Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.

I went to the cakebox for the first time and it most definitely won't be the last. The cake was the most amazing cake I've ever tasted, the sponge was so light a real delight. My son love rhe cake as ut was for his birthday. Thankyou cakebox.

Visited the cake box for a Victoria sponge cake for my dad’s 80th birthday. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the choice of cakes were huge. We personalised ours with a few words in icing and candles. We picked it up on time and it looked lovely. However on eating it we were so pleased at how light and beautiful it was. I can say it’s one of the best if not the best Victoria sponge we’ve ever tasted. My father was exceptionally happy so bonus all round. Great value excellent service amazing taste. Well done cake box. See you soon 🤗

Called in on 27/12 to find something for grandma and found a very suitable intensely rich multi choc circular cheesecake with an ironic Oreo biscuit in the centre on top. Interesting that before we chose we found the two very friendly and helpful female staff absolutely declined to off even a guess at the distinction in taste and content between vegan and non vegan cakes. Turned out ours was eggless rather than vegan. But for just over £12 it served its purpose well and on delivery grandma immediately tucked into two large pieces.

I’ve had cake box a few times, and every time the cakes are beautiful and delicious! The staff are always really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend :)

Since I discovered this place a few months ago it is always top choice for breakfast or lunch. Atmosphere is great staff are welcoming and the food always great.

Richmond WalkMy friend and I had a wonderful day here a few weeks ago... Starters, mains, desserts, wine and cocktails all excellent. I had the roast which had a generous portion of beautifully tender beef. The absolute cheery on top was Hayley, who took care of us all day with friendly, attentive care - she left us to our epic catch up, but always noticed when a glass or plate was empty. Thank you - we'll be back!!

20 The BarbicanWe have been using the CB in Plymouth since it opened under Kat and David the service has been brilliant we go most days sometime twice in the day.!! There is nothing not to like the staff are great, your coffee is very good quality and we eat too many of your lovely pastries which are cooked fresh every day.mmmm

2 St Andrew StreetThe Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.

44 Hooe RoadVisited La Bouche at the Fort (Fort Stamford health and fitness) today for their Christmas afternoon tea. There were mini quiches, sausage roll, sausage square, pig in blanket, and filo pastry cheese parcel, all served warm with a dipping gravy. Turkey, Brie and cranberry sandwiches, orange and mixed spice scones with jam and clotted cream, meringues with lemon, chocolate tarts and mince pies. Hopefully I haven’t forgotten anything! Oh yes a hot drink too!, There wasn’t one item I didn’t enjoy - everything tasty and yummy. All served by brilliant staff, clean and welcoming. Well done to Louis and Amy for the best I’ve ever had
