I went past pub to go get a can of Coke . I was told there was none so I asked for a Pepsi and was told there wasn’t any. Sharron a blonde worker then told me we have 4 Pepsis left so I said can I have one she told me they’re for our customers I said I am a customer yet she said you’re not sitting in and refused me . This is 0/10 service and I am not happy . Don’t come to this pub if you are passing as the service is shocking and absolutely appalling. Will not be returning very unsatisfied.

We rang many venues in the area for my 8 year old grandson to play skittles, we had only one response the ring o bells, they would not charge as long as we bought a drink from the bar, we ended up having a drink and a roast dinner, WOW what a great roast lunch. We will definitely be going back. Well done all involved at a great local pub

We visited here whilst staying in Wookey. The good reviews on Google meant we picked it for a meal out. The menu has plenty of choice, including most of your pub classics. We had the squid for starter, which was nice. We both had pasta/ gnocchi dishes for mains, which were VERY cheesy and we weren’t able to finish them. The service also wasn’t very attentive. Our orders were taken quickly and food/ drinks followed shortly after. However, no one came to check how our meals were or clear plates, it just lacked a personal touch for a Pub with lots of character and for a meal that cost a fair amount.

We booked here for Sunday lunch. Worth booking if you want to go here. Pretty quiet when we first arrived, but then it filled up pretty quick. We had the sunday roast. Opted for the beef. Wow when it arrived, you got a good amount of beef. Vegetables came on a separate plate. Everything it came with tasted really flavoursome. Ordered some extra sides which also tasted great. The cauliflower cheese was amazing. Really good flavours to it. Staff were all pleasant and friendly.

Went for evening dinner. Inside seating was cozy and staff super friendly. Atmosphere was comfortable despite us not being local. Food portions were generous and did not feel like the budget grub you'd get at a city pub. Steak was cooked extremely well and cooked as requested. Chunky chips extremely chunky. Cod loin and prawns came with a very large fish and plenty of prawns. Flavour for both meals was 10/10 and you would not leave hungry As the starter and mains were so food we could not leave out desert so 2 sticky toffee puddings were on the cards. Again portions were big and food very tasty. Could not fault this establishment one bit. Also, potentially dog friendly

A tale of two halves really, visited this pub twice while away, which is a lovely pub, first night I had a rib eye steak, my wife had cod loin with prawns, both meals excellent, followed by sticky toffee pudding which we agreed was probably the best we had ever had, we enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday dinner which was not to the standard of the night before, don't get me wrong, it was nice but clear it is a roast that is already prepared then warmed up, good size dinner, the meat was lovely but the Yorkshire pudding was as thin as a rizla and snapped when we cut into it, no substance at all, now we both love Yorkshire pudding but this really was ineadable, we noticed the couple on the next table left theirs as well, it tasted old and oily which was disappointing as the rest of the meal was fine, I don't think it will put us off going back for a meal as our original one was great but Sunday dinner, we will go somewhere else next time, it was also disappointing that a couple were sat at the bar not caring about the language they were using in front of families with small children and being allowed to vape in front of bar staff which I thought was not allowed in a pub.

Three of us had dinner at the Ring O Bells 29 March on the recommendation of another local pub. Lovely old pub. Excellent service from friendly staff. Great food (I had the pork belly). This was our first time visiting yesterday afternoon and whilst the food was OK and a very large portion unfortunately the same cannot be said for the service. We were seated at 3pm, had our drink and food order taken shortly after BUT it took over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our food actually turned up before the drinks did. When the food arrived, the plates got slammed on the table with a lot of the veg falling off the plate and onto the table. Traditional historic pub with 3ft thick buttressed stone walls (served its first pint in 1487 as an Almshouse to the Wells Bishops Palace- no, I wasn't there!), Great menu and real ales all week, but an exceptional choice for Sunday Lunch. Chefs Alex, Carl and their kitchen and bar team produce a selection of meats + veggie options with all the trimmings. And I do mean ALL the trimmings - suggest you skip breakfast! Sadly we did not have a great experience here - we were practically ignored from the minute we stepped into the place. We reserved a table for dinner once we were served at the bar and came back to our table at that set time. We were frowned upon by the young girl as if she was questioning did we have a reservation… we were shown our table then promptly ignored. Managed to ask for menus when another girl showed some other customers their table, she apologised but thought it was funny ... And that’s where we sat waiting for someone else to return to take our order. 12-15 mins later we decided this wasn’t for us, no one had appeared at any time to check on us or the other customers who were all sat just looking around. We left and saw the three young girls at the bar idly chatting and giggling amongst themselves as if they had nothing else to do. Such a disappointment after the fabulous reviews… we must’ve picked the wrong night perhaps.

On a recent camping trip to Somerset, our family recently had the pleasure of dining at the Ring 'o' Bells in Wookey, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent, and the meal exceeded our expectations. We visited the restaurant with our two daughters and son. The generous portions and the choice on offer surprised me for such a quiet, unassuming pub tucked away in a quiet corner of the village. The children ordered the Lamb Steak, Sirloin, and RibEye Steak, and they devoured every bite. They had a good attempt at the sides, too, but couldn't quite finish it all! The quality of the meat was outstanding, and it was cooked to perfection. The fact that even the children enjoyed their meals speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The desserts were equally delightful, and our entire family savoured every last spoonful. The variety of options made it difficult to choose, but we were not disappointed with our selections. The flavours were rich and indulgent, ending our meal on a high note. What stood out to us even more was the specials board. The range of options available was impressive, and my husband and I couldn't resist trying two of the dishes. The Pork Rib special was divine - tender, succulent, and flavorful. The portion size was exceptionally generous, and we certainly left the restaurant completely satisfied. On top of the incredible food, the service we received was fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and attended to our every need. Their friendly and attentive nature was a pleasant surprise and greatly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, our visit to the Ring 'o' Bells was a delightful surprise. The exceptional food, generous portions, and outstanding service exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Wookey or the surrounding area. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

A traditional village country pub, still retains its 14th century features with huge fireplaces at each end of bar / restaurant. Atmosphere is friendly and welcoming with most of the customers being local. Well worth a diversion off the "B" road to go into the historic village and drop in for coffee, lunch or supper. Even as a local myself I would still book a table for dinner even midweek, don't assume it will be quite and sleepy. There's a large bar and seating inside and out, Tonight 3 of us went for traditional pub grub supper, terrific ! Proper size plates, proper homemade meals with hot food up to the rim. Proper job ! as they say a bit further West. Despite thinking "I'll never eat that much" half hour later I'm mopping the plate with my last chip, but couldn't manage a dessert. Everything a British country village pub should be , untouched...unlike by those made over fake townie pubs. P.s can't really comment on veggie or other other preferences did notice Gluten free. Accessibility, there is a step up but plenty of locals and farmers to help manhandle you if needed.

We were looking for a pub for lunch & decided to go to Frome as my partner said she had been there before. We saw this pub as we came into Frome & decided to stop here. We wanted a nice cozy proper pub & found it! The lady working there was very friendly & chatty. Food was lush, I had the rump steak & I have to say, for pub grub at pub prices, it was extremely good! Better than more expensive cuts in restaurants that I've had before! If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely pop in for food again!
