A great pub! Very low key, in a good way. Some evenings have music sessions. Locals and the staff all very friendly, and a nice range of beers, including lots of low alcohol choices.

Fun Fun Fun, visit this pub 😄. They have board games and books 📚 lots of friendly people, even the ones over the road with guns 🔫

A very friendly water hole in a quite corner of plymouth.close to some beautiful coastal walks.Highlight of this place is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by Belinda and Elaine, who runs the place.ideal place for a chit-chat and nice chilled drinks.The whole place and other customers there gives a wonderful vibe,ambiance and a homely feel.

The staff are always helpful and have an excellent knowledge of Plymouth and surrounding area. One of the better pubs in Plymouth.

A great wee pub. Very much a proper pub. Elaine the barmaid is very welcoming. The regulars are a welcoming and chatty bunch. They also sell Bass!

Excellent atmosphere and always have well kept beers on tap, great host! Well recommended for a drink. Careful on opening times, check before travelling!

Another excellent evening of traditional music at the Artillery. A full house of singers and musicians performed a wide range of songs and tunes, from fairly recent songs in the folk style, through Music Hall from the 1890s, to songs from Elizabeth the First's reign. The beer was good, too!

Respect to the landlady who made sure their long running patron and our friend had a good send off. Definitely an inn for the weary traveller who would like good company.

Absolutely fab little pub. Drinks are well priced and the cask beer is simply superb. My first visit in over 10 years and the standards are still impeccable. Nice atmosphere and a lovely warm welcome from the landlady. 10/10 for this proper independent free house.

A lovely, off the main road bar. Staff are friendly and chatty. A very homely place to have a drink if you want gentle music, a homely atmosphere and honest service. Just sorry I didn't find this sooner, but I know I'll be back. Thanks ladies for making my short visit to Guz that bit more enjoyable.

Just a lovely little boozer. Luckily there was a folk music get together the night i came, and there's a decent looking pool table in the back room.

I real boozer! Good clean beer, maybe not so much of a choice on the draft but saying that it is all down to individual taste. As many spirits as a Witherspoon's pub so choice there is enough for anyone. Plenty of little pub snacks to pick from to enjoy with a pint or two. Bar staff are very friendly and are more than willing to make you feel welcome no matter where in the world your from. Overall there should be more pubs that are like this 👍🏽👍🏽

A lovely little pub with friendly staff. Not a great range of beers but a couple of choices of ale including a local one. Pool table in the back room and tv in the front. Dog friendly. There's just a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Known the place for decades and it's good that the name has stayed the same, the fire is lovely to see on a cold night, the buffets for the celebrations and the wakes are tasty and generous - a real local pub still here against the odds in these difficult times for the trade.

Proper pub. Good ales, good service and the log fire makes it especially welcoming in the cold dark winter months. Great meeting place with a variety of entertainers popping in and of course, the locals. A nice village pub in town.

A good old local pub. Looks like a pub, smells like a pub.

Terrible attitude from the bartender, Royal Marines paraphernalia everywhere which implies support of the Royal Marines... apparently not. I go in with my partner who is a serving Royal Marine and we politely ask to use the toilet, the bartender says yes then as we leave she screams at us saying we should have asked. The whole experience left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome - we won't be returning but we will be telling everyone else not to go there. 👍

Amazing hotel for its value, free parking, friendly staff, walking distance to Twickenham, smart TV in your room. Perfect! Will definitely be staying here again.

A cracking pub and found by accident yesterday. Good beer and a good atmosphere. Apparently I first visited it around 40 years ago but I have no recollection of that so it must have been a good night!

The perfect local, well kept real ale. roaring log burner, warm and welcoming Landlady who has run this amazing little local for many years.

True pub. Lots of military history on the walls which is fitting for the location. Friendly bar guy who was accommodating.

Real pub ! Very quiet monday night ..... the AA had very friendly local giving an insjght of where to go and what to see . This pub will not be everyones cup of tea but this is a traditional English pub with great history and a warm welcome . Well worth a visit

Nice little traditional pub in a quiet area. If you’re looking for food you’re wrong here - although written on the outside no food can be expected at 8pm.

What a lovely place, with a really friendly landlady and great choice of drinks. We'll definitely come back when we're next in town.

Friendly atmosphere and locally the only genuine pub

After a day of wandering around Plymouth hacking portals, finishing up at the artillery and sitting in the decked area out the back was a pleasant way to get a refreshment or two.

One of the best and friendliest Pubs on the Stonehouse Peninsula and where many of the good local faces hang out with fun evenings live Sports but most importantly if you have a small group the game of Monkeys is a must.
