What a brilliant cafe. Stopped for a coffee but when we saw the breakfasts coming out we decided to treat ourselves. Quality ingredients, well cooked and exceptional service with a smile. Dogs also well treated!! thank you
Just wonderful again
Amazing food and lovely breakfast
Looking forward to our next stay at this perfect location
Too many people are getting to know about it !!!
This is a superb cafe, with a good selection of reasonably-priced food. The cooking is excellent and the service prompt. But there are no vegan options that I could see and only a couple of vegetarian choices. This is a real shame; they are really missing a trick here, as increasing numbers of people are now on plant-based diets. We saw two couples walk away today having read the outside menu, saying 'nothing for us'. Shame.
The Lorna Doone is a really nice and quaint inn. Our hosts there were very friendly and helpful. We stayed two very comfortable nights while we explored Porlock and Lynton. We also had a delicious dinner there. We highly recommend both Porlock and the Lorna Doone!
In the throes of Storm Darragh, this wonderful little Cafe proved a warm haven from the gale force winds. Great bacon roll and a tiffin that my fiancée assures me was fantastic this coupled with friendly and chatty hostesses made it an experience to repeat.
We had the full English breakfast but it's an odd choice of size, 1 of everything or 2 of everything, one is too small and the other too large, we decided on one of each and shared the large breakfast to even it out. It was nice, well cooked and the staff were efficient but the place lacks atmosphere and the rest of the menu for lunch lacked imagination (fish n chips & burgers etc) and wasn't enough to tempt us back. The small breakfast at £12 and the large at £15 was overpriced for the area in my opinion, they don't charge that in Truro cafés and they must have much higher rent/rates than out here in a garden centre.
Service was superb. Hubby thought food was great - pie& chips, however steak disappointing. First one over cooked, replaced quickly service super, second steak not great quality.
We ordered and payed for food online and then came to collect it and the door was locked, numerous other people came within the period that we were waiting to also find no answer and after waiting nearly half an hour there was still no answer despite the lights still being on and it saying that it was open online. We also tried ringing but got the answer phone everytime.
Popped in on Monday afternoon. One cappuccino, one hot chocolate, a chocolate brownie, a slice of lemon cake, and a packet of pork scratchings. Lovely drinks, and food was excellent. Thank you.
A very welcoming, well styled little eatery. The owner was friendly, helpful and attentive throughout, offering quality service with a smile. We went late afternoon on a Saturday and the restaurant was spotless. We didn't wait long for food and it was delightful! Nachos are a favourite of mine and they didn't disappoint. The food was fresh and delicious. There were plenty of options on the menu, along with alcoholic drinks and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! We will definitely be going back!
What a wonderful pub, Susan and her husband Graeme were so accommodating. The food was so delicious. 2 of our party had diet issues and Susan went out of the way to look after them.
Susan made me one of the best Bloody Mary's I have drunk for a long time. Thank you so much.
The restaurant was recommended to me and did not disappoint. First class, friendly service and excellent food. The online menu seemed limited but there were plenty of other options on the specials board.
on holiday looked for a local pub for Sunday lunch. We have had many of these in our time this was definately one of the best,I have never had so many different veggies, the roast baby leeks made it though,Of course the ginger sponge was beautiful,so light. It was perfect, and of course the staff were so friendly,
