Excellent Wedding Venue! Our wedding on 17/08/2024 was incredibly smooth and beautiful. Pre-event planning was incredible. We had a few meetings with Monika and then Tara. They never failed fulfil our requests. The wedding packages are good but due to flexibility and excellent management by Monika and Tara, it was perfect. We requested for changing food menu due to preference of our guests. They managed very nicely to get excellent food. Wedding day was really incredible. Tara was there throughout the event with excellent management . The best part was confetti throwing party at beach. It was beautiful. All the staffs were extremely helpful and all our guests love them. Food was excellent. Our guests’ best favourite was soup. We loved it so much. I could not ask more for this perfect wedding venue. Thank you, Tara, Monika and all the staffs.

Best view ever. It's a belly up to the bar and place your order kind of place. You pay a high price for your food and they do very little to earn it. But the view... No pots of tea, only cups. Full English breakfast was only distinguished by the fact that they used actual real butter on the toast. That was a first in the two months I've been in England. For that alone I will return. 17gbps

Had a nice Eggs Benedict with Salmon. Vegan breakfast a bit disappointing as the Tofu was not flavoured or improved at all.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! From the moment we began planning, Tara ensured that every detail was seamless and stress-free. The entire process was incredibly smooth, allowing us to really enjoy our special day. Our guests said the food and service was amazing. The portions were very big. The venue itself has stunning sea views that provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and photos. It’s a beautiful location! Food was stunning, the view was stunning, the weather was stunning, staff were friendly service was quick drinks were good, atmosphere was great, absolutely no complaints, was on a date and I recommend this place and it didn’t disappoint we enjoyed it so much we went back a couple of days later with friends that were visiting Plymouth and they absolutely loved it

Perfect setting for morning coffee with family and friends.

We booked for a group of 10 on a midweek at 5:30pm. We arrived early but our table was all ready for us. Could not fault the meal or the service and the view is incredible. We ate in the glass room and a big shout out to Kezia who was our waitress. Attentive without being intrusive. This is all you want for a meal out with friends. Great food reasonably priced, good choice of drinks, friendly service. Kids menu was quality. We walked up after a visit to the aquarium so it was a 20 min stroll crossing the bridge at the Barbican. Two of our group hired Beryl Bikes from right outside the restaurant to go and fetch our vans from the car park , you can load in right outside . Highly recommend.

Poor service not quality at all staff not helpful

Imagine a glass box with a wood burner in the centre with plenty of seating inside and out. Sighted on the edge of a low cliff on Plymouth Sound. Lovely place for a wedding.

Stunning location, yet the food was very disappointing, had the seafood salad which tasted like a frozen bag bought at Iceland and same with the seabass tasteless .

Had a good works party here, staff worked hard to keep us supplied with liquids and always polite and smiling.

It was our first time visiting Pier One for breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and served to us with a very little wait time. The restaurant boasts beautiful views across the ocean- almost panoramic! I can definitely recommend!

Coffee devine,meal was nice,I had the most delicious chutney,The fish was nice but chips were little uncooked staff very fast and friendly,,

Stunning view and lovely staff.

The food was lovely and the waitress’s were very friendly and helpful, however the ginger bar man was very rude and almost seemed drunk? When we arrived we said we had a booking and he seemed frustrated and told us to “go and speak to Johnny” obviously neither of us knew who or where this Johnny was so we just sort of stood around all confused until a waitress helped us. When we asked the barman for more information on who “Johnny” was he ignored us and also said “your table is here but two women are sat in it right now sooo…” . He was just extremely unprofessional, unhelpful and quite rude. My partner and I were so baffled by our interaction with him. However the rest of the staff were amazing and we did in fact meet Johnny who was very lovely :)

Chicken burger was not nice but they replaced with a lovely piece of sea bass straight away can't knock the service just bad luck.

Appalling service! Requested to see the menu 3 times and was refused. I understand you require people to order at the bar however do you expect clients to chase you around the restaurant just to see the menu ?

We had a lovely breakfast today, and the service was amazing. I must say Grace in particular was so attentive and made us feel very welcomed after a long journey from the North!

First time visiting here, brilliant views. Not impressed with the food, it was ok but nothing special for the price. Limited menu. Our starter was warm and then had to wait over 30 minutes after finishing our main course. Slow service but friendly staff. Would not rush back to be honest

Everything was amazing!! My kids loved the food and drinks!

The food was very delicious. We had the Sharing Platters. Many delicious med meats, very good ciabatta, and tasty chutney. We also got very good coffees. The location, the place, the views, excellent. The music was ok, relaxing but probably too melodramatic and too radio actual, but overall ok. Now, the downsides, which disappointed me deeply as I really appreciated the value that could be added, was the cleanliness of the place and the furniture, a little bit dated. Also, the chairs are so noisy when people are sitting or leaving. In my eyes this place could become a fortune, even getting so busy that customers would have to book a table, all year round. It is a small step to get there but this step must be done, I honestly believe that. But, until then just three stars unfortunately. Good look.

Little gem with a view , suitable for coffee , breakfast and light lunch. View is amazing , food is good . Tables outside and inside , suitable for dogs, not for disable . Staff is friendly and helpful

We took our friends there to treat them before my daughters wedding to show them where it was and what the food was like after having a lovely meal there before, however our meal tonight was extremely disappointing. Our steaks were grissly, my friends fish was near enough burnt and she asked for bread and butter not toast and my girlfriend found a hair in her food but we don't like complaining so we didn't make a fuss. Really upset because we love the view but we won't be eating there again..

Visiting my son and family stop here for breakfast, lovely spot and views the food was yummy and very good value for money, friendly staff and very chilled vibe. Will defi go back.

Pier One is definitely worth a visit! It's a great place to relax and enjoy the seaside location. There are many restaurants and bars where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks, and the view is spectacular, so mealtime is especially recommended! There are many shops, so you can enjoy shopping and looking for souvenirs. In the evening, the view of the sun setting over the sea is spectacular, so don't forget to bring your camera! Visit with your friends and family and have a great time!

I bought a coffee here and it wasn't very nice at all. Nice venue, views etc. but the coffee wasn't nice. I ordered a flat white but won't be coming back.

Only popped in for a hot chocolate and the staff were lovely and friendly, great view definitely recommend

Great food. Lovely view. Even had the fire on to keep the cold out. Definitely one to visit if just for a cuppa and the glorious view over the sound.

Breathtaking views, and a lovely setting. Service moderately slow, although busy, had to check to see if they’d forgotten our order. Carrot cake deliciously moist and flavoursome.

Visited yesterday/ Saturday.fab venue with great veiws. There were 3 adults & 2 children we ordered 3 mains & 2 cakes& 3 hot drinks all food arrived promptly except 1 main ? We waited and waited so 2adults & children began their meals asked waitress where our missing dish was?& she went off & didnt return? consequently we finished our meals & cakes My son-inlaw went to enquire at the counter & was told it was just coming so obviously he cancelled his dish as we had all finished,this was so disappointing however our food & cakes were lovely. 🙃

Great location I can not avoid this but such a big potential is wasted on a very average food & drinks menu and very limited service. One of the girls was friendly but another waitress was very ignorant she came to the table I told her we are ready to order not sure what she understood and she left without taking our order. Coffee machine kitchen everything on the other side of seating area so it was challenging to serve as it was rainy & windy outside. My cappuccino was not a cappuccino no foam at all I asked kindly if I can get some foam then they burnt the milk it was undrinkable. Summertime must be beautiful but they need a better layout and more exciting menu & professional barista/bartender that place deserves.

Often pop into Pier One for an early morning coffee and occasionally a breakfast, before work. Stunning views to start your day with a smile. Staff friendly (table service) and the breakfasts are delicious. Can get busy, especially at weekends and weather is fine. Worth a visit.

We had our wedding at Pier One and honestly we could not have chosen a more perfect location! Being right by Plymouth Sound, the location made a perfect backdrop for our Wedding, the space is ideal for intimate weddings and the staff were exceptional. A special thank you to Monika for helping organise our wonderful day and Nathan for his amazing work on the day itself to make the wedding truly memorable. The food was fantastic, the service second to none and you cannot find a more beautiful location in Plymouth to host your ceremony! Thank you to all the team from Mr and Mrs Ninnim!

Lovely venue and very calming by the sea service has been excellent and food is really good, views are superb even in bad weather,staff have always been polite and considerate, very pleasant experience

Amazing food and place let down by staff... Last few times we have visited the service was not good. The first instance entering the property we were abruptly asked if we had a booking by a girl that was clearing tables. We never had to book before but the place looked deserted and we were eventually shown to a table that we did not want, but for 1h that were were there non of the other tables were used. This was just one incident Tonight was REALY bad. We tried booking online but site was not working so we called. After explaining that we would like to book for tonight and online was not -we were told to go back online. We decided to still go without booking... THE PLACE WAS empty but was too late to order food :/ why not tell us??

I don’t want to leave a negative review score as I don’t want to hurt the business but the owner or manager should know that Corey who is a young male member of staff is rude and argumentative.

English breakfast was good with the toast being really good! The mushrooms could have been better! But nice spot with good views.

Cosy views of Plymouth Sound on a blustery day with good food and a log burner!

Very disappointing lunch here today. We both had the chicken and avocado salad. Avocado was brown as was some of the salad leaves. It was dry and tasteless. We did ask if we could sit downstairs as there were two tables smoking and with the roof on , it was unpleasant. The adjacent area was also full so we had no choice but to sit outside. Have eaten here before and the food was quite nice but wouldn't visit again if people are smoking and we want to eat.

Most of our food was nice enough. Service was pretty spotty — 1st server who took our order was friendly… but after one of our party mentioned a milk allergy, the server changed most of that order without consulting back with us (removing egg & sausage, the key items actually wanted in the meal, and adding grilled tomato which we wouldn’t have ordered — had we been told about the changes, we would have had opportunity to ask for something else!) When we brought these un-communicated changes up with the 2nd server who dropped off our food, she was visibly annoyed. The chef came out to directly communicate and find out what was needed, which was appreciated, but after the replacement meal was dropped off, nobody came back to see if we were okay — which would have been nice to be honest, because the replacement meal’s eggs were cold. That meal was not charged for, but it was overall a disappointing meal. Nice view though.

Popped in here with a mate for breakfast and it was really nice, the food was better quality than the usual cafe. It is in a really good location with awesome views out to sea. I will go again.

Attended a family wedding. Great food, good service and amazing views. Would highly recommend.

We had the chicken and bacon burger, it was so dry and overcooked that it was crunchy. I kept wishing that I was eating at home because I can cook better than whoever made the burger. What a waste of good ingredients and money. Tables were sticky and the whole place needed a good clean.

One of my favorite spots in Plymouth, overlooking the sea and drakes island, service can sometimes be slow but the place is generally busy so it is expected. The location is a grand distraction, so that time will pass quickly.

We choose Pier One for our wedding last week. The whole experience was magical from start to finish. Monika was an amazing coordinator and was extremely attentive and professional. The venue is a great setting for a special occasion and perfect for a wedding. The different spaces enabled us to move into different areas post lunch for music. The food exceeded expectations and was priced fairly. The staff were really helpful and enabled us to enjoy our day without worrying about the needs of our guests. Thanks Pier One

I was alone and simply wanted a beer. I went to the empty bar and was informed to take a seat and I would be served at my table. I Off trotted, sat at my table.... nothing. A group of 4 males sat down, the staff came up served them and went for their drinks. Brought their drinks and left, so did I. Then she saw me. To late, I wanted a beer that's all. Bad service.

Not sure how your 'Ben and Jerry's ice cream sold here' kiosk doesn't sell Ben and Jerry's ice cream at all. Very Misleading indeed!

The view is amazing, drinks alright, service the slowest ever and food not worth it at all. We've been there few times, once for food. Anything we want we had to ask someone to come over, you can't order at the bar and we've been always just waiting there not being seen for a long time. Other than that is nice to have a drink there, it's absolutely beautiful. I had a vegan salad and it was so badly composed, no flavour, oily, made me feel nauseous. My partner had a tuna sandwich, it was alright, nothing special, but the portion size was satisfying. Overall if we come back it's mainly for the location.

Due to a change supplier, some staff on the menu are unavailable to order. The menu needs to be updated as is out of date, and half stock is not available. Staff lacked communication and misunderstanding, and incorrect drinks serve as our was out of stock, but none of the staff informed them before the order was placed. Salat is apparently fresh, but with some old staff inside and bacon 🥓 was not cooked properly as I returned back as I was unable to eat. Some of the staff need to pay more attention to customers as we are asked a couple of times this same question and receive a confused answer.

Really enjoy visiting here. We recently had our group of four plus one dog. Have ALWAYS found their table service staff to be respectful, polite and helpful. Their food is really good and decent amounts too. (Carefull what you order folks. The FULL English breakfast is massive but delicious)😁This restaurant is dog friendly as public places are becoming now, which is good. Water for any dog is always readily available by request, and maybe a doggy treat too! Beautiful sea views in upstairs + downstairs eating areas. Prices are more than fair and reasonable. Highly recommend trying out Pier One. A superb restaurant. Can get very busy and a bit noisy with loud speakers who don't believe in talking quietly. ( C'est la Vie 🤣) There are steps down to the restaurant, but wheelchair users can easily use the table areas at the Top of the entrance, and your orders/s would be brought to you. Also, you can park on the Sea Front directly in front of or near Pier One if you can find a parking bay. ( Good Luck on that 🤣) RINGO is the prefared method.

I don't leave many bad reviews, but the service at Pier One is always rubbish. On one particularly bad occasion, a young lad served us. My friend ordered a non alcoholic cocktail, because she was driving. A bright orange drink arrived, we both drank out of the glass (put our mouths on it), not realising it was an aperol! After a few more sips, the lad came back, TOOK THE DRINK AWAY FROM US AND GAVE IT TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. Out of the same glass we had both drank from... Two problems here: this poor customer was given a drink with two strangers' spit on it; secondly, my friend was unknowingly given alcohol and was at risk of not being able to drive home two hours away because a teenager gave her alcohol. I also agree with all the comments that say service is slow 😃

waited 25 minutes for our coffees and the restaurant was not busy, the bacon was grey and wasn’t crispy at all, mushrooms tasted like dirty water, overall not impressed, tables around us were also complaining. Do not recommend!
