Ideal place to catch up with family & friends

In my brief order, queue, service experience; I observed customers who locked themselves into the toilet, customers being rude to staff, customers’ orders needing alterations due to lack of stock .. and the staff handled all of it promptly, politely and patiently. Hats off to the team, I would not have as patient with people, had they been half as stupid or rude to me… truly - hats off 🫶

Had a refit recently, the old venue had a better atmosphere, the new look is very clinical and not the comfy environment it was before.

Friendly driver and found the address all okay.

Always a good service and food staff always present I like a banter all good

Staff are always friendly but always give me that light whip when I request whipped cream. Ruins the drink for me.

Not to my taste at all. Rather busy so tables not cleared, no interaction with baristas Maybe I was just unlucky and other people may have better experiences

We sat outside because we had our two dogs with us, a staff member came out specially to tell us we can now take our dogs inside Costa, that was really thoughtful of her to inform us of this as we didn't know they were allowed in.

Called in a couple of times for coffee when I was visiting the area. Nice & clean & served quite promptly. Nice to have several tables to sit at outside if you didn't want to sit inside.

Come here a lot for lunch with my mum, but recently came with a friend who suffers with AF and asked for a take out decaf latte, due to not being allowed caffeine as it can be very harmful with her condition. They mixed out order up many times… even though it wasn’t that busy and there were at least 6 people behind the counter… finally got our coffee which wasn’t marked decaf so I enquired a member of staff and she said “yes it should be decaf” clearly no idea… then asked a 2nd member and he said he didn’t know but would check… he asked an older male who I assume possibly was the manager… and he said “sorry I didn’t even read the notes on the order, I’ll change it for you now”! This is so careless and dangerous… I wasn’t even going to complain but from what I’ve seen on the news today, I can’t let it go… staff need full training to look out for these things and allergies, and to not be so careless, we are not ordering to be “bougie” but to stay alive and healthy… please sort this out, I have no idea of the names .. only a young man with tattoos on the takeaway counter, an older man running around like an idiot in a non busy shop, and a larger lady who just seemed to be floating around - 2pm on Monday the 12th of august. If you have allergies or any medical issues please stress this to them because clearly they don’t care or read the notes!!

Outstanding service, clean, tidy and the decor/ athmosphere is very uplifting and totally different to any other I've seen in Costa thought the U.K!

Service was quick, and staff welcoming and friendly. Excellent knowledge and procedures relating to food allergies and explained their process for keeping foods and drinks less likely to be contaminated. Great selection of food, limited for vegan diet. Drinks were good, and I liked that you could customise them to get exactly what you like. Was really busy, but the tables were clean, and staff were coming around to clear and wipe tables so people had a place to sit without waiting.

Spoke to George who chose a frappe as was torn between two. The coffee was amazing the staff very pleasant and the atmosphere was awesome

I not very happy with my order I said " bacon rap " not sausage rap so they didn't listen to my order so don't come here and I got the sausage out of my rap

Nice chilled morning in town. The sausage bap and coffee breakfast deal went down a treat

i am a regular customer at this costa branch. there is a young barista who works there named Heidi that i am frequently served by. she has incredible customer service, often taking time out of her busy schedule just to engage with conversation with her customers, and goes above and beyond to reach their needs. please keep up the good work !

A very busy Costa but always seen to find seating somewhere and very nice place .

Nice coffee, although a bit pricey, but the covered outside seat is nice, and since the refurbishment, there are new tables and chairs. Another nice touch when it's working is the ability to order by app so you don't lose your seat when ordering at the counter. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

Bad Coffee. Fat cakes. No decent bread

Had a fantastic interaction with the lovely lady at the till (Mya/Mia) Even at the end of a shift she still had fantastic first person customer person, a true delight 😁😁 If only all stores had employees like her

My daughter and I stopped in for coffee and a cake, and as usual, the barista's were friendly and helpful. The tables were clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the coffee was good.

Delicious drinks, lots of indoor seating. Nice place to hang out when you have some time to kill.

The drinks tasted great but when they were delivered, they were spilt everywhere and we lost almost half of the drinks. The delivery guy just gave it to us and said sorry it was spilt and left.

It's a Starbucks but with a Japanese smile

Most of delivery was missing, only got a biscuit and drink in a £24 order, frappé also had coffee in it even after ensuring that the frappé selected was caffeine free and a note added to ask that it was made caffeine free as the person it was intended for is intolerant of caffeine. Really not impressed.

Coffee & chocolate was fine. Disappointed that I was unable, again, to use my app to gain points.

Missing the personal touch. Replacing people with machines why bother with the coffee shop at all

The slowest people from a cafe. They are lucky that many people enter through the door because there are more places to sit outside and inside and because the other Costa is sometimes closed and last but not least because the coffee is very good. Stay and wait longer of 10 minutes for a coffee. And only one was making coffee and the 3 girls who were still there were circling like turkeys in a coop. Two of them were taking orders from a person who was waiting in line to order. You're very lucky that we love coffee because otherwise I wouldn't be watching them move like snails. You're too lazy to work, find another job.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

hot chocolate was bland and way too hot. Kit kat hot chocolate had floating chunks of warm bread-like stuff in it which was unpleasant

Good coffee only had one bad experience when I was at the cashier, I bought a cake and was given a knife which was really dirty. Luckily I spotted it immediately and it was changed with an apology. Staff need to check cutlery before giving it to customers

If u love coffee then this is the place to go

Had a coffee and cake. Staff were helpful. Tables were messy. Confussion over access to the toilets.

The staff were very helpful and carried my order to my table, as I am disabled, without me needing to ask. Only the toilet let them down - no loo roll. Otherwise it was great.

On this visit things had improved. Food was tasty and the atmosphere better. Good selection on menu. Will return again.

Stunning new renovation. Super creative and feels full of energy but yet is still calming and inclusive. I 100% feel like I wanna grab my pen and notebook and doodle whenever I'm here with a perfect cup of white chocolate mocha with a dash of peppermint perfect for these gloomy days

No opening hours on the door or window, poorly laid out, not enough tables, very uncomfortable wooden chairs, the only available tables hadn't been cleaned and had food waste on them and around on the floor, self service ordering area would be better off not being there at all, you could fit another six tables in that area. The coffee tasted OK though.

Costa should be very proud of the staff in this location. Friendly and helpful, incredibly impressed. The place itself is a little Spartan and not the cosiest I've been too, but the staff definitely make up for this. Well done!

I waited 15 minutes to collect an order ahead order of one drink. It was then made incorrectly with dairy milk when I'm lactose intolerant. I then had to wait another 5 to 10 minutes for the correct order.

A really nice new design for the café has arrived. Really pleasant vibe inside now.

Usually my go to Costa when in town but is far too busy. I don't think I've ever been here when I've not had to queue from the front door. The layout isn't the best for the amount of footfall it has and could do with a change to suit the takeaway people. 2023 review- They now accomadate the takeaway people which is a win but the aesthetic is terrible. The layout now does not come across inviting at all. It's cold in it's atmosphere, the acoustic is terrible and I couldn't hear my wife sit across from her. I've lowered my review score because of this and probably won't be coming into this Costa again.

A inner lid was not placed under the top lid and therefore the poor driver spilled coffee. Luckily I still had 3/4 of the coffee left which I still enjoyed. Credit to the driver though.

New furniture is not very comfortable, new ordering service is not age friendly. I saw plenty of people of an older age trying the new system and the walking away from the screen either out of the store or to the tills to order the old-fashioned way. The signage is not very clear. Above the new self-service, it says ORDER, so people think they have to order at the screens. It needs a bit more thought.

Waiting far too long for a coffee .

As lovely as the Costa is, the service is soooo slow, I have been here several times and it does not change, even when empty you could be waiting 20 minutes. Leadership efficiency is needed to make this Costa work for its customers. My patience is wearing thin I’m afraid.

Few places to sit comfortably. Get yhe impression they want your money but don't want you to stay.

Very helpful staff they brought my food and drinks over as I was on crutches, be great if you did gluten free sandwiches, and vegan food then you definitely get 5 stars

Typical city centre Costa with seating indoors and out. Quick service and able to keep up with busy early morning trade.

Expensive coffee shop selling bog standard coffee, not a lot else to say.

Wrong order was delivered, delivery driver said it was my problem and wouldn’t take the order back. No way to contact the place to correct this or get a refund correctly and my order was £20 when the order given to me was £5. Absolutely ridiculous

Delivery was quite fast compared to other deliveries i've had in the past, everything was OK, friendly driver .

The barista serving this morning was exceptional.

Costa is a good place but it's now becoming very expensive I will cut down my visits used to go everyday but once again the prices have gone up I will cut it down to a couple of visits a week

It's ok There are much better coffee shops and food shops in Plymouth

My wife and I had a coffee and a latte. They were both very nice an the person who served us was very friendly.

Enjoyed a coffee and a cake with my son ( who had hot chocolate) and it was lovely. The coffee was perfectly brewed and the cake was lovely and fresh.

This is a good meeting place but nearly always busy,.outdoor seating is ok but can be hard to get a seat as the smokers sit out there

Costa is a fantastic coffee shop well worth paying a bit more for the quality We all need to have a few luxurious moments to remind ourselves that things can get better. Staff are compassionate and kind Highly recommend this coffee shop 👌

This Costa needs to be shut down because me and my family went there to have something to eat and drink but "you can't sit in the store because there toilets are broke" you wasn't even allowed to sit outside the store. Then you have the rudeness of the staff, starting arguments with the customers.

Good friendly staff that work hard to get the food and drinks out quickly.

Great place for a time-out and relaxation. However, the place could do with a good spring clean. As you do, you would be looking at the place and start to notice things. Overhead, there are thick cob webs hanging off the light fittings. Floor mop stains along the skirting board level and dust where they have rushed the cleaning. It is not good for the owner to see what his employees are missing.

Was overcharged for a toastie, when I pointed out the error no apology was made. The coffees were made in good time, the first mocha was good but the second one I had was awful and I couldn't drink it.

Love my mocha hate the price lol

Dishwasher not working so they were only serving using takeaway cups - not a great environmental message

On one or more occasions the toilets were unclean and unpleasant condition

It's a good place to be inn and take you're tea etc
