After my food I was desperate for the loo and shot too the public toilets in the side of the cafe. When returning to my vehicle I had a snotty note on my window threatening me with a parking ticket. When I went to the cafe to ask about this and get my coffee the blonde haired lady was vey rude and disrespectful. A surprisingly varied menu considering this cafe is really just a small cabin, but our experience - on each of two recent visits was disappointing. Chips were undercooked. They look great in the tray, but unpleasant to eat. Difficult to digest. Their Pilgrims pasties were tepid, very greasy pastry and an unpleasant colour to the filling. Didn’t eat them or most of the chips. They try to provide a quick meal and get through the waiting queue quickly. All a bit hit and miss but the food is not cheap. Would not buy hot food from this cafe again.

Like one of the other reviewers here and on more that one occasion, she has left me standing waiting for her to finish her phone call (which was obviously private and not work related). No thank you or even glance at me when I returned our tea mugs. It made me feel really uncomfortable and very unwelcome. Stunning location - Devils Point is arguably one of the nicest places to view Plymouth Sound, and inarguably the best location to see Drakes Island. You can have your food looking down over the wall, at any number of the expanse of things to feast your eyes; on the beach, or from your car in the carpark just along the road. Please note that although you can park your car in the carpark outside the cafe, it is only for costumers and you should move along to the next car park around straight after ordering. I don't think they're very tolerant with the people that stay. Food is fairly quick - their chips are a personal favourite. Always nicely seasoned with plenty of vinager and salt, they never fail to hit the mark - although the portion in the cone is never enough for this chip addict! However, the service is sometimes very bad - the man is nice enough, sometimes very friendly - but the women always has an unpleasant look on her face and has never once been nice. They also seem to shut quite early - we have been told that even 5 minutes before 3 o'clock that they won't do our food. Mostly when it's the women that's there! Overall - lovely location, nice food, bad service, average time and prices.

Stopped here and bought a cup of tea and had it in my car. Then purchased an ice cream and went for a short walk. The tea was weak/cheap and the ice lolly disapointing.I came back to find a parking fine for parking in their customer only car park. Im a little confused why I got this. As I glanced back the owners had a smug look upon their faces. So I proceeded to peel the fine off my car window and cast the plastic outer with the papers inside (i think) down on to the floor with hasty intent. I didnt even bother to open it. The car park is free to use for customers, that is what I was. The sign suggested £100 fine. What a joke this fake cafe is. I bet they try this ticket scam on every car that parks in their car park.I am also seeking legal action against this outfit for touching my car and attaching a heavy glue/plastic wallet to my window which now needs to be professionally removed and the glass restored as directed by Mercedes. They should think twice about trying to extort money out of paying customers. They must think everyone is a right mug.You have seriously messed with the wrong guy.I WILL NEVER EVER COME HERE AGAIN.

Our dining experience at the Mayflower was mixed, with friendly service but substandard food. Service: The staff were welcoming and attentive, resolving minor issues like smudged glassware quickly and professionally. The bread service was a nice touch, and we appreciated the small details from the staff. Food: Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. My Wagyu Burger (£27) was dry with a stale bun, and the beef short rib (£33) was more like a small, over-seasoned croquette rather than a proper portion. Both dishes felt overpriced for what was delivered. Response to Feedback: When I shared feedback with the staff, the waitress didn’t seem to know how to handle it and left us feeling quite uncomfortable. Although the manager, Mike, later removed the cost of the mains, the experience had already been marred by the poor food quality and lack of service recovery at the time. In summary, while the service started strong, the disappointing food and awkward handling of our feedback made for a subpar dining experience.
