The best restaurants in Mendip South West

Visiting on holiday we fancied a curry and was a decision between two in the town , we chose here as it looked nicer from the outside , we are so glad we did , the food was delicious and the staff were incredibly welcoming , very friendly and attentive , we will definitely be back , thankyou :)

I have visited wells many times. With friends and family and alone. Always an enjoyable walk and the swans ringing the bell for food was a great hit with the children. Grace the female Swan is sitting on eggs so will be back soon to see the cygnets and the two teenagers who are reluctant to move on and leave their mom. I can't remember the males name gilbert ? Gideon? He is obviously very protective of his lovely mate. Lovely place for a walk again. Update 7 beautiful cygnets await your visit

Lovely ambience, good coffee and great food (big portions!). The staff are great, heartily recommend!

Offers a better selection than my local Sainsbury's worth travelling a bit longer for. Friendly staff, large store, wide aisles.

Astonishingly bad! Pre-ordered a group meal for delivery well in advance (the day before it was required and paid upfront). £82 for a meal for 3, so pricey. It didn’t arrive. Chased by phone - it eventually turned up 40 minutes late and was all but inedible bar the poppadoms. Food was tepid, dried up, and meat dishes were so chewy you couldn’t eat them, rice was clumpy, naans limp and sag agloo tasted heavily of smoke. Dreadful. Called to complain. Manager agreed a partial refund which I’ve never seen despite chasing up, and my email remains unanswered. Bad enough the evening with friends was totally ruined but to not even follow up with an agreed refund is appalling. Don’t waste your money, eat elsewhere.

Friendly service and value for money

Very friendly and attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our family meal in celebration of parents 65th Wedding anniversary. Staff were very kind, thoughtful and helpful throughout.

Wow called in while walking the dog staying in the area, garlic mushrooms to start were lovely and the seafood platter excellent value lovely staff highly recommended

Room was lovely but green LED in the room was so bright it made sleeping difficult

Food was great but stated all kebabs came with salad so my husband was disappointed and moaned about it enough he made me write this review Hes so upset, please send a salad next time
