Caters very well for children & adults alike. Food, service and atmosphere very good. Worth a repeat visit.

Just had a really lovely Mother's Day meal at The Bear. Delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. Our experience was made even better with excellent service from Chloe. Very attentive, had a giggle with us and went the extra mile with the pudding. Thanks Chloe, we'll be back.

Lovely modern but classic dining room, staff very welcoming. Layout of furniture and space to move was excellent as were a party including those with sight and mobility issues and we had no problems. Our food was excellent and hot, the plates were hot and we all enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful.

Hayley is a superb representative for your company, she greeted us with a smile was very polite professional throughout our time at the restaurant would definitely recommend and return again.

Came for Sunday lunch, I’m a regular here and the food is always top knotch. Pub is presented lovely and the customer service is fantastic. Hayley our waitress is always super friendly and happy to help. Makes a difference having a smiley friendly presence.

Excellent Menu. Excellent Service although very busy Hayley went beyond 100% service attending to the Clientele 100% recommend The Bear.

I was a little disappointed to discover our room was quite a distance from the main hotel and this was not stated on the booking. I was staying on my own with my young daughter and I felt quite unsafe being put in a flat across the road from the hotel. The room was clean and serviceable but very dated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely and very reasonably priced. I would consider staying again if we could be nearer the main hotel.

Christmas dinner here was so perfect. Absolutely delicious food that everyone enjoyed. Great hosting from all the staff- they were so cheerful and welcoming. It was easy to park, booking was so straightforward and lots of lovely details like crackers, loads of gravy and perfectly chilled Prosecco. Have been back recently and the whole experience was just as lovely!

Wasn’t here to long ago i think I had a waitress called Cerys she was vey lovely girl and funny bless her. Food was astonishing and atmosphere was very welcoming

Bayleigh, Laura and Cerys looked after us extremely well. Attention to detail, friendliness and service was excellent.

There were 2 people serving, one in the bar, one in the restaurant. The lady in the bar was busy playing with the till and even though there was a sign saying wait to be seated, the lady in the restaurant was ignoring us . We sat in the Bar and ordered food. The food was poor. Undercooked chips, over cooked garlic bread and onion rings. The Fish and chips had a piece of plastic wrapper in it. The polite server offered us another meal but the food was so poor we accepted a refund. We will not visit again and we will eat in Clarks Village next time we visit the area

My partners halloumi skewer was barely cooked and had to be sent back. The replacement that wa sent was slightly better but still under cooked. My vegetarian Sunday roast was ok but really not worth the money. You can get much better food at Wetherspoons. The staff however were friendly and helpful in handling the complaint, knocking the halloumi dish off the bill and offering a complimentary dessert. We don’t live in the area so would be unlikely to return in any case, but this place has potential to be a lot better.

We came in for a couple drinks before going shopping in Clark’s, the place has a lovely atmosphere and Bayleigh made sure we had our drinks as quick as possible. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at The Bear Inn five weeks ago, as we are not local, and live in Elstree Hertfordshire. All the staff are excellent, so we have returned for another mini break. From Laura to Megan & Bayleigh it’s an exemplary team effort and they all go above and beyond to make your stay A1. The service at dinner this evening was very efficient. Many thanks Jakki Sidney

Lovely setting, however we had dirty cutlery from the drawer. We were served our cups of tea with a dirty cup and tea spoon, when I pointed this out the server did not apologise or acknowledge it, she snatched it from us and walked away. She made me feel quite uncomfortable. Our food was nice, but we felt the portions were small (gammon was the size of a small pork chop) and food was a bit cold. We understand that the kitchen was closing at 3 and perhaps they were a little understaffed, but would not expect dirty utensils and poor service. Overall we would be put off purchasing food there again.

Visited with family. Great food and service. Will definitely return.

You have a great venue which is comfortable and a nice place to be and the service was very good in particular the more mature server who was most helpful. The food was very good although you appear to have Gluten free items which are not shown on your Gluten Free menu so this needs looking at, overall very good and we will return

Stayed a number of times..this visit stayed in room 22 blossom cottage. All very good only complain the hot water not working in the handbasin! heating not on either but to be honest it did not matter.. Food was excellent 😋and so was one particular staff ..very helpful and jolly! which makes such a difference in the world today! 😊

We parked here back in July 24 to go swimming at Green Bank. Returned to the car decided to stay and have food.We mentioned the parking & explained that we had paid and was told they would sort it out. I’ve ended up being fined £170 for not paying for parking which I did. Tried to get help from staff in the Bear Inn but that was a waste of time. Not the 1st time this has happened from what friends have said. We are locals & have not gone back there since. The food wasn’t worth it. It’s all microwaved food same as the Market House Glastonbury.

Good menu choice, comfortable and clean restaurant and the staff made us very welcome. Food quality and presentation requires attention. Could be better.

I stayed here during my first visit to Street. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Both the evening and morning staff spent time chatting to me and gave me tips where to visit. As a lone female traveller, this was much appreciated. The bedroom was a decent size, and I didn't hear any noise from the other guests. The only tiny negative I have is that the toilet paper was poor quality, compared to everything else. A big plus side for me is that they used Dove products in the bathroom and offered coffee bags, which I now prefer! I took a star off for food, as I found the portion size was small for the price. I highly recommend, and looking forward to returning soon!

We Stayed here in February half term with our 2 younger children. I Wasn't sure what to expect from a £60 night but was instantly impressed with the style of the pub and the very friendly staff. The pub is situated in a fantastic location for the high street. We arrived late so I can't comment on the food but from what I saw it looked great. We stayed in one of the cottages which were perfect in size,could use a tiny bit of modernization in the bathroom etc but that's if I'm being picky. All in all a great place to stay for the price. Would definitely visit again

Can’t comment on food/pub just on room stay. When booking you’re not told your room is in an old decrepit building down the street. The room was disgusting Wallpaper falling off ceiling. Blood drips down wall. Bathroom like not had a proper clean in years. Toilet seat falling off couldn’t touch light pull in bathroom without using tissue as filthy carpet sticky no bulb in lamp next to bed. Windows didn’t shut properly net on window filthy and ripped and noise from every other room like the people actually in same room as could hear everything!! Complained to Marston’s and still not had reply from January.

Great food in a pleasant, spacious pub with quality furnishings. Well priced, set menu was a bargain. Hayley was lovely, providing sevice with lots of smiles and laughs. Large beer garden and clean facilities.

Visited The Bear this afternoon. Was able to speak to the Chef Laura whilst at the Bar who talked me into the Steak Sandwich with the New Truffle Mayo. Cooked to perfection. My friend was also so impressed with her choice from the new Menu. Served by Chloe who was so helpful. Always have the best experience when visiting the Bear, but the Food this time was outstanding!

Visiting the shopping village we decided to book lunch online, which was very easy. 3 people had had 2 carveries and 2 starters. Service was prompt and professional. Food quality was good.
