Lovely breakfast and lovely staff! Wish we had discovered this place at the start of our holiday as we would have come here more than once for sure. Thank you 🙏

It is a really nice place to go and have breakfast or lunch. It was popular and busy, but the service was still very good.

Had lunch. Fab food and drinks all round. Sat outside as weather was nice.

We have visited many times and never disappointed. Good safe car parking. Clean toilet facilities. Variety of seating areas. Log burner in winter months. Wonderful location over looking the Estuary. Varied menu. We have visited for dinner and on other occassions for coffee/cake. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. What more could we ask for??

Travelled down to Lelant and stopped at Birdies for lunch, our lunch time venue when arriving in Lelant /St Ives. Menu excellent I had the curried kedgeree, delicious, my with had a chicken burger that she said was very nice. Service is alway friendly and efficient can’t fault it. This is a lovely place to stop for. Bite to eat, long may it continue.

3 of us had breakfast here 2 really enjoyed it ..I didn't ..the eggs Benedict looked great but the mushrooms it came with were over salted and ruined the dish for me

This place is buzzing with plenty of outdoor seating also. We loved the sardine salad (which was a special) The menu was great, interesting lunch ideas and great cakes. Efficient and friendly staff, great views over the salt marsh, on the South West Coast path. Also worth visiting the nearby Porth Kidney beach, it’s gorgeous.

Can't really go wrong visiting Birdies. Great menu.

Just had a week in St Ives – noted from train that Birdie’s Bistro car park always seemed to be full. Paid recce visit here at end of week for coffee and cake. Good vibes, but the cherry was going outside and snapping this kingfisher just the other side of the low wall of the external seating area. Will return next time we are in St Ives. PS - try a local day ranger rail ticket (adult price £4) – as many times as you like between St Ives & St Erth. Fascinating to see how the view can change in 30 mins with the weather – and also between low and high tide.

Lovely piece of cake and coffee.

Absolutely lovely place, the servers there are so kind and welcoming! We had the special burger and the chicken bacon and Brie burger and it was delicious, big props to the chef! Will definitely be returning soon

Excellent location….lovely menu & food choices. We had a light lunch for four and was ‘well impressed’ ….we’ll be returning. The sunny & warm 23deg & no wind was an absolute blessing too 👍🏻

My brother who lives in Cornwall had recommended Birdies, so we went for breakfast .. it was a beautiful morning so we sat out on the terrace looking out across the estuary.. our order was quickly taken by the friendly waitress .. and we were not disappointed with the quality and portion size of the food .. will certainly be returning everyone that we encountered on our visit was very pleasant

Popped in for lunch, looked after by the lovely Ruby, great atmosphere and veiws,all the staff are very welcoming. Food was fantastic, we will be back soon

Bobbed in for brunch. Lots of parking, friendly staff, great views - can dine inside, out under cover or out-out! Great selection to choose from. Both enjoyed our choices & the take away cakes got me at the end when settling up too!! 😉😋

Popped into birdies with my family following on from a spur of the moment visit to the beach, but had been there for coffee a while ago and remembered that I had had a positive experience. The location is lovely, great views, ample parking, and the choice seating inside, outside or in a partially covered gazebo, all very nice. The staff where also pretty awesome. There was a bit of a mix up with the order, but the place was rammed and the error was minor and quickly sorted out, once again all very positive. The food (I've saved the best for last) was also very good, good menu, nice selection of locally sourced produce and the service was quick(remember they were stacked). Portions were okay (bit stingy with the fries, but you can't have everything right?) My only reservation about the food was that it felt a bit safe. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was amazing, but, the garlic mayo was so mild it was almost just plain mayo and what would have really taken it to the next level was maybe some chilli jam, or some salsa... That being said, I did do a little food dance, so that small criticism aside it was still a very nice place to have a very nice lunch, would very much recommend

An unassuming bistro on arrival but the packed car park definitely confirmed the wonderful fresh food from the amazing menu, great service and lovely venue we found inside! We were unlucky with the weather on our visit but the view was still a beautiful addition to our very tasty lunch! A place we will most definitely visit again! Truly amazing food! We went on the bank holiday weekend in Aug 2024 so it was very busy and service was very slow. But the food was incredible, and so was the view!!

We had a fantastic evening meal at birdies this week, we arrived at 5:15 and it was definitely quieter that early, got busier as the evening went on. Great selection of beers, we enjoyed the Porthleven. We had the adults burger, lamb Greek flat bread and a children’s burger. All was very nice but the Greek flat bread was the stand out dish, absolutely delicious! We enjoyed a Mr Bs after over looking the gorgeous view.

As the weather was really beautiful everyone was outside so inside was beautiful quiet for a change. Food was really enjoyable and had to have a box to take some of my main course home as so much .

Brought my parents- who are bird lovers. Food is great, accommodating service, and lovely atmosphere, specially on a sunny day! I had the katsu burger, the salad and fries were enjoyable!

I had a meal here yesterday with family. I had the gammon & it was the best I've ever tasted,so tender. Great size portions for the price. Staff were very friendly & the place is lovely, inside & out. I can't wait to come back again

Ate here, as a family for 4 - two adults, one 10 year and one 8 year old. Everyone found something on the menu to enjoy and the food that was delivered was amazing. Freshly cooked, grease free. Service was spot on and very friendly. We’ll definitely be back before we leave Cornwall

Today 2 of us had amazing food that was excellent. Ruby our waitress was excellent at up selling and we were delighted with our extras. She was lovely, engaging and genuinely interested in us as customers. We will be back sooner than ever. Thank you all.

We visited whilst on holiday as it had high reviews and it didn't disappoint. 5 of us went for breakfast, we had 3 sets of waffles and 2 cooked breakfast. All food was beautifully presented and arrived at the same time. The staff were friendly, coming and very helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we couldn't use the outside area, but the indoors was clean and comfortable. Would definitely visit again.

10/10 Probably the full English I’ve ever had. Came on holiday to near st Ives, did a quick google search for breakfast near me and this place came up. Super modern and bright inside, staff are lovely and very friendly. The food is amazing, we will definitely be back. Great value too!

Their food is pretty good… Quick service, And they can start a good conversation without GOING ON! Even with us Train Nerds! You can see Lelant Saltings Station from Birdies’, they have a Lelant Saltings Station sign on their wall and.. Oh! Sorry! Being Too nerdy… Anyway, I want newcomers to know that THEY. DO. NOT. SERVE. BIRDS. Even if they wanted to, they’re by a nature reserve (really sets the mood) the RSPB would B all over them and they would go out of business. However, they do do sausages… In Conclusion, They Good.

I often visit this wonderful place! Food is always outstanding, service always with a smile and nothing is ever too much!

Fantastic location on the side of the estuary. Lovely food, (great crab sandwich). The staff were lovely and dog friendly too.

The food is excellent and the staff are always friendly, helpful and polite.

Full English and veg breakfasts were superb. Staff great, beautiful setting looking out over the marshes. Dropped one star for atmosphere only because the place is very popular and a bit noisy with shouty children. They do have a massive outdoor area as well, so in better weather we'd have been out there instead.

A lovely spot, good views, great service. My only gripe is the last two times I have been there, my poached or fried egg has not looked nice. This spoils the meal and does not tempt one to eat it! The first time I mentioned it and it was immediately replaced. So just slightly inconvenient. The second time, the over cooked and unpleasant looking egg was hidden under another, so it was not obvious when I was given the plate. They were busy and I did not really want a second. But I had to look at it throughout and I don't think I'm being too fussy if I say it made the meal unappetising. We all have experienced cooking a less than perfect egg, but if you are charging for a cooked egg, the quality should be checked as a matter of course before it gets to the customer. This won't stop me visiting, but I'll be looking out for the quality of the egg as soon as it hits the table next time!

Poor service drink taken away when hadn't finished it. Steak cold chips cold very expensive for what you got in plate.

Great bistro in Lelant/ Cornwall. We had a salad, a burger and a crab sandwich - everything was delicious. It's also lovely to sit on the terrace - with a view of the bay. The price level is also right. Full recommendation.

Absolutely amazing, so beautiful and so much better than I expected. Food is amazing and staff is very friendly. A bit more on the higher end of price but definitely worth it. The atmosphere is great in the summer, we sat outside and theirs music whilst watching the birds it’s great and the pastries look amazing

What an incredible dining experience. We’ve got 1 year old twins and get a bit nervous about eating out. Every single staff member helped us in a different way, first with our table we were guided to a quieter area as they were sleeping when we first arrived. Then we needed help with their food intolerances and were very confident with their food choice after the lovely woman helped us. (Sorry we didn’t get any names but every single person we encountered deserves a shout out you were all very polite, kind & gracious) The food was incredible, every single bite was delicious. The hot chocolate and cakes we had were very tasty. Service was quick & efficient and the overall atmosphere is peaceful & tranquil. If we head down that way again we will definitely revisit. Thank you for such a positive eating experience.

This is a lovely Bistro with a great menu. With the various seating areas, you don't feel cramped.

Had a delicious breakfast and coffee. When we arrived car park v. full and it was very busy inside - but actually plenty of seating (larger than it looks!). Service was very quick and friendly. Views of estuary were great, only downside was it was raining when we visited! Will defo return when sunny so can sit outside 🙂

Stunning location and nice atmosphere. The food waiting time was long, ended up cancelling our order because it was going to take around an hour. That being said, they prioritised getting the kids' food out, so that was a great help. Probably wouldn't come here at peak time again. Was quite pricey in the end just for drinks.

The best greek wrap I have had in years! Honestly what a meal, lovely staff, great coffee and really fantastic food. The outdoors sections has fantastic views too. Fast service even on a fairly busy and sunny day. Genuinely, what more could you ask for?

Went on two separate occasions, and both visits where disappointing. First time we went for tea and cake. One cake was nice enough, but the other slice was stale. Second visit I had the chicken katsu burger. One chicken breast was noticeably darker than the other; clearly it had either been fried too long or fried a second time. Taste was disappointing as a result with one breast being nice, and the second one being dry and over done. My partner had the tuna ciabatta, however the bread was too dense and hard. Either not a proper ciabatta, or not a fresh one. Staff didn't seem overly friendly either and no one came to check on us. It was moderately busy so service should have been better. Car park is also too small for the size of the venue so parking can be difficult if it is busier.

Always enjoy visiting Birdies. The staff are always very friendly and informative and all of the food I've tried is tasty and well priced.

Online states £10-£20 a head. Be prepared for at least £40 a head. Drinks prices are an utter joke and limited menu. Staff could do with a LOT of training, very rude and not talkative

Very impressive place to find. Superb dog friendly welcome and service. Very varied menu with good prices. My lady opted for the crab linguine which was excellent and massive - half is in the fridge at home there was so much. My greek flatbread was similarly large and so tasty. Will certainly visit again, just a pity it's 30 miles from where we live. Highly recommended

What a find! Super breakfast, the best scrambled eggs ever on my veggie breakfast. Husband had the bubble and squeak with poached egg and hollandaise which I’m assured was lovely. Really good coffee, overall, great quality food beautifully cooked and seasoned, served up by lovely young staff. Great prices too!

Visited yesterday lunchtime. Food was excellent as were the staff - thoroughly recommend. I had the super salad with crab which was amazing. Very friendly, efficient and fab food (nothing like the negative comment recently left) !!

What a gem of a place. Stumbled across by chance and was really pleased we did. We were a big party of 10 fir breakfast and they accommodated us straight away without fuss. All the food was fantastic and the service was fast and friendly. Would highly recommend as it has a great outdoor section with beautiful views. A great end to our time in Cornwall.
