Come in occasionally. Pleasant little cafe. Good selection of snacks and meal, hot and cold drinks including wines and usual booze. Hidden away a bit up a little street that was once one of Plymouth’s oldest but is now bordered by modernish medium height office and residential blocks. Used mostly it seems by students and locals. We dropped in on one of hot days at end of May ‘21. They have some tables outside in a sheltered corner offering a view down North St and across Notte St into Sutton Harbour marina and the Cattewater in the distance. This place is friendly, good value, o thing flash and away from the hassle even if there are a few car parked nearby.

I’m a little reluctant to leave feedback due to the extremely negative responses received by other visitors, but I must be honest..Visited here as working locally and wanted a nice jacket potato. I phoned and pre ordered as I was aware they need time to prepare.Ordered a jacket potato with chilli and cheese. Ordinarily take away jackets are £4 at most.. I was very surprised at the £6.50 bill for a take away jacket. Every cafe I have ever visited that offers take away, you pay less due to not using the facilities of the cafe, so I was surprised this cafe didn’t. Broken down it was £2.50 for the potato, £3 extra for chilli and £1 for the cheese. The chilli was in a desperate container as there was so much. All that is needed is a spoonful. No salad was offered or on the side, which again I found unusual. The potato was small, poorly presented and not overly appealing (see photo) or tasty.Sorry to say I wouldn’t return- very disappointed with price, taste and quality.

I just left here and had to put up a review straight away. The food was delicious, the soup was hot and seasoned perfectly, the bread fresh and full of flavour, the carrot cake moist and bursting with spice. The lady who served us was attentive and very accommodating, telling us she was happy to keep the cafe open as long as we were content and enjoying it, even though we were there quite late and close to closing time. This is an unassuming pleasant little cafe south facing down a cud de sac across a junction and out towards the harbour. I went to collect my son and had to turn in the area in front of the cafe, only to reverse at low speed and hit a low concrete moveable obstacle that was entirely invisible to all my mirrors, causing considerable bodywork damage. I recommend the cafe but they need to have effective warning signs and markers in the parking/turning area.

I have been to Cafe Kiss three or four times before & have always found it pleasant enough, & so today, me & my kids decided to drop by for lunch. The staff were clearly preoccupied with something (there were three tables placed together, as if a large lunch party was expected) No one greeted us & so I asked a member of staff where we should sit..she looked at me blankly & walked away. Another staff member showed us to a table which had no chairs & as none were found for us, I took some from another table! Basically, we were then just ignored...I had to ask for some menu's & as after 10 minutes no one had come to take our order, I went to the counter to order myself. No one took any notice of me as all three staff were (pre) occupied in the kitchen area (it looked like they were busy making sandwiches "to go") We then decided to go elsewhere & ironically, the staff didn't even seem to notice us leaving! It's such a shame, as I've always found Kiss to be good value & welcoming. But with so many other similar eateries in Plymouth, I just wont bother with Cafe Kiss again.

I love this place. We've been going at least once a month since soon after it opened and it has always been great. The food is great, and Mary and the other staff are lovely. The menu isn't extensive, but it always has several veggie things available, and on the rare occasions that i wean myself off the greek beans for a night i'm always pleased with the other things too.One lager and one cider on tap. Ale in bottles is normally available cooled or warm and some tasty wines too.On those occasions where we don't booze (lunch time - occasionally) the green tea milk shake is lovely. There are mix ups, there are delays (normally because i book for 6 and arrive with 12) but for me that just adds to the charm.Whatever you have, have chips with it! They're good chips! And save room for pudding! The Tiffin and Gluten free choclate cake are both amazing, then there's that lemon thing...It's a cafe. It's not a restaurant, but it is a lovely cafe!

Eagerly anticipated trying this place based on the amount of positive reviews. Popped in this morning for coffee and pastries. The decor is nice and quirky with sofas and books and a piano in the corner and I like the fact that it is quite hidden. I was surprised to find the cafe empty at 10.30 though and there wasn't much on display in terms of cakes apart from a couple of meringues and no food menu on the table so I just chose a latte. The service was friendly and the coffee was ok. I think it would be better to visit later in the day, maybe for a lunch. Worth a second visit

I was looking for a place to work on my laptop that would be open late on a Saturday afternoon and decided to check out Cafe Kiss for the first time. What a fantastic surprise. The lady who was working that afternoon was gracious and welcoming. There was WiFi (yay!) and electric sockets (double yay!). There was a piano, to boot, and when I opened the piano book (which had just come in that day apparently) to a random page, it fell on one my favourite piano pieces, which she obligingly let me play. I met some friends for lunch in kiss with my twin boys having gone there regularly before my maternity leave. Food and service has always been good, but on this occasion when one of my babies were crying the manager came over and was extremely rude, even more so when she realised there were two babies. Obviously not a child friendly place and considering there was only one other table occupied was there any need to come over and embarrass me? Asking if my child was ill and why it was crying. I was convinced I was going to be asked to leave even though my son had cried for only a minute or so. I was made to feel very uncomfortable so I won't be returning either with my children or without. Re assess your customer service skills kiss

I went with three friends to cafe kiss for some lunch and a drink on Monday 27th. It was really pleasant! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely lady behind the bar, and a few smiling faces from the kitchen! Once seated we were immediately brought menu's! Quite a variety for such a small cafe/restaurant!All four of us on the table had burgers, which came with chips, a few lettuce leaves with tomato. I had the burger with boursin garlic and herb cheese with chorizo burger, and for £6.95 was more than sufficient! Infact three of us did and all enjoyed it thoroughly! Once we had ordered we got ourselves some cutlery that was positioned in the corner with a variety of sauces, some needed refilling but all were accessible and easy to find. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, but didn't expect any less as it was all being cooked from fresh! (the lady even helpfully asked if we were all having burgers so she could tell the kitchen to get them cooking before we all paid!) We would have stayed for coffee after but we were just too full!I did have just one point and that was the lemonade I ordered was put in a warm glass, one I assume that had just been washed. Which meant that the lemonade went flat had no fizz to it, which made it more like drinking lemon water! I actually quite like lemon water so there was no complaint there, but just something to think about for other customers!

Unusually it seemed to have tables reserved at lunch time, which I took to be a good sign. The food was good quality but simple, the soup in particular was well made and tasty. We forgot to tell them not to do the drinks (tea/coffee) until we had got the food, so we had that common experience of having drunk the coffee and let the tea had go cold and then the food arrives... darn. The staff in this cafe bar were really accommodating and friendly and the food was delicious. A bright airy modern decor too. The food was excellent. The only downfall, and it was not pleasant, is that the entrance door was broken and would not close automatically so every time someone entered or left it remained open! In terms of quality of food, this is one of the best and most consistent places we've found in Plymouth and there is truly some amazing food to be found here! You cannot beat the options available and there is something to be found for everyone. Whether it's coming in for a coffee at the end of a working day or having a bite to eat, you know you are going to leave feeling happy and glad you visited. It is clear that the owners genuinely care about their customers and the attention to detail they offer in terms of service and food quality cannot be beaten. The music and quirky pictures add to an atmosphere which is already warm and inviting. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

I was really looking forward to taking a friend to Cafe Kiss, expecting it to live up to its good reviews. I was disappointed to find that the standard of food was shockingly poor and the service was abysmal. After ordering the lentil burger, my friend and I had to wait 35mins for our food to turn up. The cafe had about three other customers it, who all left while we were waiting, so there was obviously no one before us in the queue for food. When our meals were served, the lad put our plates down without giving us cutlery or letting us know where to find it. He didn't even offer a pleasantry like "enjoy your meals", which I would normally expect as standard. He walked off and we had to fetch our cutlery ourselves after it was apparent that he wasn't coming back. The plate of food consisted of a side of chips, a piece of lettuce, two slices of tomato, a small white bap that looked like it was from a supermarket value pack, and a lentil "burger" that looked like an orange blob if goo slapped onto one side of the bap. for £6.95 I felt ripped off. I didn't touch the food, but instead demanded a refund for both meals. We then had a lovely homemade burger with excellent service for the same price at the seafood and pasta bar instead. Manners cost nothing but make a big difference!

Just had a lovely coffee and orange polenta cake at Cafe Kiss. Great cafe, if a little hidden away behind Sutton Harbour. Fantastic value, and no compromise on quality. Well worth a visit.

Visited Cafe Kiss for a quick lunch while on holiday in Plymouth visiting our daughter who is at University in The City. I agree with many of the other comments on here, this is a suberb up market cafe with a a nice atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel immediately welcome. There is a large range of good quality coffee's and tea's on offer, 'The Cafe' is licenced and carries a large range of good quality wines and spirits. There were some large comfy sofa's giving a relaxed and informal feeling to the establishment, these were all taken when we arrived; or for those prefering to do the table thing there were several tables all of which were full once we were seated. The menu was well laid out and carries a hugh variety of snacks and meals. We didn't wait long for the order to be brought to our table, again with a smile and courtesy. Food looked appetising and tempting and beautifully presented. This place reminds me of The West End and certainly is better than many other establishments in Plymouth. This place is a real gem.

Mary and her team welcome you for breakfast, coffee, brunch/lunch, afternoon tea and supper. A great sun trap outside in the summer and cosy inside in the colder months! Whatever the weather, you will always receive a warm welcome by Mary, Daniel and the team. Good dinks, food and great atmosphere to chill out! We always visit when home in Plymouth

On the line of one of Plymouth's oldest streets, under a bland tall block of flats and just up behind two of the city"s gay pubs, this is a smart but relaxed and welcome surprise. Family owned with a sweet, up market, super efficient, older and inspirational lady at the counter, this modern cafe is a perfect place for lunch, afternoon snacking/tea or a good supper. Or as we have also done, just have a bottle or two of well selected wines and a bite before setting off for a night on the town. Sun trap outside at the front for warm or dry days.

We've been going here since it opened, and we've loved it every time. Unfortunately they stopped doing their breakfasts, but the rest of the food is absolutely outstanding, so the breakfast is not missed at all.The decor is modern and luxurious, with a cafe vibe but a restaurant finish. The food is very reasonably priced and always delicious. Sometimes I wish I could order two things because I want them all, but I usually only order one thing because I know I shouldn't be greedy. They do some great coffee and beverages too. The whole team is super friendly an I feel comfortable bringing my girfriend, friends, family and business acquaintances here.Jolly good show, Cafe Kiss!

Think trendy cafe/bar and I think bad service, soul-less, overpriced food and a general feeling that the place is somehow doing you a favour by just letting you eat there. Now imagine the complete opposite and you have Cafe Kiss. The menu is great, good range from light bites to full meals, cooked to order (instead of re-heated to order). The staff are so down to earth and friendly, it's always a pleasure to visit. The atmosphere is more continental than Plymouth is used to, with a stylish interior, great on street tables, and new bar stools if you fancy a beer at the bar. I am convinced you will keep coming back.

Been here several times as a couple and with friends and food and service is always excellent! Relatively small menu but this ensures that everything is always freshly cooked with an emphasis on quality. The 'full english' breakfast is fantastic, cooked to perfection and not in the least bit 'greasy', nice little touches such as thyme with mushrooms ensure this is the best cooked breakfast in Plymouth. Great cakes and coffee too!

Has an excellent bean casserolle with chorizo, very hot and came with granary bread. Went down a treat, followed up with a massive meringue. Not that cheap but nice ambience and good quality staff.

Hassle free smart place for a meal or a bottle. Pity we didn't have a camera on our last visit because this cafe needs to be seen inside and out. Good selection of food and drink. Bottles of mellow red. Excellent sun trap out front.

I've found a little gem of a cafe in Plymouth, just because it has cafe in the name don't think greasy spoon, think Mediterranean eatery. If you eat outside your in the sun all day, it's a real suntrap. The food is excellent and if you like a glass of wine or any other alcoholic drink with your snack or meal there is a good selection. (the coffee is pretty good as well). The staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much for them, a first class service.I was so impressed, I will be taken guests for dinner next week, standby for that review.

Recommended by friends. Been about four times. Peaceful well presented place with comfy set up and good food. Hidden away but close to everything. Older kids liked playing the outsized Connect game while we finished our bottle.

Although rather out of the way, this smart, comfortable cafe is well worth a visit. Calling in for a light lunch, I had a wonderfully authentic Greek salad - just one of a few tempting choices. Polite and friendly staff; overall a great little place with outside seating weather permitting.

We came to Cafe Kiss for my sister's 21st birthday on December 6th, as the reataurant doesn't usually open on Tuesday nights they happily opened especially for us. Mary was so accomodating and all the food came out at the same time and not only was it delicious, but its also good value for money. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good value meal out.

I recently visited Cafe Kiss for my birthday evening meal in November with my family. Although I,d been there quite a few times during the day for light bites , coffee and delicious cakes, it was my first evening experience. It did not disappoint ! The service was excellent with Daniel and his Mum Mary being very attentive on all counts . The food was delicious from our shared Greek style starters through to steak , curries , homemade steak pies and great salmon fish cakes, followed by fantastic desserts which melted in your mouth, ie lemon cheese cake or chocolate tart to die for ! I was spoilt by a complimentary large glass of wine and choc slice of the said above. So yummy ! Atmosphere is lovely here in Cafe Kiss with tall windows on two sides letting in loads of light by day but still retaining an intimate air during the evening, especially with the place being pretty small .There is a great dining area outside too in good weather. I,ve really told you all I love about Cafe Kiss and there really is nothing to dislike . I do believe the location is not helpful to its excellent reputation as its a bit tucked away in a side street but once you find it you will not be disappointed and will return I promise you. Thank you Mary and Daniel for such a lovely evening

A wonderful addition to the Plymouth scene which is a bit short of top rate cafes. The coffee is now the most reliable and best in Plymouth. The snacks are fantastic: try the orange drizzle polenta cake. The location is slightly off the beaten track but convenient for city centre and Sutton Harbour. The interior and exterior set up is high quality modern: again really refreshing in Plymouth. Hugely welcoming with great service. Hits the spot at all times of the day.

Interesting that there’s been a lot of interest since The Vault closed and the lease was up for grabs. A lively CBD cafe business called ‘Buddha Hut’, which started a year or so ago in Union Street then moved to lower Cornwall Street has now announced they are expanding again and have acquired the Mutley lease and will open at the beginning of November with a cafe selling lots of CBD coffee and food etc on the ground floor with the large basement given over to other CBD products.

Three of us came in for informal supper. Booked but not necessary, maybe half full. Deal of £25 for two portions of fish and ships, geared towards couples but we have to pay about £17 for a third. The girls serving seemed to be getting edgy towards the end maybe because there seemed to be a group of their friends towards end of evening.

Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.

The Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.

Instalaciones limitadas pero justo en el corazón de todas esas bicicletas encantadoras. Siéntate adentro o afuera bajo techo. . Gran café también.
