Ravenna Restaurant Coffee Bar in South Gloucestershire

What an awful experience. Table booked in advance for my son’s 14th birthday, preorder provided 3 days before on request. Table booked for 7pm and starters served around 8:15pm, not all together one person being left without theirs when everyone else had finished. Mains after complaint raised started to be served between 9:30 & 10pm after a promise they would be served together, they were not. Multiple complaints raised and witnessed food being thrown across the kitchen at a member of staff at which point we decided enough was enough. An agreement was made in regards to the bill but on the way out another table decided to put their hands upon a member of the group accusing them of ruining their night, made threats against the 14yr old who’s birthday it was threatening to “put them down” and instead of addressing with them told us to leave. Complete shambles, had they advised they could not accommodate we would have booked elsewhere. After 3 hours of waiting we still tried to be reasonable and were treated as if we had done something wrong! From what is usually a very nice place to go on this evening they clearly over booked themselves and ruined what should have been a lovely evening.

Excellent food and service at Ravenna. We come in here often, the staff are really friendly and the restaurant has a cosy family vibe. The pizza and pasta are absolutely fantastic. Definitely recommend it.

The food and the service we received was amazing. The food was fresh and with lots of flavour and very good portion size. 6 of us came to the restaurant and 4 of us had never eaten in here before but we truly can’t wait to come back again. For me this place beats the rival Italian restaurant just down the road! The owners/staff were also very friendly and joined us in having a free complementary limoncello. The toilets were exceptionally clean too. I didn’t take many pics of the food as was too busy eating but here’s a few I did take

Last night, I had the pleasure of attending one of the most incredible parties I've ever experienced. The atmosphere was vibrant and filled with energy – everyone seemed to be having the time of their lives. But what truly stood out was the food and hosting, which were nothing short of spectacular. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcome and taken care of. They had thought of every detail, from beautifully arranged platters to a wide variety of dishes catering to all tastes and preferences. All in all, it was an unforgettable evening. If every party could match this level of thoughtfulness and deliciousness, we'd all be celebrating every weekend!

A little Italian gems hiding in kingswood. The best pizza in Bristol. We travelled from Redland to eat there. Always a success !

Had a pizza delivery very good as always as ordered before many times. Ordered the chicken wings Piri Piri but no heat just plain chciken wings maybe they forgot to put sauce on the wings bit of a letdown from an otherwise faultess restuarant

My school mum friends and I had a wonderful evening of delicious food, wonderful wine/Prosecco and great conversation. The staff/proprietor were very helpful and created a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Restaurant area was warm and cosy. We will definitely be back and I am also looking forward to returning with my family. Also good that gluten free pizza was available to one of our dinners.

The food was fresh and yummy but seems the portions have halved in size since our last visit 4-5 months ago. Was actually hungry after ordering a full size pasta dish and that's never been the case in previous visits. A shame but will give it one more try in case it was just an 'off' day!

We went for my birthday dinner and there was 13 of us and we were treated to huge portions of delicious pasta and pizzas. Even my gluten free and vegan friends said that the vegan pizza and gluten free pasta was a step above anywhere they’ve been for Italian with their dietary restrictions. The seafood pescatori is the best food I’ve had in Bristol. Huge fresh prawns and at a low cost. Thank you Ronny @!Ravenna for making my bday special! X

Had an amazing meal here yesterday and so did 3 members of our family who were with me. I am dairy and gluten free and they were so helpful accommodating me. Delicious food and very attentative service. We will be back sometime.

This restaurant is outstanding, I eat duck a lot and this was the best duck I have tasted. The staff were truly accommodating, for example, I mentioned I didn't like the coffee and a stronger better cup was made.

I had food delivered from this restaurant, the food came cold, on top of that the food was not the best. I believe this restaurant should focus on being a restaurant rather than a takeaway. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Booked NYE at 8.45pm. Thetford came out at 10.40pm..very slow service..wasn't overly busy..however the food was delicious..they gave us complimentary dishes as the service was slow but it was just so late.. I'd like to go back though.

10 of us turned up for a birthday meal, we didn’t book as was a last minute decision, we were so pleased we could be fitted in as was quite busy, had to wait a bit for service but we’ll worth the wait, lovely waiter who couldn’t do enough for us, all the drinks and meals came out at the same time, and no complaint's.. all in all a great afternoon.

Team were amazing, couldn’t change toppings online rang up and changed without any issues, order arrived early and food came from 20 minutes away and was still hot and fresh! Would highly recommend these guys and girls!

Beautiful food. Really fresh seafood and huge prawns. Even smells delicious in there…like garlic Basil heaven. If you are a tiramisu fan! You won’t be disappointed. Walk in and grab a table you will be happy you did.

Visited on a Saturday night. A bit unfair to comment on atmosphere as we were the only ones there at the time! but the food was very good, had a seafood linguine, a spaghetti carbonara and a bottle of wine all at a fair price. Will certainly visit again.

We were here on Friday night, the food was absolutely amazing as always - delicious prawn pasta and a lovely Chianti wine! It is just always very quiet and I don't really know why because the food and service is excellent!!! We'll be 100% back very soon

Just WOW!! we stumbled across this restaurant as in the area and the food was absolutely AMAZING! The ingredients are so fresh and tasty. The owners are truly good souls and so welcoming! What can I say, a secret gem that needs to shine! The staff were so accommodating with my gallstones and that’s not even the best part……we had 2 courses, 2 drinks each and the bill came to just under £70!! ☺️ We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back. A true foody recommendation xxx

Can't believe it's not busy in there, a Thursday lunch time and there is 4 people in there, the gentleman who looked after us I think is the owner, I might be wrong though, I was advised to have the house red wine and it was an excellent choice, my friend had the Carbonara and I had the seafood both were very fresh, beautifully cooked, huge choice of dishes? Something for everyone, it was quickly at out table and just as quickly consumed, We were recommended the pistachio ice-cream which was very fresh and tasted home made, our bill was £40, excellent value, we gave a £5 tip as the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back, highly recommended.

A wonderful, well priced, exceptionally friendly restaurant. We stumbled upon this hidden treasure by chance and are now avid patrons! The food is freshly prepared and exquisite. The staff are warm, kind and cannot do enough for you. The cost is very reasonable, a delightful lunch or dinner for two, never costing us more than £30 (including drinks!) Popped in today just for a quick cup of coffee. The coffee was excellent and the lady who served me was very friendly and polite. The smell of the food was delicious and the decor was lovely (I sat outside in a great little corner watching the world go by). I will definitely come back with my family for a meal.

Amazing amazing amazing. This place is my new favourite restaurant in Bristol! Me and my girlfriend walked along looked at the outside menu before someone came out and informed there were vegan options… we took a punt on this place and were so glad we did, the mixed mezza platter for two was stunning. The aubergine and couscous were unreal. The best Couscous I’ve ever had. Amazing service as well and very attentive. We will be returning! Looking forward to next time

Amazing pizza and chilli oil, best I've had thus far and their coffee was brilliant and the service was friendly, informative, attentive and thoughtful. 🤤👌🏼😋 Will return sometime to try out the lasagna, hot chocolate and desserts and make an edited review on that.

Another fake Italian restaurant, poor food poor service. Pizza had no taste and lasagna tasted of curry. Took 20 mins for drinks to arrive. This is not an authentic Italian restaurant try somewhere where ran by Italian people.

Really good pizza, decent thin base and high quality cheese and vegetable toppings. Great sun trap outside seating too. Hidden gem.

I’ve been to Ravenna many times for lunch and the gentleman there is always so happy to see us and greets us!! For date night on a Sunday, quiet bank holiday everywhere we were stopping, I decided to go back to Ravenna! I chose to order the ribeye medium rare, with peppercorn sauce. We ordered olives and mozzarella sticks to start and Oh My God! I was blown away, price for this steak was phenomenal! The service, the friendliness! We felt at home and I’m always happy to see the man behind it all! He’s so lovely, grafter and beautiful cook! Never disappoints!! Thank you Ravenna, once again!!

Wouldn't recommend large groups going, the service was very slow,meals got missed, even had food brought to the table that wasn't ordered. Waitress didn't know anything about the dish I wanted to order,which when it did come out was disappointing. Saying that the pizzas did look nice . The chef was very friendly and apologetic for everything. Make sure you take a hand held fan as it was very hot in there.

Amazing food, I was so impressed! I live in kingswood, and didn't realise this was even here! I had lasagne, my partner had seafood linguine , and we both said how amazing it was. We also had prawns for starters. Again, amazing. The prices are excellent as well. I highly recommend this, and I'll be coming back very soon! Ricky

A great restaurant. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. We had pizza due to the great reviews and they were delicious. There was lots of other things on the menu we would have liked so we will be going back again soon.

Visited Ravenna early evening as a spontaneous decision with my wife. We were welcomed by the very friendly chef and equally as friendly waitresses. We had the Italian Misti Platter (for 2) to start and both had pizzas for Main. My Firestarter pizza had a depth of flavour and a nice kick to it and was possibly one of the nicest pizzas I've ever had. With the option of extra topping of halloumi it was hard to resist. The Halloumi pizza (Gluten-free) went down well with my wife, in particular the flavoursome sundried tomatoes. Overall, a great experience, great food and an extensive menu, all for a reasonable price. 10/10 would visit again, although I may wear something slightly more elasticated next time!

My mum and I arrived here about 1.30pm for lunch. The restaurant was quiet but gradually got busier. Ordered our food, drinks were a bit slow to come. At 2.20pm our food still hadn't arrived but people at another 2 tables who'd arrived after us got their food. I asked the waitress, who didnt seem to have the relevant training/experience, where our food was and that we'd be leaving as couldn't wait any longer. She went off and the chef came and apologised and it turns out the waitress had accidentally given our order to the people behind! He was very apologetic and offered to quickly make us food. It was too late though. He said we didn't have to pay for our drinks so that was some consolation. Shame. Ended up in wetherspoons opposite.

Perfect portions and a good ratio of chicken & bacon, and generally just really really good food. Service was very attentive and you could tell that the owner is very proud of his restaurant, and so he should be! Service was attentive, the menu was an absolute steal for value and the quality of the food itself was a solid 10/10. We will definitely be back soon for sure! Thanks again!

Nice little place we have visit quite a few times over the years. Had a calzone, carbonara and garlic pizza bread with cheese and all were lovely. Nice food, wine and service. Would recommend!

Edit: have had to update my review because although the food here is really good, the last 3 times we've been in, the service has been really slow. Waiting over an hour at lunch time for food. Again, the food when it was eventually gets to you is always really good, but it sours the experience slightly when you're sat there starving watching all the takeaway orders seem to get priority and go out before getting your food when you've waited ages. Always a good experience here. The lunch time deal is especially good value for money and everything we've had has been very tasty. Staff are also very welcoming.

Me and my partner decided on a last min date night 4/4/24, so many mains to choose from we got a main to share as a starter aswell as a main each.... Was to full for afters but we are definitely going back. We can NOT fault the place at all the food quality and staff were amazing. Thank you so much they even gave me a take away tub as couldn't eat all my lamb shank. Great service, great food, very happy.

Amazing food, so fresh and delicious! I had a goats cheese pizza with carmalised onions and olives to nane a few toppings and I can't think of a better pizza I've had. That is saying something as I've eaten out in many places throughout the world. Also, amazing service as the staff here are so friendly, helpful and conscientious. We also didn't have to wait long for our food. 5* through and through!
