The best restaurants in South West

Very friendly owners and the fish and chips were cheaper by far than similar near the sea front

Been coming here for over a year and loved this place including breakfast and last year's Xmas meal/menu especially I don't know what's happened to the place since. I rang up last month about an Xmas/December menu and I was told they would be doing it but this never happened. We ended up booking for the Sunday menu which looked like the nearest thing. We arrived today and mentioned we booked and the staff couldn't find the booking sheet and sat us at the table "for people who haven't booked" this was an amusingly small table and was way too small for 4 people so we moved The food was nowhere near as good as it was last year. We were told there was a new chef. Everything had little flavour and the beef was as tough as old boots. We weren't given new cutlery after our starters and were left with dinner with nothing to eat it with. There was also a 10% service charge which is there by default. This is naughty and we refused to pay it I think if we'd gone to Wetherspoons we'd have enjoyed it more and that's saying something. I can't see us returning

Such a great place, well worth the visit

Dined here multiple times over the last two years, always for dinner. A unique atmosphere, easy to talk, high ceilings and windows allow for a relaxing dinner. Menu changes, and quite adventurous, same for the wine list. Always enjoyable, my personal favorite in Bristol.

Muy buena comida, pero absolutamente el peor servicio al cliente. No paraban de disculparse por lo malo que fue servir a alguien más, dejándome ahí sentado. Mi plato principal llegó en tres partes, entre ellos sirviendo a otras personas, así que estaba sentado allí esperando una comida completa real. Pedí la cuenta CUATRO veces, solo llegó cuando me puse mi abrigo e iba a salir.

Our lunch today was superb the food was lovely and hot as were the plates the food is all home made with fresh vegetables the pub has just been refurbished to a very high standard lovely log burn glowing. The great quality of food is always consistent. Quick service.

Like a little taste of Paris here in Exeter. Delicious baked goods, great coffee, cosyily decorated and thoroughly miserable staff. Very authentic.

Lovely Sunday lunch today- really impressed. Great service and a really nice menu. Nice to have a vegetarian option that is a roast.
