I guess we must have gone on a bad day but honestly, very underwhelmed! Nearly £30 for two drinks and two bagels you think ok, this is gonna be out of this world, but we were left feeling short changed. We ordered the salted beef bagel which needed more salt and I’ve had a lot tastier sauerkraut, it was large so portion size was good but it just tasted very average, we also had the halloumi one but they forgot to add the chilli jam which is one of the main ingredients so no idea how they missed that, we bought them to go and only noticed when we got home! The coffee was ok but the chai latte was luke warm at best! All in all, for the price, and the reputation, we were left disappointed.

Had an early start so called in for a takeaway coffee for my boat trip, and pleased to find a gluten-free cake (most coffee shops and cafés only offer pre-packed, sugar laden options, yuk). The Hutong Bagel Co café had an attractive display of fresh-looking cakes, with the gluten-free option being a moist orange and almond cake which was delicious, not too sweet. Takeaway price for one slice around £3.30, a black coffee also around £3.30. A couple of tables on the pavement and a couple inside too.

The easiest review I have ever given! The bagels here are unmatched. I have sampled other places for fresh breakfast bagels....don't waste your time. The staff , locations and vibe is ace here. The food is fairly priced for the quality you get and is worth every penny. Keep doing what your doing, never change.

First visit but definitely not the last. Absolutely fantastic bagels, beautiful flavours with quality ingredients. The Egg and Bacon and the Salt Beef ones were stunning. And then there was the coffee, wow! Best coffee I’ve had in ages. A must visit if you are in the area.

Absolutely amazing, from coffee to bagels (all are amazing!) what a treat. Will be back, a lot! Salted beef, bacon and egg and soft cheese - all equally amazing and super generous with fillings. The all things bagel is sooo good.

At about 7am this morning tripped over this amicable and useful stall snook into the western end of the multi-storey car park at North Road station. More convenient than the place inside next to Smiths or on the platforms. Hutong sell decent coffee and a wide selection of drinks but most usefully filled bagels and falafel as well as predictable but tasty brownies and similar. Apparently they intend to be there every weekday.

Easy peasy the best cafe in Plymouth. Everything is made fresh. The bagels are out of this world. Perfect buns and absolutely packed full of prime ingredients. Set in a beautiful location so a perfect spot for a takeaway breakfast. The coffee is also FANTASTIC, a solid win for me.

Reviewed Hutong several years ago. Same story with the coffee, its nice coffee but small cup sizes ,you will get more quantity of a similar standard for your money elsewhere . Had a well filled Bagel the fillings were good but the bread itself rather ordinary. Staff and service friendly and efficient . Only came due to the strange people flapping the hype

I came here before and had the absolute best experience. So with the massive hype I created about it I visited today with my partner about to introduce him to the amazing Hutong. Left fuming. We came for the salt beef bagel and hash browns, sorry there is no salt beef or hash browns and only standard bagels….. right. But ok I can cope with that so we ordered two standard bagel bacon, eggs and cheese. High hopes as obv the experience before was insane. The iced coffee we ordered was immense. No issues there. But the bagel - the bagel absolutely made me flip a lid. I didn’t flip a lid but inside I was fuming. I’m on a bit of a diet and so I was annoyed that I had received this inadequate stale bagel filled with what can only be described as stringy bacon fat and I’m pretty sure the only bit of cheese and tomato sauce that they put in it was seeping out of the hole in the middle. So I consumed a ton of calories when I’d have been happier I think consuming that same amount of calories as part of a McDonald’s breakfast. I was going to say something and refuse to eat it and get a refund but I was too angry by this point that I couldn’t talk through the fire breathing I was doing. So…. If salt beef and hash browns are on the menu, by all means spend your money, but if not, and you don’t go much on salmon or meatless options then just save yourself the hassle and drive to McDonald’s before 11am.

Having heard some good reports about Hotung Cafe, we gave it a try. It was packed at 13:00, people are voting with their feet! We still did manage to get a table, which are limited in these small premises. The range of cakes etc. was impressive, but we wanted savoury, so had the filled bagels. None of us would normally choose a bagel, but it seemed to be a speciality of the house and baked on the premises, so we went for it.... and we weren't disappointed. A very tasty and enjoyable lunch. We went again a few weeks later, a little bit later and it was quieter, but still had a nice buzz. There's no doubt that we will be returning periodically.

I’ve driven/walked past The Hutong Cafe so many times, and on Wednesday morning we finally visited. We opted for two bagels - Halloumi, Red Pepper & Spinach, and Salt Beef, Sauerkraut & Mustard Mayo. They were to die for, reasonably priced and absolutely massive in size. The service was quick and everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be visiting more regularly!

Best coffee in Plymouth by a long way! Small place, usually busy, but fast turnover and great service. Sit in if you can get a table or stool, or across the cobbled roadway in the sun. Nice snacks too. Visiting RW Yard or Admiralty Cottages this was our go-to for flat whites and cinos. 6 out 5.

I went with my friend to get a takeaway lunch and drink on Easter day. Although food was wrapped in brown paper, the takeaway coffee cup was entirely made of plastic. The base was biodegradable, but the lid and the straw not. I was surprised to see that there are still shops that serve drinks with plastic straws, whereas even some very nasty pubs have paper straws these days. These surely left a bad impression of the cafe, which seems quite nice and well maintained otherwise.

The menu looked amazing but she was going out to dinner in the evening so didn't want something big and the man there (sorry I didn't ask your name) said that he'd sort something out for us so she could have a small plate so we ended up sharing which was perfect! Felt really well catered for. Have since taken a few of my friends there too to eat as they'd previously wandered into RWY and had missed this gorgeous spot. Food is so nice and the coffee is lovely! Plus if it's raining I do think it's the best place ever to be in as it's so cosy!!! I do keep kicking myself that I keep missing tickets to their events! I will make it on day!!!! Thanks guys!! :)

Fletchers seemed like the perfect place to celebrate my daughter's graduation, we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and seated, of the two options we went for the a la carte over the tasting menu, both looked fantastic and not overwhelming. We were impressed by every plate that came out, immaculately presented and described. I started with the pigeon wellington, this was a triumph, I would certainly recommend! I followed with the venison to continue my game journey, perfectly following on and the recommended wine complimenting my food perfectly. I opted for the soufflé to end my meal, perfectly risen, bursting with raspberry with a beautiful pistachio ice-cream and creme anglase to accompany a perfect end to an amazing meal.
