carvery is excellent, succulent meats and very fresh veg, with a takeout option too. All the staff are very friendly - Terri and Chris, Amy, Carl, Jess, Jess, Jenny, Lewis, Courteney and Alison. The other menu choices are good too, pizzas especially. Cannot fault the Masons Arms at all

This spot is perfect! The staff in all departments were more than delightful. Specifically Amy who I spoke to upon arriving, They made me and the family feel very welcome. Will definitely be returning!!

I visit here at least once a week usually for their excellent carvery and occasionally for their amazing buffet breakfast. The food is exceptional, good choice of very fresh veg coupled with superb meat joints. Thank you to Terri, Chris, Jess and Alison who are always friendly on my visits and always professional in the way they interact with customers. Highly recommended and great value, I have been coming here for years and would not choose anywhere else.

We arrived and were made to feel very welcome. We were seated promptly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our carvery. Our visit was just perfect so no improvement needed.

The carvery well we're should I start. On arrival we went up to look at the food it was all dried out carrots were going black in places bubble n squeak was hard as rock cabbage was crisp n burnt the peas were brown mash was also dried out we had to Tel the chef to change it all which she did not like the supervisor also told her to change it which she started to do so we paid for the carvery then went up to get it she started to serve us then we realised the meet was all dried up to do. Said wed v the cut after the first. Wow she started being very rude so we said we would get are money back so went to til got refund and was told Amy is always like this towards customers. On leaving the premises we were. Follow out by supervisor and she apologised. Profusely to us but it was to late for that. I'm absolutely disgusted with this place even the carpets were filthy which I noticed on the way out food hygiene. Needs to be assessed at this place so I am not going to give it any stars as it's awful I would even let my dog eat there after witnessing this good luck to you if you do decide to eat here and make sure you got plenty of andrex tissue paper that's all I can say

Good food, well cooked and nice folk working there. Atmosphere gets 3 stars because honestly, it’s a carvery not the Royal Albert Hall. Excellent for twelve quid a pop

Excellent service from staff, food was very tasty I have visited a couple of times the staff are always polite but its does get busy around 9.30am as I like visiting for breakfast

Turned away at 8:02 despite the place being empty and a whole carvery full of food and website saying they close at 9

Our family of 5 called in for lunch at 2pm last Sunday to find no beef,a carcass of turkey and a tiny piece of ham.On checking we were told that the next piece of beef would be ready at 5pm.No wonder the place was almost empty.

Why I was on business in Bristol for the weekend and not too far away where I was staying, I thought I see how this Stonegate pub would compare to the one back home and I have to say the breakfast was better cooked and on the plus side was available without having to ask or wait for it to come out, the toaster however didn’t toast properly and the L shape counter top where it sits doesn’t really work with the tea and coffee being next to each other, because of the shape as you have to wait to use either facility when someone is using either one. The Decor is as dreary as the one back home and could do with a makeover, slightly cleaner, not by much. Value for money 👍.

Had food here this evening and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful! The pizzas were spot on (my children said better than dominos) and the fish was battered beautifully. Desserts were just as enjoyable and the team (Terri, Alison, Lewis and Andy) were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We left the premises feeling happy and full :)

Only disappointment no beer on tap. Only beer available was kept in the fridge so way too cold for a beer.Very hot carvery and very pleasant staff.

Had another lovely carvery last night . Staff were amazing and helpful nothing to much trouble great service food was very tasty compliments to the chefs . cant wait for the next one

Such friendly staff in this place, they were going above and beyond to help out my family with our meal. Very accommodating as I wanted food for 3 people and a takeaway, which they bought out to me when I was near to the end of the meal. Helped me with queries and condiments. The food was brilliant too..

Delicious carvery. Arrived at 3:30pm, and surprised and pleased that the carvery still open. I had the veggie option - lovely root vegetable and camembert. OH had turkey- said it was very tasty. Very reasonably priced. Staff friendly. Would recommend.

Amazing breakfast, eggs superb here not like those dried up ones you get in other establishments.. hash browns crunchy . Bacon cooked just how I like it. Chef has some good skills

Had a carvery at the masons today, Once again the food was and tasty and hot! Great value for money too! Head chef Chris always chatty and cheerful as always and Jess and Alison from FOH very attentive and friend, all very much appreciated on this bitterly cold day!

Don’t bother going to this place staff are rude and can’t cope with more than 15 customers we’ve been going here for years and won’t be back the chef needs to sort out his attitude towards paying customers

The all you can eat breakfast great value for money, also a lovely place to come for a carvery or evening meal, highly recommended.

The pub itself could do with a bit of a refurbishment. looks a bit tired and was a bit cold Despite this we would come back due to the service , friendly staff and quality of food, the carvery was good, nice and hot and good value for money, starters were all freshly cooked and piping hot, we felt there was a good menu selection, 2 particular staff members Ann and Alison were lovely

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good. Only issue was the state of the mens toilets but apart from that myself and my partner had a very good time

We went as a family of 5. Busy weekend lunchtime, but we had pre-booked via the website, which worked really well. Table service was efficient by Liana. 2 of us upgraded to king size - really generous amount of meats. Value for money was reasonable. We had a good experience and will go again. R ticket 258

The food has been lovely every time me and my family have been in, we come in every week and highly recommend. Alison has always gone above and beyond to accommodate us and she is always so friendly, the children love her!

Everything was perfect as is every other time that we have visited. This is by far, my favourite restaurant ever. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, the restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere and the layout is very good. There is nothing as far as I am concerned to improve.

Had a really lovely evening as we always do. The Chef is very good to have a chat with and his food he cooks is excellent. Also the two women who work to keep it running smoothly are both friendly and very welcoming . Find the younger one not so happy or accommodating. Over all a lovely place to go

Pretty awful food. The sprouts were tiny frozen ones, the gravy was tasteless and the roast potatoes weren’t one bit crispy. The vegan option of plant based chicken ended up being two dry plain Quorn fillets, I’m not sure which was worse…the way they looked or the way they tasted. We were unable to have the mash, presumably made with butter and cows milk, but could’ve easily been made vegan with vegan butter and oat milk. Overall, just really disappointing food.

extremely disappointing, freshly supplied beans were cold, vegetarian sausages arrived 20 minutes after being ordered, bread for toast was frozen.

Food was ok it's was busy , service was ok on the carvery slow on the pizzas low on staff I think , Overall nice staff were friendly if a bit over worked.

On our way home from shopping, popped in for a quick bite, very quick service and very polite and friendly staff, especially Amy.

Visited recently with family. Service was excellent and quick and we couldn’t fault the food in any way, which was cooked perfectly by Amy. Will definitely come back.

Cheap and cheerful. Tasteless food like school dinners

We overall enjoyed our visit so this review is mixed, the good points were- the vegetables were hot and cooked well but the meat was fatty. The fish and chips was a small portion, the fish was more batter than fish and not many chips. The sticky toffee pudding was small and dry with not a lot of custard. The staff were lovely, but understaffed, we were left with dirty dishes on the table, when we asked for them to be cleared the young girl was very apologetic and did so immediately. The worse part was when we visited the toilets before leaving, the ladies were dirty and smelly, feet sticking to the floor, rusty, dirty radiator below the hand dryer, just a general damp and dingy atmosphere, my husband said the gents were the same. It’s worth mentioning that when we arrived the car park was pitch black, very difficult to see where we were walking.

The Carvery was superb, just the right amount of food and a great selection of veg. Pigs in blankets were a big plus for me.

Very poor service, long wait for ordering food, when I finally ordered I was then told what I wanted wasn't available twice so ended up with a third choice of mains. Then the food took ages to come out when it did it was very poorly presented and not cooked properly, half way through my mains, my starter arrived again, which was burnt! The chef was walking around the restaurant with a face like thunder and was very rude when asked to re cook another tables meal again due to it being not cooked. I thought surely the dessert couldn't go wrong ? How wrong I was once again another extremely long wait, and it was unedable. I'd definitely give this place a miss I for one will never go back. There was one girl I didn't get her name but she was lovely and tried her best bit she's let down by the rest of the miserable staff.

A very lovely place to eat with lots of lovely staff to talk to. Very nice food and it's always nice to visit. All of the staff are very welcoming and friendly and make you feel at home, Alison outshines by being kind and caring and one of the best staff going.

We had 2 carvery’s one being the plant chicken which tasted amazing We also had 2 brownie’s and ice cream puddings that only took a few minutes to come out but as we were so stuffed from the fantastic carvery I feared we would be...

They had run out of beef so decided on fish and chips, but they had also run out of fish. Ended up with burger, not nice cheap meat and chips had obviously been kept warm fo ages. Very disappointing.

This is our new local having just moved to the area. Every time we’ve visited we’ve been really pleased. The offers are great, it’s got a nice atmosphere, all the staff are friendly and helpful. Carvery has always been good, plus the other menu meals we’ve ordered have been good. Bottomless ice cream is a great idea, (when the machine works 🙈) Thank you to Chris the chef, and all the other staff
