Staff where pleasant. Days views of Weston-super-Mare are lovely from here. They serve food, but we didn't eat there. Dartboard , tv a d pool table all there, but plenty of room to sit away from that area if you wish.

Cauliflower Cheese on menu, WAS NOT AVAILABLE!! No apology. 2 X Sunday Roast served, with no knifes & forks. Millie, the blonde haired waitress WAS RUDE. Tried to speak to Manger. Not available. WE ARE NOT TOURISTS. WE ARE LOCAL. We will definitely NOT be going again & will advise friends of the RUDE WAITRESS & not suppling food, which was suppose to be served. Spent near on £40. We made a BIG mistake visiting there. Never again, UNTIL, they serve up, what they are suppose to serve & get more polite staff. Score, lucky to get 1 out of 5. Service 0 stars. I would NOT RECOMMEND SUNDAY LUNCH, especially if you like Cauliflower Cheese, as although on menu, It was NOT SERVED!! NO APOLOGY GIVEN.

This place closed about 5 years ago and now is open under knew management. Absolutely nothing has been improved and it's still the same old fixtures and furniture. We've stayed nearby a few times but this was the first time we went in to Claremont Vaults. It's OK. Lovely views out of the windows over the Channel. It's a pretty average pub. This appears to be a pub of two halves. Downstairs is a noisy , brightly lit music bar which you can hear upstairs where there is a largeish pub area with some faded furniture , decent beer and average pub food. It’s good value and frankly the fact that it was quiet when all the other big places along the strip towards the pier were busy suited us as we wanted a quiet drink. The views over the bay are very good.

I wandered in to this pub after visiting the Lifeboat station at Perbeck. I knew nothing about it, but noticed they did a Carvery, so I had the large £10. Return up for extra as much as you like. This in itself is a nice Carvery touch. The only problem being, I didnt want to return. The choice of meat is indeed very good, and I can't fault the meat in any way. .. However, the Veg. Oh the Veg ! The Roast Potatoes were ok, but nothing special as a Roaster should be. Slightly to long under the heat lamps, perhaps not the pubs fault. But, the Parsnips were coated in some kind of crispy batter, or perhaps just over cooked. The Carrots and Swede ( I think) was out of a Catering tin, or so it seemed. The Worst thing of all was the Stuffing, ( and this should be second only to the Roasters) . The Stuffing was of a Wet consistency. No crunch at all, and pretty tasteless. It was EXTREMELY disappointing. Not much else to say about the food. I wont be rushing back any time soon. The staff were friendly on the whole. Though I did almost have to shout at the woman behind the Bar for service. She seemed far more interested in the Back Bar display than me. I was rescued by another member of staff. On the whole, its OK but certainly NOT ....'The Best ever" .... "Absolutely fantastic " ..... "Really great food" ...... As some reviewers are saying. I had better, cheaper. Sort your Veg out and it might be a better experience. Fantastic views, and nicely decorated.

This is unfortunately one of those pubs where everyone looks at you funny when you walk in, as you are not one of the ‘regulars’. Decor was very dated and the whole place overdue a much needed clean. Fire exit at the rear was blocked by a large chair on wheels covered in Christmas lights. As the final nail in the coffin, the food and drink left much to be desired. Very disappointing and will not be returning for the foreseeable future.

We visited the Claremont Vaults during the Christmas Period for a Carvery. The views are good; just a shame the view is of Weston. The interior decor is very run down, the drinks were overpriced and they don’t accept card. No problem we thought; this legendary carvery will make up for it. Unfortunately not, while there is a large selection of meat (including Lamb and Salted Beef) that was very tasty the vegetables were watery and tasteless (worst than most frozen veg) while some parsnips were still raw in the middle. The icing on the cake however is the gents toilets; which had no soap and no running hot water. What pub serves food yet has nowhere to wash your hands properly after using the toilet…

Went in with a friend at around 8pm. It was dead, a couple in a corner and a few older gents at the bar. Waited around 10mins to be served....there was just no one behind the bar. Eventually was served by the (very rude and huffy) landlady. Not a smile in sight. We ordered a draught beer each and it was almost undrinkable. We decided not to mention it to the landlady given how everything seemed too much effort when we ordered. No music, no atmosphere. If you want my advice go to the terrace pub, it’s next door bar one, down some steps and give this tired, empty pub a miss.

We’ve been to Claremont vaults a few times and it’s always been excellent. Today we had a table with a lovely view over Marine Lake. There is a choice of 6 meats, all are lovely. The roasted parsnips are the best, but go for the smaller ones as the big ones are sometimes a bit hard. Roast potatoes can be a bit hit miss at other places, but never here. The only thing that would make this even better is mashed swede and cauliflower cheese. But hey, you can’t always have everything!!

We visited the Claremont Vaults a couple of weeks ago whilst on a long weekend stay in Weston. We've walked past the pub on a few occasions on previous trips but this is the first time we've been there. It was really nice to find what I would term The Claremont Vaults as a friendly local and it was great to find somewhere with a pool table! The staff were really friendly and the menu was good, it was a shame that we had to go home on Sunday and miss out on their carvery which has been highly recommended by friends. We will definitely be popping in next time we're in Weston. The view's from the vaults are great! We look forward to returning.

I've written before of how good the Claremont Vaults' Sunday carvery is: the service, the reasonable prices, the very generous helpings of lean, well-cooked meat. All of these things are still true, but our third visit revealed a bonus of which I hadn't previously been aware. I have, since my last visit, become a vegetarian. Not, I hasten to add, because of my last visit - in fact, the CV's salt beef was in my list of 'reasons not to become a vegetarian', but I have, so there we are. This time around, I had the nut roast. I didn't have high expectations - nut roasts were the butt of too many jokes during my childhood for me to look forward to my meal with any great enthusiasm. I am pleased to say, it was absolutely lovely! Textured, tasty, well-seasoned and served with an individual boat of vegetarian gravy. Everyone's meat looked lovely, but I didn't feel I'd missed out. Excellent meal, as usual.

The Claremont Vaults offers a fantastic Sunday lunchtime carvery. We visited for the first time a few months back, and enjoyed an exceptional meal. I was nervous about a second visit, in case it was a one-off, lucky treat. It wasn't - today's meal was just as good. They offer a choice a six meats. Helpings are generous. Lamb - good lamb, too - is included in the options. That's unusual in a carvery; lamb is so expensive, I don't know how they make it pay. My highest praise is reserved for the salt beef. Salt beef is brisket that is brined for 7 - 10 days, and then simmered. This produces a tasty, tender meat that is a beautiful deep pink. I feel my Jewish ancestry calling; oy veh - if only all meat tasted this good. The roast potatoes and parsnips are excellent: the veg reasonable. Gravy is (I would say) made with meat juices and very tasty. The horseradish is fresh-tasting and a bit fiery. The vaults isn't perfect - the decor is tired and there's no parking - but service is good, the pricing is great, and the food is excellent.

We went the Claremont Vaults for Easter Sunday lunch, with my in-laws, and our fourteen year old son and twelve year old daughter. My wife and I used to go to the Claremont often, about twenty years ago. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's under new management and I thought I wouldn't recognise the place. I did - it looks just the same. To call the decor unpretentious is to understate the case; it's tired, it's lived in, it is not up-to-date, modern, or corporate. The family that run it don't wear uniforms. Nobody greets you or asks you 'what can I get you today, guys?'. It is like coming out of a storm into a safe place, where friendly, unpretentious people pass the time of day with you while you queue for food. And my, what food! I had salt beef that sang on the palate; rich, deep umami flavours that danced across the palate and elicited involuntary murmurs of delight. I also had piles of sweet, pink lamb that melted on the tongue. There was also pork, beef, turkey and gammon - you could have up to three meats. For £10 you can recharge your plate ad-hoc, but as my job doesn't involve any physical effort, I would never need to do that: the 'regular' plate I was given defeated me at around two thirds. Fantastic as the meat is, the roasted parsnips are the real star of the show. Buttery, flour-coated exemplars of root vegetable royalty, their sweet flavours enticed and delighted. There are also excellent roast and new potatoes, frozen mixed veg and yorkshires, and fresh cauli, broccoli and savoy cabbage. Gravy and accompaniments were good, too. There are two sittings, and we did have to be moved on during coffees to make room for the next party, but we had been given a solid hour and a half to enjoy our excellent food. Puddings are a selection of ice creams and steamed puddings, which went down well with those who could accommodate them: I can't comment because I was done for by that point. It's tempting to give a poor review just so I can get a table next time I visit: if people find out how great the food is here, and how good the value is, it will be booked solid until the end of time.

First alarm for me......extensive choice of mains.....second alarm, wanted something with salad, but with a rocket allergy i was told all salad is pre bgged so eat salad with rocket .third alarm my pint of lime and soda contained the pouring spout from the lime bottle. The waiter was very apologetic, and it was replaced. I ordered spicy mince with rice and tortillas and guacamole and sour cream. Arrived with half plate rice and half plate mince few broken tortilla on the top and teaspoon each sour cream and shop bought guacamole.... Not spicy, more like mince and gravy. The other issue was the couple shouting a conversation across the restaurant from the fire by the bar to another couple sat at the far end of the restaurant.... and no staff asked them to stop. Hence, despite the fact I am told the food is good here, I have been twice in the last few months and not convinced. Not co.ing back....want to eat food better that I cook, not ping food. But that waiter is amazing!

We popped in for lunch, sadly the kitchen was being refurbished BUT, when we said oh dear, and could he recommend somewhere and also be able to park the car, he said, no problem, just leave the car here and made various alternative suggestions. We went round town, had some lunch and of course went back for a lovely gin at about 3:00. Great old fashioned service.
