Good standard Italian food. Very busy (early Saturday evening) but this added to the ambience and overall experience. Would go back if I were in the area

😀We had an incredible night again at Casa La Cucina Italiana in thornbury . From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting like always . The food was absolutely phenomenal-every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Our server Anna gave us excellent service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant !! 😀

The food was okay but the service was very poor. There were several issues, starting with taking 45 minutes to get seated and order drinks. Our food order was wrong and the service was slow throughout. We asked for some water and this didn’t arrive. Overall is was a below average experience.

We have just had the most amazing meal at Casa, a afternoon treat for my birthday, The food was served piping hot and perfectly cooked. Lovely atmosphere and the server was very attentive without being over the top. My Calzone was HUGE and had so much filling my partner had to help finish it. The steak was cooked to perfection. Skin on chips, but they were really crispy and fluffy inside. Dessert wise, I had the Tiramisu, which was just gorgeous, thick and creamy filling and a good size serving. We had a mid afternoon meal on a Tuesday, so it was rather quiet. Please note, they close at 3pm on an afternoon, so make sure you book with enough time to order and enjoy your meal. Definitely a place we will visit again and would happily recommend it.

The pizza was a bit on the salty side. Very nice dough. Pasta’s were fine. Quick and friendly service. We got a free bottle of water, which was nice. Would come back

We were treated with outstanding good care, attention to details for each of the 12 guests of our group and served delicious food tonight as we celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary of my parents-in-law at Casa in Thornbury. The staff really made sure all special dietary requirements were met (and exceeded) and took our special requests in board to please each of us individually and as a group. Both very professional and personal. Always smiling and caring. Well done team and thank you! 👍👌

Hard to see why this is so well rated by others. We went expecting it to be busy on a Friday night, but seemingly people know where to avoid. There was no atmosphere and no music. Staff were disinterested and we seemed to be stopping them going home (we arrived at 915). On arrival we were presented with the most dog eared menus we had ever seen, not necessarily the worst thing ever but it should have been a warning sign…. Drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. Throughout our meal, a member of staff was noisily drying cutlery next to our table. Lampshades are full of dead flies. Prawn starter was ok, but grilled slice of bread was dry, undercooked and had what seemed like freezer burn in the middle. San remo pizza was generally good, except pickled anchovies had been used which weren’t really suitable for a pizza. Not once did any of the four of five staff ask if the food was ok or if we would like anything else (we were the only customers). Also no soap or toilet roll in the ladies and the gents is in desperate need of redecoration. If you charge premium prices, you need to offer a premium experience.

Really well presented restaurant with a plentiful garden. Menu was varied. Had the carbonara with chicken which was very good. Had a rose spritzer which was flat and wasn’t cold. Really enjoyable lunch but 4 stars due to service; it was really unattentive which given it was really quiet wasn’t particularly excusable.

Best dessert ever!! Very beautiful place and really good prices.

Mussels were good. But lasai had no taste.

Nice atmosphere, nice food, lovely expresso martini I must say, and good staff. I'd probably say this place is good for any occasion, maybe not a drunk night out as I feel it is more a relaxed atmosphere, but do what you please at the end of the day. Very much enjoyed my meal wish I has room for dessert as I heard it is amazing.

From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth. The ambiance was cozy. Every dish I tried was a culinary delight, bursting with fresh flavors and expertly prepared ingredients. Food was good staff friendly only negative thing was asked for a two gin and tonics when they arrived the tonic was already added, way too much drowned the gin obviously out of a large tonic bottle previously opened and was quite flat. I suggest use singular glass bottles of tonic that customers can add themselves.

While Staying in Thornbury we decided to eat here in the Casa La Cucina Italiana and were so glad we did arrived at 5pm We were shown our table and was asked what drinks we would like, drinks and food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Hubby had a pizza and I opted for the pasta dish both was delicious Staff was polite I would recommend a visit

Food tasty, hot and varied but staff clearly didn't want to be there and other bookings so very loud

Had a birthday meal here. Food mostly good, one meal they couldn't get right or give a sensible replacement option for our group due to allergies. After sending back twice they bought out the original dish with a side of veg. The calzone doesn't seem to have as much filling as before. Paying quite a lot for a meal here and it isn't as good as it used to be. At the end of the night all the staff congregate in the bar area where you have to pay. Seems a bit unprofessional.

3 small meatballs for a main meal. Salmon was nice but sauce was tasteless. Staff seemed - can’t think of the word………….uninterested. Rest of meal was ok. Not inspired to stay for pudding.

To be honest it was a monday lunch time and their was only 3 of us and another table of 2. So not really their fault i think its always nicer to go to a busy restaurant. Food was great.

Wasn’t too impressed by the food for those prices. Ingredients seemed like they were sourced cheaply and also the amount of pasta was more than the sauce and toppings. Everything was cooked well and to a good standard, just felt like the quality could be higher. We’ve made much better Italian food at home and we aren’t even Italian. Was hoping for some proper Italian family vibes but sadly not what we expected. The service was very good though, prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable.

In town for a birthday weekend getaway with the wife. Stopped here for dinner on our last night. Didn't book, but they accommodated us. Service was prompt, staff were polite and knowledgeable. The food was great. Has Calzone carne and cannelloni, with agri cheese bread for starter. Would definitely go back.

We came on a Wednesday evening and had a mixed experience. The poor waitress was rushed off her feet serving a nearly full restaurant alone so this meant we waited quite long for each interaction. She was doing the best she could but would have benefitted from a colleague helping her! We ordered a goats cheese pizza and the penne de las Casa. The pizza was lovely, the pasta lacked flavour. The portion size of the pasta would definitely suit being part of 3 courses but looking around the spaghetti portions were very generous. I would recommend salt and pepper on the tables so people can add their own. Also a small detail but the knife handle was such an odd shape at the end it really hurt the palm of my hand using it to cut through the pizza, maybe provide a steak/aerated knife to pizza customers? Lots of people eat pizza with their hands but it was really uncomfortable for the few of us like me who use cutlery. It was still a pleasant evening and I would return if only for the goats cheese starter that looked amazing!

Went as a party of 10 to celebrate parents diamond anniversary. The food and service from all the staff was excellent and helped ensure my parents had a very enjoyable time. Many thanks

Lovely little Italian with perfectly al dente pasta and very reasonable prices. The service was also great and the vibes were amazing! The bruschetta needed slightly fresher tomatoes, more basil and olive oil for me but apart from that I loved it.

This is a lovely Italian restaurant which, in my honest opinion, has slipped its standards from before Covid came along. We had been here on half a dozen times prior and we were really looking forward to returning to celebrate my wife's and our grandsons 11th Birthday's. The restaurant knew this however they decided to ignore this and instead gave us cold and unfriendly service. If the waiting staff have been trained to deliver unemotional, cold and efficient service then that's pretty much what we got except they couldn't even get our order right!! The food itself was nicely presented and in most part very nice and enjoyable however because they got an order wrong it meant one person in our party of 5 had to eat later than the rest of us which is not really ecceptable especially when your bill comes to over £140.00 We have a big party coming up to celebrate another family birthday, which would be for 16 relatives, but we will be looking elsewhere instead which is a real shame.

Booked online for 7.30 had a call from restaurant asking if we could push it back till 8.15 , I obliged and arrived 8.10 prompt, we were met by young lady who's asked if I had booking and could I show her confirmation, I said my booking was for 7.30 but you rang me and pushed it back.young lady then asked us to wait in bar , at 8.35 having had little interaction with staff and no offer of drinks we were shown to table. The group of six that were seated 15 min earlier than us still had no drinks served . We sat and waited another 7 min and decided to leave having been in establishment 33 min and still no sign of a drink order being taken. I explained to the older lady at the bar we were leaving she did try to stop us .we went to another restaurant where we were served within 3 min if sitting down.we have eaten at Italian before and food is always good there shame about the service.

22 July 2023. Booked last minute for my wife's birthday as the rain scuppered our plans. Party of 5, lovely table in a light conservatory style area. Drinks offered promptly, waiting staff very professional and efficient and friendly. The food arrived at the perfect pace which was great as it is always a worry these post covid days that places struggle to give prompt service. The food itself was lovely, I especially loved the tomto soup, and hot. Long may this business continue, will visit again. (Have been 3 or times already in past few years) Excellent birthday meal

A slow service to start with. Impressive Antipasto Italiano to share ( see pic). A balmy evening allowed us to sit outside, recreating a very Italian setting. My wife loved the Risotto ai frutti di mare.

We booked a reservation and informed we are bringing a dog with us so we could be allocated outside seating even though there was a sign outside of the back door no dog allowed. The food was quite good with good portion as well. We would like to return next time.

We had an excellent experience at Casa with fantastic food, marvelous wine and really helpful staff ! We could not recommend this restaurant highly enough!

The food was very tasty and portions generous. The resturant had an outside courtyard which was pleasant on a summer evening. We had two kinds of bruchetta which was nicely topped. It would have benefitted from some olive oil on the bread beforehand though. Mains were very nice, Calzone and Cannelloni. We liked being offered extra parmesan at the table. Service was a bit unattentive at times but overall a good experience.

Great place with a nice vibe. Very friendly service. The food was delicious: vegetarian pizza covered with fresh rucola and cannelloni with lots of parmesan cheese. Shared a tiramisu, which was also very tasty. Definitely a recommendation.

I went there last Saturday with a my friends and we had a great time! Staff member was all very friendly and welcoming! Pizza, cocktail and prosecco, you can't wish more!!! I enjoyed that it was a thin dough and crispy. Pizza is my favorite food and this pizza place was spot on , my friends chose to eat spaghetti and I can say they were satisfied, we can't wait to come back to Thornbury next time and go eat at Casa !!!

Very disappointed with the place due to poor service. We haven't received all the dishes we ordered, with no apologies. We had to ask several times for the same things - it seemed like the waiter wasn't in the right job. Also srilion steak not worth the price plus no proper sharp knife to cut it. On the plus side - good wine.

Local resident who’s been here many times, I have to say this place has gone massively downhill. Menu hasn’t changed in years (except the prices) and quality and service is much worse. They are lucky that Prezzo has closed in Thornbury

The best Cannelloni I've ever had! So fresh and tasty! Restaurant was very busy, but our food cam quick and perfectly cooked ! Piping hot. Lush! Nice choice of drinks too. Staff were fantastic. xx

We were a large group, placed upstairs. Just us for a while which felt lonely, but eventually filled up which gave a better atmosphere. The staff worked hard running up and down 15 steps, and nothing was too much trouble for them. A really nice experience and excellent food.

Classic, simple and done brilliantly. Our waiter was enthusiastic, professional and was a pleasure to have serve us. Staff on a whole were nice and polite! Food was done well, and there was a short waiting time (pretty short, 10> Mins) Atmosphere was nice! It's just a very nice example of a brilliant Italian restaurant.

Stopped off for lunch before we drove back to London. The two young ladies at the front of house were attentive and very helpful, a credit to the establishment. The food was well presented and tasted amazing. My wife started with goats cheese on toast and I had the meatballs. We then had the fish risotto and the seafood stew, both were very good. The pity was we were so full we didn't have enough room for desert,

One of my favourite place in Thornbury. The food is always great, the pasta and the sea bas are fantastic dishes. And the garlic bread is good to share for a little starter The staff are amazing always happy to help and the price is just spot on. If you are in the area and need somewhere to eat definitely try this place out..

Superb food, excellent service, lovely place for a birthday celebration

Went for a special birthday celebration as a couple. It's a very lovely little place, the food was great and the service was flawless. Couldn't fault them at all. There was a slight issue with one our meals but the staff corrected that immediately with no fuss at all. Mistakes happen, it's how you deal with it that really matters. I recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when back in the area.

Fantastic pasta, honestly the best bolognaise I have had outside of Italy. Intended to be more adventurous however our server recommended bolognaise saying it was her go to dish, it did not disappoint. Plus the stolen bite of Pizza I had was damn good too.

Experience a wonderful Italian meal in the heart of Thornbury..The food was great and the service was excellent. The Filet of Sea Bass was perfectly cooked and the Tiger Prawns were also very good. The Tiramisu lived up to my expectations. Would highly recommend!

Struggled to find a nice restaurant in the area and was really pleasantly surprised to find this place. Nice to find dishes like Saltimbocca maiale rather than than just pizza and pasta. Prices are slightly higher for some items but if you’re looking for cheaper options they do have some also. Also pleasant staff which always helps :)
