no atmosphere, stuck in the ‘conservatory’ area, cold, and extremely disappointing. heard really good things so will try again in a few weeks as hope it was a one off.

Another lovely meal we had and very good service. Thank you so much for accomodating my request of having a birthday treat for my hubby. Highly recommend this place.

Booked for an early evening dinner before visiting the Theatre. Fabulous from the moment we arrived. Smiling, knowledgeable staff. We decided to eat from the set menu, so only a couple of choices per course. We both chose the cauliflower soup to begin and it was absolutely gorgeous. So tasty, rich and creamy. Both main dishes were equally well presented and full of flavour. I can certainly recommend this restaurant and suggest you book as it is very popular.

We had the Taster menu. The food was very flavoursome. Interesting and different tasting sensations. The waiter rapidly reeled off long list of ingredients. The enjoyable evening was spoilt as we were advised twice we had to leave by 9:15. We booked a taxi. But by 9:00 we were still waiting for three courses. Told we could ignore departure time despite it being on website. Had to leave as taxi waiting! Unacceptable and unnecessary, when so much was great.

Fabulous food with, I dare to say, only one or two rival places to dine in Plymouth. there are two dining areas and every time I have eaten here I have a table in, as it were, the heart of the restaurant, which is my preference. I suspect that the chef sources as far as possible only local produce. On various visits I have enjoyed both the taster menu and the a la carte menu both are superb. On two visits now (May 24 and August 23) the service was a little slow and ponderous, which (only slightly) took the edge off the experience. If you are in or going to be in Plymouth or environs, do book and good

The best food we have eaten in ages. Fletchers restaurant in Plymouth. Recommended in the Michelin guide - in our view deserves at least one star on taste/ texture alone. Their lunch/early evening 2/3 course special deals are amazingly good value. Comfortable West Country service. Feels like home ❤️

Perfect food, wine and service. Went for lunch on Saturday and was easily able to chose from the set menu price options. The celeriac soup was incredible - fletchers consistently deliver the best soup we have ever had with real depth of flavour and soft texture. The pork belly was beautiful, and as usual we order a side of their incredible triple cooked chips which are exceptional and should be ordered every time you visit, what ever meal you are having!! We were able to have just enough space to share a desert which was sooo light it was the perfect end. Thank you fletchers team - always spot on - you remain our FAVOURITE restaurant in plymouth 😋

My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday and we were both blown away by the whole experience. We felt looked after from start to finish. The front of house staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had Burrata and my husband had the Scallops to start and we both had Rock Bass for main. I finished with the Rasberry Souffle and hubby had Cheeses with Port. My birthday was kindly acknowledged with a lovely little Chocolate brownie with piped message. I can honestly say I have never tasted a meal so good. The flavours were exquisite. It was more than just "going out for a meal", it was an amazing culinary experience. Thankyou so much 😁

It’s art on a plate Highly recommend the Korean glazed chicken which he had with the Parmesan olives and Jacks bakery bread as a starter Followed by the stuffed chicken thigh and slow cooked belly pork for my husband. The food here was outstanding, among the best we've had in the UK. My brill was amazing, as was my wife's market fish. Desserts were excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, especially so in helping us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Although the ambience was a little dated we will happily return.

This restaurant was recommended to us, as one of the best eateries in Plymouth, and we were not disappointed. It may not have the Michelin style decor you would expect, but the food was extremely good, as was the wine choices. I also liked the fact that the tables were proportionately sized rather than tiny tables as can often be the case.

This restaurant will get a Michelin Star, of that, I'm sure. Let's begin. My wife and I travelled to this restaurant from Newbury, even though we hail from Plymouth, it was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to be original. On arrival, very polite staff who showed us to our table, we were shown menus straight away and asked if we would like a drink. Drinks arrived, duly drunk and ready to order. When the food arrived, oh my days, breath-taking, the attention to detail on the Pigeon Wellington and the flavour, wow. My wife had mackerel, she states it was beautiful, although she would have liked it cooked a smidge longer. Mains, fillet steak with an amazing "gravy" I could eat that again and again. The wife had fish again, Brill, and in her words " I'd have that again, so tasty and full of flavour" Now for the best bit, the dessert. Please order the souffle, it will knock your socks off, but there is a wait, but the wait is worthwhile, trust me. A glass of Malbec was served at the perfect temperature. Nothing at all to fault with the food. Note from us though, paper napkins and no table cloth let it down a bit, but not enough to warrant less than 5 stars. Thank you to all the staff for making our anniversary meal memorable.

The food was amazing, the staff were very polite and discreet but almost to the point of looking unhappy the restaurant lacked atmosphere, but our seating location may have added to our negative experience. The table and view were disappointing. It was our first visit and we were sat at the entrance of the building which is an add on, almost like sitting in a conservatory at home. The view was of dirty old buildings. May have felt more luxurious if we had been seated in the main restaurant. The ladies toilets need consideration. The toilet seat was a cheap nasty plastic one and was broken. Hand towels which are cloth were supposed to be white but were grey and looked dirty. Toilet floor especially around the doors looked like they need a steam clean and a scrub. A few minor adjustments and this would be a restaurant as a local I would return to, but in the basis I was seated inside the original building.

Good - the restaurant is very nice, really tasty food, and good, quick service. I recommend the duck breast ( main ) and scallops ( starter ). Not as good - one of the wine glasses had a little bit of liquid leftover or hadn't dried properly and the correct number of knives was not correct.

What a gem of a place in the heart of Plymouth. Service was exemplary,food was outstanding good we regret not doing the 3 courses. Accommodating even with a little one, staff were brilliant too. Definitely one everyone should go even once.

We had a 3 course meal. Each course was made to perfection. To start we had the pigeon wellington and mackerel. Absolutely stunning, we both had the Westcountry lamb. Again beautifully made and finished off with the lemon tartlet and white chocolate tart. The prices were very fair and reasonable, the service was outstanding, times between courses were fantastic.the actual restaurant was open yet cosy and well decorated. The chefs must work incredibly hard to create such wonderful food, the sauces and combinations are second to none. Our waitress Jess was lovely and friendly and very helpful in helping us navigating the menu. Would highly recommend.

Me and my wife went on Saturday lunchtime for my belated birthday celebration. We were certainly not disappointed. the food was absolutely incredible the wine list was great and very reasonable price . The staff were very welcoming and efficient and also great knowledge of the food . Definitely one of the best meals we had for a good while.

Four of us had lunch at Fletcher's on 11th May. The food was outstanding and the service excellent. We were only one table out of three - why aren't more people dining here? They serve truly delicious food!

Loved Fletchers, pre theater dinner was delicious and not too expensive. Friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable staff and the food was all well cooked and presented beautifully. As Arnie said "I'll be back".

Fine dining at a relatively reasonable price. Imaginative menue. Good quality food. Set lunch was good value for the quality and service. Staff provided informed and knowledgeable service. Very quiet at lunchtime. Parking nearby.

Fantastic friendly service, when we rang to advise we had a puncture on the motorway and would be late for our pre theatre booking. Rather than cancel and go hungry the menu was text to us to choose and we were asked to advise eta and then confirm when 5 minutes away. The staff greeted us warmly served a drink and our delicious food arrived promptly allowing us to enjoy our meal and just make the Theatre in time. A huge THANK YOU for turning the evening around for us . Such a pleasant change in todays world to be readily offered a solution with no hassle and fuss .(if only sourcing a new tyre was as easy !) Wanted to send a big thank you to Adam and the team at Fletchers for a lovely meal on 30th March. We went to the restaurant for lunch as part of our wedding celebrations and had a lovely time. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. They went above and beyond to create a special occasion for us. Thank you! We would not hesitate to recommend and dine at the restaurant again!

The decor is a bit questionable. The service was willing if not particularly polished. The food however was truly exceptional. One of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory. The wine was also good and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back if in the area again

Staff were fantastic and friendly and knew the menu. Food was delicious and superbly presented. Steak was sublime! Good choice of wine and even had one of my favourite malt whiskies!

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Fletcher’s. The food was all incredible, and you could tell that huge attention to detail has been paid to everything on the menu, from the bread and butter all the way to the petit fours! The wine list was comprehensive and interesting (we loved the English sparkling and the Côtes-du-Rhône) and the staff were all absolutely wonderful. We’ll definitely be back!

Arrived at this restaurant had a most lovely greeting was shown to our table, took our drinks all and the drinks arrived promptly. The waitress was very friendly and also had a good sense of humour, but we also noticed all the waitresses and waiters were really friendly and had a great sense of humour And me was the ruby steak which was absolutely perfect and we had fantastic deserts which was one of the best we ever experienced all the staff was so perfect, and we realise how they got on together, which was nice to see most certainly go back to this restaurant as one of the best, if not the best in Plymouth

Warning!! If you are garlic or fish intolerant then this is not for you. After phoning the restaurant twice to confirm my allergies I was told it would be fine for me to dine there. On arrival we was met by very friendly staff and taken to our table. However, after ordering drinks I had the menu given to me to be told of everything I couldn’t have which left me with one option: the steak. Now the steak was lovely but again when asked if I could have the chips with this I was told no they are coated in garlic and had the option of mashed potato. Now I would like to point out that I have dined at many Michelin restaurants, even at Michael Cains and didn’t think for a chef of this standard that he couldn’t be more accommodating, especially in this day and age of people having many food allergies. This said my family enjoyed their meal as thankfully this was a birthday meal and had travelled over an hour to dine. Personally, I won’t be attending again and will go to other restaurants where the chef can go off grid for people like myself when it is not easy to dine out.

Booked Fletchers for the first time for our wedding anniversary. We sat in the covered part outside it were offered a table by the bar which we declined. The staff were really welcoming and knowledgeable. We ordered the chicken bites snack for my Husband and then duck Terrine for me which was the prettiest thing I’ve ever eaten and was amazing. We then had the trio of pork and the sea bass which was the nicest fish dish I’ve ever eaten and was simple yet fantastic. Dessert was amazing and we were also brought a plate with a little extra for our anniversary. This will now be our new favourite restaurant and we can’t wait to return

Tasty food in a lovely designed restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I had been recommended this place for a long while and am glad I got the chance to finally try it out for myself.

Restaurant was busy which is always a good sign! The staff were efficient and friendly & service was very good. Appropriate timings were left between courses & presentation was excellent. The Beef was quite underwhelming for £38 - I was asked how I would like it cooked & this was not reflected once served. Another member of our party also requested that their Beef was cooked in a way that suited their taste to which they didn’t get either. ( Don’t offer to do this - if it cannot be actioned ) didn’t make a fuss as we were entertaining guests. Left feeling a little underwhelmed this time - but the service and ambience did make up for the main course.

After the usual online search for places to eat, we found Fletchers and was impressed by the reviews and social media publicity. The food was on point and it matched everything we expected. Maybe food portions could be a little more. We chose from the 530 to 600pm meal deal for approx 25 each. The ambience and cleanliness was fine. Nothing to gripe about. Service was attentive but overheard other tables waitress having to apologise and ask for information again, so maybe just new or a confidence thing. Again not a disaster for anyone. The biggest and most concerning complaint from us was upon arrival we were made to wait outside in the rain and cold until they opened at 530pm. The issue was our table was booked for a strict 530 to 7pm window, so you would expect to be arriving a few mins early to have a drink in the bar and then be seated. What you should be doing is making your table times 10 or 15 mins later than your opening times to allow for this. There was another lady who arrived 15 mins early to meet friends who was elderly and cold. By allowing customers to arrive and relax into their evening would allow you to sell more drinks before they are seated and more importantly make the experience more enjoyable for the customer. Lots of positives but some tweaks needed.

Went for a celebration lunch yesterday. Friends had told us it was good and we were certainly not disappointed. A warm welcome and attentive, but not overbearing, service from start to finish. This is serious cooking with beautiful presentation, and the fixed price lunch is a steal! Will definitely return.

Absolutely exceptional dining experience. Went for a milestone birthday in the family, greeted with nothing but warmth and sat at our table in an intimate corner where all 8 of us had ample room and comfort. The food that we received was sublime from start to finish. Never had food so full of flavour and so delicious. Staff were knowledgeable and nothing was too much to ask. Really special evening as it was spent with my parents who live abroad and time with them is always valuable. A well spent evening which made my birthday. Left feeling satisfied and stuffed which is what you always want. Completley excellent from start to finish. The best food in the city.

pleasant location and nice food, very expensive when considering service and choice, waitress didnt know her own food leading to a mixup in the order meaning we had to wait with food cooling on the table whilst another meal was cooked unnecessarily as the meal had simply been served to the wrong person and then sent back we had to pre order due to group size(8) and had to chase the restaurant in order to get the menu and then chase them again to let them know our pre order then there was a not very subtle attempt to overcharge which when challenged was immediately dropped without reference to the orders or records which frankly just seemed all the more suspicious

Well, what a gem! Plymouth central. We had heard it was good, but were in for a treat. The pigeon was magnificent. Wrapped in filo and spinach with a beautiful sauce- highly recommend it. The main, venison, was even better - you should definitely try this one - cooked to perfection with sublime accompaniments. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to a return visit.

By far the best tasting food in Plymouth. Expect to pay more than your usual meal out but it is worth every penny and is even better than you'd expect. Every dish is perfectly balanced with a fantastic variety of flavours and textures, I have never eaten a single mouthful and not immediately moaned in joy. We come every year for our anniversary but if I ever won the lottery then I'd eat here every day. Wish me luck on my numbers!

Enjoyed the meal but was overcharged £87 on the bill. Good job we checked it before we paid ! We will not be returning because of this error !

We had heard a lot of good recommendations for this restaurant, so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. As we went for lunch, we had the option of a three course set menu for £30 (bargain) or the choice of the a la carte menu. I went for the a la carte and opted for the quail breast starter, and the saddle of venison for mains. I have to say the venison dish served with blue cheese, beetroot, blackberry jus and colcannon mash was out of this world, and possibly one of the best plates of food I have ever eaten. My partner selected form the set menu, and likewise was not disappointed. For dessert, we were both blown away by the sticky toffee pudding with caramelised banana and honeycomb ( you could taste the honey added to the honeycomb). I have to also add, that the wine menu was superb, and to be fair reasonably priced. The one slight niggle with the whole experience...the decor of the restaurant was somewhat dated and could do with a bit of a revamp. This however did not detract from our fantastic food, and based on the food alone I had to give Fletchers five stars. Will we go again...of course, I can't wait!

I never write review but this restaurant has exceptional service, food and staff. This place is a rare gem! Very affordable set menu for 3 courses for £30 between 17:30-18:00. My husband will now be going there at least once a month.
