Great little pub tucked away in a village but quite near the M4 junction for easy access. Parking was available. Enjoyed Sunday roasts with trimmings, tasty desserts, and very friendly service. Will be back for sure!

We stopped here for dinner yesterday. I would definitely recommend booking as we tried the day before but they were really busy. I had the burger and my husband had the fish and chips. The food was really good, big portions and very tasty. We spent about £45 for two main courses and two large glasses of wine. It’s located just off the M4 Swindon so a good place to break up a journey.

We visited the pub for the first time today. Having stumbled over this wonderful gem of a pub. The locals must count themselves so lucky. We score pubs on five things. Do they allow dogs in the bar, tick. Do they serve Guinness, tick. Is there a genuine warm welcome, tick. We're the toilets clean, tick. And then and only then do we order food. Food tick. Amazing value and excellent quality. All round a great pub and we will return. Thank you Louise and all the staff.

choose to break journey M4 for dinner. Food ok, service poor and ambiance + feeling we were unwelcome and like being sat in someones lounge with a loud conversation going on. A group of friends spoke with the landlord and lady (both drinking well before 8pm - see other reviews where Landlord denies he drinks before 8pm) loudly talking each other saying about the pub down the road among other things I won't repeat here "you'd have to get a mortgage to go there". Not a relaxing experience at all sadly. This pub is also not charging VAT which I understand is legally required for establishments serving food that is eaten at their establishment. I think this pub could be gem if only the landlord and lady cared for their customers enough not to expose them to their loud get together with their friends.

Lovely country pub. Warmly welcomed in. We were going to sit outside in the garden as had our little dog with us but owner said come in. Had fish and chips all round as well as fish cakes. Food gorgeous and very reasonably priced compared to others. Fish and chips probably the best sit down I’ve had. The crunchie cheesecake desert was delicious too. Well, we turned up at the bakers arms just before 6 pm, and we had not booked a table but asked if it was possible for us to have a meal The reply was yes We were given menus and shown to a table Known for its fish and chips, so that is what I had to try. My partner opted for the scampi. We did not have to wait long (15 minutes if that ) The fish and chips wow 👌 absolutely amazing, and the scampi and chips were just as good, then came the question desert that had to be a yes too apple, cinnamon and sultana crumble with custard and an Eaton mess The meals that we both had were excellent, the service was outstanding, the friendly and welcoming staff, so it's definitely a place that we will be going back to for more of their excellent food A big thank you to you all and see you again soon

Booked a table for 3 on a Saturday evening a few weeks ago Being a local and supportive of this pub for years, there was an odd atmosphere upon arrival Drinks served and showed to our table with the menus which were on standard paper and grubby with stains on! Not overly professional, and we were informed of the specials board We chose the curry and ham egg and chips Both people commented on the chicken tikka curry being rather bland and lacked flavor also served in a bowl with rice chips were cooked well though Ham, eggs and chips was good but nothing to write home about think slices of ham eggs runny which was good We decided against desert Bill total was £60 for 6 pints 2 currys and ham egg and chips

Nice little local pub. Unfortunately the "famous" fish and chips was not included on the Sunday lunch menu so I opted for the Roast Chicken "wrapped in bacon". I put the bacon part in quotation marks since contrary to the menu, there was next to no bacon but this didn't really bother me too much. Although the meal was good, it would have been nice to have been given the gravy in a separate jug and have the option to add myself. I'm not a fan of gravy all over everything but the chef obviously was. The cheesecake on the other hand...chocolate orange...was absolutely delicious! Massive fan of that and would recommend all to order! Felt the desert was definitely worthy of a photo :-) Service was great, all staff politely and friendly. Lovely setting too.

My wife and I were looking to break a journey from Kent to Bristol and didn't fancy stopping on the M4 services for lunch. She looked up a "dog-friendly pub near junction 15" on Google whilst en route and The Bakers Arms was recommended. We were greeted extremely warmly, including the dog, (who was given a biscuit). Service was brisk and cheerful throughout. The food was lovely: ham egg & chips and Bakers Arms famous battered cod & chips - and generously portioned. Great country pub. It was good to see enough people drinking and dining to create a nice atmosphere. Bradbury village itself is full of character and all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stop for lunch.

Took my Dad out for lunch & thought we'd try the Bakers. Really good food, excellent service, reasonable prices, great location. I had the fish pie, Dad went for the famous fish & chips. The pie had good bite size pieces of firm fish & very tasty. I think a little bowl of carrots was a bit of a strange side dish, but they were nice. Large piece of cod for Dad, nice chips, & a little bowl of mushy peas. All good. Enough to be famous? Maybe not quite that good, but very nice anyway 😉 All in all a good 'lads that lunch' experience, thank you. Oh, we had a whitebait starter too, just for the photo's to send my niece. My first time here but was with family who’ve been here before. They recommended we visit and I wasn’t disappointed. Food was hot and plentiful with great service and a nice atmosphere. I took a group of 23 elderly ladies, from Cricklade Open Door, for lunch at The Baker's Arms. We were a large party for a small village inn but they coped admirably. The service was quick and efficient, with a smile and nothing was too much bother for the staff. All our lunches were thoroughly enjoyed because they were cooked well, chips beautifully crisp, served hot and they got all orders correct. During an all weekend bike ride, we reached the Bakers Arms very hungry and well after lunch time on a Sunday. The kichen had closed but seeing we were in need of a refuel, Louise, the lovely landlady, opened the kitchen and made us a delicious sandwich with proper Wiltshire ham on excellent bread with a nice fresh side salad and some crisps. She was so friendly and happy to help two grimy cyclists who happened upon her very smart pub, refusing to take a tip for helping us out. Louise rates 5 stars for that alone. However, if the quality of ingredients in the sandwich is anything to go by, I'd say you won't be disappointed if you stop by for lunch or dinner! Thank you Louise! Reaffirms our faith that good pople are still out there!

Very tasty food, but rather expensive for what seems to be heated from frozen bought-in food (even the Yorkshire pud's & roast potatoes had the texture of frozen bulk-bagged, and the veggies were cooked until soft). If it were made by the skill of the chef it would probably be worth the price, but the nut roast was supermarket bought. Still tasted good though!

My wife and I ate lunch as we were traveling from Heathrow Airport to Bath. We had fish pie and battered cod and chips with smashed peas (I am not a fan). Both were hot and fresh and of ample size for the price. The pie was flavorful and well prepared, it just was not what we really wanted that day. The fish and chips were very good. One large piece of fish over a bed of chips. They were both cooked well: crispy and done through. The batter on the fish was light and tasty. The tartar sauce had an excellent flavor and enhanced the fish. The service was quick and friendly.
