Beautifully bucolic! Great food, lovely room, very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely quiet location, surrounded by handsome Somerset countryside. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff, who knew who we were and seemed genuinely happy to see us. We were shown to our lovely room (room one), which was a good size, with a really big and comfy bed and a huge en-suite complete with free standing bath and separate shower. Then we enjoyed an excellent roast dinner, superbly cooked and accompanied by a decent glass of red. Most convivial, ahead of a sound night's sleep.

Just had a great stay at the Oakhill Inn. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was very good. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere with real fires and cosy, comfortable rooms.

We went for an excellent Mother’s Day Sunday lunch. A cut above, well cooked, well presented. Not cheap, but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

I would recommend this hotel to all looking to stay in this part of the country. I stayed here for business for 2 days and the room was lovely and spacious and the food in the pub part downstairs was exquisite. There is parking directly outside the hotel at the front or they have a car park literally a minute walk down the road to park. I would definitely look to stay there again when my work takes me to this part

Highly recommend this pub, stayed overnight for a business trip and couldn’t be happier. A warm welcome on arrival, large clean and comfortable room, the food was fantastic and the staff very friendly, would definitely return again.

Came for mothers day lunch. Food was tasty and fresh, but portions were not decent sized for the price you pay! £20 for a roast beef dinner, and most adults in our party left feeling hungry. Children's meals were also ridiculously small. The kids lamb was a few bits of meat scraped off a leg, and my daughter ate her meal within seconds. Kids burger was literally miniature. Tasty, but sort out your portion sizes, and don't make people feel they have been short changed, for your maximum profit.

We had the best nights stay in this lovely pub. Booked last minute and got a great welcome. The room was roomy with a comfy bed. We had a delicious, freshly cooked meal in the busy bar which had a lovely atmosphere. We will be back and recommend it to everyone!

Beautiful home made celeriac soup, and ham hock terrine. Both dishes plentiful and very flavourful. Pheasant and steak for mains and chef quickly changed the veggies for us as i didn't like two of them. Puddings to die for.... tart and berries and hot sauce..... delicious. Lovely, friendly atmosphere, with welcoming bar staff. The sofas could be more comfy and are quite low.

Very friendly and buzzy pub with rooms, we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed an excellent meal on our first night. Rooms comfortable and excellent local ales in the busy bar. Good choice of food for breakfast.

We stayed over night on route to travelling back home from Devon. Just what we needed. A friendly welcome, comfy bed and fab shower. A tasty meal - onion rings to die for!!! And a cooked breakfast which to be honest, is the best we have ever had ! Shane we didn’t find their car park !! Derrr! Thank you for our lovely stay.

Stayed here just for one night en-route to Devon. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I had a lovely room with a bathroom which had a roll top bath in the centre. It was so nice to relax in the bath after several hours driving. I was travelling with my cocker spaniel and she was also made to feel very welcome. Dinner was very nice, I had a pizza with feta, spinach etc, in the morning, I had a vegetarian breakfast which was also excellent. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it as a very comfortable and welcoming Inn.

We had the roast dinner and for my fussy eater daughter they catered for her by cooking a sausage instead of a chicken burger! Service was efficient and friendly. The roast was lovely, great meat and nicely cooked veg and seasonal vegetables. Everything was very well done and very enjoyable.

We visited The Oakhill for Dinner on Saturday and the Belly Pork was outstanding. Wayne has brought the Inn to a fantastic standard. I would also praise Amma and Jasmine for their service with a smile!

We booked a table here for Sunday lunch because of the good reviews, and we were not disappointed. We started with a sharing platter, my Daughter then had a Beefburger and her partner the Roast belly pork. I had Roast beef and my Granddaughter had fish, chips & peas. My meal was delicious, the beef lovely & tender, as I believe was the Pork. I was too full for dessert but the others had banoffee cookie dough with ice cream. Everything was yummy and we all enjoyed our meals. One of the best Sunday Roasts I've had and would certainly recommend. The staff were lovely too and very attentive.

We found the Inn by off chance looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were very warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and our lunch was excellent. He had an enormous and delicious Pizza, and I had the bean burger with all the trimmings - the onion rings were perfect and crispy. No difficulty with veggie choices from the lunch menu - it was great to have a real choice and not have to have the only veggie option. A great place to lunch and we felt really at home. As an independent film maker I am normally travelling across the UK and Europe and have stayed in some great places. The Oakhill Inn is one of them! It is superb! After a long shoot in Wells, Somerset I was pretty tired. Check in was swift and very friendly and the room was warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.Breakfast was included in my deal and it did not disappoint it was excellent. Despite COVID and the masks - the team really did go the extra mile to ensure that my stay was comfortable. Please support them and pay them a visit you won't be disappointed. Have been to the Oakhill Inn numerous times to eat and drink. Fantastic service and lovely food, would recommend!

We have been really well looked after by the friendly and very helpful staff. Myself my son & my dog stayed in room one. The bed was the comfiest hotel bed ever. The freestanding bath was deep and hot. We slept so well and had a wonderful breakfast. Plus the pizzas for supper were delicious too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We could not recommend this place enough. Very friendly staff and locals. Excellent food. A lovely treed courtyard for outside eating, and it looked like plenty of space inside too. We had squid, cured meats, quinoa burger and sirloin steak - all very tasty, and we'd recommend. And great wine too. We wouldn't have changed a thing.
