Zeus in Plymouth

Recently visited after many years on someone's recommendation. We were not disappointed. We both had roast chicken which was lovely. I also went for the KitKat cheesecake which was ok. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Prices were very good value, we will return soon.

Delicious hot roast turkey dinner with fresh vegetables, chocolate orange cheesecake, friendly waitress even though the restaurant was full.

Came here today with my friend after the place being suggested and I was not disappointed. From the moment we stepped inside the staff were very welcoming and so friendly. I had the 2 meals for £18 I chose the garlic mushrooms for starter and the creamy garlic chicken and both meals were delicious we got complimentary bread and butter which I used to mop up the garlic sauce from the mushrooms (I will say tho it is extremely garlicy so not recommended if you like a little garlic but I loved it partner not loving it from me ATM tho lol) the creamy garlic chicken again was strong in garlic flavour but the cream in the sauce helped and paired with the rice it was a lovely meal and will definitely be going again x

Christmas meal out with friends. Chose mixed roast and sticky toffee pudding. Think school dinners (poor ones at that). We won't be back. Good service though.

Great food at a reasonable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Comfortable seats in a cosy restaurant.

We arrived an hour earlier than our booking time which wasn't a problem. Food was lovely and hot and the staff were lovely. Didn't have any waiting time between courses and not rushed

Hands down the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. As a dairy free veggie good food is hard to come by, Zeus came up with the goods. Very relaxed and friendly. Highly recommend

Hadn't been in years so we were told it was better than when we'd first went many years ago. Wasn't expecting great and sadly wasn't amazing. Food was ok, very overpriced for the child's portion you recieve. Paid 30 for a meat feast as they call it, lamb chop was abit the length of my 4 index fingers with one tiny bite of meat on it, steak wasn't cooked rare as asked for if you could have called the palm sized piece of meat a steak, gammon was equivalent to a streak of bacon, one egg and a sauce bowl with 5 mushrooms and peas for 30 pounds, I didn't even get a portion of chips to myself as told they were to share as they brought out 4 little trays of chips for a table of 10. Staff were lovely but sadly way over priced for portions and quality.

Delicious generous portion, food served quickly and tasty roast dinner. Two waitresses very friendly and served us quickly.

The service was amazing and nothing was too much trouble served by a lady who I thought was the owner/manager Maitre D lovely lady. We were disappointed with the Pork chop it was flat and overcooked promised it would be 1 inch thick it wasn't. My Lamb was delicious fell off the Bone the chips also lovely as was the Greek Salad and bowl of Olives the Bread was crusty and soft in the middle lovely. To start we had Mushrooms in a creamy white sauce and King prawns also lovely. Apart from the PORK CHOP everything was perfect. We had a lovely time.

We had such a lovely lunch today. The food was delicious and the service was 5* we were served by Leanne. She was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Thank you Leanne

Great meal tonight at Zeus, the service was fast and friendly and the food absolutely brilliant, a real find in Plymouth.

This is a good family restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff and fast service. There a couple of fixed menus to choose to cater for your budget as well as stand alone items. The food was piping hot and very tasty. We had home made soup to start, with lots of crusty bread and butter. A lamb roast for our main course and a delicious desert. This is £15/ head but that’s is from the first menu aimed at “the lighter bite”. I have been before and I would definitely go again.

We came tonight for the first time it just so happened to be England football playing so the restaurant was pretty empty. But we will return as the food was lovely and so was the service. We enjoyed our visit and thank you

Great meal served by very helpful and happy staff.This is one place where the chef really knows how to cook liver.Absolutely superb and in onion and gravy only one of two laces capable of serving this dish as it should be.Well done excellent staff who really try hard to look after your needs.8

Came to Zeus for dinner, the food tasted really good and the service was brilliant! Food portions are huge, even the starters! Highly recommended, will be back when again in Plymouth 🩷

What more can you say? We went in on the 27/04/23 and it was absolutely fantastic, greeted immediately with warm welcome, the service was amazing, the 2 waitresses were warm and happy ladies. The food was flavoursome and the atmosphere was great. Will return when in the area once more

Very nice restaurant with delicious food. All guests with us eating there absolutely loved each dish and everyone wants to go back again. The staff where friendly and helpful. Great relaxing atmosphere.

Meant to be a hen do. Sent steak back as it was mainly fat. Staff argued with me about it and brought it back to me! Chef REFUSED to do another one. They then got me a replacement which was meant to be BBQ chicken melt but was a plate of smashed flat chicken in a soup of BBQ sauce. Everyone who had gravy found it overly salty. Wouldn't visit again. Who argues with a paying customer? £17 for essentially a portion of chips

As we walked in we were made to feel welcome and felt as if we belonged. Fast efficient service and perfect homemade food.

Amazing 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Restaurant. The staff were amazing especially Julia who was so kind, caring and professional and she made sure that we had all we needed. The food was just beautiful. The roast dinners were just like a homemade roast my Nan would make and just lovely. The kleftico was just beautiful. The desserts were also fabulous, we especially enjoyed the home made cheesecake and the apple crumble and bread and butter pudding. Thank you for such a lovely meal, for great service and for such a cheap yet wonderful meal. Amazing value for money. I would honestly recommend Zeus to you all. Literally half the price we would normally pay for a family of four to eat out in Plymouth. We will be back soon! 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ xxx

Service was good but ….. starters were very slow over 30 minutes to get 2 cold starters, a further 40 mins for mains which were terrible sauces were bitter and chicken was overcooked! VERY DISAPPOINTED

One thing about Plymouth is that their are many places to eat, I think that Zeus is definitely worth going for a meal, cannot fault the food or the service

Cannot fault the food (we've eaten here many times). Service is always friendly and quick. Decor could do with a spruce up. It's not overly dated but not particularly modern either. Don't let this one negative put you off, this is a great, value for money restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Love going here really friendly and nice warm feel to it. Really good menu. One of my favourite places to eat out.

Ordered the Sunday roast.tbh I felt disappointed when the plate was handed to me. It looked a little sad for itself, especially if like me your used to a Sunday carvery! Although it lacked in presentation and volume, I must give credit where credits due, the food was fantastic. The meat (pork and beef) was perfect, tender, and cooked, just perfect. I was not disappointed by a single thing on my plate. The price was very reasonable for 6 people. My only disappointment was the lack of homemade rice pudding, I was really looking forward to it, but i guess that gives me more than 1 reason return.

Had a works Christmas dinner here with nearly 20 people , and my first time to the restaurant. The service was incredible, nothing was too much for the staff. And the meals came out perfectly timed so we were able to eat at the same time.

Lovely place to eat, great tasty food.

Fancied a Greek meal, so went for the Greek Menu. This didn't start well as the restaurant had no Ouzo which is a Greek aperitif.. I had a mixed Kebab which had lots of freshly cooked food, but very greasy rice, totally unlike modern Greek cuisine.

A great find in Plymouth near the market - outside and inside seating. The staff were very welcoming and friendly - great choices on the menus including a variety of vegetarian. The beef stroganoff was worth the visit on its own.

Food was great , we eat from the Greek menu and the lamb shank was to die for melted in ur mouth, the mixed kebab was also tasty ,,, thanks for the great food and great staff

Really disappointed we've been loads of times and it's always been brilliant.....the chips were burnt and just on the plate not in the lovely basket they usually come out in.the steak pie was swimming in gravy and had no veg with it. There was only one choice of pudding and the wafer was soggy! The place smelt of wee and it seemed so very different from our previous visits .....sad but we won't go back

We previously stopped here for a drink in the sun, we came back again as we really liked the place and where greeted by a woman this time, we asked for two g and t's and where told if your not eating you can have drinks...we did say we've previous sat outside for drinks?...she was very rude in saying it and walked off.... Why not say we can't provide drinks unless your eat something so we offer a small platter of food or nibbles?...we would have been quite happy with this and understand perhaps the owner shouldn't have served us drinks last time....overall she lost a customer and gained a negative review be side of her poor sales and attitude....we walked to the Barbican and had nibbles and a G and T instead - what a shame for the business.

Absolutely amazing, went there Friday lunch time with my GF for our date day, and as soon as we entered we were welcomed with a smile from Jessica, she told us straight away what wasn't on menu so no confusion, she went above and beyond, she was on her own to begin with and she dealt with a busy lunchtime really well, Jessica you were remarkable.

Fantastic food great atmosphere

Went yesterday for lunch at 2oclock. I was sat in a booth which was directly opposite the kitchen and what I saw I wasn't impressed with. Although the food and the service was very good I don't appreciate seeing the fat chef coughing and sneezing all over the food he's preparing. And not covering his mouth. Won't be going back.

Great food the sides to the moussaka are a bit weird, it's strange to have roast potatoes and veg served along side a dish like that especially given it has potato In it. But the food is tasty and very good value for money.

Not only were the staff so so lovely but the food we had was amazing! Only reason for 4 starts and not 5 for food was some items weren't available, which is understandable, though we weren't told as we were seated so decisions were made prior to knowing what wasn't available. Though, despite this the staff were super lovely and we did joke about it so absolutely no offence meant to them ❤️ I do want to know how they spice their greens on the steak pie dish, as I never thought the green part of my meal would be my favourite! Food was absolutely incredible so chef is top teir! 👌 will definitely be back and hopefully I'll get to try the bread and butter pudding this time 🤣

Went here for a change today for a late lunch. NEVER AGAIN! Chefs swearing in the kitchen, very loud banter from the kitchen when you're trying to have a bit of quiet time! Absolutely disgusting, watery, luke warm minestrone soup! burnt over cooked veg, stringy fatty meat on my roast! Yuk! Mixed Grill was tiny for the price! Everything fried to within an inch of its life! Then a £60 bill to boot! Completely A Waste of Money! Needless to say, we definitely will not be back!!!!!

Beautiful food, cooked to perfection and lovely friendly & efficient service.

Louisa the waitress could not be more helpful, constantly making sure we had enough drinks, we were happy with the food, engaging in conversation and cooing over our children, She really made our party of 12 feel welcome. The food is insane, so tasty, and on a busy Saturday night under immense pressure Louisa and Lee make it look like a breeze. I will be returning, thankyou!!

Amazing food and great staff really enjoyed our Xmas meal here. Staff were great and very knowledgeable about the menu really great food and value for money. I had the poached sea bass with scallops and prawns would highly recommend.

First class food and service treated by my daughter good choice

We went for a Christmas meal and had pre ordered food prior to the actual date. On arrival they had no idea of the food list even though this had previously been sent to them. The starter (prawn cocktail) was pretty tasteless. We then had to wait about about 1hr for the mains (turkey roast). This was also not great as the sprouts were rock hard, parsnips and carrot dried out and generally as a meal it was very underwhelming. Many other in the party also stated their different choices of meals were not great either. Finally my dessert was a small slice of super chewy Christmas pudding with a bit of custard. Overall very disappointed, I would probably never eat there again.

Very poor meal went there on Tuesday for meal first they was out of a lot on the manu and beef I had wasn’t great tasteless and veg was rock hard Only thing good was potato’s had apple crumble for after the crumble was like rock wasn’t very impressed with it there at all

Rather mediocre. The calamari had a stringy bit that was hard to chew so I choked on them a few times and had to pull it out of my throat, but if you cut the calamari and take it out first it’s better. Just be careful not to eat it in one go. Flavour of the sauce that went with it was good though. The pitta bread felt store bought, a little burnt and dry. Chicken a la Greek seems a little overpriced for what it is, since they were just two fillets buried under sauce, though I suppose the portions of all the food is quite large. Halloumi was as I expected though, and the carrots that went with the chicken tasted sweet.

Friendly service, reasonable prices. Very busy after late night shopping but they fitted us in and we didn't have a long wait for our suppers!

Very disappointing christmas dinner. I had the seabass which was by far the smallest meal on the table. It came with a tiny dry side salad and some soggy chips. The fish itself was also very small. And they charged 3£ surcharge for that meal in addition to what was already a pricey christmas dinner which made it very very poor value. Will not be going there again.

Been here a few times food always beautiful cooked perfect. And very reasonable prices. Get your self in here. The last time we went however was slow service compared to normal which was the only let down.

12 of us went for a meal for my neices birthday food was amazing.

Family had 21st birthday party there twelve of us food very good ,compliments to chef,but also the staff very pleasant at all times,nothing to much trouble. Very pleased would recommend . Certainly would go there again.

Buyer beware. I’ve used the restaurant on several occasions. I’ve found the staff discriminate against you if you’re on your own. You’ll be offered the worst seat in the restaurant and will need to ask three times before getting a seat by the window. I’ve agreed a price for food at the table and then charged a higher price at the till. Complaints. Lee the owner/manager will not listen to complaints. My personal feelings. The owner/manager will rob you blind and hurt you to make £1.

I had the roast pork but half of it was fat around the meat! I won't be having that again!!

It's the first time I've been there. meal excellent staff very helpful nothing to much trouble. Will definitely go there again. Well worth a visit.
