The Meze Grill in Plymouth

Another good meal at the Meze Grill. Only complaint was the muscles starter I had had about a third of them in opened but apart from that another great dinning experience here.

Really friendly staff, Tee who served us for most the evening ensures we were happy and enjoying our food and drink. The owner is lovely as well, we had a wonderful evening with good service and quality food

Meze Grill on the Barbican is a lovely restaurant! The staff are super friendly, it's very reasonably priced, and to top it all off, they have some very good wine! Every time I visit, I leave full, happy, and I don’t feel like I’ve spent a fortune! I 100% recommend a visit. I tend to go at lunch – it’s quite quiet and relaxing, with lovely music too. 😃

As I’m Asian I was looking for Asian restaurants in Barbican but I found meze grill Greek restaurant. We pop in and had chicken souvlaki and vegetables mousakka it was super fantastic delicious. Nice restaurant warm welcoming with nice service. Meze grill make my day happy.

We have been there at Saturday night and we get Very delicious food and really very good service.

Had gone to this place for my birthday, the staff was so welcoming and amazing ambience. The environment takes you to Greece feels like that. The food was amazing, specially the sirloin steak well cooked and also the chicken souvlaki that too was yumm. Tried the desserts as well as delicious. In whole had an amazing time there.

Food was amazing ordered the porterhouse steak done perfectly , service and the staff were so warm and welcoming and the ambience of the place says it all xx

It’s a fantastics place to enjoy traditional Greek cuisine. We been there on Saturday night and restaurant was full busy but still very friendly staff and quick service, food was delicious specially chicken souvlaki , moussaka and sirloin steak wow. The best steak I ever ate. I definitely recommend Meze grill Barbican. We will come back again.

Went last night after work & ordered the feta salad & the lamb cutlets rare to medium. Chips were stone cold when they came out so they kindly changed for hot ones. Great. I know I asked for rare-medium but I swear this thing was still “barring”.It could have walked off my plate. It was served blue. Came with a raw mushroom, tomato & onion rings. My partner had a the calamari which was like rubber. Best thing was my cocktail! Place was fairly busy, empty tables & instead of clearing them they just kept turning people away.

We waited over an hour for a starter, then a couple were sat next to us that stunk awful of old body odour, the waitress moved us and apologised, then we waited for a further 45 minutes to then be told they had forgot our starters and brought out our main course, The man said it was because we moved tables !!! Unbelievable Not girls thought but 1 hour and 45 minutes for food is unacceptable, let alone for them to let people in to a food establishment that clearly had horrendous hygiene Stay away We also heard other people complaining of cold food, poor service and long waiting times I work in retail and clearly not enough staff or just greed from management On a lighter the fish shop down the road is fantastic and saved the day

Good food well presented. Good value too. Sadly the service wasn't as good. We waited around 35- 40 minutes after finishing our main course before they cleared plates and asked if we would like anything else. Difficult to catch the attention of the staff as they seemed to be more concerned looking after a table of 10 or 12 people rather than the tables of 2. I did see other couples waiting for service too. And it wasn't even fully booked.

Wonderful place for fine dining with great atmosphere,restaurant located by seaside at the heart of Barbican,various menu,large portions,very tasty/hearty food and beautifully presented and attention to the detail.

Not so good this time - very slow service and food quality was just not up to standard - one main returned - but this is a beautiful restaurant that usually serves pretty faultless food - will give it a couple of months and pop back

Ordered a porterhouse steak even though its not traditional greek food but it was probably the nicest steak ive had in forever. Lovely resteraunt, great staff and really friendly. Would definately recommend! The photo is not how the food originally came.

Food was fantastic and good value as well. Try to sit towards the rear when going, as the front area can get busy with people calling in and out, plus the doors are left open and can be quite cold being on the harbour.

Not what we were expecting, but so pleased we stayed & ordered. We all have nothing but praise for the food, all 4 of us had something different and outstanding. Thanks guys

Not the restaurant it was. It's had new owners in the last couple of years. Food used to be really nice but it's just "ok" these days. Having said that, the Roast Dinner is pretty good. In the last two visits our desert order never made it to the kitchen somehow and a meal was not ordered to the kitchen on a previous occasion.

So we were looking for a restaurant to eat,and we decided to eat there since its a Greek restaurant. I have to say that the customer service and the restaurant it self were excellent but the cuisine is not greek,the chicken souvlaki was nothing but Greek As a greek I was disappointed since the Asian chef even though the restaurant it says greek cuisine doesn't know to cook greek food. Apart from that we were satisfied

Service friendly. Food basically good. We ordered chicken Souvlaki with rice (£15.00 - reasonable). We got chips instead of rice. We also ordered Stifado (described as being like a curry!) and served without the Greek Salad (£19.00). The sauce which had an unnatural hot taste to the back of the throat, tasted like it came out of a cheap tin. The meat was good quality and was cooked well. Dessert: Baklava. I was bought up up Turkey and this was not the Baklava I know. Clearly out of a packet and heated up in a microwave. Very hard, very dense and could not cut it with the teaspoon I was given! Not good. Drinks. We ordered a spritzer (charged 90p for soda) and a bottle of Mythos beer. Yes, it got us out of the rain at 9.00pm in the evening, the place was empty apart from a couple of girls who were talking very loudly about work, inappropriate work colleagues....quite revealing! Maybe the staff were just having an off night, being quite quiet, but they took their eye off producing the correct food to put on plates. Just a bit lazy. I don't think we will be going back....unless it's heaving with rain and we are sheltering in their doorway.......maybe?

Had the mixed Meze with a colleague. Nothing at all you wouldn’t eat, EVERYTHING was really tasty and would have eaten all of it again apart from the fact we were both stuffed. Service was spot on by really friendly, attentive staff. Will definitely come again !!!!

Great Greek restaurant, been here a few times and always good. Staff lovely, think a change of ownership in recent times but still great. Right in the lovely Barbican area, plenty there. Meze meal with red wine, reasonable prices, will be coming back, well recommended 👍😀

5 stars all around. Came here for the first time at 8pm and everything the was perfect . The atmosphere was calm and friendly, service from the waiters was incredible, perfect amount of time waiting in between courses and the food itself was completely out of this world. If I could tell all of Plymouth about this restaurant I would. I highly recommend!!!!!

Just avoid this place. Cold food, small portions, and a very long wait. Food itself was just OK. The couple next to us actually left after waiting for half an hour for their meals.

3.5 stars. The service for us was a little slow and we did have a few things brought that we hadn't ordered. There did seem to be quite a few things going back to the kitchen in error. The food itself was ok. We had the meze platter and the portions were enormous! The moussaka was tasty but quite salty and the lamb chops were delicious. Everything else was a little so so. All in all we had a nice time. This place is excellent value, just make sure you go hungry. We're big eaters and couldn't finish everything.

The people were so friendly and the food and service were great. The fish was particularly nice so I would recommend it.

Very kind, and their service was impeccable. They even had us there after their closing time! Food absolutely amazing and fast service! They have her a free bottle of wine for her birthday! Also sang happy birthday. 10 out of 10 absolutely perfect. 🖤🖤

Fantastic find on first trip to Plymouth… recently re-opened. A superb early evening 2 course meal for £17 per person. We had Bruschetta and calamari to start; moussaka and lamb souvlaki for main. All delicious, hot, tasty, generous portions, and the staff were charming. Lost a star on atmosphere just because the music didn’t fit the dining experience in our opinion.

Terrible food. Chicken was raw.

Waren letzte Woche in Ply. und auf der Suche nach etwas Essbarem. Zu erste schreckte der Zusatz "Grill", da unweigerlich an deutsche Pommesbude gedacht wird. Einmal drin: alles Super. Super Essen, freundlicher Service und faire Preise. Kann uneingeschränkt jedermann empfohlen werden!!

We had a wonderful evening celebrating our friend's birthday. This is our second time here for a meal because we live Cornwall and come up for the weekend. Food was delicious and staff was fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Nice food! We were warned of slow service as we were walk-ins, but it wasn't too bad! I definitely recommend the mixed meze! The greek salad is not authentic and not worth getting in my opinion.

Been here twice now. Two things the chips and the chicken are the bomb. Very good service and food in general. The second visit I went for the £50 selection between two people, it was good but not as good as the main menu dishes.

Went here last night with a few friends for our christmas meetup. The staff here are really friendly, funny and attentive. We ordered the Meze for 5, so much food, it just kept coming! All of it was great, particularly the moussaka and stifado! Very reasonably priced too, for 5 of us with two bottles of wine, Meze each and a cocktail to finish it came to about £45 each. We will definitely return!

Went to celebrate a friends birthday Waited 35 mins for drinks to arrive ( or at least some of them) and then went and got the remaining myself from the bar We then waited almost two hours for our meals to arrive The food was beige and bland Service was appalling My work boots would have been more tasty Not one of us enjoyed the food Sorry Meze but we won’t be back

The chicken strogonoff was lovely and general attention of the staff were brilliant. Needed more people dining as price very reasonable and menu varied.

Service was superbstaff very pleasant but the Greek food was not as good as we have had elsewhere.

Purtroppo il bel locale tradisce le aspettative. Cozze spappolate immangiabili, calamari non puliti, fritto si pesce duro e spesso, aglio esplosivo in ogni pietanza ed infine dolce vecchio e servita fetta.. non completa. Il cameriere invece di portarne un'altra si è messo a ridere quando glielo abbiamo fatto notare. Peccato!
