We have been to knead on many occasions and it always leaves us very satisfied. The pizzas are cooked fresh, always lovely flavours. The wait to order can be a little long at times when they are busy, but given how popular the restaurant is this is understandable. Avoid sitting at the high table as the seating is very uncomfortable and begins to hurt your legs after a short while.

The quality of the food was fine but the rules governing their service (ie they don’t do anything they don’t have to even for a child) was awful. Our experience was spoilt by their ‘take it or leave it’ attitude to service. They offer kids size pizzas but only in a few menu options. I ordered BBQ Dreams and asked for a kids size for my son, aged 7. They said they couldn’t do it and so we ordered an adult size and he left what he couldn’t eat. When my son’s pizza arrived, we politely asked for it to be cut up (no pizza cutter offered to us). The waitress agreed, took it to the kitchen, then brought it back uncut and said ‘the kitchen have said we don’t cut in house pizzas’. They would have cut it up if it had been a takeaway. We asked again and were told that if they did it for us, then others might ask for theirs to be cut. How ridiculous! We enjoyed the pizza and the historic environment but the service is awful and very child unfriendly. We won’t be back here again. Would definitely suggest avoiding if you are eating out with children.

We came here before watching a theatre show, it was very nice. Lovely old building lots of character, rustic. The rosemary potatoes were yummy. There is an outside courtyard where they cook the pizzas but sat inside.

Beautiful building, brilliant pizza....best pizza I've had in a long time. Coupled with a pint of Paulaner and a side of courgette fries...top notch food and service. I'll be back.

The best pizza since Naples itself! We never thought we would find a true Neapolitan pizza anywhere else and we have. It was perfect!

Dirty plates, no dips or olive oil offered, very poor service. In those circumstances 12% service charge added automatically to the bill looks like some kind of terrible, not funny JOKE.

We used to get pizza from Knead regularly when they had their spot in the market but sadly the experience wasn’t as good when we visited their new spot last week. I agree with the previous reviewers that the staff desperately need to be trained properly and that the focus felt like it was on speed and volume of covers but definitely not accuracy as they got my order wrong. The pizza also was quite underwhelming and sadly not up to their previous standard. We were in and out in 45 minutes and quite relieved to leave! The venue is lovely but they’ve really squeezed everyone in…not great if you eat as a couple as you feel like you’ve been wedged around large noisy groups. Maybe only add the service charge if your staff learn to give good service!

Stopped in here for dinner and had the pepperoni and the fish pizza. Waiter was very attentive and service was really quick! Pizza was very tasty albeit a little soggy in the middle. Would eat here again.

I had heard good things about this place but I was very disappointed. We sat in the courtyard, but we were next to a speaker that blared out loud music, making it difficult to talk. I ordered a pizza which claimed to have courgettes as one of the toppings, these turned out to be a few tiny gratings of the vegetable. The rocket salad was tiny and most of the rocket was past its best. My companion ordered a pizza with Parma ham, again the toppings were meagre a few tiny pieces of ham. I have eaten many pizzas in Italy and especially in Naples, Knead claims to be authentic, but I found the pizza base too soft and the toppings disappointing, a far cry from the abundance of an Italian pizza. I won’t be returning.

Really good pizzas here in a wonderful setting. You can order from the table using a QR code and sitting in the Courtyard you can watch the pizza over in action.

Setting is beautiful, especially in the courtyard. Service was quick and friendly. Food came just as quickly. We shared pizzas and side dishes, which were all delicious. We will be back.

Good pizza. Good value. Building lovely. Eaten here before. Service on this visit not great. When I asked for the service charge to be removed I got a very negative response. Shame. Gave the tip I would have to a homeless person. Won’t go again. Sorry.

Awesome place. Genuinely captures the atmosphere of an Italian restaurant in Italy. But with a bit of an upbeat twist when it comes to the music. Surprising for plymouth. A must visit if you like pizza. Nice service too

Beautiful location- would recommend either the well room or the courtyard in warm weather. Food was really nice and thoroughly impressed by the pizza. Waitresses were lovely. Spent a bit more than we normally would expect in a pizza place but no regrets.

We were a party of five and had booked a table the week before, however, although not particularly busy we were squeezed onto a table for four. We were asked to order drinks but hardly any of what we asked for was available; they had one choice of wine, when asked what it was, it was sweet or not sweet and they refused to serve a tonic water on its own, it was "company policy" to only serve tonic with gin!!! The pizzas were a real let down. I fully understand what a Neopolitan pizza should be like and this wasn't it, virtually raw in the middle. Their website also shows very different prices to what we were charged (and still does a few weeks down the line). My other real gripe is the service charge of 12%; yes there's the option to say not to include it but this is not a something most people would do when the server (who was the only saving grace) is stood in front of you. Our experience was very poor; poor food, misleading pricing and virtually zero chance of getting a decent drink.

This was the third time we have eaten at this magical venue. It is a in a very old (15th century) historic building in the centre of Plymouth. This time we ate indoors but on our previous visits we ate in the courtyard which has a real “Romeo & Juliet” vibe about it. There are three (I think) indoor rooms and we were in the one that contains an old well. Each time we have varied our choices and we have never been disappointed. The pizzas are a generous size and with just the right amount of toppings. All the ingredients are fresh and natural and the staff are very knowledgable about the origins of them and the process that the kitchen employ to get the food on the plate.There is a good drinks menu, both alcoholic and not, plus the usual hot drinks. Although we did not go for a pudding course this time (Northern roots showing there!), the ones we have had in the past were wonderful. Always an important point for my wife, the toilets are clean and well stocked. Please note that a service charge is automatically added to your bill. This is becoming much more common now and you can always ask for that to be removed if you feel the service was lacking. We were glad to pay this as the staff have always been so wonderful.

Visited here on Saturday night as a group of 10 friends. There was a very nice chilled atmosphere in the building. We all had various starters and said they were amazing, especially the garlic bread. Our pizzas were delicious and so flavourful. Highly recommend the cinnamon dough bites for dessert! Service was wonderful, everyone was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend visiting Knead Pizza.

I used to live in Plymouth and used to get their pizza all the time, best in Plymouth by far! Definitely worth a visit and now they open late at weekends!

We tried Knead Pizza for the first time yesterday, and were very impressed. The pizzas were delicious and the staff were friendly.

The food here is outstanding, as evidenced by practically every single one of the reviews preceding mine. We ordered a margarita and the Parma farmer and both were divine. Great drinks as well, I love the san pellegrino cans. However, unfortunately I don’t think Knead warrants 5*’s - purely because of the customer service. The server gave our pizzas to the wrong table, didn’t bother telling us and when I questioned it he said oh yeah we gave them to the other table don’t worry yours are on the way, no apology or anything...thing is that it was the same guy that took my order who gave our pizzas to the other table and he didn’t even say anything to me when he eventually bought us over the pizzas- I don’t think it would have been unreasonable to ask for an apology?!

The location is inauspicious to say the least and the hours inconvenient. But if want pizza in Plymouth this is THE spot to find. Perfect crust, excellent generous toppings cooked to perfection. The stall itself is lovely, it is the "flea market" type location that is iffy. But once you arrive and when you get your delicious lie you'll be most happy you did so. And the chef is delightful.

We ordered takeaway through deliveroo from Knead Pizza last night and I have to say this is the BEST gluten free pizza base I have ever tasted. We ordered one GF and another normal base and we were we were very happy with the standard of pizza. Delicious!!

Great tasting pizzas with innovative toppings served promptly at seating inside the Plymouth indoor market. An interesting place to eat, but well worth it. Probably the most authentic and tasty pizza I have had in years. If only I lived closer by I would eat here regularly.

They do good stuff. It’s catching on particularly among families and groups of students and well informed foreign visitors. I think that the people who run KP are fairly clued up and know how to keep the place welcoming and efficient but a couple of times I have noticed that they seem to need an extra pair of hands making the pizzas. I have no idea whether anyone can or does book or order ahead but just bear in mind that there may be times when you have to wait. Good to see today that they have put some extra tables out beyond the stall plinth creating more covers. The bustle and popularity and the almost adjacent and even busier Taste of Thailand are creating a refreshing and attractive buzz to this part of the ground floor; think too of the Kitchen upstairs and the bun place on the northern rim and it’s great to realise that Plymouth Pannier Market is finally becoming a go to place to eat. Never thought I would say that!

As big pizza fans, Knead Pizza came highly recommended! And we were not disappointed! Nice team of staff who greeted us upon our arrival and helped us with our choice, they were happy to spice one of them up for us a bit too! (We shared a Pat Butcher and New sausage on the block). We had a lovely craft beer whilst we waited for our pizzas and thoroughly enjoyed everything from the drinks to the food. Beautifully cooked, great choice of topping with overall lovely flavour.

Been wanting to check this place out for a long time and got the chance today. Really really excellent pizza, lovely sourdough base, nice tomato sauce and good choice of toppings. Excellent value and a nice setting, staff really good also. £5 for an excellent Margarita is exceptional. More than half the price of Pizza Hut etc and much better quality and taste. Cannot recommend highly enough. Visited with my 2 girls who both loved it.

Situated in the indoor market in Plymouth came across this little gem. Good choices on their menu, the one I picked was exceptional and my wife said the same about her choice. We were served by really friendly staff and we were treated to observing a new member of staff being shown how to prepare the base dough and also being able to see ours being made. This was the best pizza I've had on the Plymouth area ever.

First time trying with a mate. Both really impressed. We had 3 pizzas between us, club mexicana, pepperoni & new sausage on the block (not pictured) all really tasty, always a fan of nduja sausage. Took what was left, home for supper. Staff were friendly, good value, great pizza.

I had been thinking about pizza all week so bit the bullet and ordered four through Deliveroo. I ordered 1 vegan option, 1 vegetarian and 2 meat options.

Super friendly staff at this cosy little nook within the market. We ordered both available vegan pizzas and were blown away. Not simply because it was vegan, but because of the quality of the pizza itself. Perfect sourdough base.

A pizzeria in the covered market that specialises in thin sourdough bases. Toppings range from meaty to vegan. They also sell craft beers and San pelligrino drinks. The pizza came out quickly and was quickly devoured as I ordered the butternut squash and goats cheese. Hot, tasty and filling.

Visited the newly refurbished pannier market and stopped off for lunch at Knead. Friendly and helpful service from Holly. The pizzas we had were superb, fantastic sour dough base and great toppings. The breadsticks we ordered as a side were also delicious. A great range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Well worth a visit and will definitely return when next in Plymouth.

I absolutley love Knead Pizza!!! they do the best vegan pizza I have tried and the sourdough base is perfect. it doesn't make you feel too full and heavy but just right! also the banana bread which is also vegan is unreal!! really friendly staff and amazing food, definitely worth a visit!!!

Beautifully cooked, handmade pizza which was absolutely lovely - light and thin crust with toppings that were full of flavour. We ordered the Parma Farmer and the Winter Is Coming (vegetarian) which were both delicious. It was a bit of a surprise not to be offered knives and forks, but eating the well-cut slices with our hands was fun. We noticed the serviettes and the larger tables are made from recycled materials, which is another plus. We were the only customers, which was a shame, judging by the high quality of the food. On Mondays they serve any two pizzas for £10, so we will take advantage of that offer soon! The chalkboard advertised unusual local and national ales/lager; these came in 330ml cans or small bottles and were priced at £4 each - a bit steep, but as they possibly come from micro-breweries, it's worth giving them a try. We had "Fang" pale ale from Cornwall, which had a distinct pink grapefruit flavour, and went well with the pizza. The two staff were friendly and very happy to talk, and we noticed that they did a lot of cleaning in the short time we were there - the serving and cooking area was spotless. When we left, they were immediately at our table to clear it. Very impressive.

Cool looking little pizza bar, nestled in the Pannier Market. Didn't eat in, but ordered a pizza to go for my hubby. A freshly made pizza that arrived 5 mins after I ordered it. Lovely crisp base & tasty toppings, definitely worth a visit.

Soft, fresh dough, flavourful ingredients, vegan cheese all drippy and melty, all cooked to perfection ...what more could you want? It’s the one thing I missed (when giving up dairy), the guilt laden but wonderful pizza- but no longer! Not the pathetic vegan type where they just leave off the cheese and give you a tomatoey base with a few chopped veg dried out & balanced on top, oh no, this is proper pizza! I moved away from Plymouth but seriously considering moving back- just for this place.

Fab place and fine taste! Knead Pizza is may be the only reason I'd go to the Market. Had a really great Mexican, veggie pizza, the atmosphere is quite nice, just a bit chilly this time of the year, as it's right by the Market doors. However they have provided a pile of blankets, good music and a selection of drinks to keep customers warm and happy. I loved the choice of pizza. Last but not least - excellent service, we didn't need to wait long, but those in a hurry can grab a slice on their way.
