The best restaurants in South West

Went for Sunday lunch with family. Booked in advance for midday, no mention on booking that they required the table back at 14.00. On arrival , I assume it was the licencee landlord kept making a point that they required the table back at 14.00, annoying to say the least. Food quality, I would describe as very average, akin to a school dinner. Thinly sliced pork reheating in gravy, veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding OK. Desert again average poor presentation. Best part of meal espresso. Would I return, NO. Very average experience.

Very nice establishment, cosy and refined. Not much of a selection in beers but they have a great Guinness. Nicely decorated with wooden floors throughout. Staff were friendly and polite. Great visit.

Lovely country pub and food is lovely. We visit when we come to the area on holiday. Staff lovely and friendly and my dog is always welcome here too.

Dropped in for a pint with friends in one of the last "local pubs" family run in Falmouth, you must experience this little pub if none other in Falmouth.

Close to Ashton Gate Stadium, match day and busy. Friendly and helpful staff, 'guvnors' and locals. Good beers.

Had a cracking fish and chips this lunchtime, first time on passing, I will be back from a happy concrete lorry driver

A fantastic hotel with outstanding staff! We arrived late in the evening and needed four rooms. We were assisted by two incredibly friendly gentlemen, one of whom, if I remember correctly, was named Jason. We only had to wait five minutes for our room keys, and during that time, we were kindly offered a drink. Jason then informed us that, unfortunately, the hotel did not have a restaurant, but they provided a shuttle service to the city center. We took advantage of this, and what an amazing service it was! 10/10 for the service and staff!

Had a very nice coffee and lovely chocolate cake perfect for chocoholics! Beautiful location and the staff are friendly and very helpful if you’re not very mobile. Can highly recommend

Simple and wholesome, the lady who served us did all the work herself and was very welcoming. The aesthetic is simple and bare but in the warmest way with a beautiful authentic feel. The food we ordered was delicious, hot and filling and served quickly. Very affordable in an expensive place, would recommend!

Absolutely terrible ! Went for lunch and the only food available was a sandwich with crisps and fishcake with peas. Stood waiting for ages for the person to serve us with absolutely no achnoligement at all. A complete lack of personal and customer skills, I actually thought he was on drugs ! We watched as four others were given the same silent treatment and decided to leave !
