The Mason's Arms in Rudgeway in South Gloucestershire

We absolutely loved our visit to this pub! The quality of the food is outstanding, especially for the price – it’s such great value for money. I had the carvery, which was not only generous in portion size but also perfectly cooked and full of flavour. My daughter enjoyed one of their thin crust pizzas, and it was absolutely spot on – fresh, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The pub itself has a lovely, warm atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. It’s also really modern and convenient, with excellent WiFi, which is always a bonus! The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the whole venue was beautifully clean. On top of all that, there’s plenty of parking, so it’s super easy to get to. This is definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to – great food, great service, and great prices. Highly recommend!

Nothing to say, dissapointing roast, beef very fatty, looked like the cheapest brisket, veg on offer dissapointing, and puddings, didn't order as no ice cream, 90%of the pudding on menu come with ice cream, plus bottomless ice cream, with the flumps, etc, kids wanted, machine was broke. They told us been broke for weeks so not available, so take it off the menu!!!

Dined as a couple -both opted for the carvery. One chose beef, the other turkey. 2 slices of each given then there was an excellent range of vegetables to serve ourselves. Always good value but a special offer made this visit even better value.

Had a traditional carvery at the Masons Arms which was really good value. Really tasty and hot food. Good choice too. Staff member Michelle was really welcoming, helpful and friendly on the both times we have visited.

Been coming to the masons for years, they do a really nice breakfast and carvery. Staff are always lovely. Would definitely recommend to people who haven’t been here before

Good atmosphere, Good quality food.

Myself and my 2 friends have been here a couple of time's with are Autistic boys. Staff are Friendly ,helpful especially a lady called Alison nothing is to much trouble and she is very understanding to the boys disability. She always goes out of her way to make it a stress free and pleasurable. Food is great and good value ie : - pizza, carvery and puddings Thank you so much Denise ,Sarah ,Zoe and Boys . Last in 18/12/24 Happy New Year All.

Most recent visit was much better than expected. Generous portions of food and the staff were friendly and helpful. Pizzas good, burgers okay, carvery as expected. Get the app for the benefits if you’re likely to visit again, we received 25% off food for registration which brought meal for five without drinks under £50 so good value. Have avoided for a few years but would be okay to go back now. Good spot on A38

I had a family meal on the 29th Dec '24 and we will be returning, we all used the app to order food and found it very easy, absolutely amazing food, excellent service, polite friendly and very efficient staff, excellent atmosphere, perfect family night out, we were all very impressed, thank you everyone at the masons arms. 5*, 10/10, 100%.

Had ro leave a review after having had Christmas day lunch here . Me and my mother come here often and are always treated well by the friendly staff. We always leave with full tummies having had a value for.money meal. We arrived for Christmas day lunch and we were firstly delighted with the Christmas decorations. The staff were attentive and friendly as normal. Despite being very busy the service was excellent and very well organised. The staff were happy and upbeat and nothing to much trouble. The food was good and the main (carvery) was lovely, the only issue for us was that we couldn't eat it all! Excellent value for money. We'll done to everyone involved for a very lovely experience.

Had a lovely Christmas dinner and can't fault it. Staff were helpful and polite. Well done for giving us a lovely Christmas day.

Amazing carvery, everything was so fresh and there was plenty of it. There was no wait to be seated or served at the bar or food station. All the staff were friendly and chatty, particularly our server Emily. Will definitely come again.

Attended today for a carvery which was absolute value for money, Emily was fantastic throughout our stay highly recommend.

I decided to call in for the "all you can eat" breakfast, and was blown away by the warm welcome, fast, friendly service and cleanliness of this establishment. The food was hot and enticing, this is how I remember Stonehouse used to be, and has restored my faith in them after having had a bad experience at another Stonehouse establishment recently. I only wish I lived nearer here, as I would certainly call in more regularly for a fantastic breakfast.

Chose this place early evening. Roasts & pizzas ordered. The service was fine & most staff friendly. The food was average and seemed to have been stood in the servery for sometime. Maybe earlier in the day would have been better.

Popped in for a coffee between jobs, and observed the place was busy, people enjoying themselves and full of conversation. Having started my day at 5.30 am, and hitting the place at 11.30, by 12.30 the carvery was already going down, so i quickly ordered a medium carvery, took my ticket to the chef, who was Terri i believe, moaned my coffee would be cold in jest by the time i got back to my table as the que was relentless. Anyway sat down for my food, which was lovely, the veg was great, the greens were green, the roasties were golden and crispy, the meat was tender. Had the beef, and i honestly say it was beautiful. I didnt expect an apology for a comment i said in jest about my coffee, and a new fresh one to be delivered. Exceptional service, polite staff, and all doing what they do under pressure. Well done to the team.

Visited Sunday, so busy. Lady at the door checked if our table was ready unfortunately some people had over stayed their time slot but the nice lady rearranged her bookings and fit us onto a different table. What a relief , we had 4 roasts and 6 burgers the food was quick and very nice . Great place to eat and very accommodating personnel

We had a lovely dinner out with our family and grandsons with helpful friendly service and good value for money food in a pleasant setting.

So disappointed, chef serving Carvery , rude and unfriendly, and mean with meat portions. Veg overcooked, soggy and tasteless . Extra payment required if pigs in blankets wanted . Toilets dirty . Other members of staff were nice .

Sunday Carvery was good. Great selection of food and the staff were friendly and efficient. The main thing that let the venue down was the appearance. It looks quite run down from outside. Inside was OK but the toilets weren't clean (there was actually excrement on the back of one of the toilet doors!!). The radiators all look really rusty and made the inside look really tatty. It's a shame as the food and service was good but I wouldn't want to stop there again.

We did a walk in at a busy time but we're found a table, didn't use the ' quick ordering ' via QR code as Internet has no signal here and disappointingly no normal WiFi available just one you have to sign up to which I won't do. We had the carvery which was the usual good value but not great grub. Would still go back though 😀

Came here for a carvery lunch and a cooked breakfast on different days. Lovely, hot, plentiful food, pleasant and helpful staff and a nice cosy interior. Not a gastro pub by any means but a good quality affordable eatery.

Great price for an all you can eat English Breakfast. All food fresh and hot. Plenty of free parking. Clean and tidy establishment. Will certainly return.

Lunchtime carvery. Very quiet there. Plenty of room for a reasonable meal but it went cold quickly.

Ok for a budget restaurant, food was lovely and hot but the service was pretty poor due to lack of staff, poor lady behind the bar was pretty much doing everything very little support.

I love carvery, and the Masons Arms provide that and more.

Food was okay and the kids menu is decent but the service was really awful. Never seemed to be any staff available or checking tables. We had to wander about looking for a staff member to ask for our desserts to be served after waiting about 40 minutes as no one came to clear the table and were then told that what we had ordered was not available. Restaurant was not busy so not sure why the service was so bad. There are other pubs in the area which I would try before going back here.

Stopped off on a journey south, to what seemed an inviting local country pub. Once seated we ordered from the set menu and paid through the app so you would assume things would move quicker? Sadly not... our starters arrived, no drinks, asked a member of staff, and then soon after the main courses arrived but no drinks, asked a member of staff again, still no drinks arrived. Shortly thereafter my wife then finished her meal and so I approached the bar asking if it would be easier if I served myself, as a printed ticket sitting lonely on the back of the bar was picked up and notice it was our drinks order.... the drinks arrived! The reason? We only have two staff on today... I saw no more than eight occupied tables so mustve been more than two can handle... The food was nice the service was abysmal and we won't be stopping here on our way back from our weekend break.

Love coming here for our girly breakfast catch ups, staff are always polite and friendly and welcoming. Always recommend to everyone I know.

Food was inedible. Ordered Simple Cheeseburger, the burger was served with frozen chips which hadn’t been cooked for long enough and I didn’t even try the burger, it actually looked like it had come from a tin. It had no colour and looked as though it had been boiled. We will never return. Was a busy Saturday in August and there were only 4 others in the whole pub. Wasn’t great that the server also delivered the food whilst chomping on a lollipop.

After looking up on the website to see whether dogs were allowed....yes if we'll behaved....packed dogs into car only to find a notice on the door dogs only in garden ...lady at door said website wasn't able to update website....really???? Proceeded to sit at table......tried to order as we had dogs off ordering site....went through everything only to find table number does not exist ....really table 203 as stated on table.... Partner went in to order.... Food ok but nothing special... Advice don't bother with their website....all wrong ..... Won't be returning......

Very disappointed, will not be going back. Couldn't wait to get out.

Just what I expect from a Stonehouse. Everything was cooked the way I love it.

I had booked a table for 6.30pm we got stuck on traffic on the m4 travelling up from Brighton, I called to say we would be late and would arrive at 7.45pm . When we arrived at 7.50 we were told the restaurant was only serving food until 8pm, then the chef came out the kitchen and said she had closed the kitchen. I explained we had been travelling for 4 hours with my 2 young children and my 80 year old mother but the chef didn’t care . We where forced to leave with out any food, I got back in the car and looked on the restaurants app to find a table could still be booked up till 8.30 pm, I was most disappointed.

Brilliantly priced. Had a nice gluten carvery, the beef was good. Nice Canzone and fish & chips. Staff were helpful. The only thing they lacked was a gluten free lager. They had breakfast etc, which we didn't have, but I would go again.
