The service, nikolas, is cool, the food is tasteless, the meat is dry, greasy, full of oil, I had lamb chops, the worst experience of the food, we didn't sleep all night because of an upset stomach, the worst restaurant I've ever visited, never again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND, I'll attach a photo

Had a lovely birthday dinner at Stavros! The staff are very friendly and even gave us a complimentary bottle of prosecco!

The lamb kleftiko was so tender and delicious and good portion size. Nicholas was very kind. Will come back for sure.

Been twice to this restaurant now and will be going back. Amazing service and amazing food. Both times I’ve had the kleftiko and it’s to die for. Shout out to Nicolas. Had a lovely time celebrating my Birthday.

The starters were good, after that it went downhill. The mains weren’t great and expensive. Was not a fan of the flys flying around the hallway by the toilet and above my wine. Staff were attentive. Although I did leave with a thumping headache.

We Visited today just by chance and we were pleasantly surprised. We had the pork suvlaki which was tender and juice with lovely rice. We also had the Musaka and the greek salad. Lusaka was cooked and seasoned to perfection.i just love it

Following a meal at Stavros I have finally found where the leak in my toilet is coming from. A hairline crack in the rim of the bowl, would have never noticed it without spending an entire night with my head down the carsey. Mind you not like I can afford to fix it after the worlds most expensive meat and rice. Thanks Stavros. Horrific.

I heard from friends this place is very good but after trying lamb chops and baklava I would like to visit again because staff is so friendly and respectful,helpful towards everyone they suggest village red wine which was very good I really had good time

Had dinner with a friend at Stavros Greek restaurant on Barbican. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, service at the highest level! I recommend to visit, you will have a wonderful cosy evening. I would also like to mention the friendliness of the owner of the place.

We ate in here a couple of days ago. We had the lunch Meze platter at £12.90 per person. Very nice food and plenty of it. Really recommend this restaurant.

The fish was not fresh and was served with fries similar to McDonald’s. We had to ask for sauce and got given sachets like the ones in a cheap cafe. Worst of all I had to use the loo before food and there was lots of flies, one must have escaped and was flying over our food and us. I’m not one to complain so I said nout and paid the bill but my advice about the place is to stay away.

From the start the welcoming being greeted kindly and professional. Great service great food highly go again. Staff were friendly and made you feel comfortable on our evening.

It was on the Barbican lights switch on so it was very busy outside the restaurant. However, the service was on time, food was delicious and well cooked. Also big portions. The atmosphere and interior is very unique as well.

Very disappointed, food was a big let down calamari should not taste like rubber bands, but most of all that put me off was the amount of fruit flies around my food but all over the chairs and also in the toilet, I eventually had to walk out.

Not booked so was lucky to get a table for 2 people. Staff were lovely and friendly. Premises are very cosy and intimate. Delicious choices on the menu. Hearty portions made with fresh produce and cooked to perfection. Compliments to the Chef and kitchen staff. Would recommend vegetable mousaka, Greek salad and special mixed souvlaki. 😊

We came down from Exeter to try Stavros and we were really pleased. The food was delicious! They have the local Cypriot “Keo” beer. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The service was excellent. We will be returning :)

The dolmades, kleftikfo and complimentary dessert all delicious. The waiter and waitress were both brilliant hosts.

Visited last night for my sons 21st birthday celebrations. Stavros is a must visit everyone we are in Plymouth. The staff really went beyond the call of duty to make the night very special, with a surprise cake and gift for the lad. We always have the mezze and absolutely love it. Thank you so much. 10/10.

I visited Greece this year and fell in love with the scenery, food and the atmosphere! You could definitely say I have been feeling the blues since coming home and visiting the Stavros lived up to filling this, from the music, to the service, to everything. I brought my daughter with me and a friend for some lunch and they were amazing with her, the menu was accommodating for a child of her age who only wants nuggets and chips.. I fancied a gyros which they didn’t serve, but nevertheless they recommended souvlaki and added some pitta and tzatziki and this was just as good! I’m not certain on the lady’s name that was working in the day on 29.09 but she was so lovely towards my daughter and let her help her around the restaurant and even went to the lengths of giving her some free ice cream! Thank you so much for the food, hospitality and showing care towards little ones, we will definitely be back.

The girls worked very hard to ensure customers were served in good time and happy. Shame that the young man behind the bar couldn't get off his phone, not even to speak to a couple waiting to be served. Even after being told by one of the members of staff. Not sure he actually wanted to be working there.

We came back from Santorini the day before and needed more greek food! Stavros has the authentic Greek feel that we were looking for, but more importantly the food and drinks were excellent. Big portions and reasonably priced. We'll be coming back again soon. Thanks Nicholas for entertaining our toddler!

The food was flavourless I had the Kleftico. All I could taste was was pepper in the sauce. Served with rice and two roast potatoes which clearly hadn’t been roasted long. Husband had a mixed meat dish again no flavour on the meat Obviously wasn’t marinated. Starter Tzatziki which I could barely taste the cucumber and mint Wouldn’t go again though prices are reasonable

My favourite restaurant by the Barbican in Plymouth. Great atmosphere, fantastic food and wonderful staff. I had the lamb and it was so tender, fell right off the bone. Beautiful. Special thank you to Fatima, our main server, for making my birthday meal so wonderful. Talked through the menu for my brother who hadn't had Greek food before. Brought dessert with a candle for me and gave me the strong shots for our after meal drinks. Honestly such a sweet and lovely person, made my night even better. Thanks Stavros, I will be back soon!!

My Cypriot colleague and I needed somewhere to eat after a long day of work. We felt immediately at home and enjoyed a delicious meal with outstanding attentiveness by Fatima. Beautiful traditional tunes made us very happy.

Stumbled across this little restaurant whilst on holiday. Walking around on a damp dreary day. Decided to try their mini meze which was really lovely and such good value. The restaurant is very authentic and the staff helpful and friendly too. We will definitely return when we are next in Plymouth thank you ☺️

Lovely! Best Greek food I’ve had since Greece. Wish the desert menu was more extensive however! Well priced and good value.

Lovely food such polite attentive waitresses and staff

The interior is really nice, very Greek and has cool art work around. But it was let down by the food and service. I had the Lamb Souvlaki and my partner had the Kalamari main. The Souvlaki was ok, though kind of bland and the ratio between actual meat and salad was a joke. You pay around £18 for 50% salad, 25% meat and 25% rice (as shown in picture attached). The kalamari is was decent, though overcooked a little so it was pretty tough chewing some pieces. It was also better as it was more kalamari than salad it seemed. The salad wasn’t terrible mind, it was very refreshing but just too much of it when considering the price you’re paying for these dishes, you’d expect more meat than salad. The service wasn’t great. We were seated and took over 10 minutes before anyone asked us for drinks. Our waitress who took our order was extremely quiet and we had to repeat everything we said twice. Normally I would say this was because the restaurant was loud but at this time it wasn’t at all. During the meals, nobody came and asked us if the food was ok at all. Then when it came to the bill, it took nearly 15 minutes after asking for it for them to bring it over. So overall just slow. So we personally wouldn’t be back unfortunately which is sad as this place could have so much potential and we have been wanting to try it out for years but we feel disappointed.

Very disappointing, never again. Moussaka was horrible and the worst i ever tried. Menu for 2(50£) not enough and quality of meat was disgusting. Food tasteless and really bad. We waited 1.5 hours for food.

I visited on the 18/07 at lunch time and I'm so sorry I'm late ^ ^; Regardless, I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Absolutely love Stavros, the people are lovely and the food is amazing! Really lovely atmosphere, truly nothing bad to say about this place. Will be happy to visit again!

Fantastic good Greek Cypriot food. Definitely worth a visit.

Food wasn't great, dry chicken and not much of it, but the salad was good. What stood out was the complete indifference of the staff. They did seem young and inexperienced. There's another Greek restaurant up the road which I'll try rather than return here.

Visited Stavros for lunch, amazing deal of £11.90 pp for a mini meze, it was delicious, service was perfect, attentive and accommodating. Atmosphere was good as well with the music making you feel like you’re back in Greece!

I must say we travelled almost 5 hours and stopped at stavros taverna and the calamari was excellent cooked perfect and the best I've had since being In greece a must try

We wanted to eat delicious Greek food and passed Stavros. The service was very nice, but unfortunately our food was not convincing. The meat was hard and dry like the black olives. Only the tzatziki convinced us. We won't go back, it's a shame.

Mini meze was delicious and excellent value for money. Lovely waitress. The music made us feel like we were in Cyprus despite the poor weather outside.Right in the centre of the Barbican area.

Very disappointed. Small meze Very poor, no flavour and disgusting chewy sausage thing. Wine came open and brim full, certainly not a bottle of what we had ordered! Cheap but not cheerful service already added to bill. We are local but won't come again!!

Terrible food,cheap frozen rubbish,undrinkable wine(hard to believe I know)the restaurant was ok,one toilet for all.I sent back main order,which they did take off the bill and all of it was the cheapest ingredients,tasteless and disappointed.

Went here a while back for my brother’s birthday. They made us feel so special and looked after! Food was lovely but the highlight of the evening was the amazing service. They went above a beyond! The atmosphere was perfect!

Good food and service. The price was before 5pm so a really good one. We both had spaghetti bolognese. It was tasty. Would go back again. And was enough to fill me till the next day.

Booked a table for 5 on the lads night out , all food was fresh and nicely done , we went for the 3 course meal and this was the best choice . The Aphrodite wine very nice but not sure how authentic this food was. Greek salad use to excite me but nowadays a bit of lettuce and tomato next to a small pile of Feta seems to constitute a Greek salad, wasn't really impressed with the mixed meze either, Calamari also rubbery, I could go on...Stavros indeed 🤔

Fantastic meal with friends - early dinner, yesterday. Don’t understand why this restaurant is so quiet. The food was amazing. I had dolmades and then stifado for main. The rice was the nicest I’ve had, very buttery and full of flavour. Friends meals were all great too. Will definitely go again!

Little Greek taverna tucked away in a quiet little street. Fantastic location. There was a good menu choice. The starter was delicious 😋 but the main course (mixed kebab) was a bit tasteless. Shame. But on the whole the food was good. Chips were nice 🙂🙂🙂

Excelent place for lunch and dinner, amazing food and friendly staff

Visited here for a lunch date in January. As expected on the barbican at that time of year we were the only customers. The Greek wine varafe was fabulous. We got a meze lunch deal which was excellent value. The food was pretty good, without being out of this world. The server was very good, read when we needed him without awkwardly hanging around, particularly important given we were the only table. The baklava for dessert was to die for. Cannot recommend that enough!! Overall a decent value lunch.

Had a cheeky couple of days in Plymouth and as we love Greek food decided to have dinner at Stavros. We had a starter of Tzatziki and warm pita bread which was lovely. I had the Stifado and my wife had the Kleftiko for mains. The food was excellent and came with both rice and potato. The meat was so tender. The staff are so lovely and attentive. Without doubt the best Greek meal I have had in the UK. Highly recommend

I loved this restaurant! We came as a large group including one in a wheelchair and they were very accommodating! The service was excellent and the decor was beautiful. We had the meze which was £25 per person. It was great value for money, there was so much food and the starters were amazing! Some of the starters you do not usually get given as part of a meze deal at other greek restaurants so we were very pleased! Lots of flavour and definitely fresh! Absolutely amazing tiramisu too! The Stavros restaurant has some tough competition on the Barbican but in my opinion is one of the best . Unlike some other establishments around you are not packed together and have plenty of space put this together with fabulous food great service and value for money this is the place to go to .

The food was delicious, fresh, and a super filling portion. We got the tzatziki and two chicken platters and the chicken was so juicy and flavourful. Everything was amazing and the service was great! Resul was so kind and offered some free liqueur and desert. The tiramisu was so light and not too sweet. The baklava was nutty and had such a deep complex flavour. I would definitely recommend this place as it completely exceeded my expectations.
