Fletcher's Restaurant in Plymouth

Delicious food and fantastic service- the restaurant was perfect for our pre-theatre meal. Would highly recommend.

Wanted to send a big thank you to Adam and the team at Fletchers for a lovely meal on 30th March. We went to the restaurant for lunch as part of our wedding celebrations and had a lovely time. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. They went above and beyond to create a special occasion for us. Thank you! We would not hesitate to recommend and dine at the restaurant again!

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Fletcher’s. The food was all incredible, and you could tell that huge attention to detail has been paid to everything on the menu, from the bread and butter all the way to the petit fours! The wine list was comprehensive and interesting (we loved the English sparkling and the Côtes-du-Rhône) and the staff were all absolutely wonderful. We’ll definitely be back!

Incredible food, an absolute taste sensation - full of flavour, delicately balanced so that nothing was overpowering, small sizes but perfect to allow 3 courses without being unable to move- VERY strong cocktails, depends on preference- can't recommend Fletchers enough, wonderful place

After the usual online search for places to eat, we found Fletchers and was impressed by the reviews and social media publicity. The food was on point and it matched everything we expected. Maybe food portions could be a little more. We chose from the 530 to 600pm meal deal for approx 25 each. The ambience and cleanliness was fine. Nothing to gripe about. Service was attentive but overheard other tables waitress having to apologise and ask for information again, so maybe just new or a confidence thing. Again not a disaster for anyone. The biggest and most concerning complaint from us was upon arrival we were made to wait outside in the rain and cold until they opened at 530pm. The issue was our table was booked for a strict 530 to 7pm window, so you would expect to be arriving a few mins early to have a drink in the bar and then be seated. What you should be doing is making your table times 10 or 15 mins later than your opening times to allow for this. There was another lady who arrived 15 mins early to meet friends who was elderly and cold. By allowing customers to arrive and relax into their evening would allow you to sell more drinks before they are seated and more importantly make the experience more enjoyable for the customer. Lots of positives but some tweaks needed.

pleasant location and nice food, very expensive when considering service and choice, waitress didnt know her own food leading to a mixup in the order meaning we had to wait with food cooling on the table whilst another meal was cooked unnecessarily as the meal had simply been served to the wrong person and then sent back we had to pre order due to group size(8) and had to chase the restaurant in order to get the menu and then chase them again to let them know our pre order then there was a not very subtle attempt to overcharge which when challenged was immediately dropped without reference to the orders or records which frankly just seemed all the more suspicious

Been to Fletchers a few times now and never disappointed. The staff are lovely and the food is to die for - especially the duck liver parfait/terrine 😍

Had an amazing dinner here in October for a birthday. Have been fortunate enough to previously eat in 1 and 2 starred Michelin restaurants and can honestly say this is as good as any and better than some.

Had my birthday at Fletchers with friends and it was a great evening. Couldn’t fault the food or the service. Sorry no pictures as I forgot as I tucked in as it so looked fab. Thank you to the Team at Fletchers for a great birthday.

Absolutely go here! The food is incredible, well on par with many Michelin star restaurants I've been to and they surprised us with a birthday dessert. Service and food was sublime. My girlfriend and I went for our anniversary, and we were very pleased. They had gluten-free bread which was really good, and then we had the tasting menu. After the first course, we were slightly worried after the first course (Goats curd as it was gf menu), as it was just ok. Afterwards, everything was great, however. Would have given it a 5-star but the Moroccan spice lamb felt a bit out of place compared to the rest of the menu. It was still tasty in our opinion but just didn't go with the rest of the dishes on the tasting menu. Other than those 2 minor details, everything was perfect. The service was good, and it was a quiet evening. The pre-dessert was one of, if not the best dessert we have ever had and we might return just to have it again. I am glad we went and it was a lovely evening.

On the strength of recommendations on a local Facebook page, I booked a pre-theatre lunch at Fletchers as a birthday treat for my sister. I’m not very familiar with the Plymouth dining scene so was a little anxious beforehand about what kind of experience it would be. Well, I need not have worried as our meal exceeded all expectations and made my day out with my sister extra special. Our waiter, Adam, was friendly and welcoming and he took the time to explain to me (as a gluten free customer) which dishes wouldn’t be suitable and which could be adapted. There was still plenty of lovely choices to be had. We both opted for the chicken as our main. It’s actually quite rare nowadays to find a chicken dish of this calibre on a menu - it really was outstanding and a very generous portion. The glass of Spanish Vedejo I had to accompany it was also excellent. For dessert, we went for the ‘Apple trifle’ and what a sheer delight that was too - a sublime combination of textures and flavours. I am not at all surprised that Fletchers has a Michelin recommendation. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you to the team for making us feel so welcome - and for the lovely birthday greeting ‘plate’ given to my sister. We will most definitely return.

You can really tell how hard the team at Fletchers works! Welcoming front of house staff that really add to the experience of my birthday, with food that is so delicious you can’t help but want to lick the plates clean! I have never felt more full of food which is to die for! If I could physically eat more I would due to the variety of foods that you wouldn’t find anywhere else in the city. Took my family for the first time and each of them said they have never had anything nicer and the environment was perfect for a family meal to celebrate a special birthday. What a wonderful night again at Fletchers, this time it was to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. The food was amazing and never fails to surprise me with how good it tastes. The staff were so attentive, with Jess and Ads being on hand whenever we needed them. If you want to experience fine dining at its best for a special occasion, Fletchers is the place to go. Once you have been there you will not regret it. Thanks guys for making Danni’s night so special.

no atmosphere, half of menu not available, stuck in the ‘conservatory’ area, cold, and extremely disappointing

Very disappointing evening spent at Fletchers restaurant. Greeted in the loosest possible sense of the word by the front of house manager. Felt like he was annoyed we had come in yet we had booked for a special occasion well in advance. We were sat on a table in the conservatory even though there was an empty table in the restaurant. When I Asked if we could perhaps have a different table I was told he had set us on our table and the other hadn’t been laid and had 5 chairs (we were only 3 in number on a Wednesday ) We should have declined and left then but ever the optimist I was ever hopeful that this was a blip and we were expecting good things Our drinks order was taken and after a long wait the drinks appeared. Perhaps they are busy i thought. The menu was limited with 4 starters, 4 mains and 3 sweets but sounded good albeit I thought I was about to experience a masterchef meal. The menu was further limited by not having one of each course, perhaps they had had a busy day? In fairness the food when it arrived was good but left you wanting more. Not somewhere to eat if you are hungry and as such did come across as a bit pretentious. I have been very fortunate in my time to have experienced some great restaurants. This was not one of those occasions. We paid and left after almost 2 hours. Uncaring front of house . No ambience in the conservatory but did get a good view of the chap bedding down in the entrance lobby and the drunk who after being greeted by the front of house gentleman as a long lost friend left leaving the door open! All in all not a good experience.

By far the best tasting food in Plymouth. Expect to pay more than your usual meal out but it is worth every penny and is even better than you'd expect. Every dish is perfectly balanced with a fantastic variety of flavours and textures, I have never eaten a single mouthful and not immediately moaned in joy. We come every year for our anniversary but if I ever won the lottery then I'd eat here every day. Wish me luck on my numbers!

Enjoyed the meal but was overcharged £87 on the bill. Good job we checked it before we paid ! We will not be returning because of this error !

Had the 3 course set menu which was superb. Wonderful value for money- every course was subtle and delicious. Excellent, efficient and personable service. Can 100% recommend, perfect for pre-theatre.

We had heard a lot of good recommendations for this restaurant, so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. As we went for lunch, we had the option of a three course set menu for £30 (bargain) or the choice of the a la carte menu. I went for the a la carte and opted for the quail breast starter, and the saddle of venison for mains. I have to say the venison dish served with blue cheese, beetroot, blackberry jus and colcannon mash was out of this world, and possibly one of the best plates of food I have ever eaten. My partner selected form the set menu, and likewise was not disappointed. For dessert, we were both blown away by the sticky toffee pudding with caramelised banana and honeycomb ( you could taste the honey added to the honeycomb). I have to also add, that the wine menu was superb, and to be fair reasonably priced. The one slight niggle with the whole experience...the decor of the restaurant was somewhat dated and could do with a bit of a revamp. This however did not detract from our fantastic food, and based on the food alone I had to give Fletchers five stars. Will we go again...of course, I can't wait!

This is by far the best restaurant in Plymouth. The food was absolutely sublime. Creative with a very sophisticated flair. The service, excellent with friendly staff. The wine list extensive with great choices. I would recommend this venue all day long.

Such an incredible experience. I'm a pretty fussy eater and I had no issue with any of the food seen in the photos! The food was just amazing. Beautifully made and the taste was unforgettable. The bill come to around the £110 mark BUT that was with 2 soft drinks, 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 "Snacks" (Instead of starters), 2 mains and 2 deserts. The 2 Tart looking deserts in the final photo was a small thank you whilst we was paying the bill. The reason for slightly lower score for the Service & Atmosphere is that one of the waitresses was quiet off in the sense they come and took plates, without asking how the food was, no speaking, smiling or even eye contact. It just felt a little off. The atmosphere was a bit rowdy as there was a large party but that's pot luck on which day you go. All in it was a fantastic way of celebrating our anniversary and would 100% recommend.

My husband and I had dinner to celebrate his birthday last night and it was amazing. The food was hands down the best plate of food I’ve ever eaten. The cocktail was incredible too, but what stood out to us was the service. Sam looked after us for the evening, and he was great! He explained everything to us, even went out of his way to find out how something was made. He was attentive but relaxed which made for such a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely come back again.

Came on here planning to just write “WOW” then noticed it’s what most other people have said! Staff have the wonderful mix of professionalism and easy humour that I’ve only seen in the highest rated restaurants (hello, Fat Duck!) and the food just speaks for itself, every tiny detail adding to the awesomeness of each dish. Gluten free accommodated seamlessly. An m-star on its way soon, surely?? Update: having eaten here a few times now, I'm consistently blown away by the deserts. The number of elements / complexity matches that of the mains, they're fresh, stunning and a delightful finish to each meal. Love it.

30 May 2023 Tue Whilst we were deciding on which restaurants to go in Plymouth, Fletcher's came up often and since it is Michelin recommended, we decided to give it a try! It was a very very pleasant dinner overall with great food (doneness of the meats were perfect) and really amazing service, but personally the sauces were a bit too much for my liking - sauce itself was very nice, but it kind of covered the taste of the ingredients instead of complimenting and bringing out more flavour. I see a lot of potential though as some combination were very unique and delicious... whipped duck liver parfait with smoked eel was absolutely stunning! Love to go back again if I ever go back to Plymouth to see how they will flourish in the future.
