Visited The Churchill with family, unsure what to expect here, greeted by lovely lady who made us all feel welcome and homely, this set the atmosphere off too how the rest of the trip was going to go. Smallish menu packed with country pub favourites, smaller dishes and quality specials board. This is a proper country pub! All the dishes cooked in house with that homemade feel, not the standard run of the mill (chain pub) menus. Ordered a potato and leak soup for starters, with garlic cheesy bread. Soup was thick, flavourful, almost mash potato but loosened with cream, served with fresh bread and butter really good dish for a winters day, coupled with a thick loaf of cheesy garlic bread, again freshly made not straight out a freezer. Ordered the beef chilli for main - huge portion, again home made chilli, really nice depth of flavour across the dish. Chilli had nice array of veg, not just the standard meat and some seasonings. Plenty of onion, kidney beans, chickpea, celery, mushroom, tomatoes and more. Real filling dish with side of rice, fresh salad and slice of garlic bread. Family also ordered - omelette, hunters chicken, and gammon everyone’s plate was full with fresh produce and good presentation on the plate. I’d like to thank the staff here for being attentive and really helpful and welcoming. Really brings country pub feel to the visit! If it’s country pub, with cosy seating, good quality homemade food and feeling welcome this place is worth the visit!! Overall will score this visit a solid 8/10! Will definitely return and for adult family of 5 the bill was very reasonable! Well done to the team at The Churchill Inn

Been here a few times the staff are lovely and cant do enough for you. The place/food do not disappoint. Had jacket potatoe to eat hubby had chilli and cheese, me beans and cheese, these were not sm potatoes and full of filling the dog was even given a treat. Hubby had a local beer which was great I had 2 cups of tea which hit the spot. We will be popping in again. Thankyou

We had organised a group Christmas meal for 14 and the quality and presentation of the meals was outstanding the 2 ladies serving could not have been more helpful. I had not visited the Churchill for many years and based on this experience I will be certainly be returning soon. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Amazing! Fresh, hot and homemade. After spending 3 days visiting family and eating franchised food it was so good to eat some homemade food, what a difference. Keep up the good work and individual character. Well done.

We arrived at 3.10 and they were busy but accommodated our table of 4 for Sunday lunch. Fantastic service. The roast dinner was delicious. The photo doesn't do it justice. The parsnip crisps were so tasty.

There were 8 of us we all had a lovely meal all different but mine was Liver and onions which was delicious, the service was brilliant considering 2 staff did not show no complaints whatsoever. Thank you. ⭐️ To say what we had is not choices given below.

Possibly the best roast in the Bristol area! Outstanding quality and generous portions, with so many trimmings it was almost like Christmas dinner. Great staff, lots of parking and some excellent walks nearby make The Churchill Inn the perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon out in the countryside, a short drive from the city. We can’t wait to return!

Such a great roast! The parsnip crisps were a delight. I got two meats pork and turkey, both fantastic, especially loved the turkey which went well with a side of red cabbage. Great service, amazing food!

3rd time visiting for a family birthday and got to say another outstanding meal. Food for children and adults was fantastic yet again. Must recommend the corned beef pie which was amazing !!! ( but get in quick before they sell out). Could not fault the food or the brilliant very friendly service by the staff. Will be visiting again very soon. Keep up the great work !!!!

Popped in tonight on the way back from Bristol airport having been picked up by my daughter. The staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was 5* prices were excellent. Best part of the visit was being introduced to Rambo the wonderful setter dog they have. Would recommend to anyone, thank you. Will deffo be back xx

Unfortunately this is not a good review, we popped in tonight for some food and a drink The building was very nice and rustic with a good selection of reasonably priced drinks however when it comes to the food I would stay well away from this place, I had a chicken burger which was obviously in the cheapest supermarket white bun and was the most pathetic thing you have ever seen and I had to pay £13 for the privilege, it was tasteless and certainly not worth the price, my partner had a pizza and I’m 99% sure it was a frozen pizza with extra cheese which was certainly not worth the £9 they were charging I understand you have to make a profit but when the sum total of your ingredients is £2 per meal you can’t charge £13 it’s daylight robbery I definitely won’t be eating here again and I suggest everyone else do the same It’s a reasonable place to stop for a drink but definitely avoid the food it’s disappointing and over priced id go to any of the other local pubs over this one

This really is a great place to kick back relax and enjoy the food and drink. I had a homemade burger and chips with salad and onion rings. Everything was cooked correctly and portion size was bang on. Highly recommended.

We've never been here before. We just popped in on the off chance of getting a decent meal after picking up relatives at Bristol airport . Yes, it was OK. The staff were very friendly and the food came out hot.

We recently held our mother’s wake at The Churchill Inn. Can’t speak highly enough of the whole team. The lady we made arrangements with was so very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely, well priced and plenty of it. A lovely friendly welcoming pub, highly recommended.

Excellent Food - Quality and Value for Money Visited on a not too busy Wednesday evening - Party of 8 people - we ate a selection of meals from the menu and specials board. Nobody was disappointed with what they chose, lovely ingredients, well cooked and tasty, also well presented and substantial enough for the price paid. I chose the Rump Steak Burger 🍔 with all the trimmings from the Specials Board for £16, which was a great tasty handful and very enjoyable. Well looked after by all the members of the staff, who were more than happy to help and very accommodating to our needs. More than happy to recommend and visit again for food :0)

First but not last! I have past The Chuchill inn countless times over the years but never paid a visit until this week. Living in Downend north Bristol it's not on my door step these days. So having paid a visit to Cadbury garden centre at Congsbury I took the short trip there to have lunch. Arriving circa12.15am the good sized car park already had spaces taken .Once inside we (My wife and i)we're greeted warmly by I think is the landlord Adam .we sat down and the service was prompt efficient. As we received are meal the place began to fill up the well arranged dining tables .My wife and myself decided on a cheese and ham omelette which comes with chips and a small salad.Turns out we made a great decision. The omelettes were delightful! Made with real ham and of course Cheddar cheese! and as an extra treat home grown free range eggs.With proper chips and a lovely salad topped with cress and a chunk of pineapple are lunch turned out to be the best we have had at pub for a long time .The cooking was done by Adams mum with her keeping an eye on her grandchild who kept the guests amused. So three generations of service then? lovely. The Chuchill inn is a good old fashioned pub with no ares and graces just very good quality service. I am sure it won't be long before I return safe in the knowledge I will receive a warm welcome and a lovely dining experience. Thanks Adam!!

Sunday lunch consisted of pre cooked reheated food. Microwaved vegetables. Reminded me of Birds Eye dinner for one.

Popped in at midday on a Sunday on the off chance without booking on the way to Bristol International Airport and glad we did. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and managed to fit us in even though they had several bookings for Sunday Lunch. They needed the table by 1pm which gave us time to eat as we had a check-in to get to! Ordered the Roast. Excellent food with a variety of vegetables complete with additional portions of vegetables as a side included. Will certainly eat here again when flying out of Bristol. Update 13th April 2024: Stopped off here again after flying into Bristol Airport as we knew from previous experience that the food was good. We're weren't disappointed! Good selection on the menu with a Specials Board for additional choices. Both decided on the Beef and Stilton Pie from the Specials board. They came in their own individual dish with a crispy pastry crust on top, piping hot with chips, peas, and a gravy boat to share. The meat was really tender, and you could certainly taste the stilton. Again, the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Can recommend this Inn, especially if you're flying in or out of Bristol Airport as it is approx 10 mins and 6 miles away. We will be back!

First visit here. Outside is having some work done - don't be put off by the appearance! We had a lovely warm welcome, with the offer of treats and cuddles for Bonnie, our Labrador. The aroma from the kitchen and the dinners coming out looked fantastic. We already had dinner cooking at home, so decided to return in the week to sample the food for ourselves. The atmosphere was great, layout created space for different sized groups, and the car parking was sufficient, with overflow to the rear. A lovely pub! I wonder if they do pub stopovers for Motorhomes and campervans? If so, they will definitely be on our list 👍

Had a fantastic lunch today with great service, it made me feel glad that I drove past the Churchill and had true value with excellent food at the Star at Star.

This pub sells fantastic home cooked food. There is a specials board and general menu. Beautifully cooked and well presented, full table service. The staff are very courteous and helpful, superb experience.

We stopped here instead of the Stag & Hounds. Best decision we made. The pub is really nice and spotlessly clean. The staff could not do enough for us. The food itself was very well presented and tasted lovely. Would highly recommend this pub.

Stopped on the way back from Bristol Airport & was only after a quick snack. We were greeted by a friendly & warm atmosphere and the owners we’re ok with us sharing a meal. Will definitely be back. Thanks.

The food was of a very high standard and the service was very good. Our dogs were given water and treats. Really very pleasant lunch we live too far away to use regularly but would without doubt use again when we are in the area

What a gorgeous find today. Wonderful welcoming pub and the homemade cooked food dishes we had were all amazing. Ie Beef Chilli, Corned beef pie and cottage pie. Highly recommend eating here xx

I had a ploughman's here and it was like every ingredient had leapt from the garden straight onto the plate. So fresh, so good and so much too! Well worth stopping here. Great friendly service too, good atmosphere and easy, spacious parking.

We were made welcome the moment we entered, shown to a table and given all the info we needed. There were lots of options both on the menu and the specials board for vegetarians and the food came in good time too! The plates were full and spectacular! Again, service was attentive and without fault. Our husky was made quite happy as well with water, a cuddle and a treat. What an amazing pub with sizeable parking by side.

Dropped my son at airport found this beautiful pub quite by chance. We are from Swansea so popped in for Sunday roast before the drive back. Staff dispute being busy were absolutely lovely. My hubby ordered beef I had vegetarian option Sunday roasts. I have travelled all over u.k from outer Hebrides to lands end and never had such a amazing beautiful Sunday roast. Perfectly cooked. The presentation was outstanding I wish I lived closer! Thank you staff and chief for beautiful meal. They also have beautiful beer garden and huge car park. If your ever around pop in you won't be disappointed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A simple ham eggs and chips but the ham was anything but simple: sweet, juicy, tender and a lot of it.

They coped really well a large party of older people.

Amazing Sunday roast! We loved the Ghost Roast option - a vegan roast where, instead of a nut roast or similar, you are given delicious vegetables served in a variety of ways. Roasted peppers, onions and mushrooms in a lovely yorkshire pudding, mashed potato, mashed swede, roasted squash, plus the traditional roasties, green veg and stuffing. The turkey roast was also delicious and moist. Excellent final touch of parsnip crisps on top of all roasts. Great home made puddings, and lovely polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We stopped for lunch on the way back from Bristol,the pub was very nice inside,the chap serving was extremely friendly and served us very well, the food was lovley, we all enjoyed it veryuch and the rest of the staff were very friendly.

Nice cosy pub, the management seems to be able helpful and willing to host functions.

I enjoyed a pint of Guinness there and a packet of beef crisps. I would recommend sitting outside if you can in the summer 🌞 I plan on trying the food there too

one hour for diner ,beef was processed meat .eat and mess had no fruit just sauce o top, the ice cream came in chipped cup and the staff helpfull at all the was very rude

Amazing!!!! We were a party of 11 for a Sunday afternoon booking. Most of us had 3 courses and all dishes were well presented, high quality & delicious! The gluten free roast was amazing, the gravy & Yorkshire were perfect - as was the chocolate fudge cake! Great service & a really friendly welcome. We will definitely be returning!

This was the third pub that we visited on a Monday as most pubs now do not serve food in the early part of the week. They are dog friendly and we were seated in a comfortable part of the pub and not crowded in a grotty corner with other dog owners. I did not find a disability ramp but there is only one small step so no worries. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful which is far more common in this part of the country than others. Food was a delight, very appealing to the eye and tasty. The first time we visited I ordered the plaice with a salad. Expecting the usual British interpretation of a piece each of lettuce, tomato and cucumber but was most surprised when it arrived and there were nine different items in the salad; most wholesome and refreshing. It was so good we visited several times and it was consistently good. An important tip is to visit the quite comprehensive specials board as the menu has only limited basic fare. The home made pies are recommended.

First time going into the churchhill Inn for a very long time we was very pleased with the Sunday roast it was out standing well persntive and the service was very good two well worth the money the pudding was very large just like the dinner will definitely go back again

Turned up early as we were looking for a bite before our flight @ Bristol airport. Staff were very friendly, gave us a warm welcome and we had real good food. Plenty of food and real high standard… pub grub served us better than some restaurants…
