A lovely place to eat. Only small so doesn’t cater for people that need a dairy free cake other than flapjacks. We treated my Mum out for a cream tea which she thought was lovely. We go different times of the year and sometimes if we are early enough in the morning we have a bacon roll. They do nice light lunches there also and homemade cakes, ice creams and lollies and hot drinks and an assortment of cold drinks. When the weather is nice they have outside seating.

The cafe is in a great coastal location, we stopped here for coffee and cake on a Sunday afternoon. The staff are friendly and the cakes are nice however we purchased ice creams from the serving hatch as we were leaving and I have to say that these were the worst value ice creams I’ve ever had. They must be using the smallest ice cream scoops ever made as there was hardly any ice cream on top of the cone. Charging £3.50 for this is an absolute rip off. If you do visit this place I’d stick to teas and coffees, there are much better ice creams to be had elsewhere. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g315947-d4832512-r962071755-Carnewas_Tea_Rooms-Wadebridge_Cornwall_England.html#

Great little tea room at the car park for Carnewas (Bedruthen Steps). We have been for lunch and snacks before and the food is good quality simple fare - panini, baked potatoes, macaroni cheese, pies, scones, cakes etc. Lovely room and a gift shop next door. Also has a selection of kids games to play. We played Kerplunk which was a trip down memory lane!

I’ve been coming to these tea rooms every year for as long as I can remember and always recommend it to others as a great place for a cream tea with the most amazing scones. We visited today and we were all so disappointed - the scones were dense, tasteless and just didn’t feel at all fresh, almost like they were yesterday’s. Very crumbly too which made spreading the very thick and cold clotted cream quite difficult. Sadly I won’t be coming back especially as you have to pay to park before you’ve even bought the scone!

Looking forward to our favourite cream teas at Carnewas tea rooms, bedruthan. On arrival there was a sign asking you to wait to be called forward, no one called us although several staff looked at us but ignored that we were there. A customer told us to just go up to the counter. We Waited longer than usual for a cream tea and a coffee, they weren’t busy! When the scones arrived the inside of them was cold and dry as if they had been frozen. On our previous visits they had always come out warm and fluffy . We asked a male member of staff if the scones were fresh today and were told yes. He then went to speak to a female colleague and between them both they shouted down the tearoom to us that they were always fresh and were fine, ( We were seated near the far end of the tea room away from the counter). We repeated that they weren’t good and were ignored. At no point did anybody come to us to ask what could be rectified. It’s a shame as we’ve been coming for many years and unfortunately won’t be visiting again! If you have a problem with their food don’t expect the staff to be polite or rectify the problem!

Visited previously when I think it was run by the National Trust, not so good now. Smallest latte we have had while being in Cornwall and disappointing dry cakes and cream tea with really cheap jam and scones.Shocked to see one member of staff fiddling with their mask to remove it to drink from a can and then handle plates to serve food on with no hand washing in between. Also watched as dirty plates were stacked in a dishwasher, then clean plates removed by the same member of staff, again with no hand washing. The numbered wooden spoons given out for table orders were just taken from used trays and given straight to new customers with no cleaning. Having written Covid risk assessments I was quite shocked to see this and think they need to look at their Covid procedures. The staff were very welcoming and friendly but management need to retrain and review procedures.

I have been many times and found this place lovely. Today it was not. Poor coffee, poor tea - tiny scones. All in throw away cups/ plates etc - understandable in these Covid times but surely they have a dishwasher? How do pubs and restaurants do it otherwise ? Worst of all was the queue for the 1 toilet for all and filthy it was. Again covid times we may expect change and queues but not like this. Get a grip and sort it out. Get portaloo’s if you have to - or you will not survive the summer without flare ups from very annoyed people.

My scone was lovely, delicious and light and came with the right amount of cream and jam. I had massive food envy at my husband's butty and managed to steal some of it and it was brilliant. The right bacon to bread ratio on a tiger cob. It was so nice we returned a few days later, just for a bacon and egg butty each. The people working there seemed lovely: the were very friendly and were also patient with some tourists who didn't speak much English and caring to a few elderly customers who needed help with doors and such. I had a roast pork bap, my niece a ploughmans & my Mum the ham & cheese toastie - all were delicious but I have to do a special shout out for some unexpected but welcome roast potatoes on my plate which were to die for. A really lovely lunch in a special place. Thank you.

Yet another fantastic visit to Carnewas Tea Rooms, it's always lovely to be greeted with friendly smiles when we walk in. The beef baps were DELICIOUS and we all agreed the roast potatoes were second to none - thank you.

We enjoyed a delicious cream tea and toasted sandwich here for lunch. The food is simple but tasty and the staff are always friendly, just a great place to stop whether you are walking down to the beautiful Bedruthan Steps beach, or just in need of a proper cafe!

We saw this cafe on the edge of the NT car park and decided to stop in after a beautiful walk at Bedruthan steps - one of the best cafes we have been to locally. Friendly welcoming staff, dog friendly, great choice of homemade cakes and delicious cream tea. We didn’t have lunch but it looked a great selection of homemade soup/stews/sandwiches/baked potatoes and we will definitely return. Lovely garden as well for when the weather allows outside eating.

Fabulous food at very reasonable prices, in a stunning location with very friendly and helpful staff. Be warned it is very popular and can get extremely busy at peak times.

On a very eat day we squelched in and had chees and bacon jacket potato and bacon and Brie. Both served with a delicious salad, coleslaw, chutney and served with a smile. Dfinately ecommend this place. Excellent choice of cakes soup etc but we were too full for more! Thank you, you were a life saver to two cold, wet hungry walkers!

As this season draws to a close, I would like to thank the staff here for a great years breakfasts, lunches and snacks. Have brought my family up several times too this year and we all love the place. The home-made cream teas are to die for. Lovely cliff top setting at the National Trust location, with adjacent car park. Eat inside or in the lovely tea gardens. See you all in 2019.

So the weather was not great the day we visited....gale force winds where we could barely stand up so it was nice to get inside the cafe.

Called in here, for a snack after a delightful walk along the cliff path to Bedruthan Steps. Decided to try the jacket potatoes, wow!! The bacon and cheese variety came with a pile of tasty bacon rashers, a pot of grated cheese, pats of butter, a pot of coleslaw and a decent salad! My prawn and Marie rose version, had a pot of prawns, a pot of sauce, coleslaw and salad, a real plateful!! Friendly, prompt service, views to die for and free parking outside ( for NT members that is!! ) What more could you want?

Visited after a walk on cliffs and beach on a wet and windy day. Cafe was extremely busy but had one free table. Young man on counter was very friendly and took my cream tea order. Scones were lovely, large pot of jam and cream and lots of tea. Good value for money. Great place to relax and recover ....

Popped in, killing time before a flight from Newquay. Had a lovely walk along the coastal path and a very reasonably priced lunch, pasty and salad for one and homemade quiche and salad for the others. The baked foods were good, the salad would have been good with a tasty dressing. Would visit again.

Very welcoming, Great ice cream flavours. Especially the Ferrero Roche and Millionaires shortbread. Lady went above and beyond for our dog letting her sit in the shade on a 25 degree day to enjoy her pup cup. Thank you!

the only place open on a Sunday on St Martins! So glad it was open, it was absolutely heaving but we got there in time to get seats and what was left of the cakes and drinks.
