We were a table of 8 with 3 kids yet the service was quick and the staff are very pleasent. The food portions are large so glad we skipped the starters. The belly pork and the ribs was cooked just right. Good food good service and a good atmosphere what more could you want

Lovely place staff friendly and polite food very good

It’s a nice pub, they have a fireplace in one of the rooms. The cod and chips was pretty good even though the peas came non-mashed which I was slightly surprised about. The tartare sauce was tasty. Their home made pate was great! Worth having again. The pudding with liver/kidneys was below my expectations but it might be more of a personal preference. Overall don’t expect too much from this place but it’s good food and reasonable portions. The service was fairly slow so we had to actively chase them

I had the most amazing time on my holiday in the Cotswolds! On my way home, I discovered this incredible local pub that served the most delicious authentic food I'd been craving, and it made me amazed when they offered the food was just fresh from the pan, steaming hot, so delicious😋😋😋. The staff was so friendly, the pub was very clean, and I was impressed. The atmosphere and location were wonderful. It's close to Castle Combe, so if you're ever in the area and looking for a great place to eat, you must check it out! I can't wait to go back there soon! 😋👌🫰🥰❤️

Lovely full menu of various delights.. plenty of it and extra veg not a problem… good choice on the specials board as well. I had the stake and kidney pudding with chips and loved it. Family friendly atmosphere within easy reach of Badminton and Castle Coombe.

Love this place, food is always first class, of good quality and plentiful and very varied menu . I have had breakfast lunch and evening meals here The staff are excellent service really good as well. They always greet you with a smile, and nothing is to much trouble. Love their Pub dog. 🐾🐾 There is a large car park and peaceful beer garden. Definitely need to book as they get very busy, a proper pub with superb food.

We stopped unexpectedly for an early evening meal. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was delicious - home cooked and heart, very generous portions. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub. Staff were super friendly and accomodating, meals were tasty with generous portion sizes, and the locals were welcoming and chatty each night my spouse and I dropped in for a few pints, since we were staying only a few doors down during our honeymoon.

We found this amazing place on Google Maps whilst searching for somewhere to eat on a Sunday afternoon. The drink selection is great and fairly priced and the food - well it is probably the best roast I've had in a very long time. A choice of beef, lamb, pork or turkey - I chose lamb. The meat was tender and succulent and served in homemade gravy with roasts and vegetables separately in dishes. Very good value and a delicious meal. The desserts were delicious too. Super friendly staff - quick service and overall a very nice experience. Hopefully we will be back to eat again one day! Thanks especially to Pete the chef for serving up such great food...

The food was nice & and was reasonably enjoyable. Nothing too wrong, but then not much to shout out about. Zero atmosphere, but that is caveated because it was a Monday evening.

The perfect pub. It's in a small village yet always busy which speaks for itself, its well worth a drive. The food is always high quality, lots of it and cooked to absolute perfection - breakfasts, roasts, even their salad is killer. Extremely welcoming and friendly, we always recommend the Fox and Hounds.

I had the best chicken tikka masala I've had in years, my fellow diners all had nothing but praise for their various meal. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic food and the most welcoming staff! We arrived late after the kitchen had closed but sensing our despair, Lisa was really kind to offer us takeaway fish and chips which we really appreciated. It then happened to be the best fish and chips we’ve ever had! Will definitely be back (at a reasonable time!) to enjoy this lovely place again - thank you so much

Wow what an amazing place, lots of history, lovely place to have a wedding. Staff friendly, polite and professional. An all round excellent experience and wedding. Free parking and clearly sign posted. Will definitely go again and try out the menu in the restaurant. Wedding meal was exceptional, surprised how filling the meal was, excellent service and staff professional well done. Unable to comment on cost as we were part of the wedding.

I visited today with 3 friends and one of my friends had to return her meal as it was so salty she couldn’t eat it….the waitress offered a replacement but then return to say “Chef says no point as the gravy still had salt in it “so she offered Fish & Chips instead. This was served and all ok until we got the bill and Chef insisted on charging my friend for both meals!!!!!!! We said it wasn’t right but he insisted she had to pay for both meals. We have been to this restaurant for years but today Chef/Owner has just lost 4 customers . According to the Consumer Law 2015, my friend should NOT have been made to pay for a meal she couldn’t eat and sent back!!!!!😡😡😡

If you want a proper English breakfast this is the place. It was very tasty and lots of it. Pub is nice and clean. Chap serving was very friendly and helpful. Will be going here every time from now on. I had already eaten one egg when I took the photo

Didn't eat there, but I could see that the portions were on the large side, but I am surprised by the reviews that state it is very affordable as I was charged £4 for a lime and soda which personally I think is exorbitant

Wow! Is all I can say, I had a meal with a friend and it was amazing, the flavour and quality of the food was far superior to any other place I have eaten in. I will definitely be going back!

The food was good quality and size portions. Mains were about £15.95 My friend had a starter for her main course and she thought they had given her a main. We would happily go there again. I would say this is better than average.

We came here purely by default, as the pub we went to originally was having problems with the electric supply. So now I have two pubs to visit. However the food at where we ended up at was extremely good. Hot, plentiful and very tasty. Top tip if you're going to have the pie make sure you are hungry.

This was our first time here and we'll be coming again. The food is fab and the portions are generous. I had steak and kidney pudding, hub had steak and ale pie, our friends had gammon. The service was very good considering how busy it was. It's a quirky building with several sections within it that are for dining in. My only tiny negative was where we were seated we could hear the hand drying fan going in the toilet because the loos were situated just round the corner and the doors were left open for some reason. (But my friend did comment on how clean they were.) The puddings were very generous. Hub and I shared a cheescake and the jam sponge that my friend had was huge! We'll definitely be coming back.

Popped in on the off chance of a table for 2 at about 1730 on a Friday. Yes the kitchen is open and yes, we can squeeze you in. Pie of the day and steak and kidney pudding both excellent and generous portions. Excellent all round. And lovely new skylights fitted! Highly recommended.

Went to celebrate an anniversary. Was a bit cold when entering, but it had been raining all day! Such an extensive menu with a blackboard of specials. Took ages deciding what to have! My selection was excellent. Very flavoursome. One in party not happy with their selection, slightly undercooked batter and oily fish. However, the price was deducted from bill - no quibble. We enjoyed our desserts.Staff attentive and kind. We have to go back to sample some of the other dishes. Highly recommended 👌.

Menu choice is very large but have a feeling most everything is defrosted and cooked. I had the pie of the day and it came out with a huge puff pastry top, which looked great but when I started to eat was cold inside and meat very chewy. I sent it back and they were very lovely about it and then reordered the Scampi which unfortunately wasn't that great either. I don't think I will be returning to eat there. Sorry.

Stopped of at The Fox and Hound for a late lunch with my husband & 2 children. Overall a pleasant place, nice & friendly staff. In terms of the menu, limited in vegetarian options. Nothing vegan at all. (we are vegetarian however trying to be more plant based). I feel this is across the board however, it's a shame for people who don't eat meat. There was a dog running around which I didnt like and feel animals should be kept away from dining areas. You do get a decent plate of food (portion size). My son struggled for options as there was only, a baguette with salad/chips. He dosent like lasagne however my daughter went for that option.

Amazing meal, I went for comfort food, steak and kidney pudding, homemade, came with a assortment of veg, red cabbage, broad and whole green beans, carrots , I chose thick chips. Partner had cod and chips and it was massive, and well cooked! Too full for a dessert!

Food is always fabulous, staff always make time there enjoyable, relaxed and never rushed. Perfect place to go for any celebration or just for good hearty, friendly evening out.

Gorgeous evening, setting terrific, warm welcome , food was exceptional especially steak and ale pie. Rooms clean and everything you require , breakfast enormous which sets you up for the day. Would highly recommend

Been a few times not yet disappointed. It's very much about value and this pub offers that in spades. Reasonably priced, ample portions by any but the most ravenous standards, and well cooked. Drinks much like most pubs, setting is comfortable and not too modern, retaining its traditional feel but clean and fresh. Access is level from the ample carpark to bar. Setting is much like the stereotypical Cotswold village. Although quite a small hamlet it is quiet and character-full highly recommended.. update Jan 23. Another visit. Still holding good. £23 two course Sunday lunch well cooked with drink. Competitive. And Staff good laugh too.

We had a lovely meal here, we were greeted with a friendly welcome, the surroundings were clean and tidy as were the toilets. The food was well presented, tasty and portions were large. We thought the prices were also really reasonable, loved the log fire and the pub dog.

Been organising meals at the Fox & Hounds since May 2022 and this is by far the best pub for service and food in the area and will continue to do so throughout 23 and beyond.

One of the best 'local' Roast lunches we have had. Coupled with a lovely setting and great friendly and attentive service, it's a definite 'must go back again'. An amazing casual drop-in find!!.

Lunch on the way to Castle Combe circuit.. Saw this place and stopped for lunch, I can recommend eating here. We both had omelettes. which were excellent. and there was plenty there so perfect if you’re hungry.

We had an excellent lunch here. It was nice to go to a pub that had an interesting lunch menu - a lot better than some of the bland offerings in chain pubs. Food and drink were good value and the staff friendly. It must be doing something right as Acton Turville has a population of one man and a dog but the pub was busy.
