Cakewhole in Plymouth

Bought a large selection of vegan traybakes for a party recently! All the cakes were delicious and guests loved them! Team were easy to deal with, professional and friendly. Highly recommend for vegan cakes :)

Recently I received a cake which was probably the worst I have tasted. The filling was just sugar. The sponge lacked any softness. Sorry to say I wouldn’t recommend.

I recently ordered a lemon cake for my husband's birthday, expecting the same delicious quality as my previous purchases. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. Although the cake looked appealing, it lacked any lemon flavor, the base was dry and crumbly, and the cream was nothing more than solid butter with gritty, unmelted sugar. This was quite a letdown for such a special occasion.

Cakes taste amazing and they are great for sharing! My favourite was the peanut butter brownie. Thank you, Natalie!

Me and my husband, came in for a coffee this morning. The ladies were really busy making up cakes ECT. They were really friendly and lovely ladies. The cakes looked nice, even though we didn't have one this morning. We will come back and have a try another day. The coffee was really good as well, lovely place to have a drink in the outside area.

I was late ordering a cake for my sons birthday - Cakewhole took my order without any quibbles and made a fabulous Raspberry Sponge. My son said "It was the best cake he's ever tasted"! Thank you Cakewhole!

I ordered six tray bakes for my 30th Birthday. Custom service was amazing, they explained all the slice sizing and numbers and were flexible with collection. All the cakes tasted incredible. They went down a storm at the party and everyone kept asking where they were from as they were delicious. A brilliant range of Vegan and Gluten Free as well. Cannot recommend enough!

To whom it may concern, I had an enquiry to make to the company to which their response was very rude and abrupt. They proceeded to say they didn’t do celebration cakes however I have seen multiple photos of celebration cakes they’ve made.

Without a doubt this was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long while. Highly highly recommend!

At first view the cakes looked beautiful. However. £3.00 for a toasted teacake!?? Cmon? I had the coffee and walnut cake and my partner had banana cake. Both very greasy and tasteless. Sorry to say but I won't be using this establishment again.

Purchased two vegan sausage rolls, came to just under £6. I was disappointed, didn't get a hello or any acknowledgement when I walked in. Once served the lady was polite, cakes looked amazing.

Service is great, food and coffee is delicious. Gluten Free and Vegan options every day. Highly recommended

They supplied some amazing cakes and traybakes for the Very VIP event of the unveiling of the Nancy Astor Statue by Theresa May. The cakes and traybakes were a big hit with all including our Prime Minister. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Natalie and her team to deliver exactly what you ask for. I won't go in to the whole saga, it's boring... But was disappointed with the end product. Will not return and will not recommend.

Still excellent. Order ahead or go down and take pot luck. I think if you spend enough they’ll even deliver. At times when we’re still not allowed out to sit in or out of your favourite tea shop, it’s a delight to relax and with a selection of tray bakes or even a whole glorious cake with cold summer drinks or pots of tea (or something rather stronger) around the table or on a rug in the garden. We like to get a mixed box full.

Asked for a Vegan cake and also gluten free and picked up a cake that not only looked great but also tastes amazing :).

Lovely birthday cake made for my boyfriend! Due to lockdown, I couldn’t be with him, so Cakewhole made a custom cake I asked for and delivered it as a surprise for him on the date and time I requested! Brilliant help, lovely cake, good price and would absolutely order again :)

A wonderful place ! Adorable and helpful people who are not afraid to take unusual order to satisfy clients. I asked for a vegan tiramisu and the result is outstanding. I highly recommend.

Un lugar inesperado para encontrar tan increíblemente buena calidad pasteles, café y personal amable encantador. Necesitaba una parada en boxes y tropecé con ella. Pastel de café y nueces encantador y húmedo, al igual que el pastel de zanahoria - losas frescas, de buen tamaño. Altamente recomendado. Aunque está en una carretera no particularmente atractiva con tráfico, si viviera en Plymouth, ¡probablemente me saldría de mi camino para comer pastel aquí! Además, su actitud y amabilidad realmente me lo vendieron: relajado, acogedor, cálido.

Had a birthday meet up for a friend. Small seating area outside but lovely hot drinks and scrumdidliumptious cakes! I had the wheat/gluten free gooseberry,lime and elderflower polenta cake;yum. Lovely staff.Will go again.

We had the Sicilian Lemon slice and the Walnut & Coffee cake. Both were absolutely amazing. They even let my daughter sample the top of the vegan cake they were evening out for frosting. Friendly staff.

Bought my mums 50th birthday cake here and it was delicious!! They are welcoming and very helpful with ensuring we got exactly what we wanted!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Finally got a chance to pop in here after seeing lots of pictures of their cakes on social media and have a coffee and cake on their lovely patio area. I had a lemon and raspberry polenta cake and took some carrot cake home - both were really lovely and didn't have that sweet sickly artificial taste you can sometimes get. I'm quite greedy but the portion sizes were perfect and I also really like how you can see the baking area when you walk in! Lots of vegan/gluten free options, and there's a genuine cheerful and passionate vibe, I hope people support this little independent bakery. My only concern is that I didn't see an indoor seating area; outdoors is fine but what will happen in winter?? None the less it's worth a visit to pop by and try something.

Very good cakes very friendly staff do a nice coffee or tea as well and with the new decking it's nice to sit out with a good cake and a brew. Also if you want a lot of cake for a party of coffee morning you can pre-order. It's worth it I regularly have lemon slice and I have heard people rave about there brownies. They are all made in house and if they have just finished baking when you walk in the smell is wow... Just don't ask to lick the bowl out ... If you visit Plymouth it's a must the only issue is it's not in the city centre..

A year on this place is going from strength to strength. Mostly producing excellent cakes for domestic and catering use, they now provide hot and cold drinks together with a very pleasant outside shaded area to sit with coffee, cake and more. There is light traffic but not so much to deter a relaxed pit stop.

Ordered a chocolate brownie for Christmas the pudding flavour one. Turned out to be the best brownie we had tasted for a long while. A very light cake brimming with taste. While picking up the order managed to buy one of the last loaves left a sour dole one again full of flavour and still fresh some four days later.

Popped in one afternoon to buy some goodies to cheer up my work colleagues. Easy to park outside. Lovely, clean welcoming shop. Bakes in progress whilst there! So inviting and well displayed. Took advantage of a deal and got several bits of cake and some brownies. They were all superb and extremely well received at work. Prices are as expected for top quality cake. Very highly recommended for a cheeky afternoon treat!

We discovered Cakewhole about a year ago and their excellent cakes and traybakes continue to pop up in some our favourite local restaurants cafes and coffee shops. Faultless cooking, great flavours (not just classics but lots of surprising unusual and successful combinations) and all competitively priced. The lovely newly opened bakery/shop at the junction with the Co-op in Wilton Street is just right. It is not a cafe or coffee shop but it looks as though when the weather is warmer they may have a bit of decking or similar out front for those who lack the self control to take their purchases home or back to work. You could also wander down to Victoria Park. Take a look at their FB page.

We've ordered cakes an traybakes from Cakewhole in the past, and enjoyed their cakes from the independent coffee shops in Plymouth. Visiting their launch day on Saturday was awesome, such energy, passion and commitment. And of course, the cakes were amazing. I recommend the Sicilian lemon tart!

Delicious cakes. If you are looking for a celebration or just a delicious cake I'd fully recommend Cakewhole. We've orderd several cakes and they're simply amazing. They also have delicious vegan and gluten free cakes too.

Discovered Cakewhole's produce being served at GCHQ on Erbrington Street, and it is excellent. The bakewell tart is incredible, as is the carrot cake. And pretty much everything they do.

Established and well used and known in the Plymouth area, we only discovered Cakewhole last summer. Having noticed their distinctive green van around town we then discovered that this family business had supplied several of our friends with special event and also party or group catering events and then we found that they also regularly provided cakes and some deserts for well known local top flight restaurants as well as a couple of our favourite independent coffee shops. We have not found a company website but they have an easily found open social media page which has numerous photos and gives a very accurate idea of the quality style and range of the baking which includes a wide selection of tasty gluten free and vegan choices. There are a vast number of flavour and filling options. Having spoken to Natalie the very experienced owner and principal baker, it is obvious how very much she cares about quality and satisfaction; also that if you have an idea for something personal, individual, boring, flamboyant or positively quaint then they will probably more than fulfil your yearning or fantasy. This place is seriously good and although not stupidly cheap is much better value than we supposed. They don't have a shop. They are based in Plymouth. They always answer the phone or respond quickly to messages. We like cooking and can knock out kiddy and homely favourites but this place can produce just what you need for granny, a beach picnic or the tantalising fodder for a boozy or teetotal party in the park, this is a cool solution.
