Costa Coffee in Plymouth

It's too small, wheelchairs knocking chairs as they were entering the building, people having to move chairs to let people come past from getting sugar etc. There's a long main sitting area with single and double tables, everyone looked cramped like sardines, wasn't a comfortable area to sit and drink at all. The building is too small, no thought for wheelchair access, prams etc.. Felt cramped..

Best in liskeard. Possible start to a long overdue retail service revolution.

Took my 2 year old in yesterday who was excited to buy and pay for his own biscuit just to be completely ignored by the 2 women working behind the counter both walked past us at least 5 times the younger blonde one was on her phone and at one point the other lady came up to the counter and we thought we were going to get served so my son tried to give her his biscuit and yet again we were ignored and she walked off perhaps they were busy but a simple acknowledgement goes a long way. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere

I love all Costa’s, but the Drake Circus Shopping Centre is very especial and favourite to me, the staff are very friendly and they give you a positive energy. An absolutely amazing Costa Drake Circus shopping centre, Plymouth I go there when passing for work a couple times a week or when I go shopping or even for meeting friends, the service is always amazing. Every single one of the team give great service, always smiling and conversing with the customers. The drinks and the food are very pleasant and delicious, the atmosphere is great, and it’s always clean, highly recommend it.

Always nice staff who work very hard. Love the iced drinks in hot weather. Only nag is, not enough vegan/plant based options

Extremely poor management from a lady (I believe her name was Leanne). I witnessed her speak terribly to a young male staff member (beginning with K) who was complimenting the lady. She spoke to him extremely unprofessionally belittling him, this should have been done in private (if she had a problem) not in front of a full cafe. You could clearly see how taken back and upset this young man was as has no idea what he’d done wrong.

The nicest people who work here. Kind and sociable and they are very fast. And the coffee prepared by this location is exceptional.

Visited this branch yesterday. Have been before and found it to be a friendly welcoming place to enjoy a coffee……..not yesterday. Waited in the queue, myself and one other family, so wasn’t busy, plenty of room both inside and out. The barista’s were busy, one cleaning equipment another preparing a hot drink, (cold drinks of any sort were not available). She turned to me and asked if I needed a coffee cup sleeve, I replied “it’s not my order, I’m still waiting”……she continued anyway. Who the drink was for I don’t know, no one else in the queue before me. Anyway, she finished the drink and slid it across the counted to me with a ‘“there you go”. She then moved across and asked the only other customer behind me could she help. I gave a “ohhhhh” to which she ignored so I added “ I have been waiting here ages to be served”, she then gave me a stare that summed up just how uninterested she was. She then barked at me stating “you should of shouted then”, I replied, “you were busy love, preparing an order, can I get a latte and this item please”, only to be told, “ no, actually I’m not going to serve you”! Obviously I asked why….no answer. I then said “so I’m about to be ignored again” to which she replied “yes”. I left the store. She was cold, unwelcoming, rude and clearly didn’t want to be there. None of this was my fault. People get stressed, I get that, working in retail, dealing with customers is sometimes hard, but for goodness sake girl, leave and go do something that may put a smile on your face.

I visited here with my family and Chloe served me. Her service was exceptional I wanted to thank her for the great experience I had.

When it's open the staff are helpful. I prefer other outlets tbh. The coffee is better at marks and spencer

I have not actually been in here but it keeps coming up on this site that I have. But what I can tell you From Others that do use it and by certain people I know who work here it is a very busy coffee bar in the Top Part of the City Centre. The Staff are very friendly and will do anything for you within reason and apart from the occasional one which everyone gets the Customers that use it who are Regulars are very friendly and will help the public with directions. As for the Coffee its like most Costa Coffee Houses but the Customers reckon this Coffee Tastes Better than the others. This you will have to find out for yourselves. Personally I only buy from the Do it yourself Costa Bars in Supermarkets as I don't get time to stop.

Had a wonderful piece if cake..free as it was my birthday.

Had the literal best experience getting my daughters bubble blueberry drink and my popcorn latte. Got my free one after buying 8 and the girl serving me (Chloe) was so helpful and awesome.

We paid a Lunchtime visit to Costa Coffee located in the Shopping Mall and we’re a little surprised how quit it was compared to previous visits. Lovely Friendly Baristas who were very helpful and efficient. We ordered a Flat White and a Large Extra Hot Latte which were freshly brewed and very tasty.

Quick service, decent coffee. Only watch out is their WiFi is down so you can't access your Costa Club, no unable to collect beans not redeem your offers.

Enjoyed a coffee and cake at the Costa. Staff were so friendly and attentive during our visit. Georgia, Rich, Esther and Michelle are great ambassadors for the company. Will be back for sure.

Clearly this is a store that needs improving. Staff were asked a question at the till for an order, it was acknowledged but the barista ignored and made it anyway. On questioning they said they can't adapt orders. Then when the order arrived, it was like being served a whisky in a wild West saloon. The orders were slid, at speed, down the counter and if you weren't switched on, one could only imagine the clear up. Awful service.

I think the Hot Cross Bun Hot Chocolate was Chocolate orange by mistake. I'm not a fan of chocolate orange.

Whilst out in Plymouth shopping for the day gave the Drake's Circus branch a go. Very busy but few spare tables free. Had food to warm up which was done efficiently and quickly. But one drink was incorrect. Ordered Mint Choc frostino but got chocolate one instead. Didn't bother going back to change to to time. Apparently some others also had wrong drinks. To be honest the staff were overworked and trying to order through perspex wearing masks makes life difficult. Lots of general noise with chatting made things even more challenging. Wasn't very impressed. Probably wouldn't go back.

Ok typical Costa franchise. Staff were friendly and would visit again.

My recommendation... Avoid like the plague. This is no worse than any other Costa Coffee, or any chain coff shop for that matter but for an extra moment of looking one could find a local, independent, coffee shop to support.

Used the app to order for the first time today - seamless experience and avoided the queue. The staff were working hard and were friendly. Could be a COVID related thing with staff absences, but the customer seating area was a mess and I couldn't find a bin to ditch my own rubbish so unfortunately we just had to add to the problem. Detracted from an otherwise delicious mince pie and a much needed coffee!

Costa Coffee in the Drake Circus Mall is always busy and this visit was no different. Worth the queue and wait to get that lovely smooth tasting coffee. Latte and Cappucino were our preference and very nice they were.

We had arranged to meet the Wife’s Mum in Costa in the Shopping Mall, it was early and so Peaceful and Quiet. Staff were on hand to be helpful and the Menu was its normal plentiful self with everything available. We sat to enjoy Cappuccinos and a Latte. All freshly prepared and smooth tasting as always.

We stopped off at Costa in the busy Shopping Mall. Being a Monday it was fairly quiet and we were served by a very happy pleasant Barista. We chose a Latte and Cortado which were freshly prepared and very smooth and tasty.

Costa is my go too for coffee! But today I visited the costa in drake circus and the service was poor. The queue was out the door and service seemed ridiculously slow. When me and my mum finally got to the till the server was rude and blunt - you could tell she didn’t want to be there. When given our coffees my mum was given a small, when she ordered a medium. Instead of being made a fresh one, I just witnessed the guy pour the pre made coffee into a larger cup and add milk... it wasn’t very professional. Will be sticking to Waterstones costa in future. Very friendly there.

This was the worst Cost I've ever been too. Flies were perched on the covered buns, flies flying round me and other customers. Wasn't busy yet plates, cups and tBles not removed or wiped down. This needs new staff and a manager who manages this store the way it should be. 0/10

Went to Costa coffee this afternoon whilst shopping with my mum and the service was very poor. Waited in the queue for over 25 minutes (wasn't long when we joined it) and toasted sandwich was heated up way about 15 mins before hot drinks had been made so unfortunately had to ask for another to be done. Only one member of staff was polite and apologetic whilst the rest were rude and refusing to anything they were asked to. A lot of people walked out due to the unecessary wait and people had also wanted refunds as they were using out of date milk. For somewhere that isn't the cheapest they need to up their game as it seems to have got worse and worse over the last few months.

Visited for a coffee and before entering commented how friendly people in Plymouth were until going here! Coffee was poor tasting like it has only half a shot - there are better Costa's in the town

Despite being in the Extremely busy Shopping Mall in the City Centre where the queues seem to endless this Costa still provides a good quality experience and the staff are the usual Costa Friendly Baristas. We sat to enjoy a Latte & Cappucino and as it was approaching the Festive period we had a Mince Pie. All very nice and seating although at a premium this time of year was kept clean and tidy.

Called in for coffee at 8.30am, coffee always good at costa but today’s coffee was not very hot, the place itself was clean unlike the last one I called in the other day but considering how early in the day it was the toilet was not very clean at all.

Go to Costa nearly every day staff polite but toilets never seem to be clean and cafe is looking a bit grotty needs more attention to detail

Really poor taste , no marshmallows effected my drink alot resulting in limited sweetness and not a very nice taste , should taste nice without marshmallows but doesn't seem like it

Costa the brand - excellent, this store.........mmmm not so good. Someone more interested in disagreeing with a customer about hygiene and food practices then assisting the slow barista that was getting flustered with the 4 drinks they had to make. Resulting in 4 customers leaving, our order being wrong and it not being a particularly good experience. Perhaps a little support from someone else at this store might not go a miss

Had my usual Flat White and Brown toast, as always very nice. The guys serving were quick and served a perfectly presented and tasty Coffee. Good Show.

Went in at just after 10am. Hardly any breakfast stuff left. Only one bacon roll, no white bread for toast. Not what you expect from a Costa especially so early in the day.

Coffee was missing the cup as coming out of machine, hence very weak milky coffee, service so slow so went to Starbucks instead.very disappointed.

Just left there 40 minutes ago. 3 staff behind counter. 1 customer. Me. The staff were apparently too busy to even acknowledge me let alone serve me. After a couple of minutes I left without coffee. Don't waste your time there. There are far better places serving far better coffee in Plymouth. With the emphasis on "serve". Costa staff don't appear to know why they are there.

For the Gluten free porridge mine at home never comes out like that!?!

Popped in for lunch - great to see a shopping centre allowing dogs in, so we choose Costa, as the girls like their panini. Quick service, reasonable price and no issues.

Worst customer service ever! 4 staff on shift and only 2 customers in line. They lost our order and served before us 3 other people who came in after us. When we asked nicely where ours is, one of them snapped at ua saying "We are doing it NOW". No apology, no sense of customer service.

I love coming here, the staff are so friendly, the most friendly than any other Costa's I have been to who do not seem to care. The only thing I would say is that it feels a little cramped sometimes.

Coffee was weak and not very appealing. Flat white was milkier than your average latte. Very expensive for what you get. Customer service was average.
