In the heart of Swindon Old Town, Dotty's is a charming breakfast café. The best item on their menu is the "make it yourself" breakfast where you pick your items. Lovely atmosphere, with wooden tables - feels like an old fashioned café! Polite and smiley staff.

Absolutely stunning food, piping hot and fast, The staff were so friendly and welcoming, my first visit and they knew it was my birthday so the owner/manager got me a birthday cake and brought it out, so touched how lovely! Highly highly recommended will be a return customer for sure! Thank you ladies brilliant xx

We researched the cafe before we came and the reviews looked great so we decided to visit before attending a show at the art center across the road. Sadly the experience we had did not reflect the reviews I read. 3/3 meals were ordered were served incorrect. The cheeseburger came out without cheese, the kids goujons meals had no beans and I was served a regular chicken salad rather than a chicken Caesar, as I had ordered. I was then told they have no parmesan so I said okay any cheese is fine, they brought out the same salad with some croutons and cheddar on top. No caesar dressing and it had olives, which a Caesar salad isn't supposed to have. To top it all off I was overcharged for the food and had to request an itemised receipt in order to get a partial refund. I wasn't offered much in the form of a apology, let alone any money off my bill. Overall not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend.

I had a Brie and bacon panini. The panini was toasted to perfection and the bacon was thick and crispy. Delicious food and great service.

A very cosy breakfast place in Old Town offering vegetarian items ( for those with dietary restrictions ) in the breakfast as well apart from meat items. I had the 8 items breakfast ( £ 9 ) which included fried eggs , beans , vegan sausages , hash brown , black pudding , mushrooms , buttered toast and fried toast. We also ordered a side of Cheesy Chips ( £3.5 ) to share. I also ordered a cappucino which came with a good amount of froth at the top. The food was fresh , hot and tasty , they gave us some chilli sauce as well. The two girls managing the cafe were really polite , professional and swift with their service despite the cafe being busy. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice , family-friendly breakfast place in Swindon! :)

Brilliant range of breakfast items, including vegetarian options, excellent lunch menu and the staff are always lovely! Highly recommend popping in for food and a hot drink (or smoothie!) if you're in old town.

Random breakfast on a rainy day. Baguette and chips, she had full English. New supplier and everything is so much better. Crowded but seats available. Never go in an empty cafe. Coming back.

Lovely little cafe with super friendly and welcoming staff. Food all good and great selection. Our kids especially loved choosing a kids breakfast/brunch and the yummy milkshakes. Worth seeking out to support a local business rather than a chain and not too far from the town centre.

Good breakfast, good service, maybe toast could be more toasty than buttered hot bread, otherwise really good.

Travelled up from Swansea for the day to visit Swindon, stopped to have food in Dotty’s and we weren’t disappointed. Service with a smile from their friendly staff, with 10/10 food. Will definitely be back if I’m back in the area!

Saturday 27th january 2024 This morning, i went to this pleasant cafe in Swindons old town for my breakfast. This cafe is a very clean, cosy place and well run by the owners and staff It's easy to go feel to it as soon as you enter, which makes you feel like eating food. The breakfast i got was the big one. 10 items toast coffee comes with it. This was well worth the £12.50 cost (i have sent a picture to dottys site I would recommend this cafe strongly.

Great local cafe - staff are so friendly, everything we have tried has been delicious and the portion sizes are huge! Would definitely recommend.

Undoubtedly, the best breakfast in Swindon. Good quality produce used. Poached eggs were done to perfection and the bubble and squeak is a nice little addition that you don’t seem to get offered anywhere else. Oh and teas served in a pot as it should be.

I visited with my daughter and my dog just in time for brunch.....we weren't planning on eating here, but my daughter recommended it, and I'm so glad she did!! If you ever fancy a cooked breakfast in Old Town, then this is the place to eat it!! Fried food by the item....with tea, coffee, bread to compliment, all served however you like by the lovely staff....and my dog was made very welcome. The bacon was spectacularly good, and probably the best I've eaten in decades TBF!! Then again, it might just have been the wonderful company at the table who made it taste so good!?!

Popped in for a breakfast treat this morning while my car was being repaired locally. Lovely food cooked just the way i like it. Good value for money too👌 will go there again if i am in the area.

Unreal fry up and black coffee, wish there was a 6 star option. Nothing compares in Swindon to this fry up. Would be the perfect hangover cure.

Great cafe. Had a lovely 8 piece breakfast of items you can select. It was cooked fresh and ingredients were decent, nice thick bacon etc. Staff were all lovely and friendly and they had plenty of high chairs available for our baby.

Excellent visit this morning for breakfast. Was greeted with a polite young waiter. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was absolutely lovely and good size. Oreo milkshake was amazing!

This is a great café, the portions are enormous and very reasonably priced. Sometimes it's difficult to get a table as it's so popular. I'll be back.

Really good place for breakfast, both myself and my wife enjoyed our visit. Staff really friendly and the food was good, the only very minor quibble the black pudding could have had more taste but having said that I would definitely go back.

I personally didn't enjoy the breakfast, the veggi sausage were awful, the mushrooms were soggy. I prefer fresh and fried. However; my daughter and hubby loved the chip butty. The staff were very friendly and polite.

We visit here quite regularly myself and my friends. Always a lovely lunch. I had scrambled eggs on toast and my friends had beans and cheese on toast. The portions are huge and the toast is fresh thick bread. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Highly recommended.

Great little café. Staff are polite, food is yummy, prices are reasonable. They do offer table service, I had the wise guy panini for lunch today which was delicious and everything hot and fresh. Before I have had the eggs Benedict which was equally delicious. They serve breakfast all day! Support small businesses 👍

The staff have rotated a few times since I started going here. The service and food remain excellent though, just the faces have changed. I've only ever gone for breakfast there at weekends. It's a simple menu that allows you to choose what, and how many of what, you want. Perfect.

Noticed Dotty’s Cafe a few weeks ago whilst passing through Old Town on the bus, so decided to try a breakfast there. We weren’t disappointed. The cafe was clean and bright, the staff were friendly and the breakfast consisted of good quality ingredients that were well cooked. Delicious. Will definitely be going back.

My daughter and I used to drop in here regularly about 15 and years ago. We revisited yesterday for breakfast. Very nice food and good service. Overall I thought that the price was reasonable and I write like the format of being able to choose your breakfast by number of items. The only problem with this is that it does highlight anomalies in pricing between items. For £1 I could have an extra slice of their very good thick bacon or another of their tasty sausages but paying £1 for half a slice of fried bread didn't feel right. At least give a full slice of fried bread for my money. Tasty meal that should have warranted 5 stars but I have taken one star off as the price of fried bread felt like a rip off. Only place I have been to where a while slice of fried bread is twice the price of a slice of bacon.

Sometimes call here when in Old Town and always enjoy the food. Staff are always friendly and efficient and the food is nice and generous in portion size. The bacon and Brie sandwich with cranberry is perfection on doorstop style bread and they make a nice latte too! Will be back soon!

We were looking for a nice cafe to have Breakfast and found Dotty's on Google. It was lovely, the staff are very friendly the food was great, well priced with a good selection. The dog was welcomed too, with a bowl of water and a complementry sausage. Will visit again.

Love this place… best in town. Just frustrating when you go there on a Sat lunchtime, pay to park only to find that they have shut early…. Please update your opening times to avoid disappointment.. Thanks!

First visit since new owners took over. Still "nice" with good service, BUT I'm afraid we won't be returning as food hadn't come up to expectations. Bacon still had rind on (not good in a buttie)! Toast was too thick to eat and tea was just "strange". Pity - Dottie's was a little gem in old town. 😟.

Away on a break in Swindon. Didn't want hotel buffet breakfast so we hunted out a cafe close by. We were not disappointed, the staff were very polite and helpful. The full English breakfast was good value for money. The cafe was very clean and tables sanitised after each sitting. I would recommend this cafe it was that good the builders close by pre ordered.

Very generous portions at reasonable prices. Pleased to see a good selection of herbal teas and the coffee drinker in the family gave the coffee a thumbs up. Tomato soup was tasty and filing and the 2 bacon and egg sandwiches were huge. Slight criticism of the bread which was half inch thick and too much . Great for toast but took away from the delicious bacon and free range egg in the sandwich. Friendly staff and clearly very popular as a local cafe. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. Tables are close together and very few mask wearers but in this new age we respect customer choice on mask wearing so absolutely not the cafe's fault.

Going in here was like stepping into 1995… and I LOVED THAT. Forty’s has this old Time feeling, relaxed, friendly staff, and the food was good! I had a jacket potato with beans and it was extremely well priced. Worth a pop in if out and about.

Searching for places in Swindon to eat? This place you should try Dotty’s old town cafe. Stopped in for luncheon and had a great meal. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Definitely a go-to place for luncheon or breakfast when you are in Swindon! The worst breakfast in Swindon! Couldn't even get the order right 😒 will continue to go to the blues cafe for a proper fry up that's actually worth the money.

Basic! Mushrooms from a tin. Eggs uncooked n the smallest. Hash brown uncooked. Powdered mocha with hot water. Only nice thing was service. Better to go sainsbury cafe. All day breakfast for 4.50 and much better quality.

Dotty's has built a reputation locally as a no fuss traditional English cafe serving simple, classic British breakfast and lunches. There's demand for such an offer, and rightly so. Simple English cafe food is fabulous and, done well, will always deserve popularity. At Dotty's, on the evidence of our recent visit, it isn't done well. We has the impression the reputation of this cafe is built more on what it is than how well it does it. Welcome is unsmiling and offhand. The food is at best patchy, and at worst poor. Scrambled eggs were overcooked to solidity and under-seasoned. Mushrooms were pale, sweaty and flavourless. Opting for fresh rather than tinned tomatoes (the default), the tomatoes were served raw. Bacon was thick and chewy, with a texture like gammon, and didn't taste like bacon. Bubble and squeak was an odd, green, solidified mash. Dotty's will deserve its reputation when it uses better ingredients and cooks them with more love and care.

Very very tasty food. Lovely feeling in the cafe, feels very homely, the staff are polite and friendly. Options for adults and kids which is fantastic! Very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go again, and will be recommending everyone! Thank you for our lovely lunch Dotty's! :)

Very clean and tidy place. Friendly staff. The mango and pineapple smoothie and the victoria sponge cake were delicious. I highly recommend it.

Best cappuccino I have had in a long time and the Victoria Sponge cake was delicious. Friendly staff was the cherry on top. If you are in around Old Town don’t miss this cafe.
