Visited Sunday, so busy. Lady at the door checked if our table was ready unfortunately some people had over stayed their time slot but the nice lady rearranged her bookings and fit us onto a different table. What a relief , we had 4 roasts and 6 burgers the food was quick and very nice . Great place to eat and very accommodating personnel

Good food, great service, friendly atmosphere.

Popped in for a coffee between jobs, and observed the place was busy, people enjoying themselves and full of conversation. Having started my day at 5.30 am, and hitting the place at 11.30, by 12.30 the carvery was already going down, so i quickly ordered a medium carvery, took my ticket to the chef, who was Terri i believe, moaned my coffee would be cold in jest by the time i got back to my table as the que was relentless. Anyway sat down for my food, which was lovely, the veg was great, the greens were green, the roasties were golden and crispy, the meat was tender. Had the beef, and i honestly say it was beautiful. I didnt expect an apology for a comment i said in jest about my coffee, and a new fresh one to be delivered. Exceptional service, polite staff, and all doing what they do under pressure. Well done to the team.

We had a lovely dinner out with our family and grandsons with helpful friendly service and good value for money food in a pleasant setting.

So disappointed, chef serving Carvery , rude and unfriendly, and mean with meat portions. Veg overcooked, soggy and tasteless . Extra payment required if pigs in blankets wanted . Toilets dirty . Other members of staff were nice .

The staff was nice pleasant very helpful, it was peaceful , as we could have a conversation without having to talk over our heads , when other customers who talk really loud and no kids running around or screaming, nice peaceful place.

Sunday Carvery was good. Great selection of food and the staff were friendly and efficient. The main thing that let the venue down was the appearance. It looks quite run down from outside. Inside was OK but the toilets weren't clean (there was actually excrement on the back of one of the toilet doors!!). The radiators all look really rusty and made the inside look really tatty. It's a shame as the food and service was good but I wouldn't want to stop there again.

Came here for a carvery lunch and a cooked breakfast on different days. Lovely, hot, plentiful food, pleasant and helpful staff and a nice cosy interior. Not a gastro pub by any means but a good quality affordable eatery.

Great price for an all you can eat English Breakfast. All food fresh and hot. Plenty of free parking. Clean and tidy establishment. Will certainly return.

Good food. Roast beef was beyond excellent.

Lunchtime carvery. Very quiet there. Plenty of room for a reasonable meal but it went cold quickly.

Food was very bland no taste and the meat was really fatty vegetables no taste at all won’t be returning

Ok for a budget restaurant, food was lovely and hot but the service was pretty poor due to lack of staff, poor lady behind the bar was pretty much doing everything very little support.

I love carvery, and the Masons Arms provide that and more.

Food was okay and the kids menu is decent but the service was really awful. Never seemed to be any staff available or checking tables. We had to wander about looking for a staff member to ask for our desserts to be served after waiting about 40 minutes as no one came to clear the table and were then told that what we had ordered was not available. Restaurant was not busy so not sure why the service was so bad. There are other pubs in the area which I would try before going back here.

Stopped off on a journey south, to what seemed an inviting local country pub. Once seated we ordered from the set menu and paid through the app so you would assume things would move quicker? Sadly not... our starters arrived, no drinks, asked a member of staff, and then soon after the main courses arrived but no drinks, asked a member of staff again, still no drinks arrived. Shortly thereafter my wife then finished her meal and so I approached the bar asking if it would be easier if I served myself, as a printed ticket sitting lonely on the back of the bar was picked up and notice it was our drinks order.... the drinks arrived! The reason? We only have two staff on today... I saw no more than eight occupied tables so mustve been more than two can handle... The food was nice the service was abysmal and we won't be stopping here on our way back from our weekend break.

Love coming here for our girly breakfast catch ups, staff are always polite and friendly and welcoming. Always recommend to everyone I know.

Food was inedible. Ordered Simple Cheeseburger, the burger was served with frozen chips which hadn’t been cooked for long enough and I didn’t even try the burger, it actually looked like it had come from a tin. It had no colour and looked as though it had been boiled. We will never return. Was a busy Saturday in August and there were only 4 others in the whole pub. Wasn’t great that the server also delivered the food whilst chomping on a lollipop.

After looking up on the website to see whether dogs were allowed....yes if we'll behaved....packed dogs into car only to find a notice on the door dogs only in garden ...lady at door said website wasn't able to update website....really???? Proceeded to sit at table......tried to order as we had dogs off ordering site....went through everything only to find table number does not exist ....really table 203 as stated on table.... Partner went in to order.... Food ok but nothing special... Advice don't bother with their website....all wrong ..... Won't be returning......

Was a late lunch so marks may have been affected. Food excellent and value great. Friendly staff, however barman poured out a wrong wine to what was asked for. Would I go back, absolutely.

Just what I expect from a Stonehouse. Everything was cooked the way I love it.

I had booked a table for 6.30pm we got stuck on traffic on the m4 travelling up from Brighton, I called to say we would be late and would arrive at 7.45pm . When we arrived at 7.50 we were told the restaurant was only serving food until 8pm, then the chef came out the kitchen and said she had closed the kitchen. I explained we had been travelling for 4 hours with my 2 young children and my 80 year old mother but the chef didn’t care . We where forced to leave with out any food, I got back in the car and looked on the restaurants app to find a table could still be booked up till 8.30 pm, I was most disappointed.

Brilliantly priced. Had a nice gluten carvery, the beef was good. Nice Canzone and fish & chips. Staff were helpful. The only thing they lacked was a gluten free lager. They had breakfast etc, which we didn't have, but I would go again.

Not very good gone down in my hesitation won't be visiting for a while.

Stopped by for breakfast, all you can eat, and it was very tasty. The chef went to the effort of making fresh eggs for us even though it was only a few minutes to then of service. Thank you

Excellent carvery food especially the meat and roast potatoes. However the restaurant is grubby with thick dust on table bases, window sills and chair frames. Our table was not clean and had food residue stuck to the menu stand. The floor was not clean but I guess, unlike the other issues, could have been a day's worth of spillages. Dust and grim however accumulate over a a much longer period of time. The problem seems to be that only one member of staff is clearing tables, cleaning tables, serving food and drinks and is clearly overworked. We noted that the cleaning of tables between customers was, at best, cursory. It is shame that a restaurant with such a good food product is let down by these issues. I doubt we will return.

I visit here at least once a week usually for their excellent carvery and occasionally for their amazing buffet breakfast. The food is exceptional, good choice of very fresh veg coupled with superb meat joints. Thank you to Terri, Chris, Jess and Alison who are always friendly on my visits and always professional in the way they interact with customers. Highly recommended and great value, I have been coming here for years and would not choose anywhere else.

Fantastic food, great staff and wonderful environment

We arrived and were made to feel very welcome. We were seated promptly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our carvery. Our visit was just perfect so no improvement needed.

The carvery well we're should I start. On arrival we went up to look at the food it was all dried out carrots were going black in places bubble n squeak was hard as rock cabbage was crisp n burnt the peas were brown mash was also dried out we had to Tel the chef to change it all which she did not like the supervisor also told her to change it which she started to do so we paid for the carvery then went up to get it she started to serve us then we realised the meet was all dried up to do. Said wed v the cut after the first. Wow she started being very rude so we said we would get are money back so went to til got refund and was told Amy is always like this towards customers. On leaving the premises we were. Follow out by supervisor and she apologised. Profusely to us but it was to late for that. I'm absolutely disgusted with this place even the carpets were filthy which I noticed on the way out food hygiene. Needs to be assessed at this place so I am not going to give it any stars as it's awful I would even let my dog eat there after witnessing this good luck to you if you do decide to eat here and make sure you got plenty of andrex tissue paper that's all I can say

Good food, well cooked and nice folk working there. Atmosphere gets 3 stars because honestly, it’s a carvery not the Royal Albert Hall. Excellent for twelve quid a pop

Our family of 5 called in for lunch at 2pm last Sunday to find no beef,a carcass of turkey and a tiny piece of ham.On checking we were told that the next piece of beef would be ready at 5pm.No wonder the place was almost empty.

Why I was on business in Bristol for the weekend and not too far away where I was staying, I thought I see how this Stonegate pub would compare to the one back home and I have to say the breakfast was better cooked and on the plus side was available without having to ask or wait for it to come out, the toaster however didn’t toast properly and the L shape counter top where it sits doesn’t really work with the tea and coffee being next to each other, because of the shape as you have to wait to use either facility when someone is using either one. The Decor is as dreary as the one back home and could do with a makeover, slightly cleaner, not by much. Value for money 👍.

Great food great sevice great pizza

Had food here this evening and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful! The pizzas were spot on (my children said better than dominos) and the fish was battered beautifully. Desserts were just as enjoyable and the team (Terri, Alison, Lewis and Andy) were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We left the premises feeling happy and full :)

Only disappointment no beer on tap. Only beer available was kept in the fridge so way too cold for a beer.Very hot carvery and very pleasant staff.

Such friendly staff in this place, they were going above and beyond to help out my family with our meal. Very accommodating as I wanted food for 3 people and a takeaway, which they bought out to me when I was near to the end of the meal. Helped me with queries and condiments. Delicious carvery. Arrived at 3:30pm, and surprised and pleased that the carvery still open. I had the veggie option - lovely root vegetable and camembert. OH had turkey- said it was very tasty. Very reasonably priced. Staff friendly. Would recommend.

Had a carvery at the masons today, Once again the food was and tasty and hot! Great value for money too! Head chef Chris always chatty and cheerful as always and Jess and Alison from FOH very attentive and friend, all very much appreciated on this bitterly cold day!

Don’t bother going to this place staff are rude and can’t cope with more than 15 customers we’ve been going here for years and won’t be back the chef needs to sort out his attitude towards paying customers

The pub itself could do with a bit of a refurbishment. looks a bit tired and was a bit cold Despite this we would come back due to the service , friendly staff and quality of food, the carvery was good, nice and hot and good value for money, starters were all freshly cooked and piping hot, we felt there was a good menu selection, 2 particular staff members Ann and Alison were lovely

We went as a family of 5. Busy weekend lunchtime, but we had pre-booked via the website, which worked really well. Everything was perfect as is every other time that we have visited. This is by far, my favourite restaurant ever. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, the restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere and the layout is very good. There is nothing as far as I am concerned to improve.

Had a really lovely evening as we always do. The Chef is very good to have a chat with and his food he cooks is excellent. Also the two women who work to keep it running smoothly are both friendly and very welcoming . Find the younger one not so happy or accommodating. Over all a lovely place to go
