Very impressive place to find. Superb dog friendly welcome and service. Very varied menu with good prices. My lady opted for the crab linguine which was excellent and massive - half is in the fridge at home there was so much. My greek flatbread was similarly large and so tasty. Will certainly visit again, just a pity it's 30 miles from where we live. Highly recommended

What a find! Super breakfast, the best scrambled eggs ever on my veggie breakfast. Husband had the bubble and squeak with poached egg and hollandaise which I’m assured was lovely. Really good coffee, overall, great quality food beautifully cooked and seasoned, served up by lovely young staff. Great prices too!

Visited yesterday lunchtime. Food was excellent as were the staff - thoroughly recommend. I had the super salad with crab which was amazing. Very friendly, efficient and fab food (nothing like the negative comment recently left) !!

What a gem of a place. Stumbled across by chance and was really pleased we did. We were a big party of 10 fir breakfast and they accommodated us straight away without fuss. All the food was fantastic and the service was fast and friendly. Would highly recommend as it has a great outdoor section with beautiful views. A great end to our time in Cornwall.

I went yesterday for lunch with friends, we hadn’t made a booking and the car park looked very busy, but they were able to accommodate us. The staff were friendly and polite, they served us quickly and was so respectful and accommodating for allergies. The views were beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely. All of the food looked amazing, and you could tell everything was fresh. I ordered the Greek flatbread with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to heading back soon.

We went today to start off my Wife’s 50th Birthday. What can I say?…Excellent, Food, Venue & parking. Full Cornish was superb, quality ingredients..with nice Hog’s pudding & bacon. My daughters enjoyed their waffles. My Wife enjoyed the whole experience, which is what matters most!..Keep up the good work, we’ll be back soon!

Just came over, 3rd visit here. (Left Dobbie's as staff too busy chatting to serve us) Seated by window more or less straight away, order taken and good menu choices, drinks then food arrived very quickly. Busy but great. And dog friendly.

Fit us in at the end of a very busy bank holiday breakfast service, which was very kind. Excellent waffles, bubble and squeak was very tasty. Staff friendly!

Great food great service as always

Appalling place. Not suitable or flexible for Dietary requirements (Gluten Free). Very over priced compared to some Gems in Cornwall. Customer service is terrible. We had to ask 4 times to be served for food after waiting over 20 minutes at our table. Looked around trying to get the waitress attention, she was too busy lent up against the wall on her mobile phone. Eventually ordered. The waitress who served us just stood at the table and stated ‘Yes’ as if we were a burden on her. A member of our party was Gluten free, we were told Gluten free Breads alternative where an option. When we requested and asked if one of the dishes could be with gluten free bread we were, very rudely, told ‘No’. When our food came out they had mixed up the Gluten Free sandwich with the non Gluten Free meal. The non gluten free meal was placed in front of out Celiac member stating it was the Gluten Free meal. Luckily we were switched on and corrected the waitress and then she checked with the kitchen and we were correct. This could have been disastrous if a celiac customer had eaten a ordinary meal, due to the lacking experience of the staff at Birdies. We were shocked and have been left extremely concerned for customers that have allergies. On exit we explained to the lady on the front bar what had happened. There was no apology, and had a rude manner even though this was a complete error of the birdies staff. We were told If it was before 12, this is why we had to wait. We have since checked and this was actually after 12. People where ordering and eating that had come in and sat down after us. They have no plan or structure to taking orders, leaving people waiting for a very long time before being seated. No one was telling customers that they had to wait until 12 to order and when asked 4 they should have been advised on this procedure instead of replying to customers ‘I’ll send someone over to get your order’. When we explained about the Gluten Free mix up, she asked who served us and said I think I know the one, it’s the way it was written down. Really poor management and Customer Service.

We had a lovely Full Cornish Breakfast with side of halloumi ,BLT Ciabatta and garlic bread. Very good portions , delicious food. Quick and kind service. We took brownie and millionaire cake takeaway and it was amazing too. They are dog friendly. Highly recommended! 😊

Return visit here because we've loved coming here a few times before. We were staying in Hayle for the weekend and our first thought for lunch was Birdies. Arrived to a packed car park (as it always is) but managed to find a space. Friendly welcome, as always, and seated immediately. A lovely table by the window this time. The views are lovely from most tables to be honest. It does get VERY noisy in the restaurant, the sound of happy customers chatting! I had, what I have every visit, Birdie's bubble and squeak with mushrooms and it was delicious. Other half had the BBQ chicken burger and it was massive. He did say it was very salty, although (luckily) he didn't add any further seasoning (like I would've done automatically!). Great service and really friendly staff. We have friends from up north visiting south Cornwall in the next few weeks and have told them all about Birdies.

A true find among hit and miss spits on the map!

Arrived 8 minutes after opening time and the place was already bouncing. Service was polite and quick. Lovely coffee and the breakfasts - Full Cornish and Eggs Benedict with bacon and mushrooms - were really tasty. Will be back again.....maybe just before opening time 😃

Our first time here, it certainly won't be the last. Tasty food & a good variety to choose from. Very polite staff. I had Birdies Beef Burger & a Cuppachino, my son had the pasta dish & a Strawberry Milkshake. DELICIOUS!! Thankyou Heather.

Woke up to an amazing Hayle sunset and the day got even better with the most fabulous breakfast with friends at Birdies. Fabulous location and restaurant had a lovely friendly vibe. Windows with wonderful views flood the space with light. Lovely outdoors seating ( bit chilly in February but sure a super place to sit in warmer months) The staff were welcoming and efficient. Most importantly the food was delicious every one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I’m not vegan but the vegan full breakfast that friends had looked fab and we were told it was. Bubble and Squeak was so good and the hot chocolate was one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to revisit and try other dishes on the menu. Thank you for having us Birdies ☺️

Very tasty food! Atmosphere is calm, views across the estuary. Staff very attentive, friendly and polite. Restaurant nice, clean and modern. Highly recommend and will be passing on to friends, family and colleagues.

Visited a few times during stay, had Burgers , lamb koftas, ham egg and chips, all very tasty and a great selection of cakes which we took home for later in the day. Soft drinks a little bit pricey in our opinion but not overly so. Wonderful views.

I brought my binoculars & elected to sit outside under cover. I was wrapped up. Had a hot choc & Kedgeree. A bit spicier than I remember. 3 Teal on the water the other side of the glass panels outside.

Arrived to a rather full car park with absolutely no provision for Blue Badge holders, and lots of 4 x 4's selfishly taking up 2 spaces. On entering a rather dour waitress said sit here. It was a table for 2 next to the entrance and exit right by the service counter. I explained as a hearing aid wearer I needed somewhere quieter. I was told we would have to wait 30 to 40 minutes. She could see that I was struggling to walk (I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees) yet she made no attempt to offer me somewhere to sit whilst we waited. So we left, never to return as it takes nothing to be kind. I don't support businesses that see a disability as a hindrance.

It was really cold outside. We hadn't booked and the car park was full, but on enquiry we were told that a table would be available soon. It gets quite noisy in the main dining area but we were offered a table outside in the marquee, which was quieter, and not cold. The food was excellent and the waitresses very friendly. I honestly don't know how they cater so fast, so efficiently, for so many. Well done. Worth a visit, definitely!

Have always passed here but never stopped before..... after a disappointing visit to get lunch else where. We drove down to Birdies. And gotta say we were NOT disappointed.. welcomed with a smile, offered a couple of tables to chose from. The food was absolutely amazing and as was the hot chocolate. A really nice atmosphere to be in and the staff appeared to enjoy their job. 100% be back there again soon

Lovely find overlooking the estuary. It was recommended and did not disappoint. We were there on a cold and very wet January morning. But the welcome was warm. Great dog friendly location.

Had some nice meals here before but this time was a let down. Ran out of sausages for breakfast so asked for extra bacon instead. Made to feel like I was asking for far too much. Mushrooms were awful and my eggs not cooked properly, which I asked to be replaced. Unfortunately the same eggs came back having been thrown back on the griddle, like bullets.

Very beautiful setting, in middle of nature. Great big windows to admire the view. Had waffles with divine fluffy yoghurt cream, making it sweet yet fresh. Tiny drawback is the noise level, as it is so popular. People chat happily, so when it is full, it gets loud. I'd happily go back there anytime however. The place is full of dogs, which is an additional bonus, in my opinion. And good coffee!

Nice place, great service, friendly staff, ample parking, & great view. Just that the seafood chowder was too salty for my liking, but think that’s British food in general.

We visited Birdie’s a few times during our holiday. The staff are lovely, the place is spotless and the food is delicious. Really nice environment and great views.

First time visiting this great bistro . Loved the sign on our way in ( Be kind or Leave ) totally agree with this . Covid has turned the general public into impatient, impolite, rude and demanding . Right rant over back to my review . I took my mum here for lunch . It was a lovely atmosphere with stunning views . We both ordered the bubble and squeak , we certainly enjoyed our lunch it was delicious and you can tell they use quality products . The staff were attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back when I’m back visiting in Hayle again . Keep up the great work .

We ordered, apparently the waffles came covered already with sugar (they should leave it for the customer to add) plus the maple! Was too sweet for her. My full English was greasy, cheap sausages that were tasteless, thin slices of hogs, luke warm tomatoes. Location was nice and divining area. We ate, paid n left. The above areas need addressing to take the business forward, couple next to us weren't over impressed with their breakfast. We had to ask for condiments and cutlery as well plus milk for my coffee. Outside there was an extensive list of rules to read on a board... felt like a prison canteen (not that I've experienced prison dinning! 😆) This is feedback not to damage business. The ham eggs and chips which all tree of us had were excellent, lovely thick English boiled ham and plenty of it. There is a downside to the Bistro however. The clientele is mostly senior and female, their husbands strategically retired to the golf course, shed or here after, the noise levels rival the local geese, not helped by the hard surfaces of the floor to ceiling glass windows, floor and walls. I had noise cancelling ear buds which I deployed, but they don't work. Dine outside if you can or maybe the veranda/conservatory has fewer hard surfaces. The establishment is well named, but not I suspect with the irony that it turns out to have.

The restaurant has very nice scenery, surround with farm and you can see the train run pass. The food were very good and tasty. Outdoor area was so nice in the morning. I’ve been there for breakfast. Food served quite fast even guest was crowded.

Excellent breakfast, great coffee and really beautiful surroundings. Worth taking a breakfast detour! Would generally give it 5 stars if your mostly mobile and we would definitely recommend the lovely food ( veggie friendly too) but would like to point out although it has ramps to get into and out of the cafe it has been made a lot less accessible due to the deep chippings in the carpark that make wheelchair access a bit of a headache. If that’s not a problem for you it’s brilliant and the staff are friendly and helpful

Lovely food but very busy. Quite a long wait to have order taken and coffee brought out, then another wait for our food but it is a good eatery in a lovely location and can quite see why it was busy.

The food was nice. Not much for vegetarians, that was disappointing. But the thing that really let it down was the noise. You couldn't hear yourself think. I won't be going back for that reason.. Even though the coffee was nice.

Stumbled across this place when looking for somewhere for lunch during a family holiday. It did not disappoint. Amazing food in a lovely setting. Would definitely recommend.

One of my favourite dishes is a Crab Linguine and living locally I can tell you I have tried it at most of the restaurants in the area, including in St Ives and can tell you Birdies one tops the lot. Plenty of sauce, copious amounts of beautiful crab, a generous portion too, it’s perfect. We do love Birdies, it’s been wonderful watching it grow and expand over the years and it’s most certainly a hidden gem. Well worth a visit.

What a lovely place! Really friendly staff, delicious food and drinks, peaceful outdoor seating overlooking the estuary. We saw a kingfisher and lots of fish and came twice in the same week!

Excellent breakfast. Good service.

We popped in for a spot of lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was fairly empty with lots of staff/waitresses. Despite this it took ages to get served and trying to catch anyone’s eye was almost impossible. That said the food was eventually decent - we would have liked desert but couldn’t catch anyone’s eye to place an order so gave up and left (without leaving a tip) Shame.

Arranged to meet up with friends for breakfast. Birdies open at 9, you cannot book. We arrived at 9.20 and inside it was busy already. I asked for a table outside, and we had a good table with great views. Service was speedy and efficient. I had the English breakfast and it was well cooked and hot. We ended up spending over two hours chatting and ordering more drinks. A lovely morning

We went to Birdies this morning Sunday 17th September for breakfast. The quality of the food was exceptional, the staff were very friendly, and service excellent. We have been here before as we do live locally. Would recommend Birdies to everyone, and do. We met Dom the owner, it was the 10th Anniversary of his opening the Bistro this weekend, and he has definitely worked very hard to create such a special place to visit. OMG is all I have to say! The food is outstanding, highly recommend!

Whilst on our holiday in St Ives last week we called here twice for coffee. The cafe is so nice with lovely seating indoor and out. Staff were very welcoming and friendly which was welcomed after a bad experience with rudeness at a cafe/cabin close by. We will definitely return and will tell our friends who visit the area regularly about this lovely bistro

Amazing vegetarian breakfast in a cool, calm, welcoming environment.

Decided to go to Birdies for a breakfast with my friend. I arrived a little early and made my way to the garden area. Wow!! It is truly breath taking. I sat down at the comfortable table and chairs looking out at the estuary. The sun was shinning down and I actually felt quite emotional at the feeling I felt being there. Never felt this before and just felt the need to leave a review as it only got better. Being a parent of a child with allergies I was delighted to be asked if we had any allergies before the order was taken. Such friendly and attentive staff. Our order came out and it was delicious. I love the tea pots too!! Thank you Birdies for a delightful experience. Will definitely be coming again and my friend has now also sorted a date with her daughter to return as she was impressed too.

The people who run and work at Birdies Bistro have really got it nailed down! Great setting and location, lovely views, choice of dining indoor, outdoor, or outdoor under a canopy/cover. My Wife and I visited for breakfast/lunch, we were swiftly seated, served in good...

Enjoyed a really great breakfast there, and despite how busy it was (the place was packed) the food arrived quickly and was well cooked. Will definitely be returning!

In Cornwall on holiday poppedin on chance of a meal most other places in area not serving. We recieved a warm welcome and fabulous service throughout, lovely food in an incredible environment with RSPB MARSH just outside door. Can not fault service or food. Definitely...
