Decent coffee, sandwiches, and cake..

Booked a baby shower at the cafe, and the food was amazing! Service was excellent, and we were not made to feel rushed despite staying longer than we should have (sorry!). Will be back again soon, couldn't fault it ☺️

Visited the flower cafe with my mum and two young boys during half term. We each had a lovely themed afternoon tea. The food was delicious and the detail to match the theme such as the mini cauldrons on the wizard one and the dinosaurs on the dinosaur plate each holding cucumber and chocolate fingers were a great touch, as we're the shaped sandwiches. We will definitely be back again to try the amazing looking themed hot chocolates. Staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly with my dairy intolerant child who was really happy he could have dairy free cream. He is also excited to be able come back and have a dairy free Oreo hot chocolate some time soon.

Lovely little find 😁 The drinks were amazing, more like a meal to be honest 🤣 Really good value for money considering the location, the customer service was warm and friendly and I can't wait to visit Plymouth again for my next sugar fix 👍🏼

Myself & my husband have just got home from the the flower cafe! We both enjoyed a very delicious Deluxe cream Tea. It looked amazing, The food was so fresh and delicious 😋 the staff are welcoming and friendly and very helpful! We will definitely be going back again soon and taking our 2 grandaughters so they they enjoy the childrens cream teas Thank you for a very lovely afternoon See you soon..😍

What a lovely little cafe! Really kind attentive staff, a whimsical themed seating area and great art around the place. The flowers are everywhere and add to the cosy feeling! Drinks are fab and so are the food and snacks on offer! Would recommend to all.

Lovely cafe. Friendly lady running the place (I think she is called Michelle). Not expensive. Spotless (even the toilets are spotless). Indoor or outdoor seating. Recommended. A good place for the tourists to stop for coffee.

Very highly recommend the themed afternoon teas! Absolutely gorgeous fresh food and cakes that were delicious, far too much for us to eat so had to bring boxes home! Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere! Extremely good value for money, honestly one of the best afternoon teas I have had! Thank you so much for making my nieces birthday so special!

This café used to have sofas which were really helpful to me as I have a disability but I don’t use a wheelchair. Sadly the sofas were removed a few years ago which is a shame, because I remember the cakes being amazing!

I held my daughter's birthday party at the Flower Cafe. She opted for a unicorn themed afternoon tea and cupcake decorating experience. The setting was lovely and relaxing, with colourful floral decor. The food was absolutely delicious, and came in very generous portions. The unique and indulgent hot chocolates were a particular highlight! The staff were so lovely, welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely recommend coming here either during cafe opening hours, or for a special and delightful party experience (makes a change from soft play!)

We've been here several times, more so since Claire & Dave took it over. Superb coffee, amazing cakes, and always a beautiful mural on the window for Remembrance Day. Always smiling, and always polite. Keep it up!

Best themed afternoon tea in plymouth by far not to mention probably the cheapest, themed milkshakes and hot Chocolate for kids and adults alike, we have several children with additional needs and going anywhere with them can always feel a challenge and stressful but here we always feel at home comfortable and never judged, they do anything they can (within reason obviously) to accomodate people, cannot reccomend it enough.

Love this little gem, my daughter loves having a mermaid milkshake and cupcake, perfect place for a little treat.

This cafe is by far the most friendliest cafe I've been too, nothing is too much trouble. They cater (and support) my children who have different needs and make sure everything is just right for them including making many changes to our halloween afternoon tea. The food is lovely and the drinks are just out of this world and I totally recommend the white chocolate mocha 😋. The only complaint I have is that I can't stay away.

Very lovely returning visit! The drinks and food delicious and staff are happy and welcoming. If you have not tried it, I would definitely recommend it.

Had a really nice Cream Tea at this cafe. The scones were really nice and it all came with the minimum of fuss. If I was a local this would be a cafe I would return to.

I have been here two times now and had a food experience, the staff are lovely and polite. The whole atmosphere of the place is okay, however the food is okay, I ordered carrot cake and it was warm and when I had the breakfast it had about 3 eggs worth of scrambled egg, it was all really nice just weird to eat warm carrot cake and it was too much egg.

I had a very delicious pancake 😊

one sees such a beautiful and perfect place in one's dreams. service is fast. the food and drink are delicious. everyone is nice and smiling.

Nice place. Run by a pleasant lady. Not too expensive. Bathroom is always spotless. Restaurant area is clean and tidy too. I think this cafe will be particularly loved by tourists.

We went here for lunch and the food took over 45 minutes for all of it to arrive. The service was incredibly slow and the servers were not that friendly. A very poorly run restaurant that cannot handle simple orders even on a not very busy day. There was not very many people there, and everyone's orders were taking forever. I do not reccomend for anyone looking for a meal of any sort. Despite this, it is well decorated and is a nice atmosphere in general. The food was not great, with poor quality items obviously from a cheap supermarket.

Came in with my daughter for some lunch. What a lovely little place. Nice atmosphere with lovely staff & the food was really good too. I hope to visit again next time I'm in Plymouth. The chicken & vegetable soup with thr bread & butter on the side was tasty. The chocolate milkshake was equally as good.

Lovely little cafe. And the only cafe I found in Plymouth with a selection of vegan cakes. The waitress was super helpful at checking the ingredients for me. We sat in the tiny courtyard out the back, which was a calm haven in this busy town.

Food was shocking could tell it was aldi bought , hot chocolate was really cold but there was 2 main staff members that was really nice and offered me service that I never thought I would get both girls treated me very nice throughout the whole of my stay.

The family came here for a quick dessert stop off & was met with waffles from the local Morrisons with an excess of whipped cream used to fill out the meal. £4.50 for the waffle titled “monkey goes bananas” and all that was served was a packet waffle, presumably from a local shop. On the “kinder” version of the waffles they couldn’t even be assed to provide a full kinder beuno bar. £4.50 may I remind you. We’ll take full responsibility as it was essentially someone’s house in which we stayed in a grotty garden, our fault for not going to the countless better places within the Barbican and surrounding areas, not bad for a tea or coffee but don’t get swindled by the cutesie pictures of the food as you may as well go Morrisons and get a pack of 12 waffles for a 1/3 of the price. Congratulations flower cafe on the £25 profit you made of us on packet waffles. I beg you go to any of the other dessert places across the road.

Visited over the bank Holiday weekend, fabulous little cafe . We had lunch baked potato & panini. Followed by Angel cake & then unicorn hot chocolate & mermaid milkshake . The themed drinks are amazing. Can't wait to visit again when back in Plymouth. The themed drinks 10/10

Lovely setting in a charming spot on the Barbican in Plymouth. The staff were super nice and helpful especially when it came to ordering for two young children. The cakes are to die for and the coffee beats those common places that shall not be named. Delicious fresh chocolate cake is a must have along with a warm fruit Devonshire scone, clotted cream and jam. The hot chocolates were to die for!!! If you want to have breakfast, brunch, lunch or a naughty treat then you must visit swiftly.

My friend and I pop in here last summer and we were really please how nice every thing was,we came back to visit and we were so glad we were glad we did ,our cream tea was really delicious,staff was very friendly and helpful ,lovely cafe will definitely be going back soon,thanks for your hospitality Anna &Jean x

Food was awful, soup tasted like heinze big soup, milk shake was bland , so was jacket potato, served with tasteless dry chicken, warm coffee and skinny toastie. Expensive for no effort food. Cakes might be nice, but we didn't sample those also if your a Taylor Swift fan you may love it as that was the music of choice there.

This little cafe is a gem! The food is delicious and the service is prompt, the staff are lovely and welcoming. The prices are very budget friendly too!

I had a friend come to visit me in Plymouth and I decided to book an afternoon tea for us at The Flower Cafe. I booked via Facebook messenger, gave all the order details and requested the unicorn themed afternoon tea. We were overwhelmed with how much you get for your money and the attention to detail was wonderful. The owner was so attentive and friendly, we had such a lovely time. We already can't wait for our next visit when she comes down again!

Had a lovely afternoon tea at The Flower Cafe this afternoon 😊 the food was nothing extraordinary, just good basics made well. The tea was lovely and our scones were delicious. However, the real standout for me and the reason that I will go out of my way to return is the service and atmosphere. I was waiting for my friend to arrive who was running late and the vibe was so warm and welcoming that I was never alone. If it wasn't the staff stopping by to say hi then it was the other patrons. If you yearn for the good old days of friendly and genuine people to people service, I absolutely recommend coming here. One thing that completely sums up my visit was the patron sat on the table next to me who'd stopped to talk to me about how good the service was and she'd had a fantastic visit. She had mentioned that her scone was a little crumbly so asked if she could take a few crumbs back for the birds in her garden. She was brought a little ziploc bag to take home for her birdfeeder and this small kind gesture really made her day. If you're looking to support a small local business and have a good catch up with a friend, I'd recommend The Flower Cafe every time. I may well see you there!

Had amazing hot chocolates and the team were really lovely!

I've given it five stars although I haven't actually been there. I've dropped friends off there and they've been raving about it ever since..so I'm taking my friends reaction as a guideline

Amazing hot chocolates, great pancakes, yummy cake. Amazing service, staff are always friendly and welcoming. My favourite go to place for freaky hot chocolates. The mermaid hot chocolate is incredible and the Jammie dodger white-hot chocolate is to die for absolutely delicious. Dog friendly too.

Pretty poor service provided, with wrong items being served and questions asking 'did you order this' The cake, Lemon drizzle, was stone cold, the sponge collapsed into thousands of tiny particals which were hard to eat. Why refrigerate cake? It's a shame because the interior is very nice. The 'garden' less so.

Having coffee with my son and a guy in front card was declined :( The shop still gave him a coffee whilst my son bought his cake ! Well done to the flower cafe lovely to see they care x

Nachdem wir den Hafen im Regen erkundet haben, kam uns dieses nette kleine Café gerade recht, nur einige Schritte in die Stadt und schon haben wir in diesem süßen Café gesessen. Süß bis herzhaft, es war für jeden etwas auf der Speisekarte zu finden. Ich hab mich für Cremetea entschieden, siehe Foto.

I was totally ignored four times this morning! I walked in and ignored. I sat down and watched the waitress walk by me into the "Oops a Daisy" room and totally ignored. She walked back out and I smiled and said "excuse me" (wanting to ask if it waitress service) but was totally ignored. Having asked the two other customers what the routine was, I then went down to place an order. I waited but nobody came out so I left. Sorry but absolutely no stars warranted at all as service appalling!

Friendly staff and good food, stopped here for breakfast on a wander round Plymouth … had the pancakes and bacon and a light brunch, very nice.

Very pretty place with nice friendly staff however I must say the food was not pleasant at all, I ordered scrambled eggs and asked if it was possible to have fried eggs and the response I got was “unfortunately not as all our eggs are microwaved”…I certainly do not appreciate being served microwaved eggs that tasted wet and unpleasant when being charged over £20 for my visit! It makes me wonder if everything else is also microwaved. The desserts are nice though so would recommend those.

Absolutely wonderful! Have visited the cafe previously and always enjoy the novelty hot chocolates. Under new ownership, they've changed the menu, but improved the range of hot chocolate and included milk shakes, which look amazing! They had a large gathering that we're ordering/being served just as we arrived. They made us feel welcome and valued as customers. Apologised profusely for the more than understandable wait. Food was fabulous and well portioned. Kids enjoyed one each of the hot chocolates and milkshakes and I had a pot of tea which filled 3 cups. Lovely, pleasant atmosphere and kind thoughtful owners. We will be back!

We went there for a bespoke private event. Enjoyed it very much. I had the gluten free tea for one. The only reason it loses a star; for the price, £10.99, although it was reasonable enough, I would have liked more than a single cup of coffee. Maybe a small cafetiere or at least a refill. I had a sandwich, a scone with jam and cream and a coffee. I asked for a small jug of tap water too. There were pots of tea for those having tea but no pots of coffee and no pots of hot water. That said, the food was wonderful and everything else was perfect. My sandwich was cheese and cucumber with nice gluten free bread and the right depth of filling but no seasoning and the scone was perfect. The scone had just the right texture and didn't taste gluten free. I asked for my own pot of jam and cream as everyone else assumed I was getting them and divided their group teas accordingly which was fair enough. The service ( new owner last September) was wonderful and this small gripe didn't diminish the fun of the occasion. But more drinks would have made it perfect. It was a hot day and we arrived thirsty. The presentation was gorgeous and we all had china cake stands placed in front of us. It felt like a posh spa weekend but convivial and great for chatting. There are now several plant based and gluten free cakes and a red velvet cake and a caramel cake that were highly praised by those who had the deluxe tea. I highly recommend this place. You would struggle to get to the toilet if in a wheelchair, possibly, but this is an old building. It may be that they have a portable ramp for the doorway, I don't know. Otherwise, it's all ground level including the toilets, which I didn't visit.

I wanted to like this place as the dining area seems pretty and there's an outdoor seating space but unfortunately the food wasn't great - edible but not very nice and it was quite crowded.

The Flower Cafe was an AMAZING venue for our little meet up. They were really organised and communication beforehand was exceptional. All the food was delicious and they catered well for everyone. Thank you for having us!

My wife suggested we first this small cafe on the Barbican. It was quite quiet and the service was quick. I had a nice cappuccino but my wife went for one of their speciality hot chocolates. This is an oreo one, heaped full of goodies (and possibly a few cslorues). Really nicely presented and good service

We went to the cafe for a cream tea and we were not dissapointed. It was lovely .Nice and clean, great service .

Lovely light brunch, drinks and staff. We always enjoy the decor and the surroundings, the effort they put in makes the place welcoming. Prices are very competitive. Well worth a visit.

Lovely quaint coffee shop, Gorgeous Cream Teas even available to Take Away

Dropped in for a cream tea on our walk around the Barbican. Glad Duttons was closed now now as the gluten free scones are the best we’ve had. Very moist and not crumbling to dust like most gluten free scones do. Tea was very good too. Returned another afternoon to have another cream tea before we returned home.

Loved The Flower Cafe. Breakfast was fantastic and the latte well made. Service couldn’t have been any better. We met the owner, David, and he told us about some local places to go. Super nice guy. If you want a lovely local place to grab a bite I highly recommend The Flower Cafe.

Was lovely revisiting the flower cafe, nice to have more vegan options available and the vegan chocolate cake was amazing and even the hot chocolates are now available with vegan cream on top!!! Will be back when next visiting Plymouth

Very good value and in exactly the right place for a successful cafe. Very well staffed by the owner and her team. I can't recommend it strongly enough.

Visiting from Coventry looked in a number of eateries mostly empty and not cheap.The flower was almost full a good sign.The cafe was spotless and really nicely decorated,Ordered the light brunch did not expect much for the price but was pleasantly surprised it was very good

Cream tea was excellent. The scones were not large but they were light and melted in your mouth.the English tea hit the spot after a wander round the barbican.
