It was a brilliant place I found the food a bit pricey but was worth the money absolutely delicious food then staff was amazing and polite the only issue I have is that the toilets was absolutely filthy and dirty and needs more attention because the toilets was dirty with pee on the seats and poo stains on the rim of the toilet there was toilet roll on the floor and pee on the floor to and it's not high standards that's my opinion but other then that absolutely lovely place to eat some chicken especially with how crispy the chicken was.
UPDATE: The food has given me a bad stomach and believe to be food poisoning please be careful and check your chicken before you eat it.
Awesome service as always-served by Isaac, remembered me from previous dining. (Takeaway)Quick and efficient. Food came out rapid and was still hot by time I got back to hotel. Love this Nando’s-staff are brilliant (says Lucy on receipt but was Isaac)
I went to grab a burger and this staff was so shocking bad and rude, There was this woman need emely who was doing the burgers and as I was watching her cook she looked at me and spat onto the patty before putting the cheese on it, Then you had this irish man who was cooking the chips and handing out orders, First thing he said to me was he didn't like how I looked and kept shouting at me and then when handing the food over he said here fatty, Then we get onto the woman taking orders, Her name is lex, I parked next to the bins and notices she was bin dipping looking for the tomatoes she had just thrown out, once she found them and came back inside she looked at me and said ew next and called me ugly without even taking my order, Then the person who took my order was a lovely young bloke called jonathan.
Been here a few times for food now. Very good quality food, good portion sizes and nice service. Lovely location and a nice, relaxed setting. One of the better spots on the Barbican.
Formerly called Tasty Food Express it was renamed to Bretonside Kebab a few years ago when the owner noticed there wasn't a place calling itself a kebab shop in Bretonside. I've happily used it under both names.
Guy with dark hair behind the bar (before we even said anything) told us and decided he wasn't going to be serving my partner as soon as we walked in because he looked too 'drunk' (bare in mind me and my partner don't even drink alcohol and so we also obviously weren't going to order anything alcoholic) how disgusting and judgemental - never experienced anything like this before... Well done for losing the company customers
I am leaving this review with 1 star only because I cannot give zero. I visited Coffee#1 in Plymouth on November 17th while in the area for business, and I was extremely disappointed by the experience.
The staff displayed unprofessional and disrespectful behavior, with shockingly poor customer service. We were served cold coffee, and when we politely requested it be reheated, one of the waitresses responded by swearing at us. This level of behavior is entirely unacceptable and unprofessional.
As someone who manages businesses across the country, I can confidently say this is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I would strongly urge the shop owner or manager to retrain the staff to meet basic standards of respect and service. I will not be returning to this establishment, nor will I recommend it to others.
The M&S Café, located on the 4th floor of the Plymouth M&S store, is truly a hidden gem. Every visit feels like a pleasant experience, thanks to the consistently delicious food and the wide variety of options available. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a satisfying lunch, or a relaxing afternoon tea, there’s always something to suit your taste.
The quality of the food is excellent, and it’s evident that a lot of thought goes into the menu. There are plenty of choices for all dietary preferences, including a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options, which is always appreciated.
What really sets this café apart is the outstanding customer service. The staff are consistently friendly, polite, and eager to help, which makes the overall atmosphere warm and welcoming. It’s clear that they take pride in providing a great experience for every customer.
The cleanliness of the café is another big plus. Every time I’ve been there, the space has been spotless – from the tables and floors to the cutlery and trays. The outside seating area is particularly lovely, especially on a sunny day. It’s well-maintained, quiet, and a perfect spot to enjoy your meal or a cup of coffee while taking in some fresh air.
Overall, the M&S Café in Plymouth is a fantastic place to relax, enjoy good food, and experience top-notch service. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the store or looking for a calm, clean, and friendly place to eat.
