I booked this place for a two day training event in one of their small meeting rooms (The Beatles Room). A stunning and different location, overlooking the lake…best of all was the food…breakfast, lunch and afternoon cake, all except t ing with really good service. I will definitely use again when I’m working in this part of the country.

We booked this because of its location to the airport. We checked in at 3lm which was ideal. We was told the pub would open at 5pm. Which again was perfect. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was extremely comfortable. I had noticed that breakfast was included in my stay. However due to earky check out (3am) we missed out. I was very disappointed to find out a discounted evening meal wouldn't be allowed to offset the missed breakfast. But it is what it is. We went to the pub and was shown the menus, at 5.15 we tried to order, only for the owner who had completely ignored us when we first walked in ( we was the only people in there at that point) to say.... We can't order until. 6... OK again that as fine but she then belittled the barman who had show us the menus and then said we would have to wait until 6pm before we could order... Now we would have been happy to wait but there was ZERO effort made by the ower to make us feel welcome. She was more than happy to great the locals though.. So we went to another pub down the road and had an amazing meal and was great with a exce8warm welcome. For £100 for 1 night with not even a hello I was very disappointed. There are cheaper and better more friendly around

We booked a table for 1.00pm and were seated and our order taken within 10 minutes. Our servers were friendly and efficient, but our meals didn't arrive until 2.00pm. Unfortunately, most of it was inedible. The vegetables were dried out, the yorkshire pudding, which made up most of the meal, was rubbery and tasteless and the roast potatoes were so overcooked, they looked like and had the texture of charcoal. Only one of our party managed to break one open, but they were black most of the way through. I understand accidents happen in the kitchen, but don't serve you mistakes to customers! Sorry, I wont recommend and definitely won't be back. Sorry

This is probably our 4th or 5th stop off at The Crown on the way home. A pub we discovered not long after lockdown after walking in Cheddar . It is an absolute stunner- a hidden gem. Traditional olde worlde with proper stone floors and a roaring fire. Lots of outside space but today after a walk at Goblin Combe we dropped by and that roaring fire was very welcome. We grabbed a couple of ales which were very nice and on a whim ordered a sandwich each. We’ve never eaten there before and these were amazing . My wife has rare roast beef and there must have been about an inch thick of lovely thinly sliced beef. I had ham and cheddar on granary - again absolutely thick with filling and lovely bread. It seems silly fussing over a sandwich but even the side salad was very good. I can’t wait to come back and have a lasagna on another cold day after walking. Staff have always been very friendly -it is obviously a locals pub but has never felt that they treat outsiders any different. Probably the best pub we’ve ever been to?

We didn't stay as guests but just a large party for the Sunday roast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The roast was excellent and extras like cauliflower cheese were offered. The hotel is pleasantly decorated and feels homely so was just right as part of the weekend's celebrations for our daughter's 40th birthday.

Stopped here for the first time and so glad we did. The welcome was warm and friendly. The carvery was amazing hot tasty and great value for money. Lot's of choice from the carvery and vegetables were also cooked very well. I would recommend booking as it was almost full when we got there at 3pm and was still very busy when we left st 5pm .
