Called to make an order. Guy who answered phone immediately told me to wait. I could hear him taking another order. Not sure if on phone or in shop. He then came to me & asked for my postcode. I told him. He said it back to me wrong. I said it again. He repeated it back to me wrong. Then I could hear a phone ringing & he told me hold & he answered the other call. I remained on the line while he took the other order. Then asked me my postcode again. I repeated it 4 times & every time he got it wrong. I then hung up & went somewhere else.

Excellent takeaway, we use this chinese all the time. Never had a bad meal from here and delivery is always piping hot. Give them a try

The food is great but DO NOT order it to be delivered. Was told would be 1 hour. After 1.5hrs still no food. Called & they said sorry short of drivers. So near 2hrs before we got it.

The food here used to be amazing but recently it has not been so good. Visited 15th September 2023 and was really disappointed with the food, it was really poor and stodgy, really salty and must have been cooked by a stand in Chef. Shame really as I won't be rushing back after the experience 😢

Ordered a take away for delivery. All the dishes we ordered were full of flavour and plentiful. We ordered a few spicy dishes and they certainly came with a kick but not over the top. Our favourite were chicken and black bean sauce, satay beef and duck with udon. Food was delivered in around 45 minutes (as expected). Highly recommended.

Wouldn’t even give 1 star! Don’t use, I’ve been going to this takeaway for years and after this evening I will never be going again! 2 hours and still no delivery, chased twice the man on the phone laughed at me and said it’s just busy, don’t tell me it will be an hour then… DONT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR FOOD!!!

My first time here. We ordered a takeaway and can honestly say I'm blown away. Simply the best chinese I've ever been too. I'm in my 40s and have been to many over the years. Nothing close compares. Thank you 😋

Waited 1.5 hrs stone cold, 3rd visit never again !! Always hrs late now cold and they were going to take the money out the poor drivers wage ! Shocking

Ordered food at 5 pm was told good would be 45 min, it arrived 1 hour abs 45 minutes later, paid for the food to find out it was all cold. So had to then drive it back to the take away to get money back, Do not use as this is not the first time it’s take 2 hours for food to arrive

We were told our food would take an hour. After 2 hours we called to complain and were told it 'had already left'. Another half an hour later, still no sign. Phoned again, no apology, just told 'she's already left'. When the food arrived the batter on 2 dishes was soggy, the smoked chicken soft, the bbq sauce tasteless.

I have recently started ordering from this takeaway and have found their dishes to be a welcomed change from the box standard dishes sold at other takeaways. They offer a lot of different dishes, including Chinese Ho Fun and Japanese Udon, which are two of my favourites. They also offer a wide range of set menus, including vegetarian dishes which are great as some of my family members are vegetarian. The staff are always polite and delivery is quick. Would highly recommend.

We have an allergy to onions in our family so I always go in to order our food. I write down on a piece of paper ...NO ONIONS OR SPRING ONIONS!... I also say it at least twice...needless to say one of our dishes had onion in it! I phoned No1 Wok and they asked me to collect a replacement but I had just dished up the rest so I said no, they offered to deliver it and 10 minutes later it arrived! Wish I had told them on the phone that instead of the lamb curry I had ordered I received more gristle than lamb...total rip off with extremely poor quality meat. Really sad as usually pretty good 😪

We use this takeaway a lot. The food is really good and the delivery service has always been super quick. Highly recommended.

Cash only business!!! Why would you not take card payments in today’s world unless you were avoiding tax payments? Do not give these people your money they are criminals

The best Chinese around by far. Haven’t had a bad dish yet, they have more flavour and better quality than any other Chinese around.

Me and my house get food from here at minimum 3-4 times a month. While I cannot fault the food let's be honest it's fantastic! Let's us swap out what we don't like and is great. They've stopped taking card payments which is a massive hassle as who uses cash these days? Luckily there's a free cash point a few steps down the road. But they have got such a rude guy on the till/phone. Just such an attitude. Seems like your annoying buy wanting there service. Love the place but just feel unwelcome when ever we come in or phone up.

At the time of this review "No1 Wok" had an offer that if you spent +£20 you'd get 10 Mini Vegetarian spring rolls, brilliant so I order my 4 items and mentioned the offer on the phone to which the gentleman said was fine and the total takeaway would be £23. Apon arrival the Chicken fried rice and the spring rolls were missing, annoying but these things happen. So I call them up and explain what had happened and that I'd like it sent to me with the spring rolls as the total sale was over £20 after chatting with the gent on the phone for some time he agrees. They then call back to ask if I would pay the delivery charge of £1 (really...) If they said that at first I may have done it, but the fact that they have phoned me back up to charge me after there mistake (again mistakes are made) was a complete joke, anyway I tell them I wouldn't pay the pound, fine. Sorted. The food then arrives a second time around, and they forget the spring rolls and on top of that they charge me £2 for delivery (to which I did not pay) What an absolute joke of a delivery service. I have up at this point and attempted to enjoy my meal... The picture should speak for itself on the quilty of food, in short, Dry, Bland and either overcooked on one item or undercooked on the other. No1 Wok? No1 Joke of takeout...

I ordered Chinese for the first time from here this evening, my father in law is in Poole hospital and has been unwell for some time, now feeling better he asked the family to bring him in a Chinese , we ordered a selection of dishes and ALL we very tasty. All the family commented on how nice it was... I live in Christchurch and I’m considering coming this far to order from here again.

Bye Bye No1 WOKYour food became stodgy and tasteless. What happened? We kept giving you one last chance, but could see corners were being cut, and our regular meals tasted different every time. We stopped ordering Chinese food altogether because your food was so bad we didn't get excited about Chinese food anymore. We even threw away the last lot of food - what a sin. Eventually we decided to look for a decent Chinese Take Away and have found an amazing one who will get all our business, and recommendations because their food is super tasty and a million times better than yours.

Food was consistent and tasty. Delivery was fast. Good choice of vegetarian dishes, and they were happy to be flexible.

Husband and I ordered Takeaway as a lazy Saturday treat. Vegetarian crispy duck, mushroom chow mein, udon beef noodles and crispy shredded chicken - all really good (veg duck especially!) free spring rolls and prawn crackers, food was hot, portions are generous and we are both full and happy. Would definitely recommend. Great veggie selection and can’t wait to try something else from the menu next time.

I ordered a special fried rice on the way home one day for an easy meal. I was quite surprised at how expensive it was for ne small container of rice. The disappointment in the meal was complete when I got it home. It was dry with a few peas floating around and about six tiny bits of chicken with not much else. Had to bin most of it. Complete rip off for the price.

It was my nanny birthday last weekend we decided to get Chinese for the night turns out everyone in the house were pleased as we have had really great food with lots of freebies including a bottle of fizzy drink, free mini rolls, three big bags of prawn crackers, a bunch of fortune cookies and even a bottle of wine! The shop is always clean and tidy also the young lady who took my order was polite and helpful. I always got my food carried to me instead of have to go collect from the counter like any other takeaway shop do. I’m strongly recommend this takeaway.

Phoned a takeaway from the hotel, fast delivery. Beef curry, special fried rice, chicken balls and plain chow mein, all very good with complimentary spring rolls and prawn crackers. Not bad at all.

La mayoría de este para llevar acabamos en el bin ya que fue totalmente comestible y el Chowmein parecía haber sido fritos por tercera vez con verduras antiguo (foto adjunta de un trozo de maíz dulce). El curry Estaba aguada y sin sabor. Este ha sido consistentemente mal en los últimos tiempos, pero era tan terrible que me sentí obligado a compartir. Solíamos pensar este Chino fue uno de los mejores, pero desde el cambio de gestión ha ido rápidamente cuesta abajo. Nunca le pida un chino desde aquí.

Foods really nice, Thoroughly recommend beef chow mein and sweet and sour chicken balls. Staff are easy to understand over the phone as well 😊

Este fue nuestro favorito para llevar, ya que era un corte por encima del resto. Por desgracia, ha bajado completamente. Carne crujiente chili estaba pasada y no chili. La salsa para la costillas a la barbacoa y salsa de alubias negras fue muy aguados y carece de sabor.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar desde aquí hace 3 días, que no era tan buena como la anterior hace un año. También descubrí un remache de metal en mi huevo arroz frito! Volví la mencionada remache como fue recibido con disculpas y la oferta de un arroz frito huevos que yo educadamente.

Nueva propiedad en las últimas semanas, los menús nuevo que el personal no parece entender y comida que no es ni de lejos tan buena como antes. Demasiado verduras y no suficiente carne y un poco gloopy. Tiempo de entrega muy rápido.

Living just around the corner for a year or two this was a convenient place to walk to and get a takeaway. However it can be a bit hit and miss. Seems to have quite a turnover of staff plus at least one possibly two...

Siempre ha sido un fan de este para llevar, especialmente la sal y pimienta platos crujientes. Hoy tuve pato arroz frito y estaba delicioso. El personal siempre fue muy amable y si pides una entrega, los conductores son siempre muy rápido y eficiente!

Acabo de regresar de Hong Kong, esta noche me pidió algunos platos cantoneses de no 1 wok, la comida era tan sabrosa, casi como que lo que yo tenía en Hong Kong, también la tienda de aspecto tan limpio y lujoso. Había dos chicas en el mostrador, que era muy amable y servicial, sin duda volveré de nuevo.

We always order our take aways from No 1 Wok, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly!! We love the king prawn chow mein, salt and pepper chicken and the chicken fried rice. The quality of the dishes are very good. The deliveries are very speedy and the drivers are very helpful. Overall lovely food and brilliant service. Highly recommend!!

I've had a takeaway from here. The food is really good and very tasty. Very good customer service. The Japanese udon is fantastic. Love the salt and pepper king prawn.

Today I ordered some rice noodle from no1 wok Chinese take away,it was very delicious. I think that it is the best one which I never had before ,also when I went to the shop to pick up the food ,the staff from the desk was very nice,she also recommend some new dishes .I will come back again!

Phoned and ordered a delivery. When the food arrived every single person (including my 11 year old daughter) could taste what we could only describe as it had been cooked in washing up liquid. Phoned number one wok to which the girl behind the phone agreed that someone would be out to collect the meal and reimburse our money. Almost an hour later and still no show. Called again to be told that we would have to take it back to the shop if we wanted our money ( we don't drive ) things got a little heated.. With them agreeing to at last come and collect. Half an hour later we have a call from a delivery driver saying that he was downstairs ( we live in a flat ) and we would have to bring it down. ?? He was quick enough to bring it up and take our money though ? After taking it down he then said why did we ring half an hour after we had it delivered?? In this case we have a 7 month old baby we were putting to bed and it was delivered quicker than they said. But it seemed as though we were being called liars!! Again things got very heated. With him playing the racist card.. ( in no way are we racist ) and threatened to call the police!!! He then threw the money at us, and chucked the remaining meal all over the road. And speed off in his car. VILE food, VILE staff and VILE service. Do not order from this take away. Unless you like being treated like dirt. We have ordered many times and have spent a lot of money over the years. The one time we complain and that is how we are treated. Like we are lying racists. Disgusting!!!!

Good selection of authentic food. Delivered very promptly even though we ordered on a Saturday evening. Good flavours. Recommended. Smoked chicken is gorgeous.

Have never had a bad meal from here. The crispy duck is amazing, always crispy. Love the salt and pepper prawns and crispy chilli beef. We live in Upton and they only charge £2 delivery. Staff are always friendly and deliver within 40 min.

Have frequented here for many years but this year the quality is dropping. Food average at best and lacking flavour with watery sauces.

Ordered online, payment taken. After an hour, phoned to find out how long it would be. They said they hadn't received order, but confirmed payment received!! After a few seconds, they were able to read me out my food order. After an hour and a hald, food finally arrived and was poor. To further annoy me, we didn't want to receive one single apology!!

No 1 Wok cooks its food in an open kitchen behind the counter, and operates efficiently. It has a moderately extensive menu, with typical Chine takeaway fare from 30 years ago - sweet and sour pork, chow mein, slightly insipid chicken with cashew nuts, egg fried rice, etc. In many places Chinese food has moved on, but not here... The food is well enough done, but could be more imaginative. Although it's a takeaway, there's one large table at which you can eat if you want to.

Food over cooked. Delivery man came three times to get our order right. Under new management. We.. Used to be regulars!!

We ordered delivery online and everything went through (including our payment). After over 1 hour and no sign of delivery we called and were greeted with an answer phone message which informed us that the business was closed until 3rd January. Not sure how we will reclaim our money but not happy!@!!! Maybe a sign of one of the drawbacks of The Internet.ThankfullyTopWok were able to come to our rescue. We will not be ordering at No1Wok again..... very angry

Our order was wrong when we arrived home, contacted Number 1 Wok, informed we would get a free dish on our next visit , chef agreed and a note made on there computer system. Placed an order following week, explained , free dish refused , 10% off total bill given despite challenging the decision and feeling quite embarrassed. Very disappointed given we have been loyal customers for some time now. Considering taking our custom elsewhere!

Told it would be half hour. After an hour phoned to see where it was. Told it was on its way. Nothing. It is now an hour and 50 mins. 2nd time this has happened. Would never order again from them. Diabolical.

Ordered takeaway from here not having any knowledge of it but it looked cleaner and more professional than the other one on this parade of shops. Ordered 3 mains a veg and 2 rice and was more than enough for 4 adults. All dishes were tasty and fresh looking without think sticky sauces. We would use them again! £27 for 4 people

Consistently good food quality, tasty and great value. The missus and I absolutely love it! Don't go elsewhere if this place is close by.

Been to this Chinese a few times last time I'll ever go there, waited a hour and a half for food in the shop and they forgot I was even there, then I had to wait a hour and a half for them to deliver some rice and a can of coke, they also lie out there teeth telling you your order has left and it hasn't

We enjoyed a great quiz night, evening with friends the other night and a Chinese takeaway was the choice of food which for our friend always means No1 Wok. We were delighted again with the delicious freshly cooked food when it arrived. The takeaway is always busy which is a very good sign as it is utilised by hundreds of local people. We decided to collect our order as delivery would have been about an hour but again this is a very popular takeaway and quite rightly.We used to like Canton restaurant and takeaway a few years ago prior to its slow decline and now closure but No1 Wok has always maintained its high quality menu choice, food quality and its presentation cooking in clean, hygienic premises in full view which is also fascinating to watch and such great smells and aromas.This will continue to be our first choice of Chinese takeaway and happily pay a little extra than other takeaways that are not of the same quality and I would agree with other TripAdvisor's statements that this could very well be one of the best here in Poole.

Always a quick turn around and good service on the phone.Average food tonight not the best and not the worst. Have used a few times but would look for other options next time- or back to top wok

Had takeaway a few times before with no issues, even built up £17 of vouchersDecided to treat the family to takeaway again but we asked to use the vouchers. Driver showed up but she didn't want to take the vouchers as she had no record of themFood that arrived was mostly ok but one dish especially (2 portions) of lemon chicken, tasted like it was cooked in washing up liquid and we had to throw them away, didn't make a fuss at the time given they refused to take the vouchersNext day we got hassled twice by phone calls from the takeaway accusing us of trying to get away without handing over the vouchers. They were not interested in knowing that I did offer them or that two dishes tasted like soap. They insisted on collecting the vouchers immediately and made no apology for the poor food.Lesson learnt, won't use them again!

I've had a takeaway from here many times and never been disappointed.The food is really good and very tasty.I've collected a takeaway from here and the place looks very clean- it's great to see them cooking your food while you wait. I've also had food delivered and delivery service is good, it always arrived within the time they say.I have tried many Chinese takeaways in the Poole and Parkstone area and this is definitely the best!

The food here is better than your average Chinese (except the soup - bit salty and watery)The ribs and noodles are good, and they have some unusual dishes well worth a try. Delivery is fast but they charge for delivery. And we're less than ten min drive away. So we tend to pick up. Food is worth it, but try to avoid delivery if you can. Prices are reasonable, some dishes are a bit small for the price.

Had a very tasty take-away from No1 Wok recently.The food was excellent. Service very quick. The shop was spotlessly clean.Beef cury, melt in the mouth beef with a very tasty sauce. Lemon chicken, zingy. Yum yum.Was a good price for the quality of food.Will definately return.
