Amazing staff, owners friend was helping him out, great service

This was a nice little quiet spot with a very friendly and knowledgeable gent that made my friend and I a lovely couple of drinks.

Love popping in here after a long day. Kevin is so welcoming. Great selection on the drinks menu, but the highlight for me are the high quality, premium cocktails. You just can’t go wrong with one of their amazing choices. You’re always greeted with a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The size of the venue is cozy making it a pert personal experience too. One not to miss if you’re in the area.

Lush cocktail and wine. Lovely atmosphere and good company. Well priced and we had a good time.

Popped in on a whim after hearing such good reviews and with the welcome of hearing beautiful singing outside, came in to a lovely clean and vibrant atmosphere, service was exceptional and the singer Roxie won my vote 100%. Had a lovely chat with her after, such a genuine and approachable lady. Thank you Portico for an all round fantastic experience. Will definitely be returning!!!

Absolutely lovely venue, lovely drinks menu with a good variety. Staff are fabulous and nothing too much trouble always willing to welcome people with a warm smile. Honestly a little gem in Plymouth centre. Perfect place for pre dinner drinks or before a concert at nearby pavilions or a show at the theatre royal. Great little wine bar and cafe - superb cocktails that have to be tasted to be believed !!

Horrible sounding singer belting the same 3 songs into the street from this bar every Saturday. She sounds so awful and it can be heard from all the surrounding buildings. Please for the love of god get a better singer then maybe my eardrums won't bleed every weekend.

Conveniently came to put a review after seeing the state of the outside and the service, heard a group talking about how they had been given reaper extract in their shots. We caught up with them not long after and one of the members were struggling breathing because of this. Seems someone from another table has already reviewed it. If that were me they wouldn't have a leg to stand on as I am a solicitor. Unexceptionable behaviour. Will not be returning after witnessing this.

Amazing cocktails and superb coffee - !!

Bit niche in both senses. Cocktails like gin seem to be a fad that is drifting slowly through Plymouth nightlife. This evolution of La Roux has a bit more oomph than before. We only came to LR a handful of times but Portico seems a bit more earnest and friendly. Still wouldn’t be our first choice but good luck to them.

Heard great things about this place What a disappointment No doubt the team will be aware of our complaint Ordered two aperol ,spritz out came two diff size glasses one big one smaller Pale colour Thought maybe they make differently to all other venues I’ve been to in uk and overseas But then two!aperol spritz to next table large glasses and colour was normal as had previously Had a couple mouthfuls no taste went to bar to complain Waitress stated running out of aperol;and no glasses Next table served after us how does that work ? Guy at bar very helpful and replaced but the attitude of lady was not acceptable Why offer drinks you cannot supply But why lie and say running out when next order perfect 0lease sort your customer service out

We gave this place a go because of the great ratings but we guess they are coming from the residents of the student accommodation building opposite. Our cocktails were below average, no taste at all and literally warm. The place was clearly understaffed hence unclean and disorganised.

Been a few times and even took family along on 3rd visit. Highly recommend!! Lovely cocktails and staff lovely. Order the Shirley temple. You won't be disappointed

A cozy bar with lovely cocktails and a tasty cheese/meat platter. Unfortunately this is where my good review ends. A certain male member of staff needs to check his attitude, when asked for a (very simple!) request we was met with complete and utter rudeness which quite frankly ruined my mood and my birthday.

A small and cozy place. Does not fit a lot of people but that makes it even more informal. A really good place when you don't like to have a lot of people around you.

Had a lovely evening here for my mum's birthday. Great atmosphere and good music. Wide range of 2 for 1 cocktails and great gin. We ordered 2 of the mixed platters, which were amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is definitely worth a visit.

Had a lovely evening at La Roux this weekend. Fantastic staff who made our party very welcome. It was a surprise evening for my sister and they had prepared our table perfectly - we had delicious platters of olives, nibbles & a cheese board...as well as yummy bubbles. We would definitely recommend to anyone for a casual drink or an evening meal and I will be back for sure.
