After running this pub for a couple or years in the early 90s its great to see it open and doing well. Best thing about it is the locals, best of luck

Sunday lunch was delicious and the staff were very friendly. The pub had a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

The Globe has recently re-opend after being closed for about a year. It is my local pub. The lady behind the bar was 'brusque'. The beers are OK but not the local Cheddar Ales anymore. The formula is similar, ie local pub with food. Regrettably the Sunday Lunch was very average. My pork was tough and stringy and the vegtables had been overboiled. On the other hand my son's beef was good. I hope they get it together soon. Kindly note that the website represents the pub before it changed management and they as yet have no phone or WiFi. Popped in for a couple of drinks on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a very popular spot and in a nice location overlooking a green. Wines a little bit on the pricey side but nice location and excellent service. Will return.

Tucked away down a side street in Wells but a nice find. The outdoor seating area could do with some TLC, but otherwise a very nice pub with friendly staff.

Very nice place, lovely friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. Lovely guy put the QR code on my phone so we would get £10 off our meal. The fish and chips were delicious thankyou.

Went on the re-opening night. Hosts, Chris and Melissa, very welcoming. It will be a month before the food is fully up and running, but good luck to the new guys.

Bright and cheerful with a log fire and good lighting the pub is great as is the food but the outstanding feature of the Inn is the staff. Helpful and cheerful and will go further than most to give good service with a cheerful smile. Well done ladies you were outstanding today (28 April)

Be AWARE, all the information on Google and TripAdvisor is now inaccurate. This pub CLOSED in late November 2023. So, all reviews are now irrelevant. If it opens again, base your intentions on 2024 reviews and information about food, beer, service etc.

Nice pub, nice atmosphere, good beer, friendly staff.

Great food with a friendly host. Portions are huge and good value for money. We dined on a wet Wednesday evening and most tables were occupied so I’d recommend booking ahead. Husband had pork belly starter which was excellent. We both had the globe burger as our mains which was outstanding. We will definitely return here when we are back in the area.

Sunday Roast was fabulous, tender beef, fresh veg perfect. nice pinot Grigot excellent Waitresses and Bar Staff, couldnt do enough for us. love the oldie worldie Pub. Beer excellent too. Thankyou. Janet Taylor, Wells

Excellent Sunday lunch. A lovely pub too. We called for a drink on the Saturday, enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we booked for Sunday lunch the following day. Very friendly staff and a good selection of local beers. Being located down a side street we only found it by chance and so glad we did.

This venue was booked as a surprise when googling the pub i was really worried about the wording best pub for dogs, not being a doggy person was i little concerned. However our good double room was warm cosy and spotless. With lovely toiletries. Nice bedding. We booked dinner bed and breakfast the evening meal although pub food was lovely and tasty. The more mature lady serving was fantastic so happy to pay the service charge. Have not given a 5 as the pillows were so soft and flat. My sleep was not great. And breakfast was more style over substance. Over cooked scrambled eggs and other breakfast was cold

A really nice Roast. We hadn't booked but they fitted us in at short notice. Would recommend a visit here. Staff and food all good.

Wonderful inn with fresh vegetables and super meals. Very reasonable prices in Wells. The cathedral is a must see.

Lovely little pub just around the corner from St Cuthberts so out of the hustle and bustle of the nearby high street. Food was tasty and wholesome and value for money. We both had steak pie. It was full of chunky steak but the pastry was a bit soggy. Service was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pub wasn't too busy for a Friday night and there was a separate dining room. We asked to eat in the bar so we could soak up the atmosphere. Toilets appeared to be a very recent refurb, modern and clean. Definitely worth calling in for a visit.

Every trip we make to Wells, we make sure we have one or two meals at The Globe. The staff are efficient and the quality of the food is excellent. The snug area is perfect for entertaining larger groups and dogs.

Really lovely pub, wonderful service by the lady that served us, I think she was the landlady (blond, so friendly and helpful) loved the snacking pickles! Really nice pub, didn't eat but the food looked amazing!

A lovely pub that served us well on a sunny afternoon in their beer garden. Food is served at lunchtime and evening but we didn’t eat so can’t comment.

Probably a nice pub. However, I and my wife walked in and were immediately asked to leave because they had a private party. I strongly suggest to the owners (apparently Mandy & Dan), that if such is the case, you remove the sign outside saying welcome. Thankfully, the City Arms just around the corner, was genuinely welcoming, and made up for the bitter taste of the experience at the Globe.

Worth finding, very relaxing and has a nice garden

We have been here several times while on holiday, lovely pub and atmosphere. We sat outside, lovely seating area and there is a garden out back too. We didnt eat here but the food coming out to others looked delicious. The service was brilliant, the lady serving even lent me a pen to write a postcard. Lovely place to stop..

We stopped by on sunday before going on a little hot fuzz tour, the weather was kind to us so we were able to sit outside in their little garden. the inside is a beautiful quirky layout pub with a new-ish garden with some music. there were loads of dogs which we love and made our day! the place was clearly busy but the service was still efficient and lovely. We of course went for a roast with some extra cauliflower and cheese which turned out to be MASSIVE. the meat was tender and yummy and the roasties nice and fluffy but the real star here is the gravy! I don't want to say it but it might have been the best gravy I've ever had! The food took a while to arrive but was definitely worth the wait! I'd absolutely recommend everyone to go here!

We came for Sunday roast with family including someone who is wheelchair-bound and a dog. The staff adapted to our requirements (adding in an extra person and changing the seating at short notice) and we had a very enjoyable roast dinner. I had the pork which was delicious. The portion sizes are good and the price reasonable. One point which stops this from being 5 start is the roast potatoes. Most were very tastythough there are one or two that were undercooked. The service given by the staff was impeccable and the whole experience was lovely.

WELLS Holiday (10-05-23) Went in and got 2 Pints of real ale, found a seat and enjoyed the atmosphere, not a big place but was a fun place, only had one but Recommend this for a more of a local pub feel.

Popped in Sunday lunch hoping for a roast although we hadn't booked. Managed to fit us in for a superbly cooked lunch, great staff. Thank you.

Great welcome right from the start. Wide choice of beers etc and a well priced menu. We both had burgers ( one with cheese and bacon, one with stilton) served with fries, salad and coleslaw. Food on other tables looked just as good. This place got busy so be prepared to wait for food, it will be worth it. Our next visit will probably be to try the Sunday roast. For that they recommend booking. This is definitely one to go back to.

I really wish I'd taken the time to explore this place better. The photos here suggest it has a beautiful beer garden which I totally missed out on (although it was raining). Food was great and staff were friendly.

Asked for peach Archers with Lemonade & vodka & Coke.. Guy serving put the coke in with Archers. In Fairness he gave us a replacement drink..So 2nd time to the bar we go. Peach Archers with Lemonade & Vodka & coke... he got it WRONG again..I said don't worry about it. So 3rd time to the bar I go. Peach Archers with Lemonade & Vodka & Coke.. Guy puts the Archers in one glass and Vodka in the other. I said Lemonade with the Archers. Now the blood drain from his face....He's not sure which is which.... Guess WHAT???? As a family with a fussy teenager and younger child, we choose the Globe as it looked a family friendly pub with tables nicely spaced apart. We arrived at noon and were made very welcome by the staff, the menu is small but the choice is good including starters, main and children's meals. Our food came from the kitchen hot, nicely presented with salad and great homemade chips, the burger bun, the toasties, were delicious and the chicken burgers were also homemade. We would thoroughly recommend The Globe as a comfortable, friendly pub with excellent food.

This is a lovely pub with a friendly atmosphere and we were expecting a good meal in the restaurant (there are tables to eat at in the bar area and a restaurant to the rear. I am a dog fan, but was surprised to see a fair few dogs in the restaurant area, and of course not all were behaving. Food was good but not a great menu choice. Would give it a second chance/visit if we went to Wells again though.

Called in the off-chance for Sunday lunch, although they were busy they were able to squeeze us in. Food was perfect, not a scrap left. Looking forward to a return visit

The Globe has always been our favourite when we come to Norfolk, at least 4 times a year but not yesterday when on a wet and chill day, the interior was almost as cold, no fire or heating. I Consider £26 for one pint of beer, 1 large wine and 2 packets crisps extortionate.

Enjoyed a lovely meal celebrating hubbies birthday with the family. The food was delicious and we had great service. So nice to find a welcoming dog friendly pub.

Fantastic roast! Great value, lovely staff and delicious food. Worth the walk out of the main town but at over £7 less than the other restaurants and pubs is worth the walk.

We visited Wells for a week with a family of 8 people and 6 dogs. We had a fantastic meal at The Globe, they were very accommodating, helpful and efficient. The food was fantastic and so tasty! Jess and Mark served us and were both faultless - they did such a fantastic job. We visited The Globe every night we were there and will certainly be back! What a gem in Wells!

If you want no nonsense great pub food, give this place a visit. We ate for four nights in Wells, each time at different places. We had very mixed experiences and so wished that we had come here for more than just the one night....
