Great service, a sweet lady named holly was very nice to everyone present and another man I believe his name was Dave was very nice to us and even offered us a free drink as we had been in a few times before, definitely going again
A long running rumour has it that The Quay is closing. Not very busy and no atmosphere this visit. Most of the real ale pumps were off. The Quay was our favourite Poole 'spoon and is in a great location. We hope it doesn't close.
Don’t bother. Save your money. Possibly the worst take-away I’ve ever had. Complained via e-mail and phone but I was wasting my time. Even my dog didn’t want it! Such a shame because the lads behind the counter were so polite and helpful to customers- if only their food was as good.
So-so disappointed, we went there as it was a friend’s birthday and had pizzas but they were as tough as old boots, the knives would not cut through the base, when I tackled the waitress she said it was the way we cook them!
I’m 75 so had many pizzas in my time and this is way down my list.
The sweet course was nice but at £9 + the slice of cheesecake is the smallest I ever seen and they didn’t even give you a fork so had to use my finger to get it on the spoon. What a let down for a high class area!!!!

I recently had an extraordinary dining experience at the restaurant Amalfi in the Sandbanks Hotel, highlighted by exceptional food and top-notch service. Kitty, who served our food, was incredibly friendly and made us feel like treasured guests. Luke, the bartender, was absolutely lovely, crafting drinks with a personal touch that elevated our evening. Rachel, also behind the bar, was very friendly and chatty, adding a delightful warmth to the atmosphere. This restaurant truly excels in both its cuisine and its hospitality. Highly recommend for an unforgettable night out!
Our late night takeaway in Poole began with two v. disappointingly poor but enormous miso soups that had to go down the sink; tasting v. rough with an oily odor. Their taste was a long way off miso soup's usual delightful blend of salty, savoury, and sweet notes, with a texture blending smooth and creamy, akin to peanut or tahini.
I had high expectations of the Unagi (eal) Nigiri being priced at £3.60 , more than our usual Hampstead Sushi bar . But it was a total let down a thin textureless sliver with a not very good sauce dribble, tasting to me quite unlike the traditional " kabayaki" sauce usually served on this dish.
The sushi rice on all the selection of Unagi sushis was very cold, the grains were very hard and without any noticeable sweet sushi vinegar. Even the slithers of raw salmon tasted more oily than fishy . So a very disappointing take away reminiscent of simple all day supermarket fare in the chiller cabinet but priced as bespoke. They need to hire a good specialist sushi chef to improve their recipes and methods.
The Sunday lunch was delicious and very generous. I would highly recommend as the service was amazing too. My husband had the aubergine lasagne which was cooked to perfection
