Lovely food , very dog friendly. Would visit again .

First time at Birdies and was the best full English I’ve ever had nice and very enjoyable all the staff were really friendly, be seeing you again soon.

Food was nice. However I was visiting with my partner and my non-verbal autistic daughter who does not really eat much when we are out as she does not like her food touching. Eating out already causes myself massive anxiety. The waitress that took our order was lovely. She agreed that it was okay fir myself and my partner to have our breakfasts and for our 2 year old to have a small plate so we could give her some toast. The food came out but we had to ask again for the small plate. It was then that the old waitress said to the other servers they have only paid for two but want 3 plates. Two adults paying and a 2 year old with autism that has additional needs. Absolutely disgusted. I will not recommend, I will make sure everyone knows that this place discriminates against young children with diaabilities. The waitress's should not be gossiping in ear shot of the customer. Appalling.

Staff were amazing....But Poached eggs floating in water. Avocado in a ramekin.??? Toast not toasted.

Decent breakfast, good sized portions. Nice views, and reasonable parking.

Lovely chill atmosphere. Great but affordable food with plenty of choice. Clearly popular with locals and I can see why. All the staff are an absolute credit to this business. Friendly, accommodating, great with kids, funny and consumate professionals. They are a credit to the bistro.

Was OK,but the food was silly,hummus in a nice bowl and the most ridiculous amount of bread,had to leave half of the hummus i had nothing to eat it with,a very over priced dish,cut the size and the price,won't go again or recommend it.

Just DO NOT get the bubble and squeak. It's a tiny portion. I looked around the room and other tables had big portions of other meals so other meals might be ok. £15 for a tiny bit of mash with some smoked salmon on it. The room was also red hot.

Had a breakfast roll and pot if tea staff friendly and polite service was great as was the food would definitely go again worth the stop

The food is always perfect as is the location. Get there early for breakfast, although it has been extended but it is always busy.

This was our 1st visit to Birdies Bistro I was exited to see there was a window seat in the main dinning area, at this point I was unaware of the extensive seating area outside. We were seated then our dog spotted Canadian goose and proceeded to start whining like a “ sealion” like he does, (only when seeing geese, ducks or anything that looks like a cat) this was after ordering food By this time coffee and tea had arrived. I asked if we could be reseated as I didn’t want to spoil other guests dining experience This was no trouble whatsoever and the waitress kindly obliged to our request carrying our coffee and tea to another table She directed us to a covered area outside with panelling that went to the floor, brilliant, geese no longer in eye contact of said dog Not long after the food arrived Katsu chicken burger and Chicken, bacon and Brie burger The food was excellent, however due to the quantity of chicken (hearty amount) in the katsu burger it could have done with more katsu sauce, ( minor detail) The food was hot and the Chicken, Brie and bacon burger was superbly messy to eat, as it should ( don’t worry plenty of napkins available) So, overall, if your in the Leylant surrounding area and fancy some excellent food or drinks, then this is the place for you Friendly staff, great food and good premises Thank you for my wonderful lunch and be very accommodating to our needs. Our dog had a relaxing time too with no geese to interrupt his snooze.

Yet another Cornish eatery where the food is excellent and the staff friendly and accommodating. Recommend the seafood pate!

Amazing food and service Great quality but can be improved with greater ingredients and products . Better presentation and bigger portions . But fabulous . The views are amazing whilst scoffing a breakfast sandwich and sipping a hot americano .

Very enjoyable visit, despite being busy and having to wait for a table, we were greeted by friendly staff who explained that we would be accommodated asap. The location is right next to the estuary and has an outdoor terrace area for warmer months. Dogs welcome. The food ranges from breakfasts, ciabattas, burgers and sandwiches. We opted for the open steak sandwich and comes with salad and fries. Steak served sliced medium rare - cooked perfectly. Good coffee. Priced fairly for the quality/location. Definitely worth a visit but may be prudent to book ahead.

This place is ALWAYS busy come rain or shine, and there is good reason. Beautiful food, lovely premises with lovely views over the estuary and great service by friendly staff. We have been a number of times, and having now moved away from Cornwall, we always make the trip to eat here if we find ourselves visiting.

Stopped here for the first time, having said we should for soooo long. What a treat and would highly recommend to others. Very generous portions, so make sure you are hungry! 😀 Friendly attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Great for bird lovers over-looking the estuary. Dog and muddy boot friendly. 👍

Great lunch stop. First time visiting Birdies and will definitely be visiting again. There’s a reason the place was rammed on a Wednesday lunchtime in February!

I love ❤️ Birdies..... It's one of my favourite places to go for coffee and cake, lunch.... and dinner when they open for longer in the season. Always good food, excellent service and brilliant setting. I was on my own on Wednesday morning having a hot chocolate and the cutest bear 🐻 was on the top when it arrived...... It cheered me right up. An amazing barista 😊 Thank you.

We came in for an impromptu lunch towards the end of service. We were served by Ruby who was really warm, friendly and welcoming, the service was 5 star and the food delicious. Will definitely come again

Regular visitor to St Ives as my wife is from here and my Mother in law still lives here. Passed this place on many occasions but never been in.......big mistake!!!! My mother in law insisted we try it, so she decided to treat us to lunch. Where to start...... Staff, friendly, welcoming and thoroughly professional, nothing was too much trouble. Food....... On a scale of 1-10, definitely a 12 My wife and I both opted for the Birdies lamb flatbread. Lamb koftes, salad, tzatziki and feta cheese wrapped in a delicious flatbread, served with fries. The mother in law opted for a cheeseburger with fries. Portions are generous to say the least. Food was hot and extremely tasty. My wife and mother in law also went for dessert, delicious sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream. Thoroughly recommend this place. I will definitely be going back.

Popped for lunch but ended up choosing the all day breakfast. Very good portions of top quality ingredients, perfectly cooked. Lovely friendly staff. Dog friendly too. Nice to see dogs welcomed rather than tolerated! (Although I don't currently own a dog myself). Beautiful estuary views.

We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning, and even though it was December, the place was buzzing, but despite not booking a table was soon found for us. Most there seemed to be locals, which is normally a good sign, and we weren't disappointed. The staff were great and couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The food was excellent from the Full Cornish through to their fruit topped Waffles it couldn't be faulted. Portions were large and definitely filling. The Bubble and Squeak with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top deserves a special mention. Their coffee is excellent. Prices were reasonable. There is a car park on site.

This was always my go to for food but the last couple of times I think the food is not as good. A shame as it was really good but now only average.

Visited with my grandma who is gluten free and can’t eat potatoes. They said they can accommodate her and make sure she’s happy Example chicken katsu burger is gluten free without the bread crumbs at first it was fine Was ready to order and waited 30 mins before someone came They said best thing they can do is a pain chicken burger and no chips as anything else will mess up the kitchen but still paid full price for kastu burger So we ordered took another 30 mins for drinks to come and still missing drinks Waited another 40 for food Food came everything was dry and plain I had a burger on the special which was almost 20 quid and probably get a better burger at brewers fair The menu made sound more than it was Waitresses were very rude apart from one We’re normally a regular customer every now and then now where not ! And the toilets ! Dirty broken and rough Would not recommend

I am a solo diner and a local customer who had not visited the restaurant in a while. The initial orde was taken quickly, sitting in the conservatory. The food arrived in good time and the food was lovely, some of the best mushrooms I've tasted in ages. But then I was left, kind of ignored. The other tables around me recieved attention but not me. I would have liked desert and coffee but after 30 minutes of waiting I got bored, fed up, so paid and left. At the counter I did comment on the lack of attention. I would hope this is unusual service as I'd heard how good the restaurant is but I have absolutely no inclination to ever return. I am lucky that Hayle has other very good eateries that don't make you feel unwelcome.

We had a really lovely breakfast at Birdies. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, our food and drinks were served really quickly and both were delicious. We will be back!

Thoroughly recommend Birdies. Amazing food. Perfect setting and fantastic staff. The Seafood Chowder was the best I’ve had in a very long time and you can’t fault the portion sizes. Definitely returning soon.

We have visited many times and never disappointed. Good safe car parking. Clean toilet facilities. Variety of seating areas. Log burner in winter months. Wonderful location over looking the Estuary. Varied menu. We have visited for dinner and on other occassions for coffee/cake. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. What more could we ask for??

Travelled down to Lelant and stopped at Birdies for lunch, our lunch time venue when arriving in Lelant /St Ives. Menu excellent I had the curried kedgeree, delicious, my with had a chicken burger that she said was very nice. Service is alway friendly and efficient can’t fault it. This is a lovely place to stop for. Bite to eat, long may it continue.

3 of us had breakfast here 2 really enjoyed it ..I didn't ..the eggs Benedict looked great but the mushrooms it came with were over salted and ruined the dish for me

This place is buzzing with plenty of outdoor seating also. We loved the sardine salad (which was a special) The menu was great, interesting lunch ideas and great cakes. Efficient and friendly staff, great views over the salt marsh, on the South West Coast path. Also worth visiting the nearby Porth Kidney beach, it’s gorgeous.

Just had a week in St Ives – noted from train that Birdie’s Bistro car park always seemed to be full. Paid recce visit here at end of week for coffee and cake. Good vibes, but the cherry was going outside and snapping this kingfisher just the other side of the low wall of the external seating area. Will return next time we are in St Ives. PS - try a local day ranger rail ticket (adult price £4) – as many times as you like between St Ives & St Erth. Fascinating to see how the view can change in 30 mins with the weather – and also between low and high tide.

Excellent location….lovely menu & food choices. We had a light lunch for four and was ‘well impressed’ ….we’ll be returning. The sunny & warm 23deg & no wind was an absolute blessing too 👍🏻

My brother who lives in Cornwall had recommended Birdies, so we went for breakfast .. it was a beautiful morning so we sat out on the terrace looking out across the estuary.. our order was quickly taken by the friendly waitress .. and we were not disappointed with the quality and portion size of the food .. will certainly be returning everyone that we encountered on our visit was very pleasant

Bobbed in for brunch. Lots of parking, friendly staff, great views - can dine inside, out under cover or out-out! Great selection to choose from. Both enjoyed our choices & the take away cakes got me at the end when settling up too!! 😉😋

Popped into birdies with my family following on from a spur of the moment visit to the beach, but had been there for coffee a while ago and remembered that I had had a positive experience. The location is lovely, great views, ample parking, and the choice seating inside, outside or in a partially covered gazebo, all very nice. The staff where also pretty awesome. There was a bit of a mix up with the order, but the place was rammed and the error was minor and quickly sorted out, once again all very positive. The food (I've saved the best for last) was also very good, good menu, nice selection of locally sourced produce and the service was quick(remember they were stacked). Portions were okay (bit stingy with the fries, but you can't have everything right?) My only reservation about the food was that it felt a bit safe. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was amazing, but, the garlic mayo was so mild it was almost just plain mayo and what would have really taken it to the next level was maybe some chilli jam, or some salsa... That being said, I did do a little food dance, so that small criticism aside it was still a very nice place to have a very nice lunch, would very much recommend

An unassuming bistro on arrival but the packed car park definitely confirmed the wonderful fresh food from the amazing menu, great service and lovely venue we found inside! We were unlucky with the weather on our visit but the view was still a beautiful addition to our very tasty lunch! A place we will most definitely visit again! Truly amazing food! We went on the bank holiday weekend in Aug 2024 so it was very busy and service was very slow. But the food was incredible, and so was the view!!

We had a fantastic evening meal at birdies this week, we arrived at 5:15 and it was definitely quieter that early, got busier as the evening went on. Great selection of beers, we enjoyed the Porthleven. We had the adults burger, lamb Greek flat bread and a children’s burger. All was very nice but the Greek flat bread was the stand out dish, absolutely delicious! We enjoyed a Mr Bs after over looking the gorgeous view.

As the weather was really beautiful everyone was outside so inside was beautiful quiet for a change. Food was really enjoyable and had to have a box to take some of my main course home as so much .

I had a meal here yesterday with family. I had the gammon & it was the best I've ever tasted,so tender. Great size portions for the price. Staff were very friendly & the place is lovely, inside & out. I can't wait to come back again

Ate here, as a family for 4 - two adults, one 10 year and one 8 year old. Everyone found something on the menu to enjoy and the food that was delivered was amazing. Freshly cooked, grease free. Service was spot on and very friendly. We’ll definitely be back before we leave Cornwall

Today 2 of us had amazing food that was excellent. Ruby our waitress was excellent at up selling and we were delighted with our extras. She was lovely, engaging and genuinely interested in us as customers. We will be back sooner than ever. Thank you all.

We visited whilst on holiday as it had high reviews and it didn't disappoint. 5 of us went for breakfast, we had 3 sets of waffles and 2 cooked breakfast. All food was beautifully presented and arrived at the same time. The staff were friendly, coming and very helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we couldn't use the outside area, but the indoors was clean and comfortable. Would definitely visit again.
