I love Yeo Valley food and it's ethos. Popped in after a walk in the area to check it out. Beautiful location. Had just had a pub lunch so didn't want food. However, I tried to buy some ice cream from the shop to take home but they wouldn't let me without buying a cake or coffee, which I didn't want, very odd! Did they not want my money? Hence the poor review.

We went here for a surprise Birthday meal we were all made to feel very Welcome. I asked the staff for a recommendation on a Curry as I wanted to try something different. I was recommended to try the Chicken Chat. WOW it was Amazing. All our meals were lovely even my fussy teenager who doesn't eat curry loved his sticky chicken and egg fried rice. We will definitely be back again.

We visited for a birthday lunch on Good Friday and had a really lovely time. The view over the lake is stunning, eating outside on a sunny day would be idyllic (it was not the weather for it today!) The food was delicious and portions very generous. Great selection of sandwiches, soup, and main meals, and desserts! It's obviously popular with both people and dogs, with doggie snacks available at the bar, and so cosy and welcoming - the little Yeo Valley touches here and there make it really special. And all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you, we'll definitely be back.

We stopped here for one night recently, and it was really pleasant. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The menu was on a board, and we ordered two lovely meals. I had the meatballs and I must say delicious! Beers and wine all good, decoration was excellent just how an old traditional inn should be. Our breakfast in the morning was also good. Room we stopped in was OK, felt a bit dated with old furniture but it was clean, warm decent size.

Had not been there for along time, will not be going again. Had to wait over an hour for our food which was very disappointing when it came. The chef needs to learn how to cook Yorkshire puddings. The broccoli was raw it must have been put in the hot water and taken straight out.

We booked a table for 1.00pm and were seated and our order taken within 10 minutes. Our servers were friendly and efficient, but our meals didn't arrive until 2.00pm. Unfortunately, most of it was inedible. The vegetables were dried out, the yorkshire pudding, which made up most of the meal, was rubbery and tasteless and the roast potatoes were so overcooked, they looked like and had the texture of charcoal. Only one of our party managed to break one open, but they were black most of the way through. I understand accidents happen in the kitchen, but don't serve you mistakes to customers! Sorry, I wont recommend and definitely won't be back. Sorry

This is probably our 4th or 5th stop off at The Crown on the way home. A pub we discovered not long after lockdown after walking in Cheddar . It is an absolute stunner- a hidden gem. Traditional olde worlde with proper stone floors and a roaring fire. Lots of outside space but today after a walk at Goblin Combe we dropped by and that roaring fire was very welcome. We grabbed a couple of ales which were very nice and on a whim ordered a sandwich each. We’ve never eaten there before and these were amazing . My wife has rare roast beef and there must have been about an inch thick of lovely thinly sliced beef. I had ham and cheddar on granary - again absolutely thick with filling and lovely bread. It seems silly fussing over a sandwich but even the side salad was very good. I can’t wait to come back and have a lasagna on another cold day after walking. Staff have always been very friendly -it is obviously a locals pub but has never felt that they treat outsiders any different. Probably the best pub we’ve ever been to?

Booked here for my dad’s birthday, as I had read lots of good reviews online, however our visit was very disappointing. We arrived at 7:30pm for our booking and didn’t get our food until gone 9o’clock. Upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen was overwhelmed and we would have to wait to order anything. Drinks took a while and when they did arrive, we were then told that one of them couldn’t be made because they didn’t have the correct stock. When our food finally arrived, there was no acknowledgment from the staff that it was late, even though a neighbouring table in the same situation was offered free drinks as compensation. The service was not very attentive and we ended up chasing a few things, which was a shame as it was a lovely setting, but probably wouldn’t return.

Stopped here for the first time and so glad we did. The welcome was warm and friendly. The carvery was amazing hot tasty and great value for money. Lot's of choice from the carvery and vegetables were also cooked very well. I would recommend booking as it was almost full when we got there at 3pm and was still very busy when we left st 5pm .
