Extremely pleased with my Ploughman’s everything you could want and homemade pickle and the staff were really friendly and more than happy to have a little chat!!

Attended Wedding Anniversary celebrations. Lovely Pub. Small room off from the bar seated around 30 people. Cosy, and lovely decor. We all had different meals..Roasts, Lasagne. I chose Roast Beef and wasn't dissapointed, large portions, Plate filled with Creamed potatoes topped with a huge Yorkshire pudding, that was filled with crispy parsnip crisps. Beef was so tender and Roast potatoes were good. Gravy delicious, a side of vegetables was also served...but was too much! Absolutely enjoyed it.

Stopped for a lunch on the way to airport. Food, atmosphere and staff, all great! Will definitely return next time I’m passing. Highly recommend.

Visited the pub to meet friends for lunch. We received a warm welcome and ordered food from the “Specials” board. The service and food were excellent. We will be back.

Fantastic lunch here for me and my partner. Tuna & red onion hot baguette for me, cheese & mushroom for my partners, came with salad and chips. I’ve never had a better baguette so much filling and so tasty! Staff were all very friendly and attentive, we will definitely be returning. Excellent value too!

We were driving back after staying in Taunton and we’re looking for somewhere for lunch. We decided to stop at The Churchill Inn. What a find - our lunch was absolutely delicious and the service was first class. The food was akin to some Michelin star restaurants we’ve attended. We’ll done!

After spotting this pub on the roadside on way back home from our holiday we decided to try our luck for a table. Once we parked up we saw it was extremely busy but after speaking to one of the bar staff they managed to fit us in thankfully. we continued to be seated and the warmth of the service we received was excellent and the food was outstanding! We shall definitely return but I recommend booking up as it looked very popular for a Sunday roast and we was just very lucky. Thank you for a great experience :)

Three of us had lunch here recently, and very good it was too. Our welcome was warm and convivial, and service throughout was professional and friendly. The 'mis matched' country-house style furniture helps create a relaxing ambience. Food was reasonable pub dining style, certainly nothing to complain about but nothing striking either - other than, on the day of our visit at least, my fish n' chips came with garden peas and not the mushy peas on the board. Recommended if you're in the area.

We had a lovely meal at The Churchill Inn. A lovely choice of the menu. Gluten free options were not marked on the menu but the chief came and told what would be gluten free. There was lots to choose from and told me they had gluten free buns for the burgers and the chips were also gluten free

Went with family for Sunday roast (we have been here many times before) They said only beef and turkey left which we found out later was untrue Today the food took over a hour when we started eating the beef was terrible uncooked potatoes and gravey that had pepper in not good the head waiter's said ill go and see what I can do did she No we were still hungry so had a pudding I had Eaton mess which just had ice cream and cream no fruits only to be told it had coulis well it was terrible and cost the earth My sister told the owner/manager about our concerns who became very rude and told her the meal next Sunday would cost £150 can't believe his attitude I was 1 of the 1st customers he had when he took over this once thriving pub Won't be ever going there again and will let my friends know to eat somewhere different where customers are treated with some respect

Very poor Sunday lunch. Beef and pork mix. Beef had been reheated in the microwave and was curled up at the edges. Pork was dry. Vegetables and gravy were tasteless. The young waiter noticed that I didn’t have any pork crackling, so went to get some for me. He bought it out in his hands and placed it on my plate!!! I think some food hygiene training is essential! We won’t be returning and will continue to enjoy the absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch at our regular haunt in Cheddar.

The food is not as it is described in the menu. For example a beef lasagne comes with additional pork, beef burgers with extra plastic and cider with some disgusting additions in a dirty glass. The bar staff did not care, the chef said to refund. This is not the point, talk about selling food that is not as described. We couldn't get out fast enough!!

A lovely Sunday roast in The Churchill. We were given quite a stingy portion of cauliflower cheese (one pot for 6 of us), but otherwise it was delicious and contained some unique additions. Lovely pub in the heart of the countryside!

We were in the area, so we thought we'd lunch at The Churchill Inn as we have always had a pleasant experience there. We thought we'd have a change from fish n chips, scampi n chips, so my companion ordered the Chicken Marsala, and I had the Crab Sandwich with salad and fries. The salad was full of different bits and pieces of vegetables and fruit, making interesting explosions of taste in the mouth! Great stuff! The wonderful baristress explained about the crab, how it was brought freshly caught from Brixham. All very interesting! Highly recommended!

Delicious Sunday roasts, turkey, pork, beef and Ghost roast. Everything about these dinners is well thought out and all variants tasted wonderful. Everyone loves the parsnip crisps which top the dinners. Attentative staff, fabulous range of vegetables and the best gravy. Everyone full, from Great Grandma to the grand children. But we still managed desserts. Clean plates again. The best Crem Brulee I have had, but from a range of other favourites. Many thanks. Ray more than enjoyed his birthday lunch.

Three of us were in a hurry to have a quick lunch on 30 April and were accommodated splendidly by the helpful folks at the Churchill Inn. Despite having other parties to serve, they rustled up delicious Paninis in double-quick time, accompanied by piping hot fries and salads. We were, necessarily, in an outbuilding but all was done most Covid efficiently and we had a good view of the hens which potter about and, doubtless, supply excellent eggs...

I have been a few times in the last month and every time the food was excellent. Very well presented and delicious. I had the faggots which were homemade. Another time gammon. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The chef came out to ask if everything was satisfactory. Puddings too were very good. Chef told us they are having theme nights, first one was French and was full. The atmosphere in the pub was calm and happy. A very enjoyable experience. Will definitely return.

Lovely friendly village pub , with cosy atmosphere & tastefully decorated . Dog friendly which was a bonus for our 2 , we had lunch one off menu & one off special s board served piping hot , tasty and nicely presented . Great value for money highly recommended.

Stopped off here for lunch pre flight to Turkey. Staff very hot on protecting you in view of the pandemic with hand sanitizer at the entrance and a one way system. Extremely clean and well organised ! The food was lovely with huge portions - the best chips I have ever had ! Lovely outdoor area as well which was welcomed on a warm sunny day. Would highly recommend this lovely pub !

Stopped off for lunch on our way back from Bristol. I had homemade soup, and it clearly was. Delicious!! Served with hot panini and melted butter. My girlfriend had the Thatchers battered haddock and skin on chips. Just amazing!!! So nice to visit a pub with great food, and not pre packed chain rubbish

We visited on the off chance that they could fit us in last minute and they were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, friendly and a great atmosphere. We were a group of 10 over two tables and the food was the best Sunday lunch we have all had in years. Everything came out hot and freshly cooked, the children’s option was again fantastic. I can’t recommend this pub highly enough, if you want amazing, reasonably price, friendly, value for money then this is the pub to visit

Had a great meal, steak cooked beautifully. I've been a few times previously, always great. My friends first time and she was very impressed. Really good daily specials, nearly had the venison, port and Stilton pie, will do next time if its on. Staff very friendly, service great and food served quickly and very hot, will be going back very soon.

It’s a shame. If they’ve no customers they shut. Which is fair enough, but word gets about and people won’t make the trip if they think it might be shut. You open your opening hours. You’re there for the custom, the custom isn’t there for you.When I got there I felt like I was depriving her of shutting early.Just didn’t feel very welcome, and got no conversation out of her whatsoever. Was on her phone. Stayed for 1 and left. Is this the way pubs are these days?

We visited this amazing pub today for a birthday lunch, there were 13 of us including four children and a toddler, the service was really good, all of our meals were served at the same time, we all had the Sunday roast, the food was delicious, the meats were all excellent and the vegetables cooked perfectly, the staff could not do enough for us, although the pub was really busy, I would recommend this pub to anyone who enjoys excellent food in an accommodating, friendly, warm atmosphere, top marks to all the staff there.

Just visited the Churchill Inn. What an absolute gem! We were greeted with a friendly smile and a warm welcome. The Sunday Roast was outstanding. Very generous portion of meat and a vast array of colourful perfectly cooked vegetables. Have already booked again for 3 weeks time. Congratulations to all concerned as it’s very rare to come across such excellent food and the restaurant is a credit to you. Wine list too was very good and reasonably priced. It’s only a few minutes from Bristol airport so perfect for a pre or post flight meal.

Visited the Churchill inn for the first time on Saturday and wasn’t disappointed what a nice place ,there was a lovely atmosphere cosy and relaxing and a friendly welcome,the restaurant was nice and you were able to talk as there was know music playing in the background which a lot of restaurants seem to think is required,there was a good selection of drinks available at reasonable prices the food was of good quality and ample portions and good value for money, all in all a very pleasant experience and one we shall be enjoying again .

Stopped here on the way to the airport and the pub is very attractive inside with an open fire and pleasant atmosphere. Menu is mainly pub style food, burgers, steaks, grills etc. with some daily specials. We opted for the barbecue chicken burger and a home made steak burger. Both were served with delicious chips, coleslaw and salad and were well presented. The chicken burger was well cooked and better in our opinion than the steak burger which seemed a bit soggy with all the extras in the bread bun. Staff were friendly and attentive and even came over to our table to take our order.

We knew the pub had new management and I had read the recent reviews and we decided to stop on the way back from Bristol. It was great, decor fresh and modern, staff friendly and then the food, I had beef chilli,not to hot, I thoroughly enjoyed it , my other half had vegetable curry, very nice lots of different vegetables in it making it different to the usual vegetable curries. Not far from home so will be going again - soon

Under new management and redecorated since our last visit.. All much improved and a good pub experience. Vegan friendly Too!

The chef was very rude when the burger came with bacon, when asked “why would you add bacon to a veggie burger” they rudely replied saying “the menu states all burgers come with bacon. Refused to make another one unless we paid , also came with onion rings, which is wasnt stated at all- onions are a huge allergen. I paid for the meal and only ate a side of chips. Shocking service...sort your menu out!!! VEGGIE BURGER...NO BACON! Poor service, wouldn’t recommend. The chef needs to remember the door is open and customers can hear him.

Me and my partner came here for a casual meal and were so surprised with how good it was! The best food we’ve had out in a long time, everything so fresh and tasty. Staff really welcoming and friendly too. Will definitely be returning.

I don't know where some of the reviewers ate. We have just a very pleasant meal at the Churchill Inn. The staff were friendly, the food was piping hot and it came very quickly. My scampi was excellent, and the omelettes that were ordered by our party were very good as well. Not many places do omelettes and these were delicious.

the serice here is awful and the food totally unedible we popped in here enroute to weston supoer mare - what a mistake that was the beer is expensive and the food quite franckly the worst we hae eaten in the UK - aoivd at all costs

Great pub with outdoor seating too. Really lovely meal and friendly service. Plenty of choice (not just food, gin too!) and clearly all cooked fresh. Not the cheapest venue but great start to our holiday.

4 of us went to The Churchill at Churchill for lunch on Thursday 27th June 2019. All four of our meals were extremely good and the service was excellent, very different it seems from some of the earlier comments. I would not hesitate to visit this restaurant again.

Called in today for a drink and nibbles. Staff not very friendly and locals quite hostile. Will not be returning. Management needs to be aware of locals not being so friendly to visitors

The food was lovely!! Front of house was a real shame seems they need a course on customer care extremely rude and very uninviting as if the custom is not wanted. Such a shame and for that reason we won't be returning.

I don’t often write reviews ...but....What a fantastic lunch!!! Fresh (definitely not frozen or out of a packet) veg and gravy, crispy potatoes and succulent meat and plenty of it. Congrats to you .. WE WILL BE BACK !!

We visited this place after having a lovey pork roast a few months back. The roast potatoes were so much better than last time but the pork this time round was rolled pork and it wasn’t as nice! The peas and carrots were like out of the microwave Tesco packs and all the veg was cold, if it wasn’t as expansive we wouldn’t of minded but when you pay a lot of money unfortunately it leaves room for criticism.. Pints are roughly £3.80! Overall a disappointing visit!

Nice place for food 10 mins away from Silver parking miss timed lunch did not open until :12:00 Gutted always good welcome, think about 6 people arrive at same time as us think they might have to open earlier.

After several months of being refurbished the Churchill Inn has reopened. Inside os clean and fresh and the food is excellent. Several pubs in the area have become very poor... it's nice to see one that has improved greatly

The wife and me went in here last night for a meal, happy smiley welcome,and very professional. Drinks are well priced and as for the food it was spot on, try the mixed grill, perfection. Also if you like spirits its worth having one or two in the most unusual glass you will ever drink out of. We both enjoyed our meals very much but what made it was the pudding for the wife as she is gluten free she had as she put it an amazing choc cherry cheesecake, thank you all for a lovely experience, also the decor is subtle and nice Booth like seating areas which add to the atmosphere, and to round it of the landlady likes Def Leppard, will see you again

Had a fabulous early supper. The food was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.Good uncomplicated pub fayre using the best ingredients and reasonably priced. The owners have done a marvelous job of bringing this pub back to life. We will certainly be going back.

Went for Sunday lunch, food was really nice but I would not come back here due to the attitude of the staff, absolutely disgusting. Also if you have a little one still in nappies then you will have to change your little ones in front of people eating their food because they have no baby changing facilities.

We’ve just returned from dinner at The Churchill Inn. Having eaten there before, the food has always been very good, but the pub itself had been getting a bit tired. Since the restoration, I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Still great food, really helpful and friendly staff and now a really cosy and comfortable place to be. We’ve been twice in the last week, and will be back again very soon!

As I went past the churchill last week, thought oh it's getting referbished well when I walked through the I was wow till I went to the bar asked for a Guinness the staff didn't know how to do it so she asked other members of staff to fo it after 10 min we were seated when I had my meal the food was disgusting so I would say its same old as before not a good place to go recomend else where

Ok it’s Monday, but it’s my birthday so we’re eating out.

Came in for some food (and to see how the refurb had gone) and we were not disappointed!

Decided to try this pub as we had watch the refurbishment and it looked good. We arrived at the same time as a few others and it was a bit chaotic. But we picked a table and made our food choices. Within a few moments we were told one of our choices had sold out. After several other choices each of which had ‘sold out’ I settled on the cottage pie. We were told there was a bit of a delay of about 15 minutes, which was ok. But this turned into 20, then 30, 45, 50 minutes. When we asked how much longer we were asked what had we ordered and told there was only one cook in the kitchen. We were then told our food was on its way. And yes an hour after ordering our food did arrive. And to be honest the food was very good. But an hours wait is really not acceptable and we don’t be going back.

Food was just terrible in every way possible. Warm prawns. Carbo overload on main. Chilli without rice. We were told was Michelin star chef. Really??

Stopped off for Sunday lunch after a long dog walk and I’m so glad we did! My Sirloin roast beef was thin sliced and cooked to perfection, my partners turkey was moist and delicious, and the sides/trimmings added to the yumminess. They even do gluten free! The staff were super friendly and we can’t wait to come back in the week for pizza!

Came here today for lunch there was a large party ordering roast we were told by a very friendly lady that they don't usually do roast in the week but they could do it for us, well what can I say the meat and veg was all fresh and cooked to perfection and the gravey was to die for.

We needed somewhere to eat that wasn’t just burgers! Stopped here having never been before. Lovely homemade cottage pie, with vegetables it was gorgeous. My husband had ham eggs and chips. His first ever duck eggs and cooked exactly how he likes them, really delicious. Also very good value and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. We will come again.

We have called into The Churchill twice since Russell took over. While the pub doesn't currently look the best, the staff are really welcoming and friendly, and the food was very good. Cooked to order, with enough variety on menu so there is something for everyone. The Sunday roasts are excellent.

Visited yesterday with family and kids, 11 of us. lt is under new management, they have only been there 4 weeks. The Sunday roast was so tasty, we had the large piggy portion plate, which included cauliflower cheese at no extra cost. there was so much meat, lovely roast potatoes, amazing flavour gravy and veg we all left looking like buddha! The staff are so friendly and our waiter told us his own Mother was the chef, so we met her and congratulated her on a wonderful fabulous lunch. You will not be disappointed with Mama's cooking, wine was lovely too and reasonable !

Absolutely lovely roast dinner, big portions and a friendly atmosphere just what the place needed after being taken over!! If I was to make one little little criticism it would be the roast potatoes could be better apart from that it’s a lovely little pub, good variety of food to offer .

Just been down for a family roast dinner and wasn't let down. We had the beef, pork and chicken options which were just amazing. The meals were served to our table with fresh seasonal vegetables and was absolutely fantastic.

Called in on the off chance this pub was old village pub was open. Its been closed for a while, and I was keen to see if new people had taken over.

Telephoned during the morning and reserved a table. Arrived on time, but no table reserved. Bar staff said wait a while and we'll squeeze you in. Suggested to them that as they appeared to be full it would be better for us to leave.

On holiday just called in for lunch. Excellent lunch menu. I had shepherds pie asked if I wanted cheese topping. Hubbie had curry and again asked if extra spice required. Ploughman’s ordered by sister again choice of contents. Very reasonable all freshly prepared

We came in with our friends to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday. The food was incredible. Cooked to perfection and lovely presentation. The staff were amazing, very friendly and attentive to our needs. Our daughter loved the waitress and she can be fussy about people. Will definitely return.

Not been here for a while due to personal reasons so was so looking forward to their usual beautiful carvery. What a HUGE disappointment.

There was no one in the restaurant, the staff did not respond to us calling (which should have been our first clue), the food took forever and it was cold and almost inedible. The pies were rock hard. No recommendations here. Go to The Plough instead.

Outside didn't do justice to the welcome and home cooked food inside. We enjoyed a freshly cooked quality meal at a very affordable price both going up to the airport and coming home from the airport. Come on Enterprise Inns do your bit and help them to get more customers through the door!

Have been to this quaint little pub for the Sunday carvary many times and have never been disappointed, always hot and the meat just falls apart. Poiite and friendly staff.

Travelled around various pubs etc and i can say this churchill inn is the best for sunday carvery . Polite staff and friendly pub . We book in advance as to be sure of table . Midweek we stopped by for faggot peas and mash . They were home made and massive !!!

Good food at a reasonable price. Two parts to the menu - a la carte or 2 for £12.95. I had the 6oz sirloin which melted in the mouth and my wife had meat lasagne with chips. Good size portions. We were here last year on our way to Bristol and enjoyed it so decided to give it a try again and were not disappointed. Needless to say that we will stop off here again in the future. The staff are very pleasant and attentive.

I will stick with the facts. I took my family here for a meal this Sunday evening the first member of staff I dealt with was helpful, I was a bit disappointed with only one cask ale available but had that. I ordered food, the child's pasta was tricolour which we were not told about. I had the sharing platter for one and the chicken wings were the size of a dried date and no chicken on them just skin and bone. The kitchen person just said sorry about that, no offer to substitute or anything. I decided to bring this to the attention of the person behind the bar who looked like he was the publican. I took a chicken wing to show him, his response was ' so what do you want me to do give you another one with no chicken on' I did not bother arguing I paid and left, I think this answer says everything you need to know about this place. They have lost more than my business as I was actually trying the place out before booking a birthday party meal there.

Llamado para una comida y aunque muy ocupados encontraron una mesa. Los tres de nosotros pedimos la misma carne comida y ale tarta. El pastel era casero y sabor encantador. Tenían una buena selección de platos en nuestro menú para la mayoría de los gustos y el personal era muy amable, sin duda volveremos.

Nice food, nice atmosphere and good service. Varied menu that should appeal to most tastes. Nice pint of Doom Bar that was straight from the keg and not gassy or chilled. Price was good for the drink and food that we had.
