I’ve been visiting Plymouth for work for a number of years and tripped over Salumi quite a while ago. Whenever I’m in Plymouth I always visit for an evening meal as it is so consistent. The staff are extremely friendly without being overbearing, the atmosphere always make you feel comfortable and the food never lets you down. When you work away from home regularly, it’s a comfort knowing there’s a place where you are guaranteed all of these things. Basically, make yourself a promise to visit Salumi, you won’t be at all disappointed.

This laidback pub that has a quirky interior delivers some of the nicest gastro sytle food in the city. We went for my friends birthday and started with the sharing board and a bottle of wine which was the perfect start to our experience. The staff here were knowledgeable but not pushy and left us to catch up rarther than constantly hovering around. The menu is not extensive but has a number of classic dishes done their way and everything we ate was executed perfectly. I will definitely be returning!

This was THE BEST,MOST TASTEFUL FOOD EVER!!!!! I cannot recommend this place enough!!! The food was on a different level!!! Had mackerel pate and roast beef and I could eat it all day!!!! EVERY mouthful was just incredible!!! Do yourselves a favour and book a table and get ready for the meal of your life!!!!! Yum yum yum!!!! AMAZING!!!!! Can't wait to go back (the roast potatoes are unbelievable)!!!!!

We went for the Sunday roast. There was plenty of choice for vegetarians and the food was absolutely outstanding. Potatoes were to die for! Such amazingly tasty food and fantastic, friendly service from all the staff. Definitely recommend a visit for Sunday lunch. We all came away satisfied and will definitely go back!

10/10 roast , prok belly was cooked amazing , crackling spot on. All the veg was super tasty , Yorkshire perfect. The staff were an asset to the team. So friendly bright and bubbly. Nothing was enough. Quick to look after us . And checked in on us a few times to see if we were okay . If I was to nitpick I’d say my only helpful feedback would be a little more apple sauce and slightly bigger veg pots, Really great food and service !!

We were staying at the Moxy, more or less across the road. While there were various snacks available we were looking for a meal and Salumi was on the list of local places to eat. I called to book and it was very busy but we were offered a table if we could arrive no later than 15 minutes later. We quickly set out and got there on time; we were pleased we had done so. I had mentioned that my Wife had some mobility issues - and we used her wheelchair in the interests of speed. Salumi is on a number of levels but has a good area at entrance level which suited us perfectly. All the Staff were welcoming, polite and friendly. We were quickly brought water and menus. We chose drinks, Old Mout non-alcoholic ciders. The Menu offered a good range of choices including Vegan and Allergy conscious options. A map on the wall showed the locations and names of their local suppliers. We chose the venison and fish mains. My venison was tender and tasty and beautifully cooked. It came with a Venison Pie, chestnut puree, charred radicchio and a wonderful Jus. My wife had the battered lemon sole with peas, chips, curry sauce and sauce tartare (home made). All the items were served separately which was a good touch. We both enjoyed every single morsel. We had dessert and a cheese plate. The dessert was fairground doughnuts with chocolate sauce and caramel ice cream. My cheese, a local blue and soft cheese, was served with a honey drizzled banana loaf and walnuts with a quince sauce. We had a latte and hot chocolate. The Bill came to a total of £88 and was well worth the cost. I added a tip particularly because we had been so well looked after by Sally and her colleagues. They have good wine and drinks choices including non-alcoholic options. Their Brunch, served on Saturdays, looked very interesting and they have a “tasting menu” of 5 Courses for a competitive £42 per head. It was comfortable with a good ambience and was clearly busy on a regular basis. We liked the look of the Sunday Lunch too.We are fortunate to have dined and dine at some excellent restaurants and brasseries and Salumi was well up to standard. We will certainly return when we are next in the area and recommend it highly. ,

Booked table for 8 on Saturday night. Table not ready when we turned up on time had to wait at least 30 minutes before ready. Told when booking we had to pre-order which we did. 4 people ordered ribeye steak which was then changed to rump, 2 ordered cod which was then changed to lemon sole! . Ordered wine which by the way is different than on web site( rioja on web site £30 in restaurant £39.50) and after 5 mins was told it would be a while as they had run out of clean wine glasses! Food arrived for 7 of us but had to wait for the last steak as it was well done! Food was ok steak over salted and no way near worth prices being charged. Bill over £400 and as you can gather we will not be returning as it is so overpriced for both quality of service and food.

We had a lovely meal at salumi. Our waiter Matt was amazingly attentive, made sure we had everything we needed, he had a very professional manner. The food was amazing as per normal with all our steaks cooked to perfection. I could not find a single flaw in anything from tonight's service/food. Thank you salumi and staff.

We came across Salumi by surprise as we were staying locally for the night. What a fabulous surprise and choice. We hadn’t booked but, even so, were warmly welcomed and shown to a table near the bar with comfortable bucket seats and table. The drinks service was prompt and with a smile. The menu choices looked good but it wasn’t until the food arrived that we realised we had hit upon a real gem. I had the black bream which was perfectly cooked with the addition of the best chips - ever! A big portion of them too. My husband had the fish and chips (his ‘go to’ dish) and wasn’t disappointed. We’d had a tough and sad day so I convinced husband to have a pudding with two spoons. Crème brûlée but with so much more…an addition of a scoop of rhubarb sorbet on a bed of sweet biscuit crumbs and a sublime, was it deep fried? …apple and rhubarb ‘something’ - devine. We asked our server to tell the chef how much we enjoyed our evening at Salumi, as well as all the staff who made it such a relaxed and enjoyable experience. If we are ever back in Plymouth, this is where you’ll find us.

Several friends and family have suggested I visit Salumi. I was really looking forward to visiting and booked a pre-theatre visit at 6pm on a Sunday. Lovely place, nice ambience and good service. The big disappointment for me was after we ordered drinks and looked at the menu - we realised it was a Sunday menu. Oh well our fault for not checking. There were only four mains/large plates and four 'roasts'. We we informed that of the four roast they were out of Beef & Chicken, of the four mains they were out of fish. So excluding the vegan options this left me with a choice of Roast pork or a burger. Meh! I guess this can't be helped but it was very disappointing and not the experience I was hoping for. Staff were great but the menu and stock was below par.

The guy in the kitchen definitely knows what he does. Raise the hat for the flavour of the dishes and the place itself is lovely. Don't miss if you're in town.

We saw this restaurant in the “Trencherman’s Guide”. Especially as it was open on a Monday. The welcome was lovely and the food terrific. Served beautifully on interesting crockery. It’s tucked on a corner the docks. The area is being developed so it’s a bit dour but walk inside it’s like an Aladdin’s cave with areas on different levels. You can tell a great restaurant by its loos both were exemplary. We would thoroughly recommend you visit!

Everything was AMAZING! I got the steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant. The customer service was just as amazing as the food!

We visited Salumi in Feb 2024 for a pre-show meal. Booking was nice and easy via their website and received confirmation and reminders before the day. Upon arrival we received a friendly greeting and were seated at a cosy table for two downstairs. Drinks orders were quickly taken and food menu handed over for browsing. Drinks arrived quickly - £8.50 for a medium glass of wine which was at the perfect temperature and of great quality. Due to dietary requirements we asked if dishes could be modified which was absolutely no problem at all. Our server was very accommodating when it came to questions about the menu. Food arrived within 20 minutes and was well presented and delicious. The chicken curry was perfect spiced with plenty of layers of flavour and the home made naan bread soft and fluffy. We also opted for dessert which came out quickly and whilst didn’t look to be much on the plate was absolutely amazing and filling (chocolate orange and honeycomb cheesecake) Bill for two came to £73, which for 2 courses and wine was very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. We will certainly return here for another meal in the future.

After being a huge fan of salumi for many many years, I was let down by the food and staff on this visit, I ordered the chicken burger to which I cut in half and started to eat only to find it was still pink I raised my concern to the staff who then told my it was probed and temperature was fine it was just the cut of meat!! I then refused the rest as I thought it was rude I wasn’t even offered a replacement or it being taken off the bill. This was a firm favourite NOT ANY MORE!!!!!

Wow. I visited alone on a work trip, and was nervous about dining alone. The servers put me at ease immediately, and Jamie my waiter was so lovely and able to recommend some brilliant dishes. The food was absolutely delicious. 10/10, everything I ate was so well thought out. The lasagna was decadent, the Mackrell pate so fresh and light. My desert was so very delicious too. If I lived closer, I would be back time and time again. Thank you for such a fabulous meal, and for all being so kind and welcoming!

My husband & I had a roast. absolutely delicious, everything was so tasty, we throughly enjoyed it. Staff very pleasant, nothing to much trouble.. Definitely recommend a visit, we will definitely be going back. 10/10. First class food.

What is the point of booking a table to be given a time slot!!! 2 hours for a table of 6, then 20 minutes to take order, after 1 hour you clear plates, 10 minutes to bring mains, then clear mains with 15 minutes left...

Stunning food as usual - staff friendly and very attentive! Venue has a lovely atmosphere & would definitely recommend. It isn’t cheap and the potion sizes vary from dish to dish, so maybe check before ordering but overall 10/10

Was disappointed as the reviews looked good. We had the Kashmiri paneer and the crispy tofu and both were really over salted. The Kashmiri paneer dish came with a really greasy mini naan and a popadom also incredibly greasy with potato inside and a bowl of rice. Four different carbs! The dish itself was four tasteless chunks of squishy paneer in a salty sauce that seemed to be mainly made of tomato purée - not the mild creamy healthy option I was hoping for. Food disappointment. The base of the noodle sauce tasted suspiciously similar too! And for this and two drinks the bill was almost £60!! I am afraid I don’t recommend but if you do go choose the meat maybe.

Nice venue with very nice staff but food was very overpriced for what it was. For a £19 fish and chips I expect more than something than I could buy from my local supermarket. Not impressed.

Pre-booked early Sunday lunch. We both had turkey roast. Meat was moist, served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, gravy, stuffing and four veg. All-in-all, an excellent meal. Would certainly return.

Really lovely little restaurant. We went there for a Sunday roast which was really delicious. Between us we had the vegetarian, pork, chicken and vegan roasts which were all very good. They bring her vegetables out on the side which I included roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, mashed up swede and shredded cabbage. Gravy was delicious and they brought more when we asked. The roasts cost about £18.50-20. The restaurant was about half full when we went so I would say it's easy to get a table in advance or walk in for lunch service. I've been here on other days too and the food is also good on non roast days

By far the best restaurant in Plymouth! 5th time visiting and never disappoints. Recommend the pork rib starter and Brisket!

Salumi is and always will be our favourite place to Dine ... recently visited once again for my wifes birthday treat ...and the reason we go back is The staff they really do make the place buzz ...and the food is off the scale and fairly priced for the current financial climate,but if I'm honest I'm happy to pay for the service and whole Dinning experience, Well done guys keep doing what you're doing 👍

We all know having a roast out is always difficult when the best roasties are home made and the gravy from a restaurant is never up to scratch.........however, this roast dinner was by far the best 'non home' roast dinner we have had. Husbands pork and beef (you can add any other meat for an extra £4.50) were suitably crispy crackling and succulent beef. The roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, the cauliflower cheese was unctuous and the glossy gravy was glorious.
