A great coffee shop in a fantastic location at The Barbican. Coffee, tea and pastries were very good with an excellent choice. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Worth a visit when in the vicinity.
This was just the best breakfast. The team were so friendly and the food was amazing I completely recommend this, especially on a lazy Sunday morning š

A great pub! Very low key, in a good way. Some evenings have music. Locals and the staff all very friendly, and a nice range of beers, including lots of low alcohol choices.

We went for a Sunday lunch at the Italian formerly known as desire, this is now a Thai restaurant however still serve Sunday roasts. A bit confusing..
Food was good however, some smoked meats involved! Love that.
We both enjoyed the meal, the wine was ok.
We were staying at the hotel so thought we would try it out, have tried before when watching a show but couldnāt get a table.
Was quite quiet when we came but the staff were very friendly and welcoming - the venue is nicely appointed with a relaxed atmosphere
The menu is very well priced and the food was tasty, we had the steak and it was excellent! One of the best I have had in a long time
Would recommend, will return
Really nice. The bagels are delicious with lots of different filling. I asked for something not on the board and they happily obliged.
We also had cakes which were delicious too. I had a cardamon bun, like a Chelsea bun but nicer.
So, filled with graduation fever, weāre out celebrating. And what better spot to choose than an Italian Pizzaria set in one of Plymouthās oldest buildings, Prysten House, built in the late 1400ās by Thomas Yogge, wine merchant of the day. The setting is gorgeous; think really old buildings with four foot thick flint walls, which makes you wonder how a workman might install a vent for a tumble dryer?
Weāre ushered to our table and then I glance at the menu. No starters? āItās like an Italian Wagamamas dadā didnāt help. So, trying to make sense of a surreal world, letās use the āSidesā as starters I proffered. Calamari, meatballs and Chicken Milanese all sounded like starters - so we went for that. āThe sides usually do come slightly before the mainsā said our waitress- hope was in the air. Iāll go Calamari. Then a look to the mains, no pasta? Mmm. āItās a pizza place dad.ā Ok. Iām cool. In terms of my comfort zone etiquette for eating out, the coups de gras ( sorry, donāt know it in Italian) was actually the water tumblers used as wine glasses. Red wine you can get away with as itās served warmer than white and your hands encompass a tumbler. White with no stem? Iām showing my age.
But the food- which is, after all, the point, was great. My Calamari was the best Iāve had. Soft, light and flavoursome. I can equally recommend the Courgette shoestring fries (Tempura prawns with courgette instead if youāre visualising it ) which were great.
I then went for the Palma Farmer pizza with a splashing of chilli oil - great. Tasty and cooked really well. All things āFoodā were brill was our consensus. Well cooked and filled with flavour, which ever āflavourā you chose to go for. We were too full for pud.
Did the fact that the mains followed our āstartersā really swiftly lose something of the night. Strangely no. Itās a different vibe - and old gits like me need to chill about etiquette. Who cares anyway.
Great place, great food and - different. Why not? Iād say give it a go. X
