Lovely pub in the heart of Haydon Wick. Excellent home cooked food, nice menu which changes summer and winter. Portion size very good. Sunday lunch excellent. Booking recommended to avoid disappointment.

Lovely local pub with delicious food! Highly recommended

This pub is great for an evening out with friends. From the delicious freshly cooked food to the friendly service and atmosphere, it will not disappoint. Well varied menu and no problem with vegetarian choices though it is not a large establishment. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

We eat here regularly and the food is always of a high standard. Good portion sizes and piping hot. The atmosphere is warm and it is dog friendly. I recommend the Sunday lunch and the specials are good too.

Great old pub in Haydon wick. The food is great and the beer kept just as good. We visit for evening meals fairly regularly, the portions are very generous and reasonably priced.

Love this pub it's my local. It has everything you want in a pub . Pool darts and food owners are lovely welcoming people as well as dog friendly on the pub side.

We eat here regularly. The Sunday lunch is brilliant with a choice of small, medium or large. Great value. The weekday menu is lovely and the food is always served piping hot. Best book because it can get busy.

Met up with family here for lunch, which was our first visit to this venue. The welcome was very friendly, even to our little dog Marley :) The atmosphere was very warm and relaxed, with a lovely Christmas feel. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was delicious, with generous portions and reasonably priced. Thank you all for making our day so special.

My husband and I both chose filled ciabattas, which were delicious, huge and came with chips and salad. The menu was varied with plenty to suit all tastes. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. We will certainly return to eat there. One point though, I don’t think the purple paint does anything for the pub! Sorry.

Friendly staff dog's allowed excellent service and food

Have eaten here several time and we are also regulars for Sunday lunch. Home cooked food, served hot and definitely good value. The quiz nights are fun too.

Visited while passing unplanned (not expecting much to be honest) .Very impressed excellent customer service from all staff very accommodating when we turned up late into service with no booking and the food was great ! Lovely little pub best Yorkshire pudding I think I have ever had !! Thankyou

Nice traditional pub which has the feel of an old local but cleaner and comfier. The food was a little pricy but is way beyond pub grub and worth the price imo. Good selection of whiskies and Gins too. Great and friendly service with great atmosphere. Big brass last orders bell and a pool table too. Exactly the kind of pub my dad took me to when I was younger. When we got there it was empty too so this could well be one of Swindon's hidden gems! Highly recommended!

Since it changed hands recently it has really improved, good service (lacking previously) and great food. Would recommend.

Booked a table in advance, arrived a few minutes early and served straight away with drinks then took a seat. Order taken after a short wait allowing us to get settled and after a good explanation of what was on offer. Choice of two roasts for Sunday Lunch. Chicken or Beef. Small, medium or large portions. We were two adults and a child so ordered one chicken medium one beef medium and one chicken small. Medium chicken was a quarter chicken with stuffing and small sausages and a roast parsnip, Yorkshire pud and roast potatoes, beef with two slices and the same but no stuffing or sausages. Vegetables were served separately carrots, cabbage and cauliflower and gravy also separate. Food was very nice, well cooked and served. Desert was syrup pudding and ice cream and portions of three scoops of ice cream A very nice pleasant Sunday lunch on a wet day thoroughly enjoyed.

I'm sorry but beef tough veggies disgusting no wonder we were the only ones there ! Oh & get your gravy granules right if that's the only gravy you can make

I have frequented the Fox for many years and through many Landlords. At the moment they are not doing food, normally dishes that would overwhelm the largest of appetites. Right now with Brendan and Debbie manning the place on their own under Covid restrictions it's a haven that is very welcome. To aid capacity they have erected a large Marquee in the car park, put in a one way system and seating rules (break the rules at your peril Deb will see to that). Cosy lounge well spaced and a boozers lounge (proper pub). Go be safe and enjoy.

Lovely little pub! We was in the bar area as you enter, there's a NHS track and trace code also a sign in form if you don't have the app. We was seated and all service was done at the table, they aren't running food at the moment but it's a wonderful place for a drink. 2 beautiful dogs as well. Staff where wonderful service was quick and good value for money.

Always a great selection of good beer and the pizza is good, during the day on a weekday, expect a semi hostile response from the female staff when you interrupt their conversation to order a drink (what was I thinking) sadly this has happened to me on more than one occasion. But it doesn’t put me off going back

Went in yesterday for a family meal, stood at the bar for 20 minutes and nobody acknowledged that we were there so we walked out 🤷‍♀️ Very happy we did though cause we went for a drive and found a brilliant place elsewhere!

I can't believe that no one else has reviewed this pub which does the best value meals in Swindon, talk about a hidden gem this place is it. Went last night and had and amazing meal including drinks for under £18, the landlord is great too.

Good food and acceptable service. When it comes to value it is rather ok. I enjoyed the setting and the super comfy chairs indoors.

Very cosy, very friendly pub Went to watch rugby 6 nations, fantastic atmosphere. Fans English Scottish WELSH and Irish. Really good banter !! Last but not least super pint of Guinness well poured by friendly bar staff.

Friendly local pub music in one bar weekends there is also a quiet bar which is traditional and cosy serves great food

Went in here on the way home and took advantage of the 2 for £12 menu which is available on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursdays. Debbie the barmaid is lovely and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble for her and she always checks to see if your happy with your meal. We have been here several times and cannot find fault this place at all. Well done everyone and the faggot special needs to be a regular on the menu.

Would continue to take my grand children there as long as the weather permits.

Friendly and attentive staff and overall a friendly atmosphere. Sports bar separate to the family bar gives you both choices. Local bar food, the burger was lovely, however the jacket potato and cheese was not nice. Really relaxed environment and enjoyed my time there. Needs a refurb / bit of a clean in places.

Yes it very nice and very good tip top

We just had sunday lunch there and it was really good. Also they let our little dog in and the drinks were nice and not expensive. Really good yorkshire pud, plenty of gravy and very tender chicken. The vegetables were perfectly cooked - cabbage, broccoli, carrots, mashed swede, new potatoes and roasties.

A proper pub! Clean, welcoming and good at what it does. The front bar is great for a quiet drink or meal, the other bar is more like the old 'public bars' used to be.
