Awful portion size very disappointing the large chips are basically the same as small chips felt very ripped off definitely won’t go back there again

New to Broadstone wanted to check out fish & chips locally what a disappointment, never again, at least half an hour wait, it just looked like total chaos, staff everywhere, wrapping chips !!!!!!!!! Food was horrid chips were like cardboard pie had been microwaved cod was ok Sorry but all in all dreadful

Home delivery. Ordering was easy and delivery was on time. Pity about the food. Thin fish, dry and overcooked with a surfeit of batter. Mushy peas OK and enough chips to satisfy the local fatties, but IMHO the quality of the fish is the test of a good chippie, and mine was not acceptable.

Fish & Chips is without question my favourite meal. Everyone has their favourite place that they tell me about and lots of Fish & Chip shops claim to be Award Winning etc. Well, Daniels in Broadstone is in my opinion is the Best Fish & Chips. Flakey white Cod and delicious Crispy Batter and perfectly cooked Chips. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Thank you Daniels ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered online at 5:50 for pick up at 6:40pm. Finally collected at 7:18pm having watched everyone else order and go. Kept getting told they were busy although have my name three times. Not worth the hassle.

Ordered online at 4:59 p.m. it is now 7:03 p.m. and still no food. This is from a fish and chip shop. Phoned to ask where it was only to be told that they were busy and no refund will be given as it had already left. Not there problem I think was the response. You also pay £6 for delivery. Joke, never again.

Placed my order for one portion of Haddock & Chips receipt time 7.03 pm. after asking the question why other orders had gone out before mine, I was told it was because it was different food to mine. I was given my order at 7.40 p.m. I ask the question again how long does it take to fry a piece of Haddock. Its not the first time I've had such a lengthy delay but its the last time I will be going to Daniels in Broadstone.

We order (through JustEat) very regularly and the quality is consistently excellent. I have liaised with Barbara the manager in the past who was incredibly helpful and eager to put a wrong right. However I can only assume she was not on duty tonight. Our regular size fish was small, like a large fish finger! The large portion of chips for which we paid £4.50 was barely larger than a small portion. Certainly not enough for two portions which the cost infers it should be. Please Daniel increase the size of your chip portions as many reviewers have mentioned before we vote with our feet!

Living locally we've used Daniels before, but always collected. Tonight we placed an order for two meals at 5.40, for delivery at 6.40 At 7pm we rang to ask where it was. The girl said he was on his way, but when challenged she admitted he hadn't left yet. When it arrived at 7.10 the driver said he was on his own, hence the delay. He did apologise. As for the meal, it had obviously been cooked in time for 6.40 delivery, and been kept warm for half an hour. Hence the fish was overcooked and dry. The pie was good. The chips were OK. The 80p gherkin was completely missing. We can't be bothered to phone and ask for a refund for the gherkin or the £4.80 delivery charge. But neither will be bother again.

Husband tried to make a large family order. Staff refused to take £50 note and told him there was a cash point down the road he should use. Refused to take card payment too. Extremely disappointed, as regulars and living locally we will not be using again. Not the service we expect!

What joke! I've just waited 50 minutes in your shop for 2 kids sausage and chips The shop was empty when I ordered With 2 girls serving aswell!

Poor service supposed to be fast food placed order at 6pm all good shop busy expected a small wait at 6.30 enquired how much longer I would have to wait the young girl said she would find out came back and continued taking orders totally ignoring me when pushed for a answer replied she didn’t know is this good customer service eventually received my order at 6.45 asked for a number for customer service to complain told there wasn’t one have to do this online all in all a totally poor experience with daniels in broadstone

We have eaten at Daniels Broadstone quite a bit over the past year or so and sometimes the food is great. The problem is that quite often it isn’t! Staff who seem not to have a clue or any confidence. Food that can be either poor quality or very small quantity and sometimes both. It’s just too inconsistent for us which is a shame.

This was from the takeaway, at we ordered our food on line for the family on Friday 19th November at 5:45 pm to collect our time slot was to pick up at 6:50. I arrived at the pick up time advised I then had to wait a further 15 minutes and had to ask the assistant twice when should I expect my order. In arriving home the order was wrong and the batter on the bottom of the we ordered was burn os over all not a Custer friendly service

We pre-ordered our food for collection and turned up to collect it about 25 minute later at the advised time. When we arrived they advised that they were only just starting to prepare our food and our order was not ready for another 25 minutes (50 minutes after we ordered!). I accept that they were very busy but we would have preferred to have just been given a later collection time. We were also a bit put out that several people arrived and placed orders, and were served their food while we were still waiting. The food however was really good when we eventually received it although the 6 scampi and chips meal was missing its chips, luckily we all had enough to share. We will go here again, but we won't bother pre-ordering as there doesn't seem to be much point, and if it looks busy we will go somewhere else.

For a Friday eve the order to pick up time was not bad for 6 people. The chips were pretty ok but the fish ( which we all had) was not great. Dry , smallish portion and batter too thick and crispy with the fish rattling around inside. Dont expect home made mushy peas but these were pretty rubbish. This is one of our most local fish and chips so would love it to be better and save a trip to Westbourne or Swanage each time we want Quality. Unfortunately wont be rushing back.

After a vigorous hill climb, my associates and I decided to have a spot of lunch! Little did we know it would become a day we would never forget!!!! The time was 16:20, we had ordered several battered sausages and chips, all was well! We laughed we joked we reminisced of aforementioned hill climb! Eventually our food had arrived, it took rather a long time that one of our hill walking group members actually passed away waiting for it, we didn’t dwell on his passing as it meant more sausage for the group! I digress, the food arrived! Hurray a cheer let out from the remaining (alive) members we all scrambled to get our food and walk off, not five minuets had passed and terrace our least experienced hill climber (but we shan’t hold that against him) had bitten into something not quite right, we all stopped in horror, blood drained from our collective faces. As Terrance spat out what it was he was chewing it was easy to tell why he spat it out not only was it a thumb! But what looked like a human thumb at that! Now even the most uneducated thumbnist could recognise this thumb! Needless to say we was shocked and dissatisfied all in all I give this restaurant 4 stars will return but maybe won’t order the thumb

Daniels provides a level of Fish & Chip restaurant that is far above the average 'chippy'. It's very clean, modern and a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. It's good value for what you get, service staff and always friendly and professional. What let's this brance and the Highcliffe one down is the long wait time. Unusually for a chip shop nothing seems to cooked in advance and ready for walk in customers.Everything is cooked to order, whether take away or sit in which appears to results in long delays. The current system and process needs to be reviewed and improved.

Daniels has elevated their fish restaurant to the highest level. We live abroad but always visit Daniels when we are in the UK. Of course there is a separate take away counter but it is far more enjoyable to eat in the restaurant where everything is perfect. The fish is wonderful and so is the service. If you don't want fish in batter it can be coated in semolina - delicious! Fish and chips is our national dish and you wont find a better example than Daniel's.

Ate in the restaurant tonight. Friday night is a typically busy night for a fish and chip restaurant but the management here seem to have forgotten that basic premise. Long wait for food which was great when it arrived but this is not the first time we have had a long wait for food on a Friday night. The staff were very friendly and apologetic and doing the best they could but the management are to blame for poor organisation. We thought to while away the time we would browse the internet on our phones and asked for the WiFi code only to be told the staff are not allowed to give it out! Seriously? Shan’t be going back. Totally blacklisted. But I feel sorry for the staff who bear the brunt of discontented customers.

I’m a lad from Brixham(Fishtown), and this was one of the nicest Fish and Chips from a takeaway I have ever had. Everything was quality.

My wife and I had a take away meal of fish and chips from Daniels on a Saturday night and it was the best fish and chips we have ever had and being pensioners we have had a few the cod was large and meaty the batter was fantastically crunchy and no grease at all and the price of £11 for 2 fish and chips was very reasonable

Very busy fish shop with friendly efficient staff. Fish was cooked perfectly and the chips were just right. Reasonably priced and good quality produce. Best we have had in a long time. Will definitely be back.

I was using Daniels quite often, until an ex employee explained to me how badly the staff were treated. Tips are not paid by the owner when they should be, resulting in delays of up to 6 months to receive any tips owed.

Visited Thursday 18th April in the evening with my Husband, Sister and Brother in law. As usual the food was lovely and cooked to our liking. It wasn't too busy that night but we have been there when every table has been taken. We always make a point of going there two or three times during the holiday season when we are in the area and have recommended it to several people who have all agreed that you get the best fish and chips around and plenty of it too! The do not just do fish and chip meals but sides and a variety of choices are also on the menu and deserts. You must visit!!

Having moved to the area in 2017 I have tried all of the local chip shops in Creekmoor, Corfe Mullen and Canford Heath. I have always had a excellent large cod and chips at Daniels in Broadstone and have been using them ever since.The meal can be costly but no other shop has the same quality of fish, batter or chips in the area.

Food was delicious, best fish and chips we've had as of yet, this will definitely be our local 'chippy' from now on :)

My first visit to this chippy was a few weeks back and sadly the food was awful. The portions were small, dry, cold and over cooked. Second visit tonight was an even worse experience. I walked home with my steaming hot box of cod and chips, keeping the box nice and flat on the way back. Arrived at my door to discover food oil had poured over my jacket, trousersand shoes. Angry but famished i discovered the fish to be so soaking in fat that it was inedible.

We had a gorgeous dinner, the fish and chips were superb and the Steak pie was excellent. Looking forward to returning.

Having used Daniels takeaway several times I rate them as 3rd out of 5 local chippies for quality and taste but 5th out of 5 for value for money and portion size.

Ordered battered halloumi and chips. And this is what I got. One tiny bit of fried halloumi. Not even battered. £3 for that not even worth it ( chips not included in price) The cook is awful rude and doesn’t even smile. What a waste of money

We've just got back from a very unsatisfactory visit to Daniels where I was really disappointed with them. I rang in advance, as they'd asked me to so I could order a gf fish. No probs they said but by the time we got there they'd run out of the gf batter - apparently a large take away order came in and no they couldn't cook my fish any other way because they only had one chef and they were very busy. I ended up with not much for my money after I'd taken all the batter off, left the huge chips and given up on a cold mushy peas. Not the best visit I have to say.

Having not had great experiences at this place before I should have know better but I stopped to grab a portion of chips on the way home at about 9pm.

Just had a treat fish and chip supper as its just me and the small boy in for dinner tonight. Decided to share as neither of us is a big eater but did order a large cod with large chips (and a small mushy peas) as their portions are always a bit tight. So, large cod £6.35 and large chips £3.20 and small (VERY small) mushy peas £1.10 total £10.65 to take away. Did you give me a pathetic portion because I'm not a big butch bloke?

Firstly we have always been very pleased with the take-away fish and chips from Daniels in Broadstone. Unfortunately last week it was not the case. It was early evening and not busy. Very good service. When we got home we found that the chips were over-cooked and whilst the fish had crispy batter and was well cooked the box that the fish was in was full of grease so much so that it had got into the bag and onto my wife's jeans. We are frequent visitors to the area as we have family in Broadstone. Having had an awful food at another fish and chip shop down by Poole harbour, we decided to try Daniels. We were delighted to have a plateful of beautifully cooked haddock and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was light and crispy. The portions were generous. The service was great and the seating area (we ate in the restaurant) was clean and comfortable. 10 out of 10 from me!

I can’t recommend Daniels enough. Have been several times over the last couple ago years. My fussy 5 year old loves to come here.

Last night I bought a portion of chips. admittedly, at £2 I was apprehensive as you can get a larger portion for just 90p at another chippy a couple of miles away. Was well worth it though, chips were bloody lush. I enjoyed every chip! I’d go as far to say my favourite chippy chips so far.

Placed my order to takeaway when I got home got a completely wrong order. Rang up to say what had happened and got a miserable unhelpful bint on the phone who tried to blame me. Never again overpriced and was bang average.

My wife and I rarely eat anything fried, and chips are a no-no at home. However, we have been to Daniels a couple of times over the last 6 months, and found the food excellent and reasonably priced, and the restaurant is modern, clean and staff is helpful. The senior fish and chips comes with a selection of green peas or mushy peas, various sauces and a cup of tea. Very good value.

ALWAYS an excellent service at Daniels. Fish is excellent quality and cooked to perfect by the fryers. Never had a problem with any member of staff, the majority of whom are young and very pleasant, always willing to help.

We'd spent the day out for Mother's Day and thought it would be a nice finish to quickly grab some fish and chips on the way home. Quickly was not going to be an option today! 3 young men working in the most slapdash way, Internet 'closed k and collect', orders people were waiting over half an hour for! One young man said he didn't care about the wrong order going out, and then they decided to stop taking orders until they'd caught up. There were 3 people in front of us, yes the bedlam that was ensuing was beyond belief.

Dropped in at Daniel’s Fish & Chip shop in Broadstone on the return from a theatre trip. This was a first visit and were very pleasantly surprised. The best fish and chips we have had for a long time. Friendly service, chunky well cooked fish with crispy batter will very good chips. Also portions were very good. All were cooked to order.

Called in at lunch time on Friday ordered regular chips and large battered sausage waited 5min when my order number called out I was delivered some chips which looked liked that they had been cooked over a hour ago I looked at them and looked at the ones in the frying basket behind the staff member ,i asked her why I having got any fresh ones behind her at this point I was waiting for the response from her to turn around and look at the fryer or ok I will change them but she responded by saying they were all put in the fryer at the same time , ok they my have gone in at the same time but they looked like and tasted that they have already gone through the fryer once already. Chips don't cost a lot but done correctly they can taste very tasty on a cold day on this occasion the staff member should have not served up chips that were greasy/ warm not hot / over cooked. Is a shame that a company who have a chain of Fish and Chip shops in this area can serve up poor quality chips. I wonder how many times this has happened to other people and told friends not to visit your shop, word of mouth is still the best advertisement for any business

Daniel's is the best around it is always nice. The only issue here is the portion size the regular and the large appear to be the same size. The large certainly doesn't look like a large portion. Don't waste money buying large portions just get the regular.

visited this friendly fish & chip shop last week.. food was delicious ..service was exceptional ..waitress was very friendly ( Pam ) and obliging will defiantly call again .

Just what you want for really good local fish & chips. We've eaten in and taken away since we moved here and they've always saved the day. True there can be a bit of a wait at busy times - and it generally is busy which is always a good sign. Staff are pleasant, portions generous and everything of excellent quality.

We wont be going back. Long wait for the food to arrive after 25 minutes but It was hot. we did not stay for sweets or coffee included in the price as service was so bad. There was only 9 people in the restaurant. Dread to think what it would be like on a busy evening.

We had a takeaway of fish &chips; from here and I have to say the battery on the fish was very greasy as were the chips . Very dissapointed.

As a family, we have enjoyed the eat in restaurant on occasion. The prices have gone up over the years, however, the service has gone in the opposite direction. A blonde girl eventually served us, it seemed as though everything was too much trouble. Waited an unreasonable amount of time for what is essentially a "fast food" it's only fish and chips, in fact we had sausages too - how can that sort of thing not be quick?! Food was ok to be fair. If I had been served with a smile it may have been a better experience however, the young lady seemed to be involved with other jobs or chatting whilst we were waiting. Not enough staff. Come on Daniels, not good enough when you want to charge me proper restaurant money for fish and chips! Will stick to the take away side or Creekmoor Plaice in future.

Good quality food, at times some school boy errors when orders taken and often inconsistent portion sizes (chips).

Me and my family visit here regularly. Unfortunately I found the service the last time I ate here not acceptable. Myself as a waitress I notice when things are not done properly. The drinks were bought not on a tray but one at a time. This is not good practice as there was 10 of us so a tray would have been a lot easier. We also had a very long wait for food which was disappointing and again were bought to us one at a time. In my opinion the staff need more training and also need to learn how to smile and act interested as when I asked for a bread roll which I had ordered I was grunted at. Very unprofessional. I won't be visiting again.

Pon holiday in Poole got to say they are the tastiest fish and chips I have ever had no skin or bones that's unusual down south really enjoyed ours would definitely recommend.

The food is generally good although a bit on the expensive side. The waiting time is awfull even when not busy. It is quite evident that there is a high turnover of staff and you can see why with the way they appear to be treated by the person(s) behind the fryers..lighten up and smile think of your staff and customers..

Family takeaway early June - usual port of call for us when visiting our family close by.Consistently great quality fish and chips. Cannot be many better places in the area. Prices moderate for the area, value for money very good. Worth going out of the way to eat here.

Am sat in the restaurant whilst writing this walked in the door with my friends got greeted by 2 young ladies we seated ourselves then was pounced on by what I think might of been the waitress and said to us " are you having large cod" as fryer days that's what you norm have"" well hold on a min is it not polite to let us look at the menu shop not busy neither was the restaurant is then felt pressured into ordering but felt I couldn't have a burger as mite take to long!! Side plates on table all greasy have taken pictures not up to usual standard at all..

Well worth traveling for your fish and chips here. They have a restaurant and the usual takeaway. The restaurant offers great meal offers. It is always very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The best batter you will find anywhere.

I ve only ever used D s because of location convenience.... And can t say that I ve ever had an amazing meal there... But after today I will never return, as the fish yes its chunky and looks fresh but not that tasty after all, and for a large portion was lacking batter, which was very thin and only just about covering the fish... The chips were very basic too and not really tasty, the curry sauce I ve had much better else where too. Harry Ramsden is much all around tastier... And even though The lady server didnt know me, I deserved the same warm welcome that somoene she obviously knew who walked in as I was about to leave got... It felt like a real effort smilling back at me....Be grateful for all that walks through the door as they pay your wages.☺

Have eaten at many fish and chip venues in the area and always had our favourites.Was told by a friend to try Daniels. We were not disappointed have never had such lovely batter on fish it was not greasy and really tasty. Lots of chips in fact far to much for me and hubby even left some. Well done we will definetly be back.

The Waitress, Pam Orchard, is hands down the rudest person I have ever met. Our food took 1 hour 10 minutes to come after we ordered, and when we politely asked what was happening she got annoyed and actually argued with us and told us we hadn't been waiting long! Her attitude was so bad I actually thought she was joking at first. Won't be eating here again.

I do find it strange that some of the reviews are so damning. My wife and I visit quite regularly and everything is always first class. The Staff are friendly, polite and responsive. The quality of the food is always first class, always. The amount of customers that return again and again to dine in the restaurant clearly gives a true reflection of the Establishment. IMHOP.S. And you won't find better toilets anywhere.

We were a family of 5 (2 young children) and squeezed into a booth on the side. Not a problem but had to ask for the extra setting to be laid when the food arrived. The service was abysmal - very slow - empty plates not cleared away when the children were given their desserts. The waitresses were distant and very unresponsive. Wil not go again!

What a shame. I complained a few years back as the service was poor and was given a voucher. When I was younger these places had food ready. If you ordered in advance the food was also ready. Food wasn't sloppy of mushy except for the peas so why in gods name is this what we get with Daniels. Poor service. Long unbelievable waits for food. Sloppy wet batter that sticks to the paper more than the fish with no crispiness all. Mushy chips. I am sure it was a longs here previously. All of the above was never a problem then. Plus on top of the above the prices are unbelievable. I live in Broadstone and picked up chips in Bournemouth road Parkstone. Got home with them. Still crisp. Still fresh. Much better prices to boot.

Didn't mind this as we thought it would be lovely and crispy when we got home. WRONG. The fish was soggy, floppy and had to be served up with a spatula. The chips were stuck together, soggy and not very hot. The server had put salt and vinegar on both portions despite requesting salt only on one. Small portions and very expensive. Never, ever again will we go to this place.

Went to restaurant this eve with a friend for a catch up lovely and clean, waitress really friendly, had the 6oz cheese burger with bacon and very nice it was to and piping hot but the chips however could of done with a little longer in the fryer quite a lot of them were hard in the middle mentioned it to the waitress and she did offer to get me some more but to be honest I was full from the burger and the chips that I had eaten so I declined. It has not put me off I will return as never had a problem with food from there in the past weather it be from the restaurant or the take away..

The restaurant is always lovely and clean. The food is all freshly cooked. Staff are very helpful and do their best. Very generous portions with extra chips if you can manage them. Bottles of wine very reasonably priced. Takeaway is spotless as well. Everything cooked to order and fresh. Can order in advance. Thoroughly recommend.
