Tasty Foods in Plymouth

Formerly called Tasty Food Express it was renamed to Bretonside Kebab a few years ago when the owner noticed there wasn't a place calling itself a kebab shop in Bretonside. I've happily used it under both names.

Service is very quick and the servers are polite and friendly, even when it's 2am and drunk people are shouting. Top marks for their pizza, it's delicious!!

My wife claims this place has the best kebab in Plymouth and I think she might be right (on this one occasion). I had spicy spuds and a chicken shish wrap and it was soo good. The owner was happy to chat away with me even though I had a few drinks that night. He's even got a wall of bank notes from other countries, so if you've got any spare at home, bring them in!

Vile!! This place used to be great but it's gone downhill! A driver last night punched a hole in my door and was making threats over a situation that was being resolved.

Hands down the best place for late night food, the customer service is at it highest level!

If you Ask for your order to be halau.... or have any colour to you.. they will charge you the correct price.. I'm English and coloured and they toke great offence to this and tried to over charge me for chicken that should have been 6 pounds to a massive 15 pounds I was not drunk and I was polite... this place is already a money factory and I'd happily ask people to see other retailers for their food... especially those that have had a few drinks!!! Do not feed these greedy rip off's hating on other pray praying on the drunk as I saw that night !!!!!

Slight tweaking towards kebab sales but the business has recently changed hands and is now called Bretonside Kebab. Open on a Monday evening when most of the other grab and take food places around here seem to be closed. Average prices and food. Probably useful as you spill out late from of any of the nearby half dozen bars.

DO NOT EAT THERE!!! I order a Chicken Burger, one of the staff dropped the bun of the chicken burger accidently on the floor. He picked it up and put it on the grill. He wanted to serve that to me until I confront it him. Hygiene 0%

Delivery driver drove off at such speed in reverse and skidding round onto a main road nearly knocking down two children when I rang was told they were busy! Not good enough had he hit the children the speed he was doing he could of killed them!!!!

Always order off them and are always on time and food is tasty, my favourite takeaway and great prices with decent amount of food couldn't fault them. Keep it up you're doing a great job.

These people are abusive and there drivers drive illegally, when I rang to complain they became abusive and just eat did nothing, plus there phone number is registered as Ali babas

Read the whole review to stop wasting your money on this terrible takeaway, and the app "DELIVEROO"... The order took 1 hour and 45 mins to be delivered when it said estimation of 30 mins. The donner kebab looked like it was still alive and was very pale looking (certainly didnt look like a donner kebab to me, not sure what it was) The food was luke warm but that i can deal with as just zap it in microwave, but thats not the point. And last but not least a kebab means the meat is INSIDE the pitta bread, not thrown ON TOP of the pitta bread, and making it soggy and uneatable, Very poor and very lazy in my opinion.. 2nd time i used this place, the first time wasnt that much better with different meals as i always give places a 2nd chance. But never again. I gave the place 1 star as i had to press something.... And as for the app i ordered from on "DELIVEROO", after my order i found it cheaper On "Just eat" So if you must buy from here make sure you use JUST EAT. I certainly dont understand why that is? A right rip off..

my order was wrong, i rang up and they didn’t even give me a refund and said i can get cheesey chips free next time by writing a comment???? the kebab was cold and it took over an hour to get here! Won’t be ordering again so won’t be getting my ‘free food’.

Always tasty hot food weather collected or delivered. Really nice staff. My son dropped £5 in their shop and they rang me to tell me it was there. I never order kebabs anywhere else. The chilli sauce is the best in Plymouth

Ordered food of this diabolical establishment firstly they sent me the wrong order when I phoned up to dispute this they very argumentative and rude I explained that part of my order was wrong they refused to give me a refund as I requested and I had been waiting over an hour for my food I would avoid this place and will never recommend it disgusting

Great customer service, prices are decent, especially for the amount of food that you get. I ordered a side thinking it would be a small plate, I was wrong. It tasted good too.

Better than the vans and counters around the Barbican and Union St/Royal Parade in that the quality and turnover make for modestly better quality and the prices seem to be a bit lower. Very friendly, quick and well loaded portions. Pity I think that the semi charcoal grill doesn't throw off some flames for a more charred flavour. Parking in the small car park back on the mini roundabout or a couple of on street spaces back near the paper shop. Although I'd imagine most people late at night pass through here on foot.

When returning to hotel I passed Tasty Foods Express and immediately had the kebab urge. An Extra Large Donner Kebab was ordered and it came with mountains of meat and salad. It certainly filled a gap and was excellent quality and taste. This is certainly a place I will visit again when next in Plymouth.

The people are friendly that's great. It the food its shocking! It tastes so bad, chicken was dry and chips soggy. Won't be eating here again feels like a waste of money.

Worst food i have ever had!! Because i asked for fresh chips that was the only thing that wasnt old. The chicken wings were so old and dark brown looked like they were heated up several times!! The wrap just had breaded chicken with a sickly minty type of sauce not garlic. They gave it so fast within 20mins but now i know why cos they didnt even make it fresh! Dont waste your money here best to stick with the usual.

Arrived hot and in reasonable time. Chicken looked undercooked and they didn't give us the chips we ordered, no salad in the burger. Disappointing.

Food was 40 minutes late than the estimated delivery time, the driver was at the wrong address even tough I changed the address before to make the order. The food was cold and in the order we didn't get the can of soft drink which I payed for. The driver phoned to ask the address and he didn't speak good English at all! Awful experience

Food was alright but whoever had packed the bag had tipped the garlic mushrooms on their side, so the entirety of the garlic butter had leaked out onto the rest of the order. Not particularly impressed when it came to unwrapping everything. Delivery took a long time, but it arrived at the time that they had estimated so can't really complain. Fried chicken was sub-standard, chips weren't great, but the chicken burger and onion rings were quite nice. Not inclined to buy from here again.
